Title: Worst Movie You've Ever Seen?
Post by: WhiteTiger89 on June 24, 2011, 04:01:57 PM
Thought this would be a fun thread to start. :P

As a fan of 80's horror, I've seen a lot of really bad movies. As a result, I don't normally call a movie bad these days unless it is truly atrocious. Transformers 2, Twilight, both of them are arguably cinematic masterpieces compared to some of the ones I've seen.

Hands down the worst film I've ever seen was Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds. Now, you'd think that title would be warning enough, but the first Feast is actually one of my favorite horror films of all time. Feast 1 had a great sense of humor, unique and memorable characters, gallons of gore! (I'm a bit of a gore-whore :P), and a wonderfully simple premise: A dozen people are sitting in a bar in the middle of nowhere when suddenly, a family of four monsters attacks the bar and the characters have to find a way to survive the night. Feast 2 on the other hand had abysmal effects, lame and forgettable characters, a disgustingly over the top gross-out sense of "humor" (don't even get me started on the sex gags *vomits*), and an entirely nonsensical plot! One that I'm not going to even try and explain for fear of self-inflicted brain damage. x_x  To give you some idea though, the plot does at some point boil down to "Let's bunker down in the nearby jail, then we'll be safe!" Ok... Why not just hotwire one of the dozens of abandoned vehicles on the road and drive out of town?

In short, I dare mainstream Hollywood to release a movie worse than Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds. Are you game, Hollywood? Because I don't think you can do it.  >:3

Honestly, Uwe Boll's movies are better than Feast 2!

That would be Dead Alive, directed by Peter Jackson, future director of Lord of the Rings. :P

Although I've probably seen worse, Ghost Rider was a pretty terrible movie.

Yeah, Ghost Rider was a mess of a film. The effects were good, but the fights were lousy and Nic Cage was horribly miscast. I don't care how much he loves the character, he should never have been allowed to play Johnny Blaze.

I don't know if it's the worst movie I've ever seen but it was just downright horrible.  It was called Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus.

I just wrote this little rating guide as a facebook note, and thought it would be fun to post it here as well. :P

This is how I rate movies:

10/10 = Cinematic Masterpiece: Inception, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Toy Story 3

9/10 = Awesome: The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings, Hot Fuzz

8/10 = Great: Batman Begins, Liar Liar, Deep Blue Sea

7/10 = Impressive: Daybreakers, I Robot, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

6/10 = Good: Dracula 2000, Splice, Spider-Man 3.

5/10 = Alright: Ghost Rider, The Breed, House of the Dead

4/10 = Watchable: The Shining, Ultraviolet, My Name is Bruce

3/10 = Borderline: Skyline, Catwoman

2/10 = Bad: Alien vs. Predator 2

1/10 = Garbage: Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds

I think the lowest quality movie that I've still enjoyed was House of the Dead 2. As poorly made as it was, it told a coherent story with some pretty cool ideas. The coolest of which was that the US Government had a dedicated anti-zombie task force.  XD

Twilight. :3

I wish I could say Twilight was the worst movie I've ever seen, but I'd be lying if I did.

In all honesty, I'd probably give Twilight a 6/10. The effects were iffy at times, Kristen Stewart couldn't act her way out of a wet paper bag, and a some of the dialog is really cheesy. That said, the movie tells a coherent story of forbidden love and is a largely faithful adaptation of the source material, which is more than even some of the Harry Potter movies can claim. I'm looking at you, Movies 3 and 4. >:(

Its not the worst movie, (actually, its pretty good) but the ending just MURDERED the whole thing D:<
The mist!
He takes his family away as far as possible, then he ends up killing everyone but him (Including his wife and ONLY son) and then the army comes in right after he kills his son.
^Ending!
Really, it was a good movie, besides that D:

He made a judgement call. They had not seen absolutely any indication that any help or relief was coming and all signs pointed to complete domination by the creatures, given that can you really blame him for not wanting his only son to die a horrible, gruesome death? Of course in the end it backfired on him, but there was no way he could have known. The ending wasn't bad it was just "Oh wow, that sucks, buddy".

See, I saw that ending coming. I'm a big Stephen King fan and he has a tendancy to write endings like that. As such, it didn't really bother me.

Another heinously bad film that I've seen was Leprechaun 4: In Space. The effects are fairly sub-par, and the story is flat out ridiculous. The only redeeming features are Warwick Davis' excellent as always performance as the evil Leprechaun, and the fact that the movie is so bad it's funny. 3.5/10

Day Of The Dead.

When I saw Nick Cannon was playing as a 'super-macho' soldier, I couldn't help but laugh. It was really bad, but Nick Cannon made it even worse. His scream from death was hysterical. This movie was more of a comedy than a zombie-thriller flick.

There was no plot, almost all of the good guys get killed, and the climax was anti-climactic. The only good part was when one of the giant scorpions throws up on one of the good guys!

Thinking again another bad movie that I've seen (partly) is Sands Of Oblivion. I mean, I was okay with the Egyptian references and the curse of Camp Demille, but when that one guy got graphically decapitated by a bulldozer, it scared the fracking heck out of me. Not to mention, they shouldn't have killed the guy anyway, because there wasn't any comic relief anymore. The could have decapitated anyone, anyone at all, but the fracking curse chose that guy. It scared the heck out of me and it made me lose total interest, since that guy never deserved to die. One of the girls that were torturing him maybe, but not the kid. It wasn't right!

It would have to be Borat. Was it exactly a horrible concept for humor? No. In fact the cultural jokes were fairly funny and it wasn't badly made. But it still managed to scar me for life and was so painful to watch through because when you're done you feel like you need to take a bath for a few hours to wash the dirty off.

Drag Me to Hell was funny and endurable, not god awful, but still so bad that I have no interest in watching it again without gagging myself with a spoon.

I would actually disagree.

Though it doesn't appear so on the surface (very nearly said furface :P), the movies actually have a fairly interesting backstory that hasn't yet been fully explored. It's mentioned briefly in the first one, brought up in more detail in the second one, and the third film looks like it's set to tell us everything. As a matter of fact, I would argue that the Paranormal Activity films are a sign that all creativity is not lost within Hollywood.

I thought cloverfield was amazingly done. I don't get what people hate so much about the shaky camera perspective when it's used for the purpose of the story. What I hate is when it's used in fight scenes or action scenes of regularly filmed movies. I can never tell who is winning.

But wait, that's off topic, just thought I should get my two cents in. The worst movie I've ever seen would probably have to be transformers 2 or 3. I'm sure that was already mentioned though.

Along with assorted quick shots of its body and appendages throughout the film. All the shots of him are pretty quick due to the whole "shaky, sporadic camera" thing going on in the whole movie, so if you're not looking closely at where he is it can be difficult to piece him together.

Nonetheless, I hate this movie too. XP

Children Of The Corn Six

I couldn't even watch the entire movie. The scariness was mediocre to say the least. The plot was unknown, the film moved like a flash as if it was a compressed book summary on film. I couldn't even tell what was going on, even if I tried. After shutting the flick off, I had a massive headache from the failure that had played on my television.

I've heard good things about the ones with the original director, but after they replaced him, it all went downhill. Which is easy to believe. Most good movies that are remade or sequeled with new directors are most of the times, never good. Dawn Of The Dead is an exception.

Ahh, I have so many post I for this thread its not funny (Member of the Movie Critic Club.)

So to start off, this movie has apparently eared the title of worse movie ever made and is regarded as such by all who have seen it. The reason why I watched this was simply because I wanted to watch the "Worst Movie Ever Made" but without further delay the worst movie ever~!

Plan 9 from Outer Space (Originally titled: Grave Robbers from Outer Space) Directed by Edward D. Wood, Jr.

I don't remember the title at all, so it's difficult to say anything precise, but what made it horrible, aside from obvious reasons like acting and story, was lack of basic research and aesthetics. I remembered mostly that the movie was about an alien ship arriving on Earth. It's entrance was covered in depiction of our solar system. With 9 planets. It was after the official redefinition to 8 planets and 4 dwarf planets. Minor thing, maybe, but it was a fact relevant to the plot and pointed out by characters.
I didn't have the strength to watch it to the end.

One word. Feast.

The film is called Feast, I guess I just stated that, and it's by far one of the worst movies that I've ever seen. The characters don't even have legitimate names. If I can remember correctly, one was called "Slut Cowgirl"....I needn't say more. The plot is like any other monster flick, though the film lacks build-up, they spring the monster(s) upon the audience at once.

-10/10. The film was that bad. Though it was a indie flick...-8/10, that's better.

Dude, you apparently hated the movie for every reason I loved it! I actually own it on DVD. :P  I thought the way they named and introduced the characters was hilarious and a great way to poke fun and the genre. I think my favorite example was this:

Name: Bartender
Fun Fact: Shot six times, stabbed four times, bit by one squirrel
Life Expectancy: Horrifying death in 70 minutes.

And no, there is no character named Slut Cowgirl. :P

For me, Feast = 8/10. However, Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds... it's easily the 2nd worst movie I've ever seen.

And yeah, that sounds like one of those movies I would avoid just based on the title. Like all those "Mockbusters" that come out on DVD just before a major Hollywood release. Like "The Day The Earth Stopped". Seriously, who would fall for that?

Ok... Maybe a bit at the end when the girl throws Micha's body on the camera and goes all *demon face* But yet again, it was predictable <.<

Southland Tales.

One of the most nonsensical and incoherent movies I've ever had the displeasure of viewing. Sure, a movie like Troll 2 may be technically worse, but at least it was entertainingly bad. Southland Tales is one of the few movies I've stopped watching midway through because of how much I disliked it.
