So I guess this would go here, cameras are tech after all.
I am looking for a new point and shoot, something in the $150ish range. I know this isn't a lot, but I don't need anything fancy. All it needs to do is take decent pictures. I would prefer it is was something a little on the compact side, it would be nice if I could slip it in my pocket when I'm not using it.
Any thoughts?

The only camera I've got is a Canon EOS 500D and I'm very happy with that. Reading some reviews and comments from users, it seems to be a good camera that everyone is happy with, especially compared to Nikon's answer to the model, as it is lighter and easier and more comfortable to handle, and so forth.
Personally, it was my first proper camera so I can't compare it to anything, but it's very easy to get used to, has a ton of features for any skill level and it can shoot HD video and all that.
If you can afford it, it's worth looking into. You get a lot for your money and it's not heavy or that big. Can easily fit into a small camera bag, which in return could also fit you phone and wallet, etc.
