Well, you know... I have to agree with you on Load and reload... Not their best musical move... That's a bit why I said Megadeth distroned Metallica... Metallica went out of their roots while Megadeth lways keep that Thrash influence, even in the "risk" album...
Now, if you do love long music, you have to check out Dream Theater... You will love them... Epic 12 to 42 minutes songs they have =D Check that out... Progressive is, in my opinion, a mojor key of diversity :)
2. Papa Roach
- Influenced by generic classic rock and a voice which one will never forget. Sort of simple music, I agree, but the feel of his voice and the way it mixes with the riffs is just plain awesome in my ears. Although I must admit, the truly amazing voice of the vocalist does carry the band quite a bit.
Songs: "...To Be Loved", "My Heart Is a Fist", "Last Resort", "Take Me" and "Time Is Running Out"
1. Bullet For My Valentine
- I Must admit, I rarely listen to this band anymore, but I have always liked them from the first time I heard them (saw their video to "Hand of Blood" on MTV in 2005). Welsh metalcore band with highly emotional lyrics in their earlier days, although slightly downtuned with their latest album. Melodic all the way, with both decent clean and screamed vocals and a sound I just downright love.
Songs: "Tears Don't Fall", "Pretty On The Outside", "Waking The Demon", "Four Words (To Choke Upon)" and "Dignity"
Other songs I can relate to because of their lyrics: "Room 409"
5. Wolves In The Throne Room
- One of my furry friends got me into this band. They're ambient black metal and sound pretty good to me. Also for some reason the blast beats on the drums in most of their songs is what got me hooked and a lot of their songs are 10+ minutes.
Songs: I Will Lay Down My Bones Among The Rocks and Roots, Cleansing, Wanderer Through The Sea of Fog, Crystal Ammunition, Ex Cathedra, Behold The Vastness and Sorrow.
4. Bring Me The Horizon.
- I was going to my first concert ever March 11th, 2011, and this was one of the bands that was going to play there. I have never heard their music before so I wanted to acquaint myself with them via listening to their songs on YouTube. I liked what I heard, continued listening, and started to really like them. They were pretty good in concert as well.
Songs: Crucify Me, It Never Ends, Chelsea Smile, Diamonds Aren't Forever, The Comedown, Visions, Black & Blue, Liquor & Love Lost, Pray For Plagues.
1. Meshuggah.
- This is one of the most technical and unique bands I've heard as of yet. Usually I'm not a big fan of technical metal as its complex time signatures and instrument-playing confuse me and lose my interest, but not these guys; I just like how they sound using this.
Songs: Shed, Autonomy Lost/Imprint of the Un-Saved/Disenchantment, The Paradoxial Spiral/Re-Inanimate/Entrapment, Personae Non Gratae/Dehumanization/Sum, Concatenation, Elastic, The Mouth Licking What You've Bled, New Millennium Cyanide Christ, Sublevels, Closed Eye Visuals, Nebulous (re-mastered), Perpetual Black Second, Rational Gaze (re-mastered), Spasm (re-mastered), Stengah, Straws Pulled At Random (re-mastered).
4. Blind Guardian
Also a band I only recently got into. These guys are a Progressive/Power Metal band from Germany, and they specialize in Fantasy themed songs. (See Fly and Straight Through the Mirror.) They hold a firm place in fourth because of their hardcore riffs and very beautiful choir-like sounds. The songs all paint a vivid picture, seeing as very few of them are less than five minutes, so plenty of time is there to tell a tale.
1. Disturbed
The first Metal band I ever owned an album from. The Sickness, despite me only being a little kid at the time, was my all time favorite album; and this still holds true. Their electronic-like sounds kept it feeling fresh with each song, especially in The Game and Meaning of Life. No less, their lyrics do have a lot of meaning, such as the ones in I'm Alive from Ten Thousand Fists.
I'll have to go youtube Wolves In The Throne room... It sounds like a good band =D . As for BMTH, I like some of their songs... Not a big fan of metalcore, but I enjoy some of their songs ^-^ . And I'll check Meshuggah... Seems like a good band too :) ... But if you like complex music and time signature, you have to go youtube Dream Theater... They are the essence of progressive metal and it's worth a look :)

They sure are. You should check out Ahrimanic Trance, my current favorite song from them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YVLa_NUbDY
I see. Metalcore is alright, but it's more towards the end of my favorite genres.
Well I do have "Through The Dark Eternal Night" by them on my iPod. I listen to more technical death metal than normal technical/progressive metal, though.
1: Mariah Carey - Shes (removed) amazing :'DDDD vocals are unmatched and her songs are beautiful ^_^love these choices
2: Lil Wayne - What can I say... (removed) amazing rapper :DDD wordplay is incredible, variety, and creativity.

1. Alice Cooper <3
2. Avenged seven fold
3. Bullet for my valentine
4.Twisted Sister
5.Metallica
You know, in reading all of these, I'm glad to know I'm not the only fan of Disturbed here. :P
1. Electric Six
2. Ramones
3. Siouxsie & the Banshees
4. MC Lars/MC Frontalot/YTCracker (three-way tie)
5. Tobacco/Black Moth Super Rainbow (basically the same thing)
Runner-ups include:
Black Sabbath - love them, but less so in their later albums/Dio years.
Type O Negative - haven't listened to all of their albums yet, so couldn't put them in the top 5.
David Bowie - see above, massive range of genres, can't say I love every single album he's put out
Busdriver - amazing rapper, awesome wit/wordplay.
Karmella's Game - local synthrock/pop band, lots of amazing keyboard/harmonies.
.... I just spent a half hour typing all this out, and then the board logged me off and it all got erased :V
I'll add reasons and such later, top 5 bands are
#1 Haken
#2 Yes
#3 Dream Theater
#4 Höstsonaten
#5 Frogg Café
ugh that pisses me off D: automatic logoff is terrible. I'll be back! I swear it! :P
Awesome to see another DT fan here ^-^ ... I'm going to go see them live in October ^-^

Lucky bastard. They're playing live with Haken in Atlanta at Progpower. I'd give almost anything to go to that show, both them and Haken are playing their new albums... T_T
As for me, they're touring along with Trivium in their north american tour ^-^ And I love Trivium very much :3
i just found a few new ones
epica and theader of trgatie
:V A7x.... I can never understand why people like them.
3. Brad Sucks
I learned about Brad Sucks when someone sent me that song when I was overreacting, it was great haha. And yup, I have...eclectic tastes at best. Also not on the list but still awesome: Information Society, Them Crooked Vultures, The Protomen, Motion City Soundtrack, We Are Scientists, and The Dresden Dolls (Amanda Palmer <333).3. Brad Sucks
Broseph! I never see anyone outside of the nerdcore community talk about Brad Sucks. Nice selection, wouldn't have expected QotSA and Ladytron in the same list. I'm still irked that he was planning to release six tracks on Rock Band Network, and it somehow fell through. I asked him, and he doesn't even know what happened.

And that sucks, seriously. More people should be exposed to Brad Sucks. Awesome guy.
2) Evanescence
Doesn't need an explanation!
4) Tom Waits
