Title: All This And World War III

It's about a sudden event of unknown origin that involves the Earth increasing in size by about half one day,with one half the Earth we know and love, the other an unknown world of mystery. When looking into this new world, we discover our new neighbors, large, intelligent anthropomorphic animals of various species. Being as curious as we are, we begin to interact, but as all stories go, one event leads to another and suddenly we declare war with our new neighbors. It is to be told from the POV of soldiers and citizens of both sides looking back on the war. Anything in detail can be explained if you want. How does it sound so far?

The writing style itself is a bit like Max Brooks' novel 'World War Z', with an author going around asking people of their past experiences.

Would anyone like to contribute an idea for a setting of a particular setting? I can only think up so many.
