:? I've seen allot of different meanings of furies.
-people dressing up in animal costumes and going to conventions.
-people in animal costumes r**ing each other (yiffing)
-people putting on diapers and getting into animal costumes and pretending to be babies.
can someone please explain to me what furies are and what they do?

Well. All those are true, in a sense.
But, it's not *all* furries that do that.
Some have fursuits, some go to conventions, some have sex in their fursuits.
Some are baby furs too.
Though, just wanna clear up, that "yiffing" Is just furry slang for sex, and isn't limited to being in a fursuit.

What you need to understand is that media in general gives furries a bad reputation. Many furries attend cons in fursuits, that is correct. But not many participate in anything sexual and I've never even heard of the last one you are mentioning. :S
Furries are people with an interest in anthropomorphic animals. That's the only real definition. What they make of it, is up to them.

By and large, Furries are just people who share an interest and/or love for anthropomorphic animals. There are various other aspects to the fandom, such as therians (of which I also identify as), but the interest in and love for anthros is the unifying trait among furries. That, and actually considering yourself to be one, as a number of anthro artists don't consider themselves as furries.
To me, it sounds like a lot of your thoughts about furries have come from the mainstream media, who as Puncia said, have demonized us at almost every turn.
