Title: Concerning the two-word minimum
Post by: WingedZephyr on April 28, 2011, 05:38:56 AM
I've noticed that for quite a while now, many members of the forum have frequently "padded" their posts in order to avoid the two-word restriction on posts. Please be aware that this restriction exists to cut down on spam posts. Posting a reply just to say "okay" or "lol" is, really, meaningless spam. When you post "okay (word)", it completely defeats the purpose of the post limit, and is still meaningless spam.

This has become so increasingly rampant throughout the forum, that it's gotten to the point where Tweak and I have discussed treating it as a violation of the rules.

It's only two words. Please take the time to actually come up with something to say instead of dodging the restriction.

Just to make sure, does this apply as well for some forum games such as 'Counting to 1,000,000' and 'Versus mods' where the objective is to post a specific number or similar?

i would assume it would, because in those two threads the basis is to post the noumber yes, but people tend to chat freely aswell. meaning that you have a way to post what you need to, chat and meet the requirements of the two word minimum. but thats just what i think, tweak or wingedzephyr might have something different to say.

Originally, I was more accepting of the post padding for the purposes of those two specific threads, since you could post just a number and still be contributing to the thread. But since people have been abusing the post padding, it will no longer be acceptable there either.

No just filler posting where while writing two words people often write such things as "(word)" or "(word) (word)" to bypass the two word limit. Now it's no longer acceptable anywhere on the forum.

And that means any variety of post filler no matter how you write it out.

(word)
(word word)
(two words)
*word*
-word-

...Or other varieties of "post padding" to get by the two-word restriction are not allowed. In other words, all posts must be more than one word long, and the post should actually contribute some kind of conversation to the thread.
