Title: Practice... Practice... Practice... And hopefully it gets better.
Post by: Fly Boy on April 26, 2011, 11:16:03 PM
I've done alot of drawing before joining this forum and now, looking back on those early drawings, Practice does help.  :D

Anyways, I'll start off with some earlier stuff:

I originally started drawing characters for my story (http://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?topic=15588.msg728780#new (http://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?topic=15588.msg728780#new)) and honestly, I had to go through multiple different drawings just to get the character that would eventually become my fursona right.
 First Drawing:
*Just Imagine the fur in the next drawing all grey, my scanner is messing with me*

In better colors:

Then I put it in MS Paint:

All that for one character and One Drawing :P

Post Merge: April 26, 2011, 11:21:20 PM
After that drawing, Came a one time thing for another character. All I have to say about it is... Meh

Photo bucket finally cooperated. But after that last picture, my drawings start to have a personal story behind them:

This one was my fursona holding a fursona I made up for this one girl I had a crush on, and I almost got her to go out with me, but she saw me as too much of a friend. :/
(http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii175/flyvboy/CCI04262011_00002.jpg)

(At this point I got some Cray-Pays and tried to use them)
I took a break from drawing it seems, and started again for another Girlfriend. She was the first one to know that I was a furry and she saw herself as an arctic wolf so:

And Another, the pastels did not like me at all, and IDK what happened to my face. Somehow both faces look... evil. o.O

I would recommend looking at some anatomy and trying no to forget about joints and bends, but it looks like its improving

^ Most of the stuff I already posted is very early stuff, I'm just starting to get into my better, more recent drawings. :D But thanks, I'll prolly do that the next time I do a larger picture.

Newer Picture, AKA I got really bored in English class one day:

Then This was my AVI before Kite did my current one.

I'm now working on getting that one colored in MS paint.

Then, My latest and greatest (I think).

It's not yet colored because I only have a 50 pack of colored pencils and I think I would Ruin it if I color it. But eventually I'll try.

^ I used paint.net to finish the Deagle Picture and just to say I love the program and I will defiantly be using it on later projects.

Here's the finished product  B)

Same as before, work on anatomy. Oddly enough that gun is pretty good quality, becuase the "anatomy" was perfect.

The Deagle's lineart is very nice ! Smooth, clean and sharp lines connected to form a perfect gun <3 You just need some practice with characters anatomy and i guarantee you'll see the results very quickly. Just keep drawing =D

^Thanks, the Deagle is my favorite gun and i referenced a picture on my computer the entire time while drawing it.  ^_^

Do you guys have any good articles that I can read about anthro anatomy? Being in high school I have nil time to try and find these myself. :/

Amazing What I'd do when bored enough.

it helps if you make an "outline" of a drawing before you start. its basically a stick figure. and then simply, fill it out. also, most people are about 3 heads tall. but you ARE improving. keep at it, brah

After some reading, I drew this because I was bored and restless one night then took 3 hours to color it. It's a little something for a friend I met here  :3

Just did this in my spare time, took an old drawing and inked it on the computer:

Before:

After:

I don't really like how Grey turned out on the right, the heads just, meh. But "Foxy", as I've named the other character, turned out pretty nice considering I did almost nothing to her.

But an artist is rather Biased toward their art, what do you think? Any suggestions for something for me to draw?

Meh, I don't like how this one turned out, but it was my first drawing that I did completely on the computer, with a mouse and everything. But anyways, a backstory: I recently set up Dual monitors on my computer and I wanted a desktop that was "Me" and stretched across both screens, so this came about with my two favorite characters of Foxy (I don't have a better name for her yet) and Jacob Grey (Myself).

PS this is a HUGE IMAGE, 5120 x 2048 ! To download/see the full one follow this link (http://flyvboy.deviantart.com/art/At-the-Pool-243335092) to my DA picture.

Happy birthday to me! I spent four HOURS on the lineart for this next piece last night, making me stay up until midnight, but it only took me about an hour or two to get it colored  T_T

But this is a request from a RL friend were I needed to make my character John Austin from my ongoing story (It's the End of the World As We Know It (http://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?topic=15588.0)) have an "epic scene". So I made it a Dream sequence and drew this picture for the story:

John woke with a start, cuddled up against Molly. He just knew  someone or something was out there. Clad in his camo pants and black undershirt, he scooted away from Molly, not awaking her, and ventured outside the tent to investigate. Carefully stepping to avoid making any excess noise, he moves past the campfire, now only embers glowing on the pitch black night.
Then he sees it, clear as day, only about ten yards away from where he's standing. A lizard in an entirely green military uniform. The blood red star of Communist Asia seemed to glow where it was stitched onto both sleeves and the front of this soldier's hat. Everything slows as the lizard spots John and the canine draws his standard issue Berretta pistol. The lizard starts to bring his Kalashnikov to bear, but it's too late. John has already pulled the trigger. A clean headshot on the Asian private. Suddenly, another dozen soldiers had surrounded John, each pointing their rifle at John's furred head. John chuckles, taunting the squad of lizards and weasels, then starts leveling every one once the gunfire starts. Each time John shoots he hits someone square in the forehead. He spots the leader fleeing, and shoots him in the leg for future questioning.
Molly rushes out of the tent, nearly screaming, "What the hell is goin on out here?"
"Another squad of Communists tried to take us out in our sleep, but don't worry, I took care of them."
"Well John," Molly says in a sultry tone, "it seems like I'm eternally grateful."
"Well how about you show me how grateful you can be?" John says matching Molly's suggestive tone.
A Twig snaps, jolting John awake. "Dangit, it was only a dream..."

I have so many Ideas but so little time to draw them, then I forget those Ideas  :(
But this is another little something I did over the past two weeks. It's funny how during school I'm more productive when I comes to artwork but once summer comes, forget about it.

I tried a little extra with the shading, It's rather difficult to get it how I like it in PAINT.NET.

It's been forever since I posted here... I guess school can do that to a person.
Well, here we go.

A manip of a real life picture where Jacob Grey (my main character) is sitting in the back seat of an L-23 Super Blanik Glider, waiting for someone to fly with. If anyone wants to volunteer to let me try and draw your character in the front seat, I'm willing. It will take a while though, due to school of course.

I'm currently working on a picture where someone is jumping out of the back of the plane. I have to framing of the door drawn out but nothing else yet, expect it this week actually.

2 months since I've actually posted any more here...

Anyways, This first pic is one I drew a while ago, didn't bother to upload. Quite simply, by Fursona, Jacob Grey, in the current U.S. Navy Service Uniform, doing present arms. If you notice, he's wearing Ensign (O-1) Bars on his collars. That's because he's not in the navy. He's in Navy JROTC. I just didn't bother drawing the little JROTC on his left collar.

Used some colored pencils here, and I think it turned out alright, might have stretched his right arm a little, but look! a Perfectly executed Present Arms!  XP

One more I drew a while ago. I originally drew it because of a girl's rejection, but I changed my mind last minute and tried to do something with 9-11, since it was around that time. I just never got to drawing the towers in the background.

Used colored pencils, and a blue pen for the tears. I think I should have done something else with the ears though, like them drooping to the side.
