Womp sat on the edge of a rocky cliff, his feet dangling as his rump preoccupied the ledge. The sun felt warm on his back and the view was beautiful. Although he never really liked to admit it when he was, the Cubone was actually enjoying himself. The ledge he was sitting on overlooked the forest that surrounded the town, and if he were taller, he was sure that maybe he could catch a glimpse of the busy town life, but for now, he was fine. Finally, the silence was broken by his gurgling stomach. "Alright, alright. I know we've worked hard." He patted his midsection and reached into his satchel that he usually carried over his shoulder, retrieving an apple. Suddenly, without warning, there was a low rumble.
The cubone, somewhat spooked and worried that it was another pokemon, scooped up his bag and placed it over his shoulder, grabbing his thick club, preparing to fight. Again, the rumble shook the ground, this time violently enough to jolt Womp off the edge. "Oh shit!" he shouted in surprise as he tumbled backwards off the cliff. His grip tightened on his thick club and he covered his eyes, knowing for certain he'd probably not survive a fall from this height unless some miracle happened.
He fell downward into a tree, hitting a few limbs, curses escaping his lips as he braced himself to hit the ground. Fortunately, a limb caught his bag, leaving the Cubone to dangle from a great height above what looked like a path. A few squirms later, he confirmed that he was stuck unless he wanted to fall again. At this point that wasn't an option given how banged up he already was. Womp sighed, hanging from the limb helplessly, small sticks hanging out of his skull helmet as he coughed out a couple of leaves. A few moments later, the apple he'd been trying to eat bounced down after him, knocking him on his head before splattering on the ground. "Damn it, whose side are you on?" he shouted at it, shaking his fist angrily.

Dash and Pitt were walking through the forest on their way back to town. Dash was wearing a bulging backpack, which was stuffed with various berries. They were sent to collect some berries for the Kecleon brothers' store in town. They weren't very close to town when the quakes hit which made Pitt freak out. Dash managed to keep his balance until it was over and looked to see if Pitt was okay. He was but he was ducking down with his paws over his head behind Dash. "Come on, Pitt. It's over. That was-" Just then he heard some rustling in the tree above them. Dash was a bit surprised to see a Cubone fall from it, suspended from a satchel on it's person. They walked over to investigate as he was yelling at the apple. "Uhm...Wha-...Are you okay up there?"

K rested peacefully underneath a patch of trees when he sounds of a nearby ruckus drove him out of his dazed reverie. The wartortle allowed an irritated sigh leave his lungs as he forced himself into an upright position to take stock of the scene.
"Can't a d**n pokemon catch some sleep around here?" He raged, his irritation rising due to hunger and a serious lack of sleep. IT HIt had been a few days since he had decided to go on this little escapade away from home, and after running out of food a day ago the trip had gone sour. With reluctance, K headed in the direction of the noise with half a mind to beat them into oblivion.
-
Ember was walking along on a dead fallen tree, wobbling back and forth as she kept her balance. For some reason she had felt like having this tiny bit of fun while she was out in the forest outside of town, which was surprising since she was generally pretty serious and didn't play around. She had her moments though and that just happened to be one of them. She was literally shaken from her fun time when a couple rumbles came from the earth and shook it. Loosing her balance from the shaking, she fell off the dead tree and landed on the ground on her stomach. Grumbling to herself, she pushed herself up off the ground and got to her feet then dusted herself off with her front paws. While standing there on her hind legs, she looked around as if she could find the source from which the shaking had come from.
-
shade was sleeping unter a fallen tree he had fond the night before. his staff layed alongside him when the ground rumbled. he started to wake up, yawning when the ground shook, part of the tree breaking of and stabbing into the ground next to his head. he slowly sat up when he heard a loud thump not far away. he looked over and saw a Quilava getting to it's feet. "you right there? your blocking my exit...."
-
The cubone looked at the pichu as if it were insulting his intelligence just by asking that question. He put his palm under his chin, resting an elbow in the crook of the bag as he hung there, holding his bone with the other hand attempting to look as comfortable as possible. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine... You know, I'm just... Enjoying the view from here.... Hanging around." His voice was thick with sarcasm as he grinned melodramatically looking a little too comfortable for his position. However, his expression changed in a split second, "No everything's not alright, you idiot! Here I am hanging from a limb by my bag! I don't do this for kicks!" Womp squirmed angrily, waving his bone at the duo of pichus as if he were tempted to use an attack. He stopped after he realized that he was beginning to make the limb holding him wobble, but only long enough to clutch to the bag. "Now tell me this... How often have you seen a Cubone in a tree? Huh? Cubones aren't exactly tree dwelling creatures, if you ask me." He spit out another leaf towards the pichus and crossed his arms, a bit irritated both with his predicament and the two below that wanted to just look up at him and not take action.
-
"Well excuuuuse us." Dash said. "Are we gonna help him, Dash?" Pitt asked quietly. "Yeah...But how...?" Dash replied, putting his paw to his chin. Pitt mimicked the gesture, trying to think as well. Suddenly Dash had an idea, making him take off his backpack. He walked away a bit and emptied the contents from it. A large amount of berries poured out and finally a folded up blanket. He grabbed the blanket and flung it about to unfold it. The blanket was fairly large, oddly large for a Pichu to be carrying around. He went over to Pitt and handed him a corner of it. "Help me tie this around the tree." he said as he went towards the tree Womp was hanging from. Pitt was questionable about what they were doing but did it anyway. They tied one end of the blanket around the trunk of the tree and proceeded to stretch out the other end of it. It was stretched out under Womp for him to jump on. However it wasn't very high off the ground due to their size. "Okay, jump! We'll catch you!" Dash said up to Womp.
-
Despite the cacophony of noise, K realized it had been the quakes that had woke him up. But his grumpiness at being awoke during one of those precious moments of unplanned sleep drove him to find the cause of the noises, which now included two more additions. As the wartortle approached the voices, he spotted two Pichu attempting to makeshift something for what looked like another pokemon hanging in the tree.
"What in the...." K muttered, stifling a yawn as he sat to watch the charade.
-
Ember's search was distracted by the sound of an unexpected voice coming from the dead, fallen tree she had been walking on. Looking down, she saw a new opening in the tree caused by the quake and through it she saw an infernape inside. "Oh. Yeah. Sorry." She said then side-stepped out of the way so she wasn't blocking his exit. Since she was one who didn't talk much, she kept her answers short. Whenever she talked she tended to go right to the point instead of giving long responses.
-
"what were you doing anyway?." shade asked steping out from under the tree. he reached bach in and grabbed his staff before turning back to the quilava and looked her over. "you got a name? or are you just another punk who's scared of a fight?" he moved his staff so that it pointed at the stranger while touching the ground next6 to his feet. his eyes watched for any movement, waiting for any sort of attack.
-
The makeshift trampoline looked very... Questionable to the Cubone as he inspected its worth from the branch. "As much as I'd like to jump down, what if you guys aren't strong enough to catch my weight and the blanket jerks out of your paws?" he asked, skeptically. "Plus... I'll have to leave my bag. And I'd rather not have to do that." Womp moaned, feeling defeated. "This is just my luck." Another rumble jolted the ground, this one more violent than the last two. Womp clung to his bag, fearful that it would be strong enough to knock him out of the tree. Unfortunately, the cracking of the tree's roots indicated a much worse incident on the way. The cubone's eyes grew wide as the tree began to lurch forward toward the pichus as the ground came to a hault. He couldn't get anything out of his mouth past a short winded gasp, fear preventing his voice from forming any kind of warning as the tree came down.
-
"Then you would likely fall to your death. And die." Dash replied up to the Cubone in a sarcastic tone. He and Pitt fell over when the quake hit, dropping the blanket. When the tree began to fall Dash moved out of it's path quickly. He looked back to see Pitt not so quick. "Pitt move!" Pitt froze seeing the tree falling, forcing Dash to spring into action. He tackled him out of the way just in time to avoid being crushed. Dust enveloped them from the tree hitting the ground, making it looking like the two had met a gruesome fate.
-
K watched the unfolding scene with mixed amusement until the ground rumbled beneath him uncomfortably and the tree came crashing down. The shaking causied him to hit the ground until the rumbling stopped, and afterward to break his silent observation to run over the the rubble and try to see if the three pokemon were okay. However, with the dust pluming the way it was, it was nearly impossible to see anything without it getting in his eyes and causing them to water profusely.
"Can anyone hear me? Are you guys okay?" The wartortle called, squinting from the dust causing his vision to be obscured to only vague blurry shapes.
-
"Walking. What's it to you?" Ember responded to the infernape's first question as he exited the tree. She had the urge to push the point of the staff to the side to make it so it wasn't point at her since it irritated her that it was. "Fighting is nothing to be afraid of. Just have to determine when it's worth it." She said, looking off to the side casually. "And the name's Ember." She looked back at the infernape and it was at that moment that the ground shook again. Wobbling off-balance on one foot, she tried to stay standing but failed and fell on her butt on the dirt. "I'm really getting tired of this." She grumbled while looking at her feet out in front of her.
-
"sorry about that. can't be to cautious around strangers these days." he said puting the staff in its holster on his back. the ground shock again causing him to step backwards and slip on a small rock. he landed seated up against the tree and looked around. "i wonder whats causing all the earthquakes. their to many for it to be nothing and to quiet to be part of a battle." shade got up and walked over to ember and offered a hand. "i'm shade."
-
Another stroke of luck had made Womp's bag swing backward near the trunk as the tree fell. Not thinking much past the heat of the moment, the cubone clung to the trunk when the opportunity offered and closed his eyes, half expecting to be squished in the process. Thankfully, some of the thicker limbs had kept the trunk from falling completely on him, and now he was a mere foot or so from the ground. He didn't know this, however, because his eyes were practically sealed shut along with his mouth clamping down hard, expecting pain and death at any moment. It wasn't until he heard a voice that he realized that he had made it through the fall. After a few tense moments, he opened his eyes, looking around to locate the source of the voice. Womp was still unable to respond to the voice, his nerves hardly allowing him to relax. Instead, the cubone sucked in a deep breath, attempting to calm himself. When he released it, he also released his grip from the tree's trunk, falling onto his back limply, and not much caring past the fact that he was alive. He closed his eyes as he laid there, attempting to steady his breathing into something more shallow and relaxed.
-
Both Dash and Pitt coughed from the dust keeping their eyes closed for the most part. Dash got to his feet and grabbed what he assumed was Pitt and carried him out of the dust cloud though it settled quickly enough. Still both coughing for a moment Dash inspected his younger brother. "Pitt, you okay? Are you hurt?" "I'm fine*Cough*...Really." he said dusting himself off. Dash did the same after making sure Pitt was okay. That's when he remembered the Cubone. He looked back to see it on it's back under the tree. Pitt, however, took notice of the Wartortle nearby that they hadn't noticed in the commotion. "Hello." Pitt said shyly. Dash looked and saw him too and moved himself between him and Pitt. "Don't talk to strangers. You might end up their lunch." Dash teased. As soon as Pitt was moved behind Dash Pitt sneaked off to see if the Cubone was okay, unknown to Dash. "Are you okay?" asked Pitt staring at the Cubone with his head to the side.
-
"Hel--" The wortortle hardly had a chance to get the word out his mouth before the first Pichu was gone, and in its place was the other. From first blush, and their interaction with each other, it seemed the two had escaped the quake and falling tree unscathed. K wiped the dirt from his eyes before once again facing the remaining Pichu.
"Do you know if the one that was in the tree is okay as well? I didn't much catch what happened after it went down.."
-
Ember got up from the ground without taking the help offered by Shade. It wasn't that she was mad at him or anything since she had no reason to be, but that was just her way. It wasn't like her to take help from someone else. She nodded in acknowledgement to the fact that she had heard him say his name then began to dust herself off. Looking around from where she stood, she then started to walk off in a random direction to possibly do some investigating or something.
-
"your not to social are you?" shade asked blankly watching ember walk off. he decided to follow after her for something to do. "so you going anywhere in particular?" he looked around calmly waiting for a reply and saw some dust settling through the trees. "huh, a tree must've fallen over during the earthquake, wanna check it out?"
-
A long winded sigh escaped the cubone's lips as he stretched out his arms, feeling a little better. He was still somewhat shaky from the adrenaline, every moment or so rubbing his nose. For some reason whenever Womp go worked up, his nose would begin to feel as if someone was tickling it. He again let out a deep breath and sat up. "Yeah, I'm fine. A little shaken, but I'm fine. Is everyone else... Not squished?"
-
"I'm not sure...I-" Dash stopped when he noticed Pitt not next to him. He saw him near the Cubone and rushed over to him and swiftly put him in a headlock. "Hey stop it!" Pitt shouted trying to get out of the headlock. Dash started to give him a noogie after that. "Don't run off again or I'll tie you to a Snorlax!" Dash barked in a cynical tone, like a typical older brother. "Ow ow ow! Stop it! Okay! I'm sorry! I was just trying to see if the Cubone was okaaay!" Pitt cried out. His discomfort was clear as day. "What if the tree fell down? It would have smooshed you." Dash said in a stern tone. After saying that Pitt slipped out of the headlock and fell on his butt holding his head, eyes watering from the pain. "Good to know you're okay." said Dash after the Cubone had responded. After that he checked to see if Pitt was still next to him, which he was.
-
The wortortle just shook his head, after following long enough to see the other pokemon was okay, and had the pichu taking care of it in some sense of the word, he wandered away from the area in hopes of getting some distance in case another quake decided to occur. Though just as he was about to take another step, he decided against it, and turned back just in case the two rambunctious Pichus couldn't handle a vandal on the road with their injured friend.
-
Ember smirked when Shade asked if she wasn't social. When he asked if she was going anywhere in particular, she shook her head as she kept walking along. Spotting the dust settling in the distance when Shade mentioned it, she nodded yes that she was going to check it out and kept walking in that direction. She could hear someone crying out in the distance, but wasn't too worried about it so she didn't quicken her pace any.
-
shade grew bored of following ember and ran off ahead. he reached the fallen tree and quietly clibmed up on top of it. he smirked looking dawn at two pichus and the worturtle he could see. "everything ok down there?" he asked camly after looking back to see if ember was still walking over.
-
Womp got to his feet, looking around. It seemed as if more Pokemon were gathering around by the minute. There was the two pichus, a wartortle, now an infernape. The cubone crossed his arms, observing. "Gee is this a family reunion or --" before he could finish his smart remark, a small bulge kicking up dirt, similar to a mole shot under his feet. It caused him to drop backward onto his rump in the dirt behind him letting out a "HNNK" kind of sound. He sat there for a moment, watching the bulge continue onwards, blinking. "Damn it! What's the big idea? Ever hear of manners?" he shouted, again, waving his bone angrily. This time, however, instead of idly threatening, he reared back and used Bonemerang. Unfortunately, his attacked missed, but without hesitating, he scooped up his bag and took off after the trail before his bone even made it back to him. "Get back here, you little!" he shouted, barely missing barreling over the quilava as he chased it.
As the Cubone disappeared in the distance yelling at the mysterious creature making the trail, not bothering to see if the others were following, a small rumbling became apparent. Unlike before it wasn't anything violent or large, but it was still there nonetheless. The rumbling began to get more powerful as whatever was causing it drew nearer. Without warning, several bumps similar to the initial one shot forward following the same trail as the small one. There were bumps of all sizes, at least fifty in total, tearing up dirt and knocking over the others in the process. One of the bumps accidentally scooped up Pitt in the process, carrying it along with it in the process.
-
Dash was fairly baffled when something got the Cubone so riled up. It was also a bit humorous. He turned around when he felt the other rumbling, looking at the wave of bumps rushing towards him and the others. "Holy-..." just then he was knocked off his feet. He managed to be tossed off the path of the stampeding...Dirt. Dash quickly got to his feet looking for Pitt who he couldn't see. "Pi-" "WEEEE!!!" Pitt cried out. In the middle of the stampede he was riding one of the bumps as if it were a Horsey. "Pitt! Get down from there!" Dash barked as he gave chase along side the stampede. "This is so much fun! Weee!" Pitt continued happily almost not noticing Dash. Dash had to run on all fours to just barely keep up. "PITT!" he continued to shout to his brother who was looking to have the time of his life. Dash was both angry and concerned at this point.
-
"What in tha......" The wortortle's thoughts being cut off by the movement of the 'things' underneath the ground that now carried off the more naive of the Pichu brothers. As he watched the other chase behind, he sighed and tried to run and follow, but wasn't much for catching up. Mentally, he tried to figure out how in the world he could have gotten into this mess, when his morning had started with innocently enough with his first nap in a long time.
-
Ember rolled her eyes when Shade ran off ahead of her. "Lacks patience..." She thought to herself as she continued walking. She didn't get to get all the way to the fallen tree ahead though since she was almost barreled over by a cubone running after a bump moving through the ground. As the cubone had run past, Ember had simultaneously turned to watch it as it went past, which had also helped her avoid getting knocked over. When the large group of bumps came through, she stumbled backwards but managed not to fall over as she watched a pichu get carried off and another one chase after him, running past her. She would have just walked along to follow the bumps to check out what they were but she would have lost them if she didn't move at a fast pace. Going onto all fours, she proceeded to run after the bumps moving through the ground.
-
shade thought for a moment before acting. "yea why not." he sighed jumping down and running after the bumps. he noticed the wortortle trying to keep up and grabbed it on his way past. "thought you could use a lift." he followed after the others as fast as he could with the wortortle on his back weighing him down. "any clue as to what they could be?" he asked while running, carefull not to trip on anything that may have fallen during the earthquakes.
-
As the cubone neared catching the first one, he began losing his breath. He'd been able to run, but not so fast and so far. In a last ditch effort, he leaped, planning to land on top of the bump. However, the bump disappeared going further under ground just as he landed. He skittered on the ground, kicking up dust in his wake; disappointed with his lack of prey, Womp layed in the dirt for a few minutes. When he could convince himself to look up, he realized that he had chased the bump all the way to town. Womp was still pretty angry from the the turn of events leading him here, but at least he could sell what he had in his pouch for Poke.
The other bumps continued tearing through earth without so much as a passing glance to their pursuers. They too pulled the same action as the smaller bump, disappearing further underground with the exception of a few of them. One of them was the one carrying Pitt. It continued into the town and past the square as if it were going somewhere with haste and purpose. The cubone merely snickered when the Pichu shot passed him, cheering as if he were having a ball riding the thing.
-
After being picked up by the Infernape, the wortortle went from being shocked, to a bit annoyed, to grateful as he knew there was no way he would have been able to keep up at his pace.
"Honestly, I have no idea... Thank you, by the way. The name is K." He replied, watching until some of the bumps disappeared, and the others continued to carry the other Pichu away.
"The world must be falling apart---first its quakes, and now its these odd creatures."
-
Ember swiftly slid herself to a stop when she realized that she had run all the way into the town. As she actually paid attention, she realized that most of the bumps had disappeared though a few of them continued on through town, including the one with one of the pichus on it. "Well that was highly unsatisfying..." She mumbled to herself as she looked around her at the surrounding buildings.
-
"shade." he said slowing down to a stop next to the cubone that had run off first. he set the k down he looked around and spoted ember not to far away. "you ok over there?" he called before noticing the two Pichu, one of which was having the time of it's life, the other looked like it was going to have a stress related heart attack at amy moment. "should someone help him?..."
-
"I guess so." The cubone said as he took off again. He wasn't running this time, but he was following the trail that the bumps had left behind when they got to the town. "Seems like everything is going to hell around here." Womp muttered as he did so. He looked back to the others to see if they were going to follow. "We're gonna need all the help we can get if we want to get his brother back."
-
Dash chased the bump all the way to town apparently. He was a bit shocked really, but pushed that out of his mind as he focused on trying to get Pitt out of harms way. Pitt continued screaming periodically with joy, he was really enjoying himself on the ride. The thought of throwing a rock at Pitt had crossed Dash's mind, that or his pokeflute. But he didn't want to risk breaking it. He didn't notice the others had followed either, his primary focus was Pitt. Dash was getting tired at this point and couldn't come up with a good idea to get Pitt safely. Once thing was for sure though, he was sooo going to kill him when ever he did manage to get him.
-
"I guess my conscious wouldn't let me leave without getting him back..." The wortortle sighed, scratching the back of his head with a feeling of awkward resignation. He really wanted to write off the incident as a lost cause and get back to his nap, but something nagged him from the back of his mind that told him he wouldn't be able to sleep anyway at the thought of leaving a pokemon in need. And, by the time he tried to sleep another quake would come. So K silently followed the Cubone after its remark, feeling that talking any more would be useless.
-
"Fine." Ember said in response to Shade questioning if she was okay. When the cubone started to take off again and stated that they were going to need all the help they could get, she shrugged and started to follow after him, though not at running pace this time either. It wasn't like she had anything else to do with her day anyway except wander aimlessly so at least that way she would be doing something constructive with her time.
-
shade followed along with the others, still wondering about what was causing the mounds. he quickened his pace a little and caught up with the cubone, he looked him over quietly before returning his attention to the two pichu's and the mounds of moving dirt. a thought suddenly acured to him, "wonder why the townspeople arn't causing a fuss, surely they can see these things?"
-
"Maybe they're pokemon?" The Cubone said making its way past the Kecleon shop. It did seems as if the townsfolk were hardly taking notice of the mounds as well. The mound with the pichu was still in view when it plowed into another pokemon, however, this pokemon was too big to knock down unlike the others. The pichu also slammed into the pokemon, more specifically into its leg. The blastoise looked down quizically at the Pichu, but before the pichu had any time to explain, a diglett popped out of the ground, causing Pitt to tumble to the side. "Digle-dig," its face seemed worried, but relieved at the same time seeing the blastoise. The cubone watched curiously, half wondering what was so urgent.
-
Pitt hit the blastoise's leg with a thud. After rolling off the diglet he held his face in pain from running into the blastoise. Dash was quick to get to him and pick him up off his feet. "Pitt are you okay?!" he asked worried. He was still holding his nose from the impact. Dash had forgot he was exhausted from running as he checked to make sure his brother was alright. "Ow..." moaned Pitt. Dash turned to the blastoise and started yelling at him. "Hey! Why don't you watch where you're standing next time!!" he shouted shaking his fist. He was pretty agnry with the blastoise, having caused his brother to be injured. He totally forgot that he was angry with Pitt for taking his little joyride.
-
Ember followed the others casually as if nothing was really going on. Once she got around the Kecleon shop, she saw that the pichu had been knocked off the mound when it ran into a blastoise and now a diglett had popped up through the dirt. "I should have been able to guess that it was one of them..." She thought to herself as she watched the other pichu ask if his brother was alright and then start yelling at the blastoise like it was his fault that the diglett had run into him causing the pichu to fall off when it wasn't his fault at all. She figured it was just the pichu's worry that made him snap though and switched her attention back to the diglett, wondering what was so important for it to get to.
-
shade walked over and picked up both picus casualy, not wanting to agrivate a water type. he walked back over to the others and put the two down then looked over the group. "wonder what's got that diglett so riled up? or if it was them that started those quakes?" he spun around as he sat, turning back to look at the diglett.
-
The blastoise looked less than amused when the Pichu began to scream at him. He crossed his arms, listening, then smirking when the infernape picked them up. "At least somebody around here has sense. You got big dog syndrome, little one." the blastoise chuckled heartily. The diglett below him seemed even more panicked, bumping into the blastoise's leg over and over until the blastoise diverted his attention to him. The blastoise crouched down low, getting down to the level of the diglett. "What seems to be the problem?" Before the diglett could explain, a Golem and a Houndoom rushed to the blastoise as well with a few diglett and dugtrio.
"C'mon Augustus, we're needed." the houndoom said with urgency. "Apparently Moltres has awakened and has a few of these guys' relatives." The diglett nodded furiously at the houndoom's notion, speeding off in the direction from which they all came, again, almost knocking the cubone over again. The golem nodded once, then rolled off after it, bumping the cubone out of the way and onto the others.
"DAMNIT, THERE'S NO WAY YOU GUYS CAN'T SEE ME!" Womp yelled furiously. "I mean, REALLY?"
"Alright Brandt, let's get there before something bad happens." The blastoise, crouched down, then took off running past the others, the houndoom leaping over them.
The cubone looked at the others quizically. "WELP, I'm gonna go see a show." The cubone marched off.
-
"Put me down!" Barked Dash angrily as he flailed about in the Infernape's grasp. Pitt however was still holding his nose. "Ow..." he grumbled lowly. Dash watched the Houndoom and Golem come over and take the Blastoise away. "You better run! Big jerk!" he continued to flail. Eventually he crossed his arms almost forgetting he was being held. His anger turned to the Infernape quickly. "Put me down ya big mankey! Don't make me hurt you!" Dash growled. He was apparently angry, there was no hiding it.
-
During the entire scenario, K remained silent and observed until the three pokemon decided to venture off. The wartortle was very tempted, now that the Pichu was safe, to return back. But his nagging thoughts reminded him with whatever conflict was going on, he most likely wouldn't see shut-eye until all of this was settled and the quakes ceased. Grumbling, he followed the Cubone, half-amused and half-irritated at its persistence.
-
Ember observed what happened with the newcomers, the blastoise, and the diglett. She turned and watched them curiously as they ran off. After that, she looked at the others and became annoyed by the pichu's yelling. "Just shut your yap already, will ya!" She snapped. "It's not his fault that the kid got carried off so stop taking it out on him" With that, she followed after the cubone to see what was going to happen with the other pokemon that had rushed off.
-
"you know, your tempting me to see just how far i can throw you..." shade said looking blankly at dash before turning to pitt. "are you ok?" he asked walking behind the others putting pitt up on his shoulder carefull to avoid any of the flames on his body before looking back at dash. i supose your just going to complain for a while?"
-
As the cubone pressed on, another rumble shook the ground. This one was lighter than the others, but it was still a quake nonetheless. The cubone looked to the others, watching curiously as they interacted. Before long, a few diglett and dugtrio were following the group in a small crowd. They looked rather fearful, but seemed to be relying on the small group to keep them going bravely. The cubone stopped when he got to the mouth of a cave. He crossed his arms, "They definitely went this way..." He pointed downward at the small divot from the diglett and the tracks from the other three pokemon. Again, another rumble interrupted the cubone's thoughts. It caused a few rocks to fall from the roof of the cave and roll outward onto the path. "I don't know about you guys, but I at least want to follow to see what is causing these quakes. Those pokemon know more than what they are telling us about the situation, obviously." His arms went from being crossed, to one hand on his hip, the other limp at his side, holding onto his thick club. The rocks falling from the ceiling didn't make the cubone comfortable, the cave already giving off and eerie feeling, alongside with a substantial amount of heat; but Womp figured he'd test his luck again. He'd already managed to survive a few risky incidents.
-
Dash huffed and crossed his arms angrily, it seemed he wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. "I'll be fine..." groaned Pitt softly in response to the Infernape's question. "Don't talk to strangers, Pitt. They might eat you." warned Dash. He still didn't seem happy, but he was knowing that Pitt was okay. More often than not his over protective nature got the better of him and he seemed like a grumpy little Pichu, but he had his reasons.
-
Ember smirked at Dash's comment about strangers possibly eating Pitt. "I don't eat my enemies. I charbroil them." She spoke back over her shoulder and grinned. As Ember walked on following the cubone, she noticed the few diglett and dugtrio following them. She paused as another rumble shook the ground and caused a few rocks from the roof of the cave to fall and roll outward once they hit the ground. "I've come this far to see what's going on, not like I'm going to turn back now." She said in response to the cubone then turned her head and looked back toward the others, lifting her right foot and resting it on top of one of the rocks that had rolled out onto the path.
-
"eh, you wouldn't even bw a snack for me. my metabolism is to fast." shade commented after hearing ember torment dash. he wtched the rocks fall and sighed as womp spoke. he loosened his grip on the pichu a little more before raising him to join his brother when emper walked over to the cave. "it's nice and warm....thats a plus." he smirked moving closer to the enterance to the cave.
-
The cubone followed after the infernape, peeking out from behind him and going inside the cave. As he entered a shrill call could be heard in the distance. It sounded like the legendary bird that the team from before had spoke of. Although Womp knew that his type was strong against fire types, he didn't feel very confident knowing that Moltres was awaiting them at the end of their journey. The bird was, after all, a legendary pokemon. The diglett and dugtrio behind them seemed nervous as well, and jumped whenever Moltres's calls echoed off of the cave walls. After a while of walking, Womp began to sweat from the heat inside the cave. He was only glad that the cave wasn't pitch black at the moment.
-
Dash didn't say anything when he was lifted onto the Infernape's shoulder. Pitt was looking around the area from atop his shoulders, marveling at the view. His child-like curiosity restored, pain from before gone and now enjoying his new ride. Dash, too was looking around, though not really enjoying the ride rather watching for dangers. For all he knew a bunch of Zubat's could fly out of the cave and snatch up Pitt as the Diglet did.
-
K was quietly following the Cubone, wanting nothing more than to Hydro Pump the Quilava into oblivion for being nothing more than a bully. Sure the Pichus were being a bit ostentatious, but then again from his observations it was in their natures. He decided if one more snide comment was made for light intimidation, the quadruped would be trying to dry itself for the next few years. Smirking at his decision, he tried to ignore the sweltering heat emanating from within the cave and focused more on being wary should another quake occur and cause a chain reaction.
-
Ember followed along into the cave when the others entered. As she walked along, she enjoyed the heat that she was feeling. It made her feel like she had more energy and it actually felt more comfortable to her in the cave than it had outside. It was also while she was walking that she saw the smirk on K's face and got the impression that the guy didn't like her. She didn't really care if he didn't like her though because she didn't have any need for friends anyway.
-
shade smirks while tilting his head so he could see pitt on his shoulder. "you having fun there little guy?" he looked the other way doing the same so he could see dash while still smiling. "relax, if anything is coming after any of you it has to get through me first." he instantly shot a look forward into the depths of the cave as moltres' loud call echoed as if to question his statement. "that on the other hand might be an issue....."
-
The path was rocky and uneven through the cave, but the cubone managed just fine. It was the heat he wasn't used to. Before long, a creature shot out and barreled into the group, hitting Womp first and causing a domino effect on the rest of them. Whatever it was had hit them hard, hard enough to make Womp's head spin to where he couldn't stand up on his own, so he just plopped forward again on the cave floor, literally seeing stars. It had scared the diglett and dugtrio into retreating underground until it became obvious who the creature was. It was Brandt, the houndoom from before.
"Oh good, I was just going out for help." the houndoom said, sounding a little shaky himself. "My attacks hardly do anything to Moltres hardly, and.." he stopped taking in a breath and shaking his head, "He's burned Augustus badly, and he was supposed to be our main weapon. Titan, the golem, I don't think he introduced himself, is trying to tend to Augustus's wounds and hold off Moltres at the same time. Most of Titan's attacks don't effect Moltres, so he sent me out to find help, and look what I find, another rescue team, I presume. Now come on! We don't have much time!" Brandt took off running down the cave's path, calling out over his shoulder, "Run as fast as your little stumpy legs can take you!"
Womp got up, only hearing about half of what was said, and tried to run, stumbling and falling a few times, still not right from receiving the blunt force of the houndoom running into them.
-
Pitt nodded at Shade's question before looking around again. However Dash looked away from his. "Yeah yeah..." Just then a figure bowled them all down, making Pitt and Dash fall off Shade's shoulders. Dash's quick reaction allowed him to grab Pitt before he hit the ground using himself to cushion the fall. Even though they didn't fall that far...As the two stood up Dash inspected Pitt seeing he was okay. They listened to the houndoom speak, Pitt's eyes lit up at the mention of a rescue team. When he ran off Pitt tried to go after him, but Dash had grabbed him by the scruff of his neck. "No you don't. That's too dangerous." Dash said sternly. "B-But!" "No buts. We're not going to fight a legendary of all things." Dash continued. "Come on! This is what we practiced for though!" complained Pitt, grabbing his brother's paws. "Pleeeease?!" he continued. He was flashing some puppy dog eyes at Dash who was looking away, though Pitt's Cute Charm ability was making Dash slowly reconsider. "...Hmpf...Fine." he said making eye contact. "Would ya stop looking at me like that?" "Yay! We're a rescue teeeam!~" Pitt exclaimed happily before jumping onto Dash's back. Dash then started giving him a piggy back ride through the cave, a slight smile on his face.
-
K fell back against the ground hard, though his shell caught most of the blow and pushed him up against the wall thanks to the other pokemon from before. He listened as the Houndoom explained their situation and returned back into the depths of the cave. "Awesome. Homicidal legendary pokemon on the rampage, and the group from before can't even put a dent in it. Better and better by the second..." He grumbled mentally, dusting himself off. The wortortle then forced himself to his feet and starting running deeper into the cave, wishing his common sense weighed more than his sliver of a conscious.
-
Ember fell onto her butt from being hit by the domino effect. As the houndoom spoke, she slowly got to her feet and dusted herself off once again as she listened to the report on what was happening. "We're not a rescue team... And my legs aren't stumpy!" She thought to herself as the houndoom ran off back deeper into the cave and she looked down at her hind legs then shrugged after a moment. "Well, they do say to 'fight fire with fire', so..." With that, she began running down the cave's path after the others who had already started after the houndoom.
-
shade's eyes went wide as the houndoom knocked over womp, sending the cubone's club painfully into his gut. he doubled over, falling down like all the others winded. he crawled to his feet as the group started heading further into the cave. "wait up." he called following after them.
-
Womp was pretty much running at the same pace as shade, if not slower from being busy and falling so much. Anyone who was a passerby would have probably been under the impression that he was drunk by the way he was walking. When he finally caught up with the others, he was surprised to see the scene that Brandt had described in its entirety, however Brandt had not fully explained the dangers. Sure enough, the Blastoise from before was badly burnt, hardly able to move while the golem guarded him, deflecting any attacks that he could that Moltres was dishing out. They were on a large ledge above lava, and an opening in the top indicating that they were inside a volcano. The bird was swooping down every so often, taking shots at the blastoise, however, the golem wasn't allowing it the opportunity. Behind Augustus, there were the digletts that the Moltres had held hostage using the large and injured pokemon as a shield. Despite how grim things were looking, Augustus was assuring the diglett that they would all get out fine to see their family.
Brandt ran to the golem's side and assisted him in protecting Augustus. Unfortunately, as he did so, the Moltres took notice of the others entering the cave. Ecstatic to see their relatives in good shape, one of the dugtrio made a bee line for the others, but was cut short when the moltres flew down and spouted off the move Heat Wave. Flapping its wings and throwing off ember, it hit the dugtrio squarely, making it faint in the process. The blastioise looked over to the others, an uneasy look on his face. "This is your help?" he asked Brandt, seemingly worried and angry in one fowl swoop.
"Look, they can do it, we've done most of the damage and most of them have type advantages. There's even a mini-you in the party, so just appreciate the fact that I came back sooner than you expected with some help." Brandt spat, angry that Augustus wasn't more appreciative. While the Moltres was distracted, the Golem silently knocked the two together and pointed at the others in an attempt to get them to quit arguing and to focus.
The moltres shot back up into the air, letting out a shrill cry as it readied itself for another attack, this time on the newly arrived group. Womp merely shook his head, attempting to "undizzy" himself. He clutched his thick club, also readying an attack.
-
Dash and Pitt watched the the scenario before them along with the others. Pitt wanted to follow the Dugtrio but was prevented by Dash, luckily because the Dugtrio was fainted shortly after it's mad dash for it's friends. They watched as the Moltres readied for an attack on them and looked at each other. "Just like we practiced, eh bro?" smirked Dash. "Mhmm." Pitt nodded. They gave a fist bump and readied to dodge out of the way.
-
K eyed the legendary bird with both apprehension and excitement, the two making his stomach twist into nervous knots. From its body language, the wortortle knew it would attack them soon since it had its fun already with the more experienced group, and left them roughed up. Casting a fleeting glance at their group, he saw that while at least four of them had a resistance or type advantage on the bird, they weren't exactly the dynamic group of brilliant fighters that should be here fighting in their place. "Guess instead of fighting clean and fair....we'll have to play dirty to win" K mentally muttered to himself, his eyes back glued to the bird trying to ready himself to react should it attack sooner rather than later.
-
Ember stopped quickly once she reached the ledge. She observed the scene as she stood there with the other pokemon who had followed as well. When the dugtrio made a break for its family members, she watched as the moltres attacked it and easily made it faint. She let her eyes move to where the houndoom, blastoise, and golem were, watching them converse with each other. Hearing the cry of the moltres, she quickly turned her attention back to the legendary pokemon and watched it, preparing to either attack or dodge if the moltres attacked the group.
-
shade swallowed hard at the sight of the seemingly infuriated moltres. he noticed the dugtrio and went to stop it just before moltres attacked it, instantly making it feint. "well.....this should be interesting...." he sighed half looking over at womp. he drew his staff ready for moltres' first attack.
-
The Moltres came down, screeching loud enough to make the others cover their ears. It used Sky attack, attacking the center of the group in an attempt to hit all of them. The cubone attempted to move out of the way only to trip over its own feet due to how dizzy it still was. The moltres shifted in mid attack going for the easy prey, that was, in this case, Womp who was struggling to get back up.
-
Dash and Pitt both covered their ears from the Moltres' screech. Dash looked up to see the bird going for the cubone. "Pitt, Thunder wave!" he said pulling Pitt's paw away from his ear. Pitt nodded and used Thunder wave, sending lightning towards the Moltres. Dash joined him in the attack and used Thunder sending a bolt of lightning at him as well. Hopefully it would hit, or cause the Moltres to change course enough to miss the cubone.
-
K sat there for a few seconds, watching the potentially disastrous scene unfold until he too sprung into action, falling into a more sturdy position before releasing a Hydro Pump behind the Pichu brothers' attacks. He hoped the attack would at least clip the Moltres' wing and the type advantage plus the pressure would cause it to lose some of its edge to give the rag-tag group a surviving shot. There wasn't much in conscious thought that was running the Wortortle's movements, it was pure survival instinct. With every bit of it riding on the fact that his first attack would give them an opening, or at least distract the bird long enough for the Cubone to recover.
-
When the Moltres screeched as it came down, Ember quickly covered her ears and gritted her teeth. She watched as the Moltres redirected its attack at the cubone since he became the easy prey then the pichus sent attacks at it followed by the wortortle. As she stood there, she tried to think of what to do in a very quick fashion but she knew that if she used her best move, she would hurt everyone else in her group. With a shrug, she deemed it to be necessary and performed the move Lava Plume. "This may hurt..." She warned the others.
-
shade lept out of the way of moltres' attack still holding his ears, he turned slightly and saw the fallen cubone. sliding to a stop then dashing forward he slid along the ground and grabbing the cubone. as soon as he noticed whet ember was about to do he pushed womp behind a nearby rock and dashed for dash and Pitt, realising that they would be more effected then either k or himself.
-
The Moltres confidently dodged the two lighting attacks with its precision flying, however, in its quick moment of recklessness it was hit squarely with the Hydropump. The attack made it fall downward, making the lava plume attack miss it as well, however, Ember's attack hadn't missed the two pichu brothers, or K and Shadow. The Moltres weakly caught itself, from falling down into the oblivion of lava, but just barely. Again, it shot upwards, readying to attack. For a moment it glowed, using the attack Endure to ensure that it wouldn't be taken out by the next attack.
Womp's eyes had about bulged out of his skull when Shadow had swept him up, however, he was grateful for the two times the infernape had managed to save him. After the lava spattered against the rock, the Cubone stepped outward again, this time his head more clear. He was a little agitated that Ember had used an attack that risked the others. "Next time do something to hurt the Moltres, not us!" he yelled shaking his bone angrily. Preparing for an attack, he reared back, getting ready to use Double Edge. As if on que, the Moltres came down, and in the same instance, the cubone jumped upward connecting with Double edge.
The moltres tumbled downward, landing on the ledge that the others were while the force from the attack flung Womp into the opposing wall, causing him to be on the verge of fainting. Moltres gathered himself, getting to its feet, letting out another shrill cry, and spreading his wings, causing lava to fly outward at the others, though, it wasn't an attack. More of a display. Moltres looked down on the others panting, glowing one more time for another successful Endure. "How dare you all awaken me?!" His powerful voice echoed throughout the cavern. "You must be the ones who are causing all these disasters! Especially if you have no problem upsetting the balance by awakening me!" he growled.
Womp merely laid in the rock pile that had tumbled down on top of him after he had been thrown, attempting to move, shaking from fatigue.
-
Dash was a bit defeated his attack had missed, however when Ember's attack came Dash took the full effect of it to prevent harm to Pitt. Gritting his teeth in pain for a moment he looked Pitt over. "Are you alright, Pitt?" he asked. "I'm fine...Thanks, bro..." Pitt replied. Without hesitation Dash whirled around looking at Ember. "What where you're aiming hot stuff!" he snarled at her angrily. He didn't mean anything sexual by calling her "Hot stuff", but it fit a fire type. He looked over to the Moltres again just before it almost landed in lava. That's when the cubone jumped into action. The two brothers watched the following scene curiously. Pitt tried to scamper off to see to the cubone but Dash grabbed him without even looking.
-
K allowed a relieved sigh at the Hydro Pump's hit, but was soon cringing at the Lava Plume, even though it didn't affect him nor Shadow as much as it could have the others. He almost considered drowning the fire-type, but instead allowed the angry Pichu's words to be enough and turned his attention back toward the Moltres. "You're a funny guy. I wouldn't be here if those earthquakes would have allowed me to finish my nap. But since you've been so considerate, I might only half drown you". The Wartortle allowed a cocky smirk to surface, but internally berated himself for his seeming overconfidence. The taunt was to try and divert some of the attention away from the others toward the two fire types and himself, as they could take the hits much more readily than the other three. But even a few not-effective hits from the legendary could probably floor them if they weren't too careful, and that fact weighed heavily on K's thoughts as he managed his facade and tried to come up with a good idea for offense.
-
The others yelling at Ember really ticked her off. "Lava Plume is my most powerful move and I warned you all, so screw off!" She snapped at them all, even the ones who hadn't actually said something since she easily knew they wanted to. Now that she was highly irritated, it would be the perfect time to use Frustration if it came to her doing another attack since it would be more powerful at that point, though it would be difficult to hit a target in mid-air with a normal-type move and that was why she hadn't used either of her normal-type moves. She had a strong urge to just make the group fight by themselves because that was just how she reacted to things normally since she generally didn't care for others safety anyway. Listening to the moltres speak, she just shook her head at its stupidity.
-
shade shot a blank look across to ember before hearing the moltres speak. he smirked deciding it was his turn to try something. "hay, k was it, how goods your aim?" without waiting for an answer he sighed "don't miss." he ran forward jumping up using his staff to launch himself so he was right in front of moltres, he seemed to hover there for a second before using close combat after letting out a loud screech, his fists and feel blurs as he unleashed a mass of heavy hits. as soon as he finished his attack he kicked off moltres' head and landed behind k panting as his body tensed and cramped from the stress of the rapid attacks.
-
The moltres folded its wings over itself when the infernape unleashed a fury of blows, however, it was unable to avoid being hit when the monkey pushed off of its head. It stumbled backward and retained its balance, and leaned forward, still panting. It dimly glowed again, somehow managing to use Endure for a third time. The next time would more than likely fail if he attempted it again, indicated by how dimly he glowed.
Womp, a little insulted no one came to help him, attempted to stand, his limbs shaking under him causing him to fall again. "We didn't do anything!" He shouted as best as he could. "These quakes have been happening for a while now, we didn't cause them. We're just as lost as you are." He managed to pull his head up to look to the Moltres as he spoke. "I-I-Infact, we came here to see if... See if we could find out what's going on."
The Moltres eyed them suspiciously, not letting down his guard, ready for another attack. He cawwed loudly, his call echoing off the walls in the cavern.
-
K fought the urge to curse at the Moltres' use of Endure as he took the chance to follow up Infernape's assault with one of his own, releasing a second Hydro Pump that equaled the first in terms of intensity at the bird. While he knew it wouldn't take it out, he hoped it would weaken it enough for them to have a shot at defeating it. The Wartortle knew he couldn't manage more than one or two more effective attacks of that magnitude, so he moved to stand in front of the struggling Cubone to play some defense in respect to its contribution to weakening the legendary. "Now what...?" K grimly mused, glancing over at the group, before returning his reluctant gaze to the bird. The heat was stoking his discomfort, and caused sweat to roll from his brow as he waited for retaliation.
-
Ember crossed her arms as she watched Shade attack the Moltres then listened as Womp tried to convince the Moltres that the group wasn't the reason that it had been awoken. It seemed to work somewhat but then K attacked the Moltres. Ember wanted to bang her head against the wall since that probably provoked the Moltres so it would most likely attack again now. She kept her eyes on the Moltres, still fuming and planning on using Frustration if it attacked the group again.
-
The Moltres was hit hard by K's attack, however, Endure had kept the Moltres from fainting completely. It was weak, however and dropped down a little bit, waiting for its demise to an extent. The diglett that had lead the way down was over by the ones the Moltres had taken hostage. Before more could be said, Brandt stepped forward, for once attempting to aid the others with informing the Moltres, "The Cubone doesn't lie, we came down here to rescue the pokemon that you held at bay, and from my understanding they came down here to investigate the quakes going on as well. None of us know the source... I've heard there's natural disasters going on everywhere, not just here... And it ranges to more than just quakes." The houndoom seemed a bit worried as he spoke, hoping that Moltres would listen to them. Moltres continued eying them wearily. As Brandt spoke, he made a motion to the diglett and it took off out of the cave with its friend. Moltres was too focused on the numerous other pokemon to pay mind to such a small loss. "If you still want to fight, at least let the injured or hurt go, and Titan and I will stay."
Moltres nodded in response, though, it wasn't entirely clear what it wanted at that point, a fight would be pointless as weak as it was. With that Brandt turned to the others. "Kids, if you're not hurt, help get the injured ones out of here. Titan and I will meet up soon. Augustus, you get out of here with them, too. You're too badly burnt."
The blastoise opened his mouth as if to protest, but closed his mouth as he realized that he was going to have to protect the younger pokemon despite his injury if something were to come up as they exited the place. Womp merely laid in the rocks, his energy spent.
-
Dash listened to the houndoom speak and grabbed Pitt, taking him over to the fainted dugtrio from earlier. "Hey, wake up!" he shouted at it. He slapped them in the face a couple times to no avail. "Dang it...It's not waking up." Dash said putting his paw to his chin. "Can't carry it out. Hmm..." Dash put his paws on the dugtrio and shocked it a bit to try and wake it up. However it was ineffective and did nothing, leaving him to ponder more.
-
K walked over in the Cubone's direction after listening to the conversation, feeling internally pleased his attacks at least did enough damage to mean something but careful to not let it show on his face. He noticed that it was pretty much incapable of making it out on its own, and would probably need some assistance. Instead he looked over in the Infernape's direction and waved, trying to get his attention since he had the size and ability to carry someone more readily than any of the others including himself. "I want to stay and finish this but...then again, no matter how weak the bird is, I'd rather not end up out of my league." The Wartortle sighed to himself, hanging toward the back waiting on the others to ready to leave the cave, more ready than ever to take out his pent up aggression at the Quilava whose grand idea was to attack everyone but the Moltres.
-
Ember watched as the Houndoom continued to try to convince the Moltres that what was being said was true. When the Moltres agreed, she looked around to see the others already taking care of the injured. It wasn't like her to offer help anyway, but in this situation she would have if the others hadn't already been handling things. She moved over to the entrance to the path out of the place, waiting for the others to start leaving so she could follow behind.
-
shade walked over to where k and womp were once he could, sitting down against the rocks with the moltres in his sight. "nice shot k, looks like you did the most damage." he sighed looking as his hands and hand like feet, all four now redder than normal and sore. "lets hope this fight is over before anyone else gets hurt." he said nodding his head in the direction of the unconscious dugtrio next to the two pichus
-
Womp grunted and attempted to move again, managing to crawl out from the rocks before stumbling over again. Today is just not my day, he thought thinking about how big of a fool he must look to the others. First it was the tree, then taking the blunt force of Brandt's charge, now Moltres's attack. He was hardly sure how he hadn't fainted yet. Someone somewhere must have it out for me. Yeah, that's it.
Blastoise stood behind the others, trying to shoo them along into the mouth of the cave, while Brandt and Moltres merely eyed the others impatiently.
-
Dash started slapping the fainted Dugtrio again to no avail. He didn't notice Shade come to them, though Pitt did and looked at him without saying anything. Suddenly the Dugtrio shook and sunk into the ground. Dash looked into the newly created hole to see what happened. A Diglet popped out with and angry face looking at Dash. He looked at it with a raised eyebrow for a moment before it left, taking the Dugtrio with him through an underground tunnel it had made. "Welp I tried." said Dash. "Come on, Pitt. Lets get out of here." he continued as he moved towards Pitt. He zoomed passed Shade with Pitt and they scurried towards the exit.
-
K took a moment, before noting the wear and tear from the Infernape's attack, deciding maybe it would be better if he tried to help the Cubone out. "Thanks. Though you did a good bit yourself, including giving me the opening for the second attack. Think you can handle carrying him?" K said as he glanced over toward the Cubone. The Wartortle noted that the original group and the Moltres watched impatiently, so instead he grabbed the Cubone's arms and pulled him into a piggyback position over his back. "Nevermind. They look like they won't wait much longer, lets just clear out." K muttered, before heading back toward the entrance of the cave at a slower pace with the Cubone on his back.
-
shade walked towards the exit slowly, following k and the two pichus "i'll take him if you want." he looked back at ember, noticing she wasn't followint the others he turned around and walked over to her. "you ok? you don't look to happy."
