Just wondering if anyone here plays/has played any of the three Super Smash Bros. games?
I own all three, but I haven't played them in a while. And I hack Brawl (I've made 60 of my own hacks) and play Brawl Minus; it's fun. But I haven't even played that in a while. I love all three of the Smash games, though.
I used to play Brawl competitively, and I've joined ladders on All is Brawl (was 8-7 in the 2009 Holiday Singles Ladder). I was pretty decent, as many others would agree, but not the best. I wound up quitting the game in early 2010, though.
My mains for each game:
64: Link, Yoshi, Samus
Melee: Marth, Ganondorf, Link, Roy
Brawl: Lucario
Here are a few most recent videos (and they're not recent) of me playing aggressive-friendly Brawl matches with one of the top Lucario players in th U.S.:
- Abyss (Lucario) vs. Trela (Lucario) #1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wa-5OHE55fQ)
- Abyss (Lucario) vs. Trela (Lucario) #2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBjgHN5WwcI)

- Abyss (Lucario) vs. Trela (Lucario) #4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtIn4JOledg)
Here's a few Brawl hacking videos:
- My favorite hacks in Brawl Minus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NU_U0aCz6lQ)
- My first hacked Brawl stage (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMuC3j9M76o)

Those were some pretty intense fights rawr, I love those stage hacks. I looked into it, but I didn't want to trouble with it.

They sure where. And yeah I know, right? The world of Brawl hacking amazes me so easily; people come up with the coolest stuff ever. And I see lol. I started hacking it November 13th, 2010.

I was pretty BA and melee and the original. In the original Kirby and Link was where it was at. Melee I played almost everyone, but played best with both falco and marth. You just couldn't beat falco speed or marths range. I never played competitively, but I probly could have gotten away with in in Melee.
I suck at Brawl lol

Yeah Kirby has pretty much lost the effectiveness that he used to have, but Mario is still pretty good :P
-
I have the original and Melee.(Don't have Brawl. Sorry :( ) I haven't played both lately, but I will play them from time to time. I used to be really good at both though. :3
For the original, Ness and Kirby were my mains.
And for Melee, Ness and Mr. Game & Watch were my mains.
Haven't ever played competitively, but I could have probably done so when I was in my prime.

Ness and Game & Watch o.O How in the world did you pull that off?!?!
Those are by far my two worsts lol

I just like to play with underrated characters, and I played enough with those two that I got good with them.

I played as Lucario when I played competitively, but for fun I like using Captain Falcon, Ike, Link, Marth, Ganondorf etc.

I own Melee and have played a bit of Brawl on a friend's Wii.
Roy is my main in Melee, and I liked Ike in Brawl.

Ah. No 64? Roy feels heavy and self-destructs easily because of that, and Ike's pretty fun to use.
-
Nah, never owned a 64. I played on my cousin's sometimes, but he didn't have Smash.
I like Roy because I like to make stuff BURN. >:3
I also played as Zelda/Shiek a lot in Melee, but ended up favoring Roy by the end of the game.

I was always good with Wario and Ness/Lucas. I was bomb at PK cannonball!
-
I love Wario naturally because of the Wario Land games on Gameboy Color and the original Warioware, a pretty comical protagonist so even though his moves not might be the best, but it's funny to watch him fight :P

I enjoyed that attribute he possessed as well.

The original Super Smash Brothers is still by far my favorite. Melee and Brawl just didn't feel the same to me for some reason, but I still think they're fun. My friends don't let me play as Samus anymore. :P
-
That's the first person I've heard from to like the original compared to Melee, I like the original as well though I was never too impressed by Jigglypuff, except when using that B-down move so that's why I hate the first roster of unlockable characters x.x. But Ness was pretty awesome :P

I play Smash Brothers Melee all the time. My main is Yoshi. Yoshi is actually a much better character than some people may think. Sure, his recovery sucks, but for the most part, his 2nd jump is usually enough to recover. Plus he has some good power, plus decent moves. He's a character some take for granted.
Also, I never understood what "Wave dashing" was.

Fox is another favorite of mine. That blaster and the reflect ability are awesomely fun. :)

A wavedash is a technique in Melee that causes a character to slide along the ground without walking or running. It transfers the momentum of the air dodge into a spurt of ground-based movement. Like L-Canceling and Short Hopping, wavedashing is considered an advanced technique, and one of the first techniques smashers learn when they train for tournaments.
Contrary to the common belief that it is a glitch, Wavedash is actually a physics exploit because while sliding from an airdodge is an intended part of the physics engine, the uses found for it weren't intended. The competitive community has thoroughly explored the applications of wavedashing in a match setting and its widely varying uses in modern tournament situations are clearly beyond what was possibly intended during development.
In competitive play, Mewtwo, Luigi and the Ice Climbers players make heavy use of wavedashing as their primary movement, while users of nearly every other character wavedash frequently for positioning and maneuvering
