OK, so I got a 47% and a note saying "Do over" when I was asked to write a poem about how I view the world. So I turned in this:
My Fyaunce
The best of situations cleft with the worst
A dark reminder of life Lost and passed.
Peers and colleagues rush through existence;
Can their sight be freed?
The sanctum, my grim respite
A truth demanding poets' silence, forthwith.
It aint great, but its the best piece of free-verse I've ever done, methinks...

I think it's a great poem, a lot of thought went into it.
But are you sure the F wasn't for another reason? Like it was supposed to be longer or you were supposed to use a certain style? Teachers are harsh on requirements.
If not, then I say it's beautiful and there was no reason you should have to do it over.
