Some one recently moved into the room next to mine, and he blasts the bass from his music incredibly loud. Imagine those cars on the highway which drive by with their bass blasted, and this is what I have next door in my dorm. I can actually feel the d*** bass in the floor. I already asked him once yesterday to turn it down, and he has it back at full volume today.
Any advice on how to fix this?

Well, if you want to be passive, report it to someone who can make him lower the volume, or wear headphones/earplugs.
If you want to be active, either confront him again, match his bass with an even LOUDER bass, or destroy his speakers >=3
That last one, isn't real x3

The last one may not be real, but don't think I haven't thought about it. XP Thanks for the advice!

I had that problem years and years ago. I asked him twice to turn it down. The third time I went over there I took a fifteen pound sledge with me, and made it so his speakers couldn't annoy me any longer. He went out and bought an MP3 player with good headphones.
Yeah, sometimes it is entirely appropriate to kill a fly with a sledge hammer.

why not report it at the staff desk? (assuming you live in a dorm) they'll probably do something about it
-
Yeah, I'm going to talk to my floor RA as soon as he gets in. Thanks for listening!

I have this very same problem. I have had it for 8 months. I have tried everything. Nothing helps.

Well, if all else fails, I know a bored Marine you could call. ;)
Only trouble is, he lives in Hawaii. :P

Thank you very much. I have a difficult time suffering fools.

If you still can't get him to stop, you can call the police and file a noise disturbance. Should be a curfew, and after that time they can't make any noise past a certain dB level.
Been there, done that, the cops have the key to the city...
