I have fallen in love with a figment of my imagination. I am a furry. It is an anthro I have fallen in love with. It is a male black panther. I, too, am a male. I am not gay, or bi. I am straight. If anything, bi-curious currently. I dream of this character. And when I do, I am filled with happiness. But not just that. Sadness. Longing for that which cannot be. I dream about being with him. I dream about killing myself and being with him in heaven (NOTE* I will, in reality, never do this part.). He has no name, none that I can discern. I want to be with him, and it can never happen. When I daydream about him, i feel a lessened feeling of longing. And even then, the pain is too much. I don't understand. I myself am human sometimes in the dreams. Other times, I'm my anthro self.
What does this mean?
I asked my friends, and one of them, even though he didn't tell me until later, had a friend. Who was a girl. Who was a furry. Who's fursona was a male black panther. He theorizes that this is a dream about my soul mate. I have to say, it seems a lot less than a coincidence. And I would like to know.
What are your guy's and girl's thoughts?

Interesting, perhaps. But I don't think finding your soul mate is as easy as all that. Well, that wasn't helpful of me, sorry! But that's all I could think of.

I just want to know what you guys think it means. Its actually tearing me up inside, like I'm getting dumped. Repeatedly. I feel heartbroken, and I dont know why. It might be a true experience with a 6th sense, but I want to know what you guys think.

Unfortunantly, no. The last time he saw her, it was in 5th grade. He moved to Allen Park that summer, so I dont think he knows where she is.

But, that aside... To be honest, I wouldn't be entirely sure what you feel for this panther character is actual love. Longing, certainly, but not quite love. I'm not trying to downplay your feelings or anything, because I'm sure it feels very real to you. But perhaps he's just a representation in your head of what you want in a mate. For example, you want to be with someone who's caring, sweet, and funny, so you've created someone in your mind who fits the bill, and you place him in your daydreams because being able to imagine an actual person/furry is more gratifying than just having a faceless blob of wishful ideas to dream about. You know what I mean?

maybe. but why would it be a guy if im straight? or maybe it just has nothing to do with it. maybe its the strength that im looking for. or maybe I just want something in-human to be with. lol. i could never do anything normal. whenever it cam to anything, it always had to be somthing everyone else shunned. thats the main reason why I became a furry. then, it really grew on me, and the doppleganger became what he truly wished. part of a group that would shun no one. now look at me, rambling. i just want to get these feelings under control. but the strange thing is, deep down, i dont want to. i want to dream about this person. i want to be with them. i want to find true love, i guess is what you could say.

I dont think it anything out of the ordinary
little girls dream up there romeo and end up will falling in love
but i think its the idea of the thought that makes you feel like your in love, so if you were to really find this person you would instantly attach yourself to this person.

Lol, i'd try not too. If she isn't interested, i can't say that I didn't try. but not many girls would go for me, anyway.

I have decided, that, instead of talking to her, that I won't even try to get with her. Only because I beleive it would be selfish of me to go and try to win her, when she probably has a boyfriend, a life, something that I won't get for a while. And she'd think I was creepy.
So I will content myself to drawing the panther of my dreams. I got 2 done. With luck, one will never be seen by anyone on the forums. If you find it, don't tell me about it. I'm not proud of it.

its that dont settle for anything less than your soulmate, or who you think might be your soulmate.

I already said it was fine. Besides, I wouldn't be able to get with her, even if I met her. What would you say if some random stranger went up to you and said "I've been dreaming about a panther. I think it's you! :D " How creepy would that be? So I dcided not to.

What you need to do is commission someone to make you a black panther plush (just like the one in your dreams). Being able to hug it and sleep with it may help alleviate your situation some. I believe the psych term is "imprinting". It's one in a sea of a reasons people become plushies, or fursuiters...

If I could become a 'plushie', i would turn into a plush-stuffed animal. But I know what you really mean >.> I might do that, but not until I start getting my own income :'(
