Well, the new Pokemon games are here.
I have yet to play either one of them but I have heard they are good from a many of people.

Has anyone else played it yet?

No matter how I look at it, these names all sound silly to me. I'm sorry if I'm sounding rude, but I just can't imagine a Pokemon with any of these names as its official name.

Geeze, I hear Serperior got the best stats and moves out of the three 5th gen starters. No offense to fans, but why do the sucky pokemon always get the best stats and moves?

It's mostly because of his Dream World ability which raises his stats when he uses moves like Leaf Storm. ...Hmmmm... Then again, it ALSO lowers everything when he uses Ancient Power or Silver Winds. The thing is, Leaf storm would NORMALLY lower attack every time, while Ancient Power or Silver Winds raises stats 1/4 of the time. Plus, Serperior has the best speed. Oooooooh. Lucky for me, America isn't getting the Dream World.

I can't really check, so I'll take your word for it. I was mainly going off of this:
The new Water-type starter Oshawott from the upcoming 5th Generation Pokémon games has been the target of this (though it's starting to turn around) on a certain Image Board, with pictures ranging from the other two starters trolling him into thinking he's unliked to him being the last one to be picked (a fairly long time after the others)...by a trainer who likes and wears blue as well and asks him to be his friend.

what I meant that in ALL other Pokemon games, you could catch Pikachu without going to the WTC. This one... no... it no do that.

I personally think Conk-Eldurr is a lot cooler than Gurrdurr. Also, Conk-Eldurr pretty much proves my Kung Fu Granny theory.

yea, Gurdurr is friggin messed up and disturbing.
I love my Serperior, Emboar and Samuwatt.
I only had to encounter drilbur 3 times before a shine-rare showed up. I have a couple shine-rares now, not many, but a few. Anyone else having better luck in this game with shine-rares, too?

in thunder cave, look for clouds of dust that appear in the ground. those are drilbur digging through the cave. use repel so you don't have an encounter before you get to it. you just have to walk over the cloud of dust.

shine-rares are more than just recolored. they're also stronger than their none-rare counterparts. their stats and stat growths are higher.

I have Black.
I was getting really ticked off trying to catch Victini 'cause I would have its HP extremely low and it would still pop out of the ball. While I was finally REALLY raging on it last night, I tossed a Great Ball and finally caught it. Guess I just had to get infuriated. lol.
I'm loving the game though. My starter was Tepig (named him Dimitri) and he has evolved once already. I'm really trying to work on having my other 5 Pokemon up at my starter Pokemon's level though because I usually don't do that, I usually just switch them out for other higher level ones that I catch later. Heh.

Victini was a pain on my Black version. Im starting my White today, im building a team for the game since i have experience with what pokemon there are, movepools etc.

How do you all train your Pokemon?
I try and train ALL my PKMN evenly, even the ones stuck in the PC. All of em are lv. 20-30... Not the fastest way to do it... xD

Basically you could use one of those "exp shared" items and use it would be an easy way to do it all at once, so in that case you could basically level them all up equally, but it will take 6 times longer :P

Oh yea, would be near impossible without em. I put out 1st PKMN (Holding Lucky Egg), retreat to a "babysitter" (One that's strong, but still needs exp.) win, and all 3 get some! :3

Well, I don't train all of mine, just the ones I have in my group. With those ones, I just change it so the lower level pokemon is the first one in my group so I can battle wild pokemon with that pokemon without having to switch to it and waste a turn.

play the game on your own terms, i'll play on mine. i prefer to transfer any pokemon i can't get from my version from another to start. you don't like it, tough luck. i bought only 1 of each version, and intend to only buy that many. I'd rather get what i need initially rather than wait for Vee to get far and just breed her's and be short 1 pokemon. i still trade her for what i can't get from my version, but believe whatever you want. no one likes a sore sport.

Chill out, dude. I'm just yanking your chain. I'm not a sore sport, I just think it's a bit unfair to have all three starters. Also, the Rude Version/Kind Version business, I see people do that a lot on other forums. I think it's kind of catchy, to be honest.

did anyone else notice that if you 1-hit a pokemon from a move, the HP bar drains extremely fast no matter their level and it creeps slowly when you do the same but with a crit?

Lol actually I didn't do it the hard way, I just shortly turned on the "catch all pokemon" code and fought Cheren then Bianca, capturing the other two pokemon after beating them up and that was it for that. Oh and I use the "double running speed" code so it doesn't take forever to get somewhere. To me, even if I put two of the four DS's I have at home together to do the same thing in 30 minutes by trading over, it's really not going to matter lol. (Collected all the DS versions)

I have to admit I don't like the DSi XL because it's too big and I don't have the 3DS yet, I'll wait till the price goes down in a year or so and after some noteworthy games come out. There is one thing I realized though, by doing it this way it's actually better to use that code because then you don't get the "trade over" level up quickly issue which will ultimately lead to the pokemon leveling up way too fast and becoming untamed x.x

ugh, using lucky egg and lvling my side pokemon right now. just lvl'd victini to lvl 37, and stopping. it's taking too long at this point. got alot of my pokemon lvl'd up and evolved since last night. stopping the main story line so i can have most of my pokemon caught up.

I fainted several pokemon on the part before the forest and I caught a strange pokemon that I had only seen ONCE after like 2 hours of training in there called Audino, is it worth training?

I dunno, but it's worth lots of tasty experience points if you DESTROY IT.

Except unlike in the Thunder caves, you won't be disappointed with finding a stupid rock instead of the pokemon in the grass like you do with the dust clouds.

I still use my Pansage (gotten four badges so far, having difficulty with the fifth) because I find it useful when I go against water-types that my Pignite wouldn't do well against.
I can't remember if I've caught anymore grass-types, so I've just stuck with the Pansage since he was already in my party.

yea, i hate those monkeys, also, if you didn't read my previous post, they do NOT learn anymore moves if they evolve, which makes it worse. i just evolve them and place them in my box and say goodnight to them, it's just not worth my time.

I'm not planning on trading/battling until I get all my Pokemon to at least lv. 60 and beat the game, so it puts me out for awhile.
Still can't find those little patches of dirt... :(

easiest way to do it in cave for drilbur is to use repel so you can explore and find those dust clouds. as for audino, i got mine by luck. it's hard for me to see that subtle grass movement. i have no problem with trading, but i won't be battling until my pokemon hit lvl 100.

this game is awesome. One of the first pokemon I come across is a purple cat with lynx features. words cannot contain my excitement. also the 2nd gym. almost got roflstomped by it. anyone else?

I've been playing a bit of Black on my friend's DS, she lets me do some level grinding for her. I've learned I have a fondness for Dwebble. It's so cute. I got to evolve it into Crustle, too. X3

Ah, that explains it. I have Black, so yeah. I've only seen a Sawk two or three times though, I think.

yeah finding a Sawk in white is the same way you find audino just happens like only 3% of the time

Audino is awesome for experience! too bad its rare.

Audino is handy when fighting rock-types. Those moves don't effect it as much as they effect my Emboar.

also, always use the Lucky Egg so that it gains more EXP. Audino's like the replacement for Chancey, extremely high HP and defense. but yea, has anyone picked up the two rare pokemon at the Victory Road gates yet? I already did, but I wanted to see if anyone else has.

Most trouble I had was with the 5th gym. Other than that, they weren't too bad for me.
I need to go backwards through Victory Road and train some more though since I've realized I'm going to need higher levels to get through the League and N.
I love the fact that in all the Pokemon games, my name is one letter too long to use, so I just use "Vee" instead and now in this game the "bad guy" is named "N". Would have been even more perfect if I had just used "V" but I had no clue that the person's name was just going to be one letter.

Cuz, the object of the game is not only to "Catch em All" but to also beat the living fuzzotle out of anyone that you come in contact with. Whimsicott isn't too conductive to that end.
But yes, he is very cute. :P

I don't worry about strong or weak pokemon. I go for cute looking pokemon and pokemon that really strikes an interest to me. And I always win.

Use the amulet coin in gyms. Tons of money to be had!

If you give your pokemon nicknames, they are more likely to become friendlier to you

Use the Lucky Egg when you train them, ton more Experience points to be had!

Go to the Elite Four with the Amulet Coin. You get $12,000 each, and even if you lose after beating one, it adds up pretty good. :)
