So uh.. yeah bear with me here.
I've been on forums before but always under the guise of my RL self, but I'm only recently outing myself as a Furry.
One of those things. Been enamored with animation, and beastmen since childhood. Love ancient mythologies (centaurs, minotaurs, fawns and the like), Disney and similar styles of drawn/computer/and stop-motion animation, tales of Lycanthropy, and the works of Square-Enix (specifically Final Fantasy series races such as Veira & Mithra) and that sort of vein.
Been role-playing a Kerran (formerly Vah Shir) in Everquest and now it's sequel since the Shadows of Luclin expansion in 2001. And also play that particular character as my opposite gender though it is a bit harder to pull off now with the addition of voice chat. But always I play him as a bit of a tough guy and never really got him in touch with his softer cuddlier side.
Recently, through a friend whom I discovered also had such proclivities, was reintroduced to Second Life (I guess I have to post an additional intro in that thread, LOL!) which I had not played since I Beta tested it in 2003. I was pleasantly surprised to find how much the world had grown, and that it had such an array of Furries and Furry friendly activities, avatars, clothing and movements. As a result I have created this new Fursona, Nix Panthera, to try to more fully immerse myself in the Furry subculture.
I have to admit I'm a little intimidated. When I read others posts it seems to flow naturally, and I think I'm still in that awkward stage.
But hopefully you folks shall help me along, eh?

I play World of Warcrack and in their newest expansion, they introduced the Worgen (werewolves) as a playable race. Needless to say that I made one, and that pretty much every new character I make to play seriously is one. It's a nice outlet for my Furryness. The thing that I always thought was funny when the Worgen were announced was all the people complaining about how it was going to create this massive influx of furries, and I just chuckled to myself, thinking: "Dude, the furries are already here. We're just waiting for a new class or race that will let us express ourselves." :P

Hey Nix, nice to meet you! And I do believe we all have felt like you do, I suppose the 'natural flow' that you see in many new members is actually the courage of a keyboard and the firm belief that you are untouchable in any lasting ways... Perhaps its an internet complex...

@Aoren If I'm reading you correctly, you are implying that the forums allows us more freedom to express ourselves without immediate repercussions (i.e. telling a stranger over the internet is a lot different than say telling your mom or dad) then yes I would have to agree with you. :-)
Anyway.. some things I forgot to add:
I most closely identify (as seen in my profile) in the Felidae family. Specifically the snow leopard partially due to my RL appearance. I am pale (alabaster skin tone), I have freckles (spots), I have piercing blue almond shaped eyes (giving me a catlike illusion).
I like catlike things, such as pouncing, walking only on the balls of my feet, having my ears and/or belly rubbed, climbing stairs on all fours, and purring in certain situations.
Otherwise I have an extensive stuffed animal collection, which mostly now gets annexed by my daughter... but occasionally I will snuggle up to them while sleeping.
My most common pairing is lupine (the unexpurgated version of Red Riding Hood a perennial favorite) or vulpine (go ahead and ask me about my Star Fox fetish, LOL).
But uh yeah.. I guess you'll get to know me as I post more, and it's nice meeting everyone. :-)
