Hey everybody! This is the Poetry Slam thread, and if you are unfamiliar with the concept, it is basically a poetry contest. Don't worry though, all poetry is welcome, but keep it reasonably clean people. I know it sounds super-cheesy :D but everyone is a winner here, so nothing but CONSTRUCTIVE criticizm please. I'll start off:
I stare out at the ocean and reflect of my life
the ups and downs, and the thoughts that are always swimming there.
I smell the salty breeze as it pushes against my face
and it is good. It reminds me of my past, for better or for worse.
The sea was always there for me, though since then
I've moved on, my companions of a different nature.
I think about all that life has in store for me, the new ups and downs.
And just like the ocean, you will be there for me.
Another companion on my path, as I on yours,
Across the hills that blot the next steps we take from view.
Life will always be a piecemeal puzzle, every event a fragment
But it always goes easier with an extra pair of hands and eyes
To guide and be guided, just as the wind guides the waves.

These stars remind me of your eyes,
How they so twinkle in the night,
When were together everything feels right,
No one is between us, holding hands,nuzzling.
It was my dream to be here with you, Like the moon and earth,
We will always be together,
Forever.

Those feelings I have for
you are pure,
This I know for sure.
Without you I am incomplete,
Because your love for me is so sweet!!
