Title: Apocalypse Now
Post by: wolfman11243 on January 30, 2011, 12:57:30 PM
So guys, I just finished watching this 3 hour masterpiece (the redux edition) and I wanna know three things:

1) According to your opinion is it better then Full Metal Jacket?

2) Is it historically accurate and are there any notable glitches? (I found none, but maybe you see something that I don't?)

3) How awesome is it on a scale from 1 to 10?

Thanks in advance.

huh, i was watching the same movie this morning too.  So far i'm 2 hours in, and a resounding "meh"  so far, for me anyway, FMJ is better, but i'll let you know when i finish watching it.

finished it now.  come to the verdict that it was crap, 3 or 4 out of ten, and i wouldn't recommend it.  Certainly not the masterpiece i was lead to believe.

I liked the bridge scene and the "charlie don't surf" attack scene. Otherwise then that it was too long and too historically inaccurate. 5 out of 10. FMJ is way better and it has a bada** soundtrack. I guess that Coppola didn't "Get sum!" :)

Apocalypse now is one of my favorite movies of all time, hands down. Full Metal is right under it, (From now on you are Private Snowball!) Mainly for the boot-camp scenes, but AN will remain one of the greatest, in my book...
