Title: Hello. I *think* that I *might* qualify as a furry.........?
Post by: CrimsonEtClover on January 28, 2011, 01:00:18 PM: Hi everyone. I'm Crimson, and I was wondering if I could be called a furry. I've been lurking around, and I read a lot about attitudes and behaviors that seem real familiar to me. I've been familiar with the concept for ages, but only recently thought to research. What I found was a LOT of familiar stories!

Reasons why I may be a furry:
I have a strong affinity for my animal friends. I believe that my cat friends and my rat friends are capable of love, and that I have really significant relationships with them. I also talk for them and engage in conversations, speaking for myself and them at times. (My mother, father and sister also engage) I'm horribly guilty of Pathetic Fallacy. I would rather be hanging out with animals than humans ANY day. I feel more lonely with a group of friends at the mall, wheras I'd be perfectly content all alone at a park (squirrels, birds, dogs and alley cats!!!)

I meow, grr, growl, purr, play bite, and bite when I'm mad. Always have.

Have always, as a young child on, dressed like an animal in different respects whenever I felt like it. I was raised in a pretty artistic, free spirited household, so I did whatever I wanted. Cat ears headbands as everyday wear, drawn on whiskers, Animal hats, tail, collar with jingle bell, leash, you name it. This might not even sound odd with today's Hot Topic fashion, but remember that I was born in '81.

I don't have a "fursuna" (sp!) There is no separation for me of "This is what I do when I'm Joe Smith, and THIS is what I do when I'm Captian Kitty Pants!" Part of my everyday personality if to think of myself as a cat.

Freepaw?! Sign me up! I'm barefoot 24 7, I can climb with no shoes (like climbing up on barstools or the kitchen counter) I don't have any balance at all with shoes - its like I'm wearing scuba flippers! Also I always use my toes to pick up anything on the ground, like a pen.

My partner and I both pretend to be animals all the time together

Okay, forgive me for this dissertation. But what do you think? I honestly don't know if I "count" as a furry? Do I sound anything like other furries you know?

Of course you can be called a furry, if you want to :3
I guess your interest in the fandom should be reason enough for that!
