Visit OOC before posting. This first post is the only time I will godmod your characters and say where they are and what they're doing. I just want everyone to start in pretty much the same room so that interaction can start right away. Remember, it is important that you read through everyone's post made here thouroughly so you know what's going on.
It was a fine Saturday afternoon...Outside the Asylum, the soft murmur of noise could be heard, the rhythm of cosmopolitan New Yorker life carried in the breeze. The Asylum itself was a sturdy thing, white bricks, four stories high, of modern Gothic make --- curved lines and bright black trim. It was situated almost innocently on the edge of the city, between a subway station and a suburban district. Anyone would have to wonder how such an unassuming building could possibly house and contain such dangerous....patients.
At the moment, all but one of the patients of this quaint Asylum were inside, situated in the 'day room,' a place to relax, mingle, eat and discuss. A TV in one corner of the room was playing some family friendly programming while across the room, up and over a sea of soft carpet, bean bag chairs and books was the kitchen, an afternoon snack of sliced apples and cubed cheese prepared on the dining table. The staff always made sure patients ate healthy, though they sometimes slipped and allowed junk food on campus.
The one missing patient would have been with the others in that room but she was....incapacitated. Katie Sprigg, a lass of 19, was serving out her punishment in one of the Asylum's 'quiet rooms.' An hour earlier, when everyone was outside in the back yard for recreation, she had tried to hop the fence and escape. The team of nurses on hand had brought her down just in time, but nonetheless Katie put up such a fight with her biting and scratching and growling that a second team of doctors had to be radioed in just to drag her back inside and administer sedatives --- the auburn-haired grey chinchilla was, indeed, every bit as strong as her muscular body implied!
And now there Katie was, velcroed up in a straight jacket, tipped over in the corner of the padded quiet room, all alone as she slowly came off her sedative. A security camera watched her every potentially dangerous move. Soon enough, one of the main care doctors would come and prod her to apologize for being so reckless. She couldn't care less. This wasn't the first time she had tried to escape. She knew the routine from here. Cakewalk.
Sasha Lachance, on the other hand, was not such a dangerous patient. A brown striped, glasses-wearing lemur of 17, she was often considered to be the silly one. She was well-behaved, and therefore was currently enjoying her afternoon in the day room with the others --- gnawing on a handful of apples and cheese whilst hanging by her tail from an exercise bar that was set up in a doorway. She watched the other patients mill about with interest.

"No no, I wanted the granny smith apple." Izzy said, his long red hair dangling all about, he looked at the cafeteria women with his seductive eyes.
"Oh Izzy, you know I can't say no to you, and you know I can't take it back after a patient touched it. Just take both and keep it on the hush." The lunch lady said, waving her hand for him to skit off.
"Thanks miss" he said, flashing his white teeth as he pocketed the apple. As he tunred to walk away, a brown doll with needled for limbs climbed out of his pocket and on top of his head. The doll stood about a foot if it were on two feet, but blended quite well in his tangle mess of a hair when on four. "...no I didn't , I don't use people... no I just beat the system" he said laughing. He went over to the far corner, and sat at a small table, he put his lunch tray down. The doll jumped off his head and looked at the food. "Be careful, I remember when. You tried to fight my orange juice." He snickerd, as the doll gave a death stair with its one eye.

"Why are there always re-runs?" Daemon thinks out loud.
"What do you mean?" Asks one of the nurses. Her name is Niria, the only nurse who doesn't look at Daemon, let alone anyone in the Asylum like a piece of filth.
"There is always the program. Why dont they change it up a little?" Indicating the T.V. suspended a foot from his face.
"Well, thats against the rules, hon." Niria responds, but shows the look that she gives Daemon when she want to say more but cant.
"You know I dont like to use it. Its... unnatural. Its what makes me a freak. A freaking otter freak." Daemon stalks off into line, grabs a watermelon slice, and huddles by himself in the corner.
"Oh dear..." whispers Niria.

Villain sat one one of the chairs facing the outside gardens. She could hear distant cars and a warm breeze running over the green grass. The light shone on her, and in her eyes, but she didn't blink or move an inch. No one really came to talk to her, and she thought it was probably the best way. Lifting food from the other side of the room with her mind, she made it float up to a few centimetres to her left, allowing one thing at a time to go into her mouth. She still found it odd eating.
'Why don't you go and play with the others?' One of the nurses suddenly cooed encouragingly to her from behind, 'You haven't made any friends yet--' Villain snapped a full apple clean in half in mid air and turned to glare at the fur ruining her peace. ....no.... she mouthed, before turning and enjoying the sun shining in her eyes again.
-
Daemon sat in the corner, gazing at all the other furs. The normal furs. Why am I the only one like this? Why? He closes his eyes and welcome the darkness that comes. He tries to remember his parents, his family, for he hundredth time. All he can get is a dull shadow. He opens his eyes and makes a decision. "I will not be alone!" He shouts. The normal furs, no, the other furs stare at him like hes, well, mental. He walks outside, and gazes into the red fiery ball in the sky. The breeze lifts his tail a bit. He forgot how good it felt outside.
-
"Now just stay here with everyone else." The nurse softly let go of Cerise's shoulder and stood behind her, waiting for her to walk away. Cerise slowly went to the food stand, her right hand over her left arm. They just finished giving her the usual injections and medications, 'Such a joy...' she sarcastically thought. Once she got her food, Cerise went and quietly sat down next to the fur with long red hair. "Stop it! The doctor told me no one's out to kill me!" She whispered to herself. "But he promised...!"
-
Izzy looked at his doll who then looked at the new female, "No dont!" he yelled but it was inevitable. The doll ran over to the female and ran up her arm, it sat on her shoulder looking at her. "dang... oh well. Hi there I'm Izzy and thats.... I'm not sure.. I never gave you a name.. ummm.. I don't know... ok I'll ask. Excuse me your of the female gender and all, do you know any good doll names?"
-
Villain saw the little doll and her eyes widened, slithering behind one of the curtains she watched in fascination at the little thing, and kind of wished that she had one...
...She had a doll once, and it was her only happiness.
-
Daemon walks back in, feeling somewhat accomplished. He had made a friend. He looked back at the bird in the tree, with a new respect for its intelligence. "Birds really are fascinating creatures..." he says. He walks back inside and sidles into a chair behind the young girl whispering to herself and the man with red hair.

Entaru ate his meal quietly in the day room. He had spent most of the day crying because a spider wouldn't leave him alone, and had finally come out to eat. His skin was crawling, but it always did that. When it began to actually squirm and wiggle is when he had trouble. He had finished his cheese (it was his favorite) and had begun to work his way through his bread when he saw the same spider staring up at him from it. He moaned quietly and stared at it mournfully.
"Why won't you go away....just leave me alone." Entaru poked the bread underneath the spider, making it lose its footing for a moment. The spider only stared up at him and shivered, as if it understood but wanted to stay. Luckily for Entaru, he was in one of his more reasonable moods. "Fine...if you wont go away, can you at least get your fuzzy little butt off my toast?" The spider shivered again and hopped off the bread and onto the tray. Entaru was a bit taken back by the spiders immediate reaction. In all of his years he never actually thought of telling the bugs what to do.
He had to check though, just to be sure. "Jump onto my milk carton and tap your front right legs 5 times." Sure enough, the spider did as it was told, albeit on the wrong legs. "Your right, not mine..." The spider shivered and tapped again, this time with the right legs. Entaru chuckled in elation as he watched the spider, for the first time with a smile on his face.

"I hate apples. And cheese."
"I love apples and cheese! Thank you ma'am."
Macid took his apple slice and cheese cube to one of the tables. He wasn't sure if it was empty or not, he wasn't really paying attention. Taking a bite of his slice, Dicam chimed in again."Horrible abomination of a food. I should freeze all of them." Dicam started to slowly turn the remaining apple slice into an ice cube, but suddenly stopped as Macid took over. It was halfway frozen now. He gently put it down and popped the cheese cube in his mouth. "What delicious snacks we have."
-
Daemon looked at the couple behind him, wondering if he should talk to them. But what if they dont want to? What if they'll try to hurt me? Daemon pushed those thoughts away. IT was either that, or lose the last vestiges of his sanity.
"Hi! My names Daemon, what are yours?" he asks the red head and the girl.
-
"Who" Izzy said looking around. "Hey don't call me stupid.... well how was I supose to know… idk there are people with abilites maybe one of them were in the wall… ugg s.t.f..u" Izzy sat back down and looked at daemon "Hi I'm Izzy" he said, brushing his hair out of his eyes.
-
After finishing his cheese and disposing of his apple slice, Macid walked back to his table. Dicam sat down and looked around at all the others. "Rotten ingrates. All of them. They don't deserve the amount of treatment that I do." The table begun to get colder as Dicam thought about how much he hated them. Macid pulled his hands back, stopping the process. "You can't do that to the furniture Dicam. They'll put us in the quiet room again." Dicam scoffed at Macid's fear of that room. "I'll just freeze my way out. They can't stop me." "They can stop the others. They can stop us." Macid pulled his hands closer and begun to slowly rock himself.
-
Sasha found herself intrigued by the lonely Macid, and, feeling quite lonely herself, she uncurled her tail and got down from the bar. With a bright hop, skip and a jump she joined Macid at the table. "Hi there, Macid. It's been awhile," she said. She had picked up his name by listening to the nurses, but she really couldn't remember whether they had met before. Grinning, she pushed her glasses up on her nose and continued, "Did you hear? Did you hear? That Katie chick is going to be in the quiet room the whole rest of the day before they send a doctor in to talk to her. She's in it deep." The lemur's eyes got big; she didn't mean to gossip but boredom can drive people in strange ways.
-
"Not long enough." "She was talking to me, Dicam. Sorry, he's like that. Which one is Katie?" Macid had slowly stopped rocking back and forth. Having someone else to talk to besides Dicam usually calmed him down alot. "She's the one who wants to kill everyone." "Will you please stop for 5 minutes?" He was quiet for a bit before talking again. "I apologize for him. He never really liked people a whole lot. What were we talking about?"
-
"Hmmm I don't know, what were we talking about?" Sasha trailed off....."You know, I think that Villian girl is really pretty. I wish I was that pretty....Do you, do you have any leftovers Macid?" she showed her bare paws to prove she had finished off her lunch and was still hungry, frowning.
-
"Dicam froze half my apple slice so nope." He smiled gently. Most times he was either frowning because he was arguing with Dicam, or just blank faced, so smiling was a rarity for him. He turned to look at Villain at the other table. She was kinda pretty. "All the pretty girls are *****'s. Every one of them."
-
"I know what you mean, just look at that Katie person," she said then stopped. "Wait, who is Dicam?"
-
"Oh excuse me. Dicam is my friend. He stayed with me when no-one else would." "He wouldn't have lasted a week without me." "That doesn't mean you can do as you please. I don't wanna get in trouble again." "You're like the rest of them, always talking and moving. I hate them all." Dicam stared off into space after that. His face frozen with a light expression of disgust.
-
'Nice to meet you Izzy.' Daemon said. He opened his mouth to speak, but he suddenly, unwillingly heard something. Two voices -two different personalities- resonating from one mind. He searched the room, and he found the source. A man sitting in the corner, looking as if he saw some unnameable gruesome object. Daemon searched his brain for a name. He could've sworn it was... Macid. He only recognized him because of the big deal his appearance had made - all the water had been turned off. Next to him was a lemur-fur. He didn't know much about her, though. 'Do you know who she is?' Daemon asked Izzy and the young girl, indicating the woman next to Macid.
-
"I have been called gregorius, but never, nor will I ever be one for gossip" Izzy said, shaking his head back and forth, "but at last its all a matter of perception, what one might dictate as gossip, another may take as simply informing. So in the end it is the nature of one business. So what's it to you? Why do you want to know?" Izzy said smiling, nudging at daemon. "I can figure anything out, let's just say, I have ears every were" he laughed ".... don't give me that, you guys know you like it… what ever"
-
Daemon had been zoned out. 'Like what?' he asked. He had been trying to remember his family again.
-
"As stated; anything"
-
Villain looked at the doll for a little longer and then shuffled over to get some food. She heard one of them calling her a mean name...And she got angry. They used to call her that, they used to do other things too.... Her face grew thunderous and after listening to them further she lost her temper, and stormed over. Objects from all over the room becan to randomly fling about in rage, making other patients as well as the doctors panic. ...How...Dare...You...! She carved into her arm with a taloned hand, as glasses and other things flung into walls and broke.
-
Izzy stood up, seeing the objects fly. He sat his arm on the table, allowing the doll to climb up it. The doll stood on four legs in his tangle mess, as he approached the angry female. A milk carton almost hit him, but the doll knocked it away from him. He took the womens hand, and looked her in the eyes. "Hey hey, calm down. Don't let such primitive vulgar words get the best of you. Just keep your head held high, and you'll be just fine." Izzy demonstrated what he said, holding his head high. When he put his head up, the doll lost its footing and fell on top of the girl's shoulder. It quickly ran to the top of her head. "What have I told you, you can't just be walking around on peoples head"
-
Daemon laughs. Such a strange character in here. 'Hi. Whats your name? And why're you so angry? And...' truthfully, it was the last thing on his mind. 'wait, Izzy, you have powers too? And you-' Daemon says '-you have telekinesis? So I'm not alone!'
-
Dicam remained stout inspite of the ensuing chaos around him. He was focused on a certain spot on the wall. There was no special marking on it, nor had he been at it before, but it reminded him of his basement. Of the years of loneliness. Finally, Macid snapped out of his reverie and became worried at all the comotion. "Why is this happening?" His voice had a touch of fear in it. He was afraid they might blame it on him and put him in the quiet room again. "Again with the room, quit being a wimp about it." "You weren't there for the first years Dicam. You don't know what it was like."
-
'Dont talk to them, they're onto you...' The voices continued in her head as Cerise put her head down, and her hands over it. "No, no, stop it, they won't hurt me!" she yelled. It made her feel paranoid, it felt like needles were all over her skin. All she wanted to do was get away from everyone, and go back to her room; the only place where Cerise felt safe since arriving at the asylum.
-
Daemon noticed the young girl start to break down. 'Hey, Cerise, it's okay! No ones going to hurt you. You havent done anything wrong.' Daemon had read her mind, he was curious as to why she was acting like this. He put what he hoped was a comforting hand on her shoulder. 'You dont have to worry, no one will hurt you.'
-
Cerise jumped to Daemon touching her shoulder, as she slowly raised her head and looked up at him. "I'm sorry..." she quietly said. "They won't leave me alone..."
-
Villain gritted her teeth silently and looked into Izzy's eyes. Slowly she began to calm down and the flying objects eventually started to slow down and drop from the air. She looked down onto her arm which was dripping with blood. The magpie squinted like she was trying to suss out the one taking her bloodied hand and after feeling satisfied, she stopped being tense, that was, until one of the nurses grabbed her firmly and claimed 'Look at all this mess!!! Its the quiet room for you.' And with that, Villain was frogmarched from the room, casting a back glance at Izzy. She smiled, only a little.
-
"Ooooohhhh....." Sasha cried softly and her hand flew to her mouth. "Was it me? I didn't mean to get her in trouble was I the one who said that I just don't know I really don't know ohhh I feel so bad I've got to do something ohhh," a slur of words could be heard as Sasha's tail switched back and forth nervously. Seeing people in trouble tended to make Sasha's reactions hyperactive...."You guys she's in trouble you guys oh my goodness oh I'm so sorry I feel so bad oh no oh no oh no what did I do oh maybe I should apologize oh but they're leaving ohhhh...."
-
Macid looked on as Villain was taken out of the room. "I'm glad that's over." He started to relax a bit before Sasha began to talk without pausing, sounding panicked. A smile crept over Dicam's face as he put the frozen apple slice in his mouth and chewed on the chunks. "You need to chill out. hehehehehehehehehahahaha. That's a good one Dicam." Macid looked at Sasha. He's got a point. You shouldn't work yourself up so much.
-
"You're right I am doing it too much too much I should stop stop stop stopp-" Sasha clamped her mouth shut with her paw and took a deep breath through her nose. That always made her stop.
-
'She has like, a hairline trigger' says Daemon. He quickly quiets, though. He tries not to make fun of people or make observations. 'Yo okay now, then, I take it?' He asks Cerise. He could still hear that Villain girls' thoughts. She seemed to think loudly, but speak none at all. 'I like that girl.' he says. 'She seems pretty nice.'
-
Villian is led out of the room. She is taken to one of the empty quiet rooms on the first floor. The nurse is gripping Villian's shoulder tightly as she opens the door.....she then gives Villian a sideways look and asks: "Why do you think you got angry so easily back there? Did someone say something?.....Sometimes I feel the same anger when I...hear things."
***
Sasha calmed down before standing up....."M-maybe I should go back to hanging on the bar."
-
Izzy quietly tip toed down, following the nurse into the holding cell. He never had a reason to be put into the 'quite room' so he hasn't ever been in one. Not like one cold hold him, even if his whole body was restrained they couldn't keep such an artiest, as he loved to call him self, down. "Excuse me ma'am," Izzy said, looking sad. "I can't let you put her in there, see umm the doctor got out medicine mixed up, so she received mine, and well I obviously got hers. Mine has a couple side effects, extreme mood changes is one of them. And claustrophobia is a big one, if you put her in there... I'm not sure I want to find out what will happen." Izzy was a profound liar, his story was both logically and emotionally sound.
-
"Umm yes I am..." her mind cleared up a little. All the thoughts and whispers in her head always became worse once she took her medication, but now it seem to take in effect. "I'm sorry, sometimes the people in my mind don't know when to stop. They say very horrible things.." she quietly said.
-
Villain replied to the restrainer with silence only looking at her with some sort of disgust. 'Oh, that's right; you don't like talking... I suppose these quiet rooms will be a great place for you then...' The one from before had followed them though, and she couldn't help but wonder when he was talking how the nursing staff hadn't noticed him follow. It almost seemed intentional. Clearly though; he wanted to help her out, so she complied.
Sweeping the nurse with a harsh kick, she fell to the floor with a loud crunch. stepping over the now passed out nurse, she could only assume she had banned her head and knocked herself out. She stood there and looked at Izzy, the blood still wet on her arm. She used some of it to spell a message on the wall; ...what now?....
-
Entaru had zoned out with the incident with Villian. His head had begun to hurt after his little experiment and he almost passed out with his eyes open for a moment. He shivered slightly and looked out the door that Villian had been taken out of. whathappened?whatdidImiss?didsomeonegooff?wasitsomethingIdidorsaidoralludedtoorororororor Entaru slapped himself and sobbed a bit, knowing his brain just looped itself again.

Nero walked into the quiet room with Katie inside it and smiled a bit. His favorite patient, at it again. He pulled up a chair, just out of her reach, and sat down slowly. "Miss Katie, what have I told you about your little escapades? I'm beginning to suspect you enjoy the quiet room."
-
Izzy basically face palmed him self, "Why would you do that" he said shaking his head. 'Think think got to think' he thought to him self. He looked at the nurse, and the the stairs and then at the quite room. "Alright then that's what we will do, hey listen this will be our story. We left, she started to go back up stairs, she fell backwards, slammed into the quite room she got knocked out. We weren't sure what to do we panicked, and left. Simple no?" Izzy took Villain good arm and took her up stairs, then to a bathroom. There he took her other arm, "you know you shouldn't do this." he said, pointing at her arm. "It isn't good for you. Open your mouth" Izzy put a wash cloth in her moth, and the doll jumped form her head down to her shoulder. There it walked across her arm and down to the wound, Izzy nodded. The doll used its needle like arms, and a piece of thread and sowed her wounds together. "It will heal faster, and be less suspicious as to why the nurse let you go bleeding."
-
Villain nodded slowly and followed Izzy in a rather casual and slow way. She followed him to the bathroom and after Izzy had washed her arm, bit down hard on the cloth, whilst the pain throbbed up her arm. After the doll was done. She picked it up with her mind and held it just out of attacking distance. With her newly sewn up arm, she stroked the doll surprisingly gently whilst motioning to her mouth and shaking her head I can't speak, and mouthing at Izzy ....Its....easier....that....way....and....I....Enjoy.....it....
When they hurt her, they didn't do it anywheree where everyone from the outside world could see; they pretended to be normal people, a normal family on the outside...
'....Oh, i'm sorry about our daughter--she's awfully shy!!!'
The memory made her drop the doll with her mind, and she clenched her hand so hard, that some of the stitching came loose again.
-
Dicam turned to Sasha. "Maybe you should just hang yourself." "You shouldn't say things like that to people Dicam. You'll hurt their feelings." "They dont deserve our kindess. They're all the same." "The others have gifts like you and me. They are not the same." "Do their gifts make them better people?" "It makes them like us. They're someone we can relate to." "They weren't locked in their parent's basement for 16 years Macid. 16 Years." Macid looked down to see that his hands had balled into fists and had frozen themselves to the table. He tried to pull them out, but was unable to. "Uh oh."
-
"Oh shiz" Izzy lunged, catching his doll, he looked back at Villian, and saw what she did. He sighed, "come with me" he said, walking out of the bathroom, he went over to a secure door that read 'paper room'. It was locked, he smiled laughing to him self. He sat his doll on the door handle, and it unlocked the door. He went in, shut the door, and came out a few seconds later. He was holding some white paper and a black sharpie. "If I give you this, you have to promise to stop hurting your self ok?"
-
Sasha paused, halfway across the room by now on her way to the exercise bar yet she still heard what was said."I should....hang myself?" she turned back. "I could, but I would but I should why but I would ohhhh....nevermind why." Quickly she noticed Macid was stuck. "Do you want me to call a nurse? Or maybe I can try to pull them off. We might need warm water...." she came to his side and started pulling at the frozen paws.
***
Katie scoffed lowly, stretching out her legs in front of her as she sunk down even lower, if that was possible. She raised an eyebrow at Nero before returning her attention to wiggling her toes....all she wanted was out. She needed out, needed away from the horrible drugs that stopped her from drawing! You should never stop an artist from drawing! Her fur bristled as she sunk into imagination as was usual and she fantasized about escaping, about being free of the drugs so she could draw once again, and she fantasized about all the things she would draw and the worlds of illusion she could return to.
-
Macid thought. Hot water would do little to melt the ice. If they broke it off, the nurses would notice. If he told them, they might put him in one of the quiet rooms for using his power. The first time he was put in the quiet room was because he froze the door to his private room. He was sure that he would go there again if he used his power, but saw little other choice. "Call a nurse please. I'm stuck." "You would get us stuck you idiot." "You started it."
-
-Thanks- She wrote on the paper and showed it to him, -what now?-
-
Daemon had been watching what was going on. 'You dont have to call the nurse.' He said. He took out his spoon, a silver one, with an ornately carved handle in the shape of a Tsunami. He hit the outward curved side of the spoon against the ice freezing Macid's hand to the table. 'This stuff is pretty hard, isn't it?' He repeatedly hit it. Eventually, a small trickle of a crack formed. HE kept hitting that one crack. About ten minutes, it broke. 'There ya go. No need to call the nurses.' He couldn't believe what he had done. There were major consequences to do what he just did, yet, he wasn't too worried. He wouldn't get caught. He was sure. 'Hello, Mr. Daemon...' a smooth, drawling voice cooed from behind him. Daemon couldn't believe it. He was caught.
-
"I'm not sure?" He itched his head "how much longer do we have of free time?"
-
Nero cocked his head slightly as Katie sunk lower. Putting his hand to his chin he pondered for a moment. "Miss Katie...if I asked you to draw something for me, would you do it? Without fighting or any mischeif?" Any of the other doctors would have rather had Katie poke out their eyes than let her draw something, and for good reason. They could survive having their eyes gouged out. "I have a pen and a small pack of Post-Its in my coat pocket...I can lend you them if you like."
-
One of the nurses came up to Cerise, "Now you've already made enough ruckus, time to go back to your room." She helped Cerise up and walked beside her, as the nurse held onto her shoulder. Cerise didn't say anything to the nurse, but only nodded.
-
Daemon turned to see Dr. Nuevos, the spanish armadillo. 'You do realise, that in case of a emergency, that you must alert the nurses?' Daemon turned to look at Macid and Sasha. 'Um, no?' Daemon said. 'Tsk tsk, Mr. Daemon. I know you've been here long enough to know Asylum protocol. You do know what this means, dont you?' Daemon knew he could run, but that would mean leaving Macid and Sasha. He couln't leave his newfound friends. He sighed. 'Yes, Doctor Nuevos...' he started. He lookad at Macid, and telepathically said 'Freeze him?'
-
-About 20 minutes. I need to go back to my room at the very least- She wrote, -I want my teddy Eric.- It was almost funny how serious she looked.
-
Izzy looked at his doll, and then nodded, "To the teddy then!" Izzy yelled, smiling happily as he took Villains arm and skipped his way down the hall. As they were approaching Villains room, Izzy saw that girl from earlyer being taken away. Izzy's doll ran off with haste before he could say anything. The doll jumped onto the girls tail, and ran up all the way to the top of her neck, standing on her left shoulder. Izzy just shrugged and began to skip happily along again.
-
Macid was startled at hearing a 3rd voice in his head. Was there someone else in there? "That's Daemon you moron, he's telepathic. Why should I help you?" Dicam turned to the Doctor. "I was about to call for a nurse Doctor, but he came before I could." "He was just trying to help. Don't punish him please." Macid felt terrible that he was going to get sent to the quiet room for helping him.
-
Katie was jolted out of her fantasy at the word 'draw.' She nodded without even thinking about it, ready to take any chance offered to be artistic. She knew that whatever she drew would not come to life, because of the debilitating drugs, or if it did come to life it would be a sickly, broken illusion. But that didn't matter to her. Whether or not the drawing sprung to life, she had been without paper and utensil for too long to refuse.
-
Rigor sat in the community room, blankly looking at the TV. She wasn't really watching it, she was looking through it, thinking. She was surprised that she had been let out with the others, for she never really played nice with them. She assumed most had learned their lesson, and that was why she was able to sit alone. She was perched in her chair, sitting in a position that looked as if it wouldn't be comfortable for anyone else, yet it was comfortable for her. She was sitting on her feet, and her tail seemed to be clinging to the chair for dear life as if she were going to topple over at any moment. Of course, she wasn't going to, but her tail clinged to things when it wasn't curling up in its default position. Her arms were crossed over her chest, and she was reaching behind herself, rubbing her hands on her tattered wings, seemingly deep in thought. Lines of hospital bracelets were on her arms. The nurses had only let her keep them because she would get unruly without them. She kept them so that she could remember where she had been and what things had happened to her. Although, she never really thought about it when she kept them, it was as if they were a timeline of her past on her arms. There were also a few on her arm that had a name other than hers. She tended to steal bracelets from people she had assaulted, or in some cases, killed if they had bugged her too much.
-
Suddenly, a doll jumped on Cerise's shoulder. She was a bit startled, but the nurse didn't seem to notice. "Now go inside, you can't be acting up like that unless you want to stay in here all day." Cerise nodded and went to lay on her bed as the nurse left, closing the door behind her. The doll immediately jumped and landed on her bed. "Where did you come from...?" She softly asked.

Crocodile leaned against a corner in the community room, watching the TV with no interest whatsoever. He wasn't sure why he'd been put here... He... He tilted his head. He only though differently. He thought so, at least. He gripped his bushy tail and hoped no one saw his eyes glittering. He was a lot younger than anyone else there - only thirteen, and was hardly noticed. Sometimes it looked like the walls of the asylum were growing eyes, which would watch him murderously. The TV dials slowly turned to bloodshot irises, the walls growing catlike eyes that watched him as if he'd killed someone important. He crunched himself up in hopes it'd go away, but it only felt like the walls were closer to him, watching him from only and inch away. He almost screamed, then looked up...
The TV was still on, the dials just that; dials.
The walls were normal.
He looked around, his ears pricked to the slighest sound that was out-of-place. He shuddered, slowly standing up. He hobbled over to a chair and sat down next to girl, but he couldn't place her name. He perched on the chair similar to her, only with his feet splayed out more so that he could place his hands on the edge of the chair inbetween his legs, like a gargoyle on the roof of his old apartment. The gargoyle... He tried to not think of it, how it had watched him as he had been put into the ambulance that night... The gargoyle... The gargoyle...

'It's okay, Macid. I'll take the consequences.' Daemon allowed himself to be led away. What else was there to do? The only way to escape, anyway, if Macid had frozen Dr. Nuevos was to fly, and none of them could do that, so far as he knew. Daemon zoned out, an telepathically said to Macid. 'Thanks for trying to help me, but Ill be fine.' Daemon continued on. He turned to see they were passing other quiet rooms, and one had what looked like a girl in it. In the distance, he saw the Cerise girl and a nurse being led away. There was a small figure on her shoulder. So that's where Izzy went... this could be his chance, if Izzy decided to save Villain. But it wouldn't work otherwise. He looked at Dr. Nuevos, who, he was startled to see, was looking back at him. 'I know what you little freaks are.' he said, that smooth, drawling voice creating that singular hiss that only a boa can make. 'If it was up to me, you would all be dissected, but its not. Maybe when I'm the boss around here.' Daemon mentally laughed. They called him crazy. This man was a crazy rating 8 out of 5. Daemon laughed out loud. He had made a joke. 'Whats so funny, you little freak? You freaks stupid enough to think that death is a game? Well, I'll make sure it isn't, and that you all feel maximum pain when I kill you.' He opened his mouth in a smiling snarl, showing off his fangs. They weren't poisonous, but if you got bit, they hurt like hell. 'Should I kill that freak over there first?' He asked indicating Cerise. Daemon hadn't noticed Dr. Nuevos' hand go into his pocket and pull out a syringe. 'All I have to do is say that you stabbed her with this experimental Black Widow venom, ad that you killed her.' There was that smile again. This guy wasn't crazy, Daemon thought, hes pure insane!

Rigor's trance-like state seemed to be broken by the sound of a chair being pulled up beside her. Immediately, her eyes shot to the figure beside her as he imitated how she was sitting with a little variance. She was still rubbing her wings, but as he sat beside her, she retracted her hands to rest in her lap. She looked at him disapprovingly, then looked back up to the television. How dare he sit beside her without asking? I guess even people here have the need to be social-able.. she answered own question, still unsatisfied with the boy's actions. She didn't care about if he wanted to be social-able. All she wanted to do was sit around and think until she got escorted back to her room. Unlike most of the patients, she hated the free time, but she complied only so that the doctors would fall into her honeypot of false charm and obedience. Without much thought on it, she grabbed the jack o lantern mask that was on the left side of her head and pulled it to the side the fellow was sitting on, as if to use it as a blinder so she would not have to look at him. Today was not a day she felt like getting worked up.
-
Macid watched as Daemon was carried away. Neither he nor Dicam liked Dr. Nuevos very much, but since he was a doctor, they listened to him. "Time to go back to your room Macid." A nurse came and escorted him out of the room. "They're all filthy swine." The nurse said nothing, as the staff was told to ignore anything mean said by Dicam so as to not encourage his behavior. When they reached his room, Macid went inside as the nurse turned a dial on the wall next to the door. It controlled the temperature in his room so if he tried to freeze anything, it would raise the temperature to compensate. Since his first time he used his power here, they had to replace his furniture with plastic so it could be replaced easily again if necessary. As he went to his bed, the nurse double checked the thermometer, 68 degrees, comfortable. "The doctor will be in for your session shortly Macid." "Thank you ma'am."
-
"If you don't want me near you, just tell me and I'd move." Crocodile said calmly, the flashback ebbing away. He knew who Rigor was, and it probably wasn't the smartest thing to say to her, but he didn't feel like fearing anyone today, especially one who was so high-strung she assaulted anyone she didn't like. He shifted on his perch, slightly nervous she might lash out at him. The jack-o-lantern mask seemed to watch him, but he mentally shut it out and looked back toward the TV.
-
Villain wrote on the paper -I could just hear Daemon in my head right now...he's with that mad doctor.- She quickly darted in her room grabbed the stuffed dog and darted back out into the hallway. -What should we do? I don't like that doctor. He says creepy things to me. I want to peck out his eyes.-
-
Nero handed Katie the pad and pen with a smirk. "Here you go....now, show me your talent." Sitting down on the floor in front of her, he watched patiently for her to draw.
***
Entaru sat down in front of Sasha with a bit of a grin. "Hi Sasha....you okay?"
-
Katie could help but to laugh....he expected her to draw for him? As drugged down as her ability was? As tied up as she was, he- he did not even free her arms from the straight jacket. She was about to continue laughing when she stopped, realizing that this....could indeed be a challenge. She was not one to back down from a challenge. Not to mention she knew how to draw with her toes, a skill well-rehearsed. Katie sat up all the way and took the pen between her nimble toes. She began to draw, at first only scribbling, then turned that scribbling into full forms.
The halloween cats. How she had missed the halloween cats. Black, shakily drawn things but they were still drawn well enough. Katie was about to get frustrated, thinking her cats would never come back to her, when one of them did.
It sprang not from the pad but from the black cracks in the soft padding around her.
God, it was horrible! It.....it had no form! it was almost two-dimensional, just a bunch of scribbly black lines coming together to form a lopsided cat. Its cries were not meows but, strange, erratic mewls that grinded on the senses.
Katie knew that the reason it was not a real cat was because of the drugs she had been given, she knew it was only a broken illusion. Yet, Katie adored this broken drawing. If only she could escape this place. Stop taking the drugs. Then the real cats could come back to her. "Oh, ze kitty is so sweet," she said, bending over. The cat-drawing illusion came and rubbed against her cheek. "I still love the sweet halloween cats." Katie's voice was jarring and sudden, heavy....she had never spoken aloud in front of Nero before.
***
Sasha nodded. "I ....I don't know what's going on here anymore." Her tail switched back and forth. "Before I know it I'm going to be in trouble and you too and oh we should go back to our rooms soon-"
-
"Don't test me." Rigor said from behind her mask lowly. "I don't care if you sit near me, so long as you don't annoy me." She hadn't really decided whether or not she wanted to waste her time with him, but she didn't want to make an effort, she knew that much. She felt as if she was having a sad day. More depressing and frustrating than anything since flashbacks of an older man ran through her mind. She didn't like that she couldn't recall a name or why he was important. She just knew that he was important. She felt like it might be good to bother with the fox beside her if it could take her mind off things, but she felt as if so far she didn't like him. She closed her eyes and looked down, tapping her head, getting angry with herself because she just failed to remember things like the man's name. She began to scan over her bracelets, almost looking through them in the same manner that she looked through the TV before.
-
"Humm… well we can't kill him... well we won't kill him" Izzy wasn't sure, he didn't even know why all of a sudden he was everyones Savior, but he didn't mind it to much. "Well I have an idea, but I'm not sure, I can easily break him out of were ever he is" Izzy loves to gloat "but the problem is, what am I suppose to do after that?"
The doll ran around the girl with such excitement, it ran over to a piece of paper, and its leg started to move at extreme speeds poking holes into the paper. It jumped of and showed a picture of the doll waving, and had text that read -hi-.
-
Nero smiled as she spoke. "So that's what you sound like." His voice was soft and comforting but had a hint of mischeif, hidden deep inside his voice. "I imagine, with time, I should hear it more. After all, I'll be providing you with more to draw with and I may eventually end your medication. So long as you follow the rules, you can draw till your hearts content." Nero took the pen and pad of paper, leaving the page with the 'cat' with Katie. He briefly pet the cat creature and left the quiet room without another word. Katie could hear the door lock behind him as he left.
***
"Things are that bad huh? Alright, I'll walk you to your room if you want." Entaru stood up and extended his hand in assistance. While his moments of paranoia were incredibly severe, his moments of clarity made him seem just like any other person.
-
Dr. Nuevos had decided not to kill anyone. 'How will I get to the top of the food chain?' he had said. Daemon sighed. The quiet rooms werent all that bad. It gave him all the emptiness he coukld ever want. At one point in his time here, he would have loved it. Now, though. He had friends. And he was bored. All in all, it still wasnt bad. He wondered if Cerise was okay. And if Macid and Sasha were in trouble. He reprimanded himself for that rash action that he was going to go through with. He was glad that Macid decided not to.He stared at the wall. Sometimes, he wishes he could control poples minds. Oh no, not Macids, but definantly Dr. Nuevos. He went deep into thought. He wasnt all that crazy once you wnet down to it. Then again, he was still crazy.
-
"Hello. " Cerise smiled at the doll. She liked the doll, it didn't make her feel threatened. "Who do you belong to?" Cerise asked.
-
Crocodile shot a glare at Rigor and slipped off his chair and shuffled away to his room. Slumping down onto the bed, he decided to 'read' the bed. Placing his hand on the blanket, he saw the first patient... A dog, then a cat, then a weasel, then a hawk... Then... Darkness. Feelings of being trapped. Utter despair. The boy shuddered as he gripped the blanket and felt the fear hit him. He ripped his hand away, and suddenly the emotions were gone. He shook his head and slumped to the floor, leaning against the bed. Sometimes he hated his gift of 'reading': Being able to grip an object and see it's past, who'd owned it and such. He'd read practically everything there was to read here, even the syringes by the operating tables (He'd snuck in when Dr. Neuvos wasn't looking) and the surgical things he wasn't supposed to know anything about. He chuckled, remembering when Dr. Neuvos had caught him and almost literally kicked him out the door. Croc had laughed the whole way back to his room. Strangely enough, he'd never been punished for that. Probably the good doctor's sometimes soft, something stone-cold heart. He shrugged, the stood up, and slipped back into the community room, hoping to make a friend. He knew it'd be dangerous, he knew he might just get himself killed. He was partially doing it for the fun of the danger, but mostly to just make a friend out of someone who'd never really had one. He hopped back onto his chair next to Rigor, thinking of what to say that wouldn't get him assaulted. 'Now, let's see...' He thought.
-
She could hear the fox shifting and slipping away, then returning. Rigor didn't pay any attention to him past noticing that he had moved, then come back. Her tail tightened around the seat, and she fidgeted with her hospital bracelets rather harmlessly as she returned her focus to the television. She never got why they showed what seemed to be kiddy shows. "Can I help you?" She asked as the fox took his place.
-
Villain shrugged -lets got back to the rec room. It could get risky... but, before i do, let me ask you this; do you...think its become a bit of a stange feeling here lately?- It was an unusually analytical question fromn such a disturbed person.
-
Crocodile shrugged. "I guess," he said. "I don't have anyone I can call a friend here, and I figured I'd need to make a start. You probably weren't the best choice, but you're the only person I've ever spoken to here besides the staff, and they act like I'm three." He said, scratching behind his ear with foot, much like a young fox would. "Not that it really matters to me that you don't feel like being social, or don't want friends in general - 'tis fine by me." He said, stealing a glance at Rigor. "It's your choice whether or not you want to get over whatever kind of past you had, if that's the reason for you being this way. If you don't," He shrugged, "it's your choice. Not everyone wants to." He said, staring into the TV. "Some of us... Can't. Like if we do... We forget a part of ourselves, y'know?" He asked, not really expecting her to reply with anything sympathetic or even attempt to be social with him. He actually expected to get hit, a fist to the face like the kind his dad had constantly given him when he was little would actually be comforting.
-
"Friends and bonds of similar nature are formed unconsciously, not from asking." It seemed like a cold thing to say, but she honestly felt that way about friendships. She had never really had friends because she never allowed herself to get close to anyone and could drop them on a whim. It was one of the reasons they said she was a sociopath was because she didn't care if her doing that did any damage to the person in question. "And as for my past, I don't know of it. So I don't know if it's why I am the way I am. I'm just that way. I can't choose to accept a past I can't remember." She seemed to be getting irritated with him talking, and tried to cut down anything he could propose as quickly as she could.
-
Akrill could be heard from his cell counting in monotone as he hung from a bar on the cieling. He was doing pull ups with his legs, exercising his back, abs, and thighs all at the same time. He had retracted his lightning rod since it tended to get in the way of his work-out, leaving only a two inch diameter hole where the device would normally stick out from. After about fifty warm-up pulls, he didn't even wince or even shake from the burning as he did twenty-five more pull-ups before sliding loose and grabbing the pole with his hands to do the same with his arms and shoulders. I wonder when my next meal is coming, or if Doctor Nero ever calls me out... I can't even recall how long ago I was sent back. Well, I'll just get stronger during that time.
He continued to count, his voice rarely straining or changing pitch...
-
"How would you know about making friends? You've never had any to begin with!" Crocodile snarled, then hopped off the chair and brushed past her, not to try and spark anything, but to read her hospital bracelets. He had clipped one with his hand as he walked past her, and for a split second saw something that made him realize just why she never bothered with friends. He stopped at the door to the community room. He looked back. "That many hospitals... You never had a chance to make friends, did you?" He asked genuinely innocently. It probably wasn't the reason for her anti-socialness, but it was a good guess that he sadly knew was probably wrong.
-
The doll looked around, finding a red ball with tentacles. It stabbed the ball, putting it on its head, mocking Izzy with his over Zealous personality.
Izzy actually thought about the question before answering, "yea I mean I can feel this odd feeling in my skin. I just thought it was the medicine doing that to me, but I sent one of my dolls out to scout the area.… well it never made it back, I just figured someone steeped on it" he shrugged.
-
Katie felt her expression fall...he locked the door. It was not as though she expected any less. This was a hospital, after all. But a girl could hope.
So. She was in as much trouble as she thought, or he would have let her go back to her room. Leaving like this, he was obviously planning on letting her stay in there longer. Sighing, she watched as the cat-thing circled her. Rubbing against her and mewling in that horrid tone. Katie felt her frown curl into a snarl..."He's a liar, kitty. You and me, we tell the truth. We're gonna get out of here. And we're gonna finish what we started. I don't draw for anyone but the father of the night. Especially not some haughty doctor....and...." she looked down at the drawing, a strange sort of sadness deep in her eyes...."....the night father is unhappy with me. He knows I failed him. I- I can't wait much longer to leave this place. His punishment. His punishment is divine."
Katie sunk back down, her rant turning into undescribeble, fearful mumurs. She didn't notice the cat come and curl up on her chest.
****
Sasha blushed, her tail twisting all up. "Yeah yeah I think we should we should go right away can't get in trouble like that Katie person or that Villian person but Macid, where did he go again I don't know yeah let's go..." she brushed past Entaru, her arms locked in a tight hug around herself. She really hated to break down like this in front of someone yet couldn't stop herself. The lemur made a bee-line for the door, looking over her shoulder once. "Hurry Entaru I think it's going to be bad really really bad like those teachers-" and so she went on. She did not wait for him, just plowed right through the doorway. Maybe she would calm down once she reached her room.
-
Rigor had jerked back snarling as he clipped her bracelet. She crossed her arms defensively, keeping her eyes glued on him as he made it to the door. If looks could kill, this fox would surely be in a coffin, but before he could think twice, she rushed at him and grabbed him by the throat. She had already been on edge with him constantly jabbering next to her, and touching her bracelets just set her off. "I suggest you keep your hands off of me and mind your damned business," she growled. One glance over her shoulder revealed that several patients were staring and nurses were rushing in her direction. She let go as the nurses got to her and took a few steps back with a smirk on her face.
-
Crocodile rubbed his throat. "I do it to people all the time." He hissed, inferring to clipping people's belongings. "I read the pasts of objects and or their owners. It's my power." He growled. "Before I finally was going to leave you alone and gave you what you wanted, I figured I'd try to find out exactly what made you the antisocial piece of crap you are today." He snarled. It was brave words coming from a thirteen-year-old to someone who could easily kill him, but Crocodile was too angry to care. "Not that it'd have any effect, but I doubt your old self is truly gone. Whenever you feel like coming out of that dark little hole you call your conscience, you let me know." He said blankly before turning and heading down the hallway for his room.
-
Villain sighed -Lets make a pact...we have to warn the others-- everythings creepy here, and it makes me want to snap things... I see blood dripping from the wall and i don't like it.- She started writing something else, but a young fox was walking in a rather quick and angry way, knocking into her by accident.
It made her drop her paper and pen. Looking up at the fox, she didn't do anything. She just suddenly felt really sad and sat on the floor; her taloned hands stabbing into her knees from the grip. Am I that invisible? She suddenly decided to grab her face, the claws from her talons puncturing her scalp (only a little) and blood started dripping from the sides of her head. The pen began to float in the air and snapped into halves then quarters, then eights. Her reaction seemed so bizzare for such a little incident.
-
Izzy couldn't stand rude people, especially to women he was raised a gentleman. He grabbed the fox by the back of his head, and threw him into the wall, before the fox could do anything Izzy was holding his arm up to him. A small worm like doll came out of his sleeve, it slithered as it came out, its head a sharp razor edge blade. It pressed against the fox's throat, cutting him a little. As some blood started to drip out Izzy spoke, "Now look here" his voice hard and cold "You will apologize to my friend her, before I slit your throat and kill the wasted trash you call your self." his eyes staring into the boys, they were cold, dark, and filled with murders intent.
-
"For one, I never got a chance to apoligize, because before the freak of nature you call yourself pinned me to a wall before I got the chance." He hissed. He tried to move his head to look at the sparrow-humanoid. "My apoligies, Villain, is it? I do beg your pardon, I was on my way back to my room." He said politely then pressed his foot into Izzy's stomach and pushed him back as he stepped away from the wall, rubbing the back of his bruised head. "Keep in mind, kind sir, that you might wish to watch the scene play out before you attack someone." He snarled, then continued on his way, dragging his hand along the wall as he went to read the history of the hallway.
-
As the fox was leaving, Izzy face became enraged, his whole body tensed up, and his arms dropped to his side. The worm like doll wrapped around his arm, and the blade started to vibrate. He began to charge at the fox, full of anger. The blade rubbed against the wall, cutting through it like butter from its high frequency vibrations. Izzy to a swung at the boy, a nurse tackled the boy saving him just in time. The blade cut straight through one of the water pipes, spraying water every were. Izzy quickly tuned around to strike again, but a nurse stabbed him with a needle sedating him. The vibration slowed down as Izzy lost conciseness, "W- watch your.. your self!" Izzy barley was able to mouth out before he fell over. The nurse looked over at Villain, "come help me take the boy to his room please."
-
Daemon was tired of sitting around. The white walls of the quiet room held nothing interesting. The floor was a polished marble. He walked over to the door. 'Did he lock it?' he jiggled the handle. He couldn't believe it. It wasn't locked. He pushed the handle with more force than was necessary and was surprised to hear a loud thump then crash. Oh no, he thought, I hurt someone. He peered from behind the door. He had hit a nurse. He noticed Villain sitting on the ground, Izzy passing out, and a young fox standing there. 'Am I interupting something?' He looked down at the nurse. Her head was bleeding. He looked at the corner of the door. There was a large, black-red ooze on it. 'Oh my god.' was all he managed to say before he retched up his lunch. 'I hate blood.'
-
Villain couldn't help but be angry at the nurse for getting Izzy, but was relieved he hadn't attacked the fox. She heard a retch behind her, and completely ignoring the nurse for the time being, she ripped off some off her clothing and handed it to Daemon, You can read my thoughts, so... here, sorry, this is for your muzzle. My sad heads gone. Hope you don't have a sad head now. She turned on her heel sharply and went to pick Izzy up with the nurse. The nurse was being quite rough with him, Villain thought this may because she was struggling with his weight. She gave the nurse a shove out of the way and picked Izzy up gently.
'Heeey...wait a minute, aren't you supposed to be in the quiet room? where's the nurse??' Villain looked away, she was in deep trouble now. The nurse got out a device from under her pinny and pressed it. A high pitched beep resonated off the walls, and footsteps sounded in the hallways. 'You've had it now--you creepy little mute.' The nurse sneered, kicking Villain in the kneecap and making her drop Izzy and fall to the floor herself.
Wh-whats going on? That nurse is usually so nice...?! I-is this... are they like them??? Villain lay on the ground, the shrill noise being the background tune to her ind images of her being kicked in.
-
"No... Villain... damn..." Izzy was still numb from the shot, "hey... you... you.. got to get us out of her... Hurry... please.." Izzy could barley talk.
-
"Ohh so you're that guy's owner..." the doll jumped on Cerise's hands. She held onto the doll as she laid down on her bed, her stomach began to growl. Cerise wasn't able to finish eating the rest of her meal. "Should we bring you back to him?" she asked the doll.
-
'Alright, I gotcha.' Daemon grabbed Izzy on his shoulder with one hand and Villian's with another. He pulled them into the quiet room. 'Hope you dont mind if we hide in here.' Daemon said. He could still taste the vomit in his mouth. Sour. He heard the sound of rapid footsteps just behind a door leading to where they were.
-
Entaru trotted quickly after Sasha, hoping to stay out of trouble. Getting in trouble in any place like this always meant bad things.
***
Nero walked into the Akrill's room and gave him a simple gesture that said 'We're needed...follow me.' ((Chrono, I'm going to assume he's following me to save time)) Nero hated it when the patients acted up but he hated it more when his staff did so too. They weren't very professional in their work, and seemed to be prone to getting into fights with the patients.
That wouldn't do...
Nero slammed open the doors to where the fight had broken out between the nurse and the patients. "ENOUGH!!" His voice sent shivers up the spines of all in the room, especially the nurse. He motioned for Akrill to take Crocodile to one of the quiet rooms, his eyes indicating that the use of force would be preferred. With one swift movement he strode over to the nurse and before the nurse could react, had been flung across the room and into a wall. "I will not have you all turning my Asylum into a rumble with straight-jackets. This will NOT happen again...understood?!" Nero eyed Izzy, Villain, and Daemon for a moment and turned to the nurse. He bent down low and whispered in her ear "You have harmed one of our patients....disciplinary action WILL be taken. You will meet me in my office in precisely one hour. Don't try to run...I've already told the guards to shoot you if you do. Do I make myself clear?" The nurse nodded quickly as Nero stood up and turned to see Akrill's progress.
-
Macid had stayed in his room during this whole fiasco. Even Dicam knew not to get riled up like they did. Besides his door was locked so he couldn't even if he wanted to. "Do you think we'll still have our session with the doctor today?" "Fat chance, those little brats probably knocked them all out cold. No-one left for me." Dicam growled as he finished his sentence. Macid climbed on his bed, lay down and looked at the ceiling. "I wish I could get better and leave this place." "Something has to be wrong with you first for you to get better." "I cant get rid of it though. I dont know how." "Don't. Its a gift. It makes you better than the rest of them."
-
Izzy looked at nero. He felt bad he had anger problems, he would of killed the fox if the nurse didn't sedate him. He knew it wasn't his fault that the nurse attacked villian but he couldn't help feel bad.
The doll was about to leave when something told it other wise. It ran around in circles and ran over to a TV. It jumped up and down suggesting for her to look.
-
The doll flew out of her hands on landed near the TV frantically waving its small hands around it. "Hmm...? What's wrong?" Cerise got up and kneel besides the doll. "Something bothering you?" She didn't know why it was circling the television.
-
Matt stood staring out of a peek hole in the door to his room in a way that nothing more than a harmless baby blue eye and some of his black scales was visible from the outside. he was still only new to the asylum and hadn't decided to go out and meet any of the other patients due to his personality disorder's habit of messing with people for fun. at times he had found him self as two personality's at once Rather than one at a time. he slowly turned, his calm blue eye turning a dark yellow as his mind turned back into max. "so what did i miss?" <nothing much, just a small disagrement between some other patients and some nurses.> <i wish you would have let me out, it's not like they lock the door's.> <bizneg, your the reason we're in here so if you wouldn't mind keeping quiet.> "hes not listening to you, your to polite for him to care what you have to say."
-
When they entered the room, Villain slumped to the floor. Her eyes seemed dull as if she was far away, and her knee was so painful she could barely stand. The chair in the quiet room began to float, and the legs of it began to be ripped off slowly with a groaning noise.
-
As the nurses approached Rigor, she put her hands behind her back, smiling, knowing that protocol meant she would be escorted to her room for being unruly. "What happened?" One of them asked, rather frustrated. Rigor's expression shifted to a more serious tone.
"He was touching my bracelets and bugging me, even after I asked him nicely to stop." The nurse looked somewhat puzzled and took Rigor's arms; she looked over Rigor's shoulder to see the fox disappearing down the hallway. The dragon chameleon did not struggle, instead she made conversation with the nurse as she was being escorted to her room. "Will I be seeing the doctor today?" Rigor gave a false smile, and the nurse smiled back, obviously comfortable with Rigor despite her sudden assault on the fox.
"I'm not sure. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you acted this way on purpose, just to go back to your room. Is that what you're doing?"
"If I said yes, would I be in trouble?" Rigor asked. Usually, when she got escorted to her room, she never struggled, and so a lot of the time, the nurses had grown comfortable with just grabbing her arms and walking her.
-
Crocodile leaned against the wall as Rigor and the nurse passed him. "Don't trust her; It's a pokerface, every sentence that she talks sweetly." He quickly muttered to the nurse so only she could've heard it. It probably would've sent Rigor on the warpath, but thankfully, she hadn't heard it. He looked up and down the hallway as water sprayed about, and that's when he noticed the venting. A lightbulb went off in his head as he remembering the rotors on the roof. "Holy crap... That's it." He said blankly. The plan went through his head in seconds. He wouldn't need too much to pull it off, either. Some chain... Maybe a wrench or hammer...
As he walked back to his room planning it out, Crocodile figured he was oh-so close to being free, he could almost taste the air of the outside.
Little did he know, he was oh-so wrong.
-
The nurse shrugged off what the fox had said to her. "Is that the young man?" she asked once they were out of earshot from him. Rigor merely looked at her and nodded, running her fingers down her bracelets as she was taken to her room. The nurse opened the door and placed Rigor inside, closing the door and locking it behind her. Rigor layed on her bed with her hands behind her head.
"Can you see if the doctor is visiting me?" the dragon chameleon asked quietly before the slot in the door closed. The nurse nodded in response, then slid the slot shut.
-
Akrill caught up to Crocodile, then slamed him against the wall, being careful to not let his lightning rod unsheath and accidentally shock the patient. "To quiet room..." he muttered before literally dragging him to such a vacant room and tossed him in there before shutting the door and locking it.
-
Crocodile shrugged as he was locked in and read the walls of the cell. Nothing interesting, just patients, angry at getting thrown in. He read the door. Nothing interesting. This was the first time he'd been in the quiet room, and he was relieved for having quiet...
To plot his escape.
-
<sounds like everyone is back in their room. can we get out of here now?> <i hate to admit it but i'm with bizneg, so can we go out and get some food if theirs any left?> "fine guys, but you two have to be on your best behaviour if we run into anyone." <i'll try.....if i have to.> <max why dont you take a rest, i'll take us out> "fine. but be carefull, my tails still sore from last time." max eyes turned back to the baby blue as he stood up and reached for the door. <ok i hope your right about the other patients being in their rooms, matt froze up last time we ran into someone.> "i can still hear you" <yes but now everyonr around you car hear you.> Matt slowly crept out of the room and started down the hall.
-
Nero patted Akrill on the shoulder. "Thank you Mr. Akrill. You may go back to your room now, if you wish." Nero walked back to his office, content that the problem had been resolved. He still had the matter of the nurse to attend to but otherwise everything seemed fine. The other doctors could see to the less unruly patients. His attention was only truly required during...special cases.
***
Entaru padded along quietly behind Sasha, trying to make as little noise as possible. Not to avoid detection, but to avoid upsetting Sasha. He really hated it when others acted up...it always made things so much worse for those who behaved. The aggravation the doctors felt about the disturbances always translated into a nastier environment for those like him.
-
Akrill stood there as Nero patted his shoulder, and a glimmer of a smile appeared on his face. "Will it be possible for me to leave this place? I want to put my... gift, to the test in a larger area." He tried to keep his hope from magnifying his electricity, but he had not been practicing emotional suppression long enough to keep back his more immature emotions.
-
Nero smirked and ruffled Akrill's hair like one would a child. "All in good time, dear boy. Someday you and the others will be able to walk free in the sunshine once again. Someday soon...we all will." Nero seemed to drift off in his own thoughts for a moment before shaking his head back into reality. "But that isn't today...I'm sorry. You may go into the garden area if you like but I'm afraid that's as large of an area as you can practice in for now."
-
Rigor lied back onto her bed in her room. Everything was its usual white. She seemed relaxed to be back in a familiar area, free from that fox or anyone else who was prone to bothering her. She yawned, not really out of being tired, but more or less out of being bored. She wished that she could watch the movie the Shining as it was one of her favorites, but that want soon passed as she rolled onto her belly, trying to get comfortable in her room.
-
matt nervously walked down the hall and into the day room, if anyone was in there he didn't notice. a nurse (his faverate nurse) came into the room with a small container. she smiled kindly and handed his the container of food she had kept aside for him. "thank you nurse." "always a pleasure matt. you know you three should get out more, meet some of the others in here." "you know how i am around people. and the others, the only one of us with any people skils is max but he doesn't trust me and bizneg to behave around others. well thanks for lunch, see you again later?" "maybe. but you'll have to talk to those brothers of yours first." "which ones? the ones i can talk to that bizneg can't or the ones i wish i didn't have to talk to sometimes?" <matt and the nurse sitting in a tree K.I.S.S.I.N.G!> "like right now....."
-
Akrill nodded, and almost skipped towards the garden. When arriving, he held his arms out and took a drowning breath before exhaling happily. He loosened his grip on his own emotions and let his lightning rod slip out of his arm. The electricity in his lightning rod spread across both arms, and he made bolts of lightning arc into the air. While he enjoyed practicing his gift, but he also had to make sure not to let it go to his head in both the figurative and literal sense.
Otherwise the electricity will hit much more than the occasional hawk or pigeon...
-
matt walked over and sat down next to a window, he watched the person down in the courtyard while quietly eating. he sighed looking down at the stranger before closing his eyes and opening his mind. he mentaly reached out and found a nearby shadow to talk to, ths time it was a small spider on the wall next to him. "well hello there, how are you today?" <fine thanks, it's been a while matt. still having trouble with meeting new people?> "yes it has been a while tilk, and yes. i still havn't gotten over my fear of meeting new people. if you want you can climb down here, you can even make your web in my cell if you want, you know so it doesn't get taken down by the nurses." <that sounds wonderfull. thank you, your always so nice to me.> the small spider climbed down and sat on matt's shoulder. "well you have been a good friend to me." <yes but i am but a spider, no the shadow of a spider. we both know that, and while i may be able to treat this weak minded body as my own i am still nothing more than that. so if i'm moving in with you and your brothers then i'm not going to rest till you get yorself some friends> "but i have friends." "real, non-shadow friends...> "ok, i'll try." the two sat there and matt quietly ate while he and now tilk watched akrill in the courtyard.

Katie fell asleep, and she dreamt of drawing....rolling, flowing hills and gardens of her own creation, the freedom to be by herself and do as she pleased. Beautiful worlds of every color, springing from crayon dust to reality. But then it got lonely. She did not like the gardens anymore. There was no-one to share it with. So she remembered the halloween cats, her longtime friends, the ones to never leave her. She drew them as well and they sprang to life more beautiful than any normal black panther or witches' cat. But even this...came to an end. Black shapes tore away at her art--- scratching, horrid claws of pitch black night, claws of reality ---and slowly she awoke.
As she opened her eyes, she felt a bit of regret...the promise of an end to her medication that Nero had proposed was more than alluring but he was a fool to think she had the patience to wait. She was the type to wait only if it fit her current mood. Otherwise, she was the type to never stop until she had exactly what she needed. Right now, she needed out, and was willing to kill anyone who stood in the way of that goal. Maybe there was something she could do to satisfy her own needs yet not end up back in the quiet room for another grand escape attempt. Maybe she needed to be more methodical. There was a plan for her, set in motion by the night himself that she could not deny...a plan she had so generously worshipped for as long as she could remember. She was going to have to try something new. There could be something in Nero or the others that she had not had the desire to investigate up until now.
The cat was still there, snoozing and purring on her chest. She pet it absentmindedly as she pushed herself up to a sitting position. There was no way to destroy the cat yet, as she had no paper, and no utensil. Sometimes the art of drawing seemed to her like the worst sort of witchcraft...Katie could create things, then destroy them with symbols. Hexes. Voodoo.
The thought made Katie shudder every so often, though it was no more appealing than the thought of what she was going to have to do to further her agenda...She was going to have to go against the rules yet again and get herself locked up a second time. Only this time it would be for drawing instead of doing bookwork, perhaps starting a fight to make it noticed, and most prefferably doing something so horrible after that she would be locked up for the whole night. She would draw something so unintelligible that only she could recognize it. This thing she would draw...would be a way to unlock the door to the quiet room and grant her swiftness and shadow from cameras. From there it would be in her hands.
***
Sasha hurried to her room, mummuring a quiet goodbye to Entaru before slipping away. Once inside, she panted in distress, and like someone possessed, streamlined to her excersise bar and climbed up, wrapping her tail around it before dropping down to hang. She closed her eyes in preperation for a nap, which would clear her mind...She felt something was very, very wrong. Of course, she always felt something was wrong...this may have been no different than all her other superstitions.

Swiftly, a doctor approached Macid's room. An hour late, give or take, which marked him tainted. He was the nervous sort of young recruit, blonde and hurried, and the way he fidgeted made it seem as though he would drop the clipboard in his hands at any second. Beyond a doubt, he was worried of what the patient would do or say, of what Nero would do if he found out he had neglected his schedule. Yet he needed to go anyway.
He pushed the door open and walked in abruptly.
"Hello," he introduced himself. "Macid, is it? I'm your new counselor. Scott Asher." He held out his hand awkwardly and let out a nervous laugh. "I'm new here, so be easy on me, okay?"
-
"You're late, new meat. You were supposed to be here an hour ago." Dicam sat cross legged on the floor staring at Scott. His eyes furrowing in disgust. That they would send a new doctor who couldn't even stay on time. "Hi Scott. That's Dicam, Im Macid. What kept you?" Macid smiled at Scott. It was always nice to meet new people.
-
The doctor pulled his rejected hand back, and though he tried to do it unnoticed, it was obvious what he was doing as he switched between glancing at Macid and glancing at the information on the clipboard. "I can see that you are never alone, are you? What with Dicam to keep you company. It's nice to have...people you can trust." The doctor sat down on the bed and smiled at the lynx. "Today we aren't going to be invasive. No tests. No notes. No bookwork. Just plain and simple chatting. So tell me...what would you like to accomplish in your time here? Have any goals? Plans for when you leave?"
-
Dicam burst out laughing. His laughter loud and almost like a super villain would do. Just as suddenly as it began, he stopped with a smile on his face. "Do you really think I'll be able to leave?" "You ******* idiot! We can't leave! What makes you think they'll ever let us leave here? And goals? Ha! The only goal is to survive!" Macid was still sitting on the floor as he argued with Dicam. "But Scott just said we might be able to leave? Why would he say that if we couldn't ever leave?" Macid looked up at the doctor, hoping for an answer.
-
"I wouldn't." the doctor smiled again, as fake as a smile created with plastic surgery, but the words he spoke rang truth. Murky truth, but still truth. "Those patients who...complete the program are indeed allowed to leave. It just takes some dedication. Yes, dedication to yourself and the program." Scott quickly jotted some notes down, keeping what he wrote hidden from view.
-
"Program." Macid pondered the thought. He thought the program meant him getting better. But the way he said it made it sound like something else. "Tell me of this program doc, I'm just dying to know more." Dicam fidgeted a bit in his spot. Being apart of these interrogations was never something he enjoyed. "Their not interrogating us Dicam, they're trying to help us. I'm sorry about him. He doesn't like being asked so many questions." Macid smiled at Scott. "But I too am interested in this program. What exactly is it?"
-
The doctor was startled...he....had no real answer to define the program appropriately. "Well...it's what you've been doing. And what you should keep doing. Your bookwork, working with counselors to find a solution to your problems. Once you get to a certain level of study, you move up to being a mentor, like Rigor. And, after that, who knows?" He did not exactly hit the nail on the head there. Nero himself would be dissapointed in such a reply. "But...there are some patients who excel faster than others, and it is to them we grant a- special audience, a hearing of sorts to see if they are ready to...leave, yes, ready to leave." The young doctor fumbled again, he knew he was saying all this wrong, and it was the doctor who wanted to leave, get away from this stress. A bead of sweat formed on his neck. He was too young, a fresh graduate, he shouldn't be given this responsibility...
-
a tall dark green scaled lizard walked up behind matt and smiled softly at him while e was talking to the small spider, she walked over and sat down next to him, startling him a bit. she giggled when he jumped slightly. "ricca, i didn't hear you come in." "good afternoon to you to matt. i thought you'd still be in your room." "no, we can't just stay locked up all day. you know full well that your brothers body needs occasional sunlight, or we get sleepy." <you know you love it> <i do> "guys, i'm trying to have a conversation." "tell them to behave. remember i know you three the better than anyone outside your head." <did she just threaten me?> "no bizneg, your just intelectualy disabled> "die for your incolence!> the two personalities started mentaly hitting each other and only matt could hear the punches and such. "i swear these two are going to put all three of us in an early grave..."
-
The door opened, and Crocodile slipped out. Did they honestly think it was that hard to get the door open? The young fox looked up at a grated vent. He crouched down, shook his haunches, and sprang up, grabbing the vent. His weight was far too much, and he fell to the floor, the vent's grate coming down as well, making a tremendous crash. Croc froze with terror. Nobody was coming. Yet. He picked up the vent and sprang up again, scrambling into the vent. He put the vent back in place and proceeding to slowly, and somehow, silently, crawl through the venting. He read the cold steel. Nothing too spectacular. As he continued through the vents, thinking about his good fortune, Crocodile didn't notice a distinct 'thwum, thwum, thwum'-ing noise. As he rounded a corner, he went to scream and his air was sucked from his lungs. A gigantic fan was spinning before him, sucking in warm air and spewing out cold. He felt himself slipping... He tried to grip the metal, but to no avail. A piece of his tail fur was sliced into the fan. Pain shot up Crocodile's spinal column, and his grip slipped, and he just barely caught himself, not two inches in front of the fan. His tears of absolute terror were sucked in. He had to grab his tail to keep it out of the deadly spinning fanblades. His energy was fading, dying didn't seem too bad to the alternative of this hospital.
Suddenly, he just let himself go, and as he fell through the blade, 'Dance Dance' by Fallout Boy became stuck in his mauled head as his limp, unconscious, but barely alive body hit the cold steel, fell through the grating, and hit the concrete floor in the community room.
-
matt completely froze up and ricca ran over and hit an alarm on her way over to the body. she emediatly used her tail to wake up max who ran over to help. the two started using max's shirt to try and stop the bleeding, hoping more help would get there quickly.
-
Macid jumped at the sound of the alarm going off. He looked at the doctor with a panicked, quizzical look. "What's going on? Why is the alarm going off? Do you have to go? Macid never liked being alone as it made Dicam all the more powerful. When he was talking with other people, he seemed to gain some control over his personality again. He didn't want Scott to leave.
-
Scott leaped at the opportunity, a young, starving hyena on a carcass. "Yes, Macid, I'm sorry but I have to go." He fished in the pocket of his lab coat for something...a pure silver, double-banded ring with a white diamond centered. The diamond glittered strangely, unnaturally, as though caught in artificial light. "But I can give you this while I am gone. This ring is very special, and will protect you from all the things you don't want in your life." Without asking if he wanted it, the ring was shoved into Macid's hand. Scott hated this. He really did. The others could pull it off so well, yet he...always came off as cheesy and unbelievable. Without another word he left, locking Macid's room behind him. A cold metallic sound.

The accident in the community room was cleaned up post-haste. The loose patients were escorted back to their rooms and the injured lad wheeled away to the medical triage within a matter of twenty minutes. Dinner was served in-room (poor Katie excluded), Nero was called to the third floor for a private discussion later that night, and Katie finally released from her punishment and sent back to her room around midnight.....all was quiet for the rest of the night.
About seven am, it started up again. This time the nurses were nervous as they went to wake up their patients.
-
The alarms had caused Rigor to jump, not really knowing what was going on. It seemed like this particular day was filled with a lot of chaos. Unlike most of the patients, though, she stayed settled on her bed, not attempting to get up and rush to the slot on her door to see what was going on. After the alarms were cut off, she closed her eyes, going into a dreamlike state. She didn't sleep, but she came back to this world when her dinner arrived. She had no appetite, however, so she left the tray where it was. "Another day.." She muttered to herself by the time it was protocol for lights out.
-
As his door shut with that familiar sound, Macid looked at the ring Scott had given him. "What a piece of junk! To think he gave something to you is laughable!" Macid continued to look at the ring. He felt around the bands and diamond. It was too small to fit on his finger, so he just moved it around in his hand. He slowly smiled as he got up and went over to his bed. "There's probably a microphone in it. They want to spy on us!" Dicam was trying to freeze the ring so he could shatter it, but found that he could not move. Macid lay down in the bed and closed his eyes, slowly drifting off to sleep. With Scott's ring, Dicam was just a voice in his head now.
When morning came, Macid awoke feeling better than he had ever been. The ring was still in his hand as he rubbed his eyes. It had been the best sleep he had gotten in years.
-
Akrill hung off of three ceiling bars while he was asleep. Each one was placed to provide the maximum support needed, and the minimum contact required for him to stay on during his sleep. These bars were basically put there to make sure he didn't have any nasty nightmares, as he would instantly fall out and wake up if he made any sudden movements. Today he was able to sleep without nightmares, letting him awake to sight the rather bland layer of paint and granite that was his room. He slowly pushed off of the bar across his legs, and grabbed onto the bar by his head as he spun around the bar and dismounted rather gracefully for someone who had only woke up just ten seconds ago. Once again, I awake to find myself alone and not alone. I wonder if I could get an appointment with Katie... I can at least defend myself from whatever is scaring everyone else from her.
-
max sat on his bed, he haddn't been able to get to sleep due to the constant noise in his head. <he's going to die i know it! i can still see the images burning out my eyes!> "matt, calm down. you've been at it for hours." <i should have done more! i just froze up and...> there was a loud thump on the door as ricca walked past, she hadn't gotten any sleep either, <he's dead!!! he'sdeadhe'sdeadishouldhave done morevzkbvbhbzlzvnvnfvkjbvv> <oh dear god! can i please knock us out? he's not even speaking words any more!>
-
She didn't sleep, but she managed to stay in the dreamlike state between being awake and total unconsciousness. She had perfected the art of allowing her mind to go and her to stay alert, not really fully asleep. She breathed deeply, resting in what seemed to almost be a meditative state as she laced her fingers together on top of her chest. It wasn't until she heard one of the nurses come in that she opened her eyes. "I don't see why we even have to come and wake you Rigor... You wake up as soon as I touch the door every morning." the nurse commented, eyeing Rigor. Although she had done this several times, she was still not used to the dragon chameleon sitting up before she even touched her.
-
Nero sat in his office, rubbing his temples. Yesterday had been a disaster...a fight, 2 escape attempts, and a full on mutilation. One attempt had been Katie...which was to be expected of her. She was a special case which required his attention at all times. This new upstart however....this Crocodile...was becoming a problem. 3 out of 4 of yesterday's events had him at the center. Isolation wouldn't be enough.
It was time he paid this delinquent a personal visit.
****
Entaru woke up with a start, his nails broken from clawing at his casts all night. All he could remember from his dream was being covered in a flowing cascade of insects and spiders. Not biting, just crawling around him....running in and out of his hair and clambering down his throat, suffocating him. He looked at his bed around him and noticed one of his blankets had wrapped around his neck in the middle of the night. With a light but shaky laugh, he threw off his blanket into the corner of the room. But the weight of the blanket on him was still there. He froze as he felt the weight shift as he heard something spill onto itself as he sat up. He looked down slowly at the rest of his body....and screamed.
Thousands of beetles, ants, and spiders were holding him down with their weight. They all were asleep but Entaru didn't notice or care. He just screamed.
-
Katie did not wake for she had never actually been asleep....she didn't dare sleep. Too dangerous. Naturally, no sleep left her more tired than before, a sort of haze that clouded her vision and made it difficult to force herself into moving more than she had to. But she would be fine. So long as she kept up the act, as long as she got where she needed to be and did what she needed to do it would be alright.
She climbed out of bed at the first sound of nurses approaching. ... "Katie, why, you're up early..." it was one of the elderly nurses, a plump, gentle looking squirrel, who came and opened the door with a smile. "It's like you were waiting for me." she was one of the rare nurses who somehow did not seem to fear Katie, instead treating her like a child. "Come now, let's go get you a shower and a fresh set of scrubs..."
"Yes, let's go," Katie replied very quietly.

Sasha dreamt of home, soft visions of her family dancing in her head...but they were gone when she awoke, a nurse shaking her at the shoulder. The dreams were replaced by a horrifying sound...Screaming, from the room next door. Like a cat in fighting mode, the lemur's fur went on end. "What is..."
"That's just Entaru," the male nurse said.
"Just Entaru?" Sasha shoved the nurse's arms away from her and sat up. "What do you mean? He could need help!"
-
A scream echoed through the hallways, causing Rigor to direct her vision to the door, as the nurse exited. She wasn't entirely sure what was going on. She attempted to get the nurse's attention but failed to because the nurse seemed to be scurrying in the direction of the scream. "I was just wanting to know what I was going to do today.." She muttered under her breath. She seemed irritated that the nurse had just taken off on her, but she kept her composure... At least on the outside because she couldn't afford to be ill behaved. On the inside, she was insulting the nurse with words that would have made any sailor blush.
-
Macid heard a scream echoing from the hallways. "Who was that, do you think?" "Some poor soul getting tortured. Just like you will be soon." Macid frowned as he stretched out of his bed. Suddenly he realized that the ring was no longer in his hand. Frantically, he started searching the bed for it. "Whats the matter? Lose something? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!" His breath began to shorten as he tore off the sheets to find it. When the sheets flew threw the air, he caught a glimpse of it flying with them. As it landed in the pile, he quickly snatched it and held it close.
-
max heard the scream across the hall and looked up, not really wanting to find out what happened. matt on the other hand had just calmed down when the scream set him off again. <oh god, noy another one. we're all gonna die. it's the nurses. their doing this. or it's one of the other patients. slowly trying to kill us off.> <another one bittes the dust, oh another one down, oh another one down, another one bittes the dust!> "quiet bizneg. look matt i'm sure it's nothing, and besides. the closest nurse to that room was our sister, so unles your acusing her of hurting someone i don't think it could be the nurses" "but it's posible! it's all posible! their hiding somethink but i can't find out what, listen to me. they're not like normal doctors or nurses, they know things.....> "matt you sound like a conspericy therist." <can hit him now?...> max sighed lightly. "sure..." with that he rose from his bed, hearing a loud thump in his head, and walked over to the small hole in the wall, and watched the scene unfold.
ricca was walking past her brothers room still unable to sleep after the ordeal, she banged on his door knowing he would be awake and went to continue her rounds when she heard a loud scream from the door to her left. she quickly opened the door and saw the mass of insects, not really thinking she rushed in and grabbed entaru and pulled him out of his room, slamming the door shut behind them, more nurses were running up the hall, noe of which knew what had happened.
-
Entaru, now in a full panic, clawed at the nurse who yanked him out of his room. Fortunately for her, his nails were all but gone thanks to the night before. At best all he did was flutter his hands across her face like a scared bird would flutter its feathers if it smacked into someone it had not expected. There were still large quantities of bugs crawling all over him, and they were very clearly agitated. A small swarm of flies and wasps leapt off of him in a cloud and began biting and stinging the nurses. Insects of varying size and color quickly began to cross from Entaru and onto Ricca. Various spiders began biting at her hands while a large centipede unraveled itself from Entaru's leg and made its way to Ricca's.
Entaru didn't know it, but the bugs were defending him from what he was perceiving as a threat. Ricca had torn him out of his room, scaring him even more...and now his feeble mind was in defense mode.
-
ricca felt the bugs crawling on her, she didn't mind them much, most of them not getting past her scales. she tried to calm entaru and quickly ended up letting him go after another nurse got him with a neddle while he was distracted. once he was down the neurse from eirlier cheaked him over then helped up ricca. "are you ok? a lot of those could be venomous." "i'll be fine, i just need some re....res....t..." her vision blured as she spoke, the posibly leathle cocktail of venoms mixing in her blood fron all the bites and stings as ricca passed out next to entaru.
-
Macid was getting a little restless from just sitting in his room. The nurses usually weren't this late for his daily checkup. "Perhaps that screaming needs all of them." He pondered out loud.
-
Entaru huddled himself into a corner, his back facing the nurses as the drugs worked their magic on his system. Soon the bugs began to disperse as the thing that had attracted them became scrambled with the cocktail. Scrambling away from the light, the last cockroach fled from underneath Entaru's clothes and disappeared into a crack in the wall. A trail of drool began to slide down Entaru's face as his entire body relaxed without his permission. His eyes were completely glazed over as he slumped the rest of the way into the corner.
The screaming stopped...
-
as entaru began to relax ricca began to convolse, it took five nurses to get her straped down on a stretcher and into the infermery where they began franticly working to save her.
back in max's room he saw them taking ricca away, he saw her condition and bacame worried, now max and matt were both cowering inside their head as bizneg took controle."you guys and pathetic." <she's my sister! i'm supposed to care if she dies!!> <i saw a guy fall from the roof bleeding to death!!> "so? you think i care? if you would let me i would have put both of those people in their condition."
-
Crocodile opened one eye, the other still too sore for him to use at all. His tail no longer had it's usual puff, but rather, it was skinny, almost like that of a wolf. His arms and legs felt like lead, and he may or may not have had an IV cord in his arm. His entire body was numb, and he couldn't see too far with the eye he was using. He tried to read the bed he was on, but nothing came to him. He sighed in his thoughts, his lungs too ruptured (And tired) for him to speak. He looked to one side, and noticed a reflection, a tiny, insignificant reflection on a scalpel. 'Is that my face?' The young fox thought as he looked back at... Himself. His good eye twitched. Half his face... Was gone, replaced by raspberry-red muscle, the eye on that side glazed over with blindness. His right ear was mauled as well, the tip torn up (It was also nothing short of a miracle, he thought, that he could hear out said ear). He put his gaze back towards the ceiling, thinking hard. He nearly killed himself trying to escape. It just wasn't worth it. He tried to lie on his side, but as soon as he did, it felt like a bomb went off in his ribcage. He lay back down on his back, talking to himself inside his head. 'It'll be fine, the docs'll fix you up. Then... I dunno. Maybe you can try to find a friend. Keep your sanity intact. Piece of cake.'
'Pff, famous last words.'
-
Nero walked into the infirmary, a stern look on his face. Scanning the beds he set his eyes on Crocodile's bed. He had to hold back a smile and laughter as he saw the shape the fox was in. ServeSThELittlEBastarDRighTTryinGTOEscapEFooLFooLFooLFooL Nero shook his head, cleared the thought from his mind and walked over beside the mangled fox. "Well, well, well....you must be the poor boy who fell into the exhaust fan. Aren't you the same one who started that fight yesterday? You seem to have a knack for trouble, don't you boy?"
The door to the infirmary swung open as Ricca was carrried in. Her body was covered in swollen welts from all the stings and poisonous bites the insects had given her. Nero glanced in her direction as she was carried by. "Use 6cc's of compound 47...this isn't the first time Entaru's thrown a fit." His expression never changing, Nero turned back to Crocodile. "This also isn't the first time someone has tried to escape, young man. Try it again and you probably won't be as lucky as you were....and believe me when I say, you WERE lucky. I've lost patients, as well as doctors, to stunts like that. We wouldn't want anything to happen to you now would we?"
-
After lying on her bed trying to go back to her meditative state, her impatience got the best of her. Rigor stood up and began to pace around her room like a flustered animal, ready for attack. She fiddled with her hospital bracelets, trying to calm herself as she paced to no avail. Every now and then she would stop at the slot of her door and peer out of it down the hall as if searching for something to do.
-
The young fox glared up at Nero, a murderous stare that said 'So what if I've got a knack for trouble.' He gathered the breath in his chest, and was able to croak out speech. "I was put in here..." He coughed, "Against my will... For a crime I did not commit. I'd sooner do that again and hope Death has room for an appointment than keep living here." He let out a short breath, using up the last of his air and began taking it from the IV cord in his arm. He looked around for somethign to write on. He barely grabbed a notepad and a pen from a table near his bed. He wrote out, "Yes, I was the one who started that 'fight'. I tried to make a friend. Not my fault if she's sensitive. And don't call me 'boy', I'm 12 years old!". He glanced up at Nero, then scribbled something down before falling asleep.
"The second I get out of this bed, I'm going to be plotting again. You can lock me in a room and give me a straightjacket. I'll find a way out. I don't deserve this place. I will escape. Urah."
-
Nero grinned as he read the notepad. "As soon as you get out of bed, huh? Well, then...I guess we should work on keeping you there." Nero placed his hand on Crocodile's head and closed his eyes, concentrating. Nero's voice seemed to shriek inside Crocodile's dreams. Don'TAcTSOHigHAnDMightY....ThEPatientSHerEAren'TThEOnlYOneSWitHPoweR...IDon'TNeeDStraightjacketSTOMakEYoUBehavEBoY...AlLINeeDISAScraPOFTissuEAnDYoUProvideDMEWitHMorEThaNEnougH OFThaT...Sleep for now......I will show you exactly what I mean in your dreams....
Nero removed his hand and shredded the paper Crocodile had written on. The young fox would be plagued with nightmares involving Nero for the next three days...Nero made damn sure of that. He left the infirmary, slightly annoyed as he realized what time it was. It had taken him a little too much time to insert his pysche into Crocodile's and now he was late for his visit with Katie. He quickened his pace as he tried to make up lost time.
-
Macid paced in his room thinking to himself. "Maybe I woke up too early and they haven't done anyone's checkups yet. But that screaming, they had to tend to that because it stopped now. They can't forget about me, can they?" As he thought, he twiddled the ring in between his fingers, considering the thought of trying to freeze his way out to get their attention, but quickly pushed the thought aside when he remembered the first time he tried that in his room. The heat and electricity that eminated from the floor was almost unbearable to the point of instant unconsciousness. Not even Dicam was crazy enough to try that again. He walked up to the door to try and listen to any noises that sounded like footsteps.
-
In his dreams, Crocodile was plagued by terror. Someone was following him, and when reading them from a distance, he sensed agony, deceit, and a murderous appetite for death. Was this guy a killer? The young fox had no time to think. He was running through a lab... It was the one from Resident Evil 4! He slipped on ice that had encrusted around a door, and kicked at the frosted steel. No budge. He head footsteps, and his heart skipped a beat. 'Oh, God... No, no, no, no, no, no, no!' He thought, horrified of what this... Thing might do to him if it caught up. It was Nero, no doubt, but a deeper, darker, second conscience of Nero. He remembered the icy threat the other Nero told him in a fast, cryptic voice that changed in tone randomly. He clawed at the cold, iced metal of the door, the security slot's light off. 'Oh, sweet God, no...!' He kicked the door again, and the footsteps stopped. They started again, more rapidly. It knew where he was. Ice coursed through his veins. He punched the steel as he leaned his head against it. He turned around... And it was there. Ice formed in Crocodile's veins, but he stood where he was. He was too scared, and too unafraid at the same time, to do anything. It just stood there... Wide-eyed and smiling at him. The young fox stepped away from the door, staring back...
A loud crash resounded in the dream, and the other Nero slumped to the floor as Crocodile lowered his foot. "I know you're trying your best, but you can't scare me. Ever since I was brought here, I figured out pretty quickly that I going to be alone. Night-time and my dreams became my friends. I know the difference between real and unreal, fantasy and reality." Crocodile said plainly, not intending to sonud as if he was a hot-shot or knew it all. He wasn't too special, and didn't know it all. But he knew enough to know what was going on, and why Nero's dark conscience was here. "Why do you want me to stay here? Why can't I choose for myself?" The young fox asked, leaned back against the wall. "I understand I'd be the only one of my kind out there... But what business is it of others what kind of life I want to live?" He said, crossing his arms and welcoming the cold ice into his veins.

Katie, who after a sleepless night was left feeling whimsical in the worst meaning of the term, was escorted to the showers and taken care of as usual. The nurse was shocked at the way Katie showed cooperation, she even agreed to swallow her cup of medication without the slightest tinge of annoyance or anger in her expression. The two stood in the nurse's lobby in the midst of the rooms, waiting for the others. Katie was usually dismissed from things involving the other patients, even for something like what happened with Entaru, she was assured a separate schedule and separate nurse, and this nurse never paid any attention to what was going on elsewhere, only Katie. The longer she could be separated from the others, the less chance for danger...the less chance for harm to befall another patient, as Katie showed no trigger signs for when and where she would decide to spring on an innocent. She quite honestly wished them all dead, but brief spasms of gratification were all she could accomplish here in this place.
"Katie, dear, how did you sleep last night?" the plump nurse asked. Being well in age, the nurse still thought it proper to call younger girls dears.
"Better than usual," Katie lied.
The nurse faltered. Under her fur, her cheeks flushed pale white...normally all she expected was a shrug from the young girl. "Why, you've said something to me...I've never heard you speak a word since you've got here."
"Hmmm." Katie smiled dreamily. "I don't speak that much when I'm unhappy. But I am happy. Now. You would be happy. Too. If you knew who I was. Nero doesn't. He thinks he knows. Who. Said he was going to take me off. Eventually. I'd like to see that one. He wants control in an uncontrollable environment. What rubbish. You'd think they would have got it by now. Those drug companies in the government. That you can't keep a good dog down. Just can't. Soon we'll be immune. What we have. Is nothing that drugs. To help." As she spoke, the girl tilted back her head and examined the ceiling lights as though she expected the roof to vanish.
Meanwhile, the nurse grew increasingly pale as though her skin color would soon match that of her fur. Katie, of all people, speaking so much, a theorist. Either the girl was having a breakthrough moment in her treatment or something was very wrong....She began to consider cutting Nero off at the path and warning him. "Well, I'm sure everything will work out...the way you think it will," the nurse said nervously.
Katie began to sway as though the lights danced above her, every so often she would chuckle. "I'm positive it will too...Yet I would sure like to speak with Nero sooner than later. I've got to ask him. Who he thinks he was. He must think he's very. Late. Too. But can he can never be late. Not here. Not. In control. Not in control of the most dreadful tea party. He ruins his guests' appetites!" Now she laughed wholly, her hands flying to her mouth to try and contain the overflow of laughter.
"Who he thinks he...oh goodness." The nurse ran to cut Nero off. She asked a free doctor on the corner to run to Katie's side, yet another emergency, this one discreet...he rushed to his duty...She came across Nero, who was rushing to make up time on yet another corner. "Doctor, goodness I'm frightened," the woman put a hand to her heart as she slowed down to step alongside him. "That Katie girl, she's talking, talking in...in...just crazy talk. I've never heard her talk at all since she's been here and let me tell you to hear these kinds of words is scary for me, very scary to think what they might mean. I'm not implying anything, but she's even said she wanted to talk with you and I know well she hates doctor visits. Please, try and put my poor old heart at rest when you meet with her."
****
Macid could hear it long before it happened, the footsteps, the keys jangling, as the door to his room was unlocked and pushed open, casting a new shade of bright, artificial light against the linoleum floor. A doctor walked in...Scott anew. He noticed the way Macid had the ring so tightly in his fingers, how close he was to the door. "You really shouldn't worry so much, Macid, Dicam. It hasn't been that long since wake up call. Everything will happen in due time, and worrying is what triggers negativity. Confidence. That's what you need." Scott smiled. "I at least hope the ring relieved you somewhat..."

Rigor was in store for a trainer, not a doctor. They called them personal trainers, like ones celebrities receive for fitness counseling, only this was for real counseling and guidance. It was a woman, who had learned the skills necessary to graduate from the position of nurse...Her name was Nadia, she was a golden retriever, with her equally golden hair tied in a ponytail that fell down her back, a contrast to the practically ridiculous blue sports suit she wore.
"Yo, Rigor," she called as she stepped into the room, a wide smile on her face. She give Rigor 'the nod,' which she hoped would calm the dragon chameleon. "What's been up with you lately? Haven't seen you in a week or so, sister."
Sometimes this woman's efforts to appeal to the modern generation failed in a terribly embarrassing way.

Max was the last to get relief, as Ricca had had to be replaced, by a nontalkative neko with tan ears and tail and caramel skin, who went by the name Vida. She didn't want to say much, to avoid getting attached to a patient she wouldn't spend a lot of time with.
Quietly, she pulled up a chair from his desk and opened his file, pulling out a pencil from her pocket. Being inexperienced, she wasn't like the others, able to remember. She had to write down what was exchanged. "Morning, Max" she finally said, tail twitching awkwardly. "Ricca is fine. She is being taken care of in the medical wing as we speak."
****
Sasha's male nurse had left to take care of the problem...and had not come back. So with her door wide open, the little lemur was left little choice but to walk right out into the hall and start looking for food, her tail twisting into any number off odd shapes. She passed by a few nurses who looked at her funny. She was sweet however, asking them when her nurse would be back, and seemed to pose no threat to anyone.
Soon she came to Katie at the lobby, and her tail went limp. She hated how creeped out Katie always made her, and now was no exception. The young chinchilla, eyeing the young lemur with a devilish grin, arms folded as she rested against the counter, as though Katie was considering her for breakfast.
"You don't get to talk to Nero. What a shame. You don't get far." Katie's head turned as she spoke: "You know. Why are you here? Pathetic, writhing little thing you are. Have no guts. No fear for the unmerciful. No drive. Order hates you. Hates you. Loves me. Nero hates me. Thinks he likes me. But. Order loves me---"
"Nero? Well, I've never..." Sasha fidgeted shyly, embarrassed that she was being picked on. Indeed, she lacked guts.
"Don't listen to Katie." The doctor behind the counter said. "She's only trying to make you feel bad so that she can feel in control."
-
"**** you Scott! **** you all the way to hell!" Macid stood there smiling at Scott. "Yes. It has." Twiddling the ring between his fingers, he tilted his head to the side, bouncing slightly in place with a small smile on his face. "What are we gonna today Scott?
-
"don't say tht to loud. max might actualy hear you." <hear what? is it about ricca?!> "yes, shes in a coma and isn't waking up" <what?! no she can't just leave us like this!> "oh and nurse, for the record, red eyes = bizneg." he sat down on the floor staring through the replacement "you don't know much about us three do you? well seeing as i can't be bothered beating you senceless for no reason i gues i could tell you if you want, just play along so i can stay in controle of max's body for a little while longer and we'll get along fine."
-
"I'm not your sister." Rigor said flatly. She always seemed to shoot down anything implying friendship between the two whenever Nadia spoke to her. She didn't quite understand the nod entirely, but she calmed somewhat, trying to tell herself that Nadia would let her out of her small room if she tolerated her. She never did more than tolerate Nadia. "You ever think you might get somewhere if you spoke in a manner that suited your age?" She didn't really bother to answer the second question. Although she was in training, she was still treated like a patient at the asylum. "You make a fool out of yourself trying to fit to standards not suited for you."
-
"I suppose." Nadia twirled a pen between her fingers. "For the most part it's never really mattered to me. If you wanted me to shut up you should have said so long ago. Hmm." She smiled brightly, Rigor's harshness completely wiping off on her, and breifly glanced at the notebook turned open in her hands. "I've got something you're going to like to hear, yes, I do." The smile grew. "You and I are going outside today. As in, outside outside. Of course, we have to do the stupid breifing first, but you and I....we're going out and have some fun." She winked suggestively and went for the door, nodding for Rigor to follow her.
***
Vida chuckled lowly, then frowned, confused. She wrote something down, then glanced up. "So....you're telling me...Max...is not in control right now?" Were all doctor jobs this difficult? Her ears went back.
***
Scott jumped at the outburst, then calmed as much as he could. He seemed to consider his next words for a moment, hovering halfheartedly in postition. "You know, I've been speaking to your last doctors and you've been doing very well, showing such great potiential." He tilted his head to the side. "Makes me wonder if you wouldn't like me to ask one of the head doctors if it was okay we went outside with Rigor's group today. By outside, I mean a field trip outside the Asylum. You've never been on one, have you?"
-
Rigor stood up, and followed the doctor, cynically. She wasn't really sure, but she felt as if Nadia was leading her into something that wasn't worth the effort, as if the mention of going outside would be a bribe to make her do something else. As much as she wanted to go outside, she didn't want it dangled over her head. "What business do we have outside? Who authorized it?" She asked, still not convinced. She crossed her arms, waiting for an answer. "No one just goes outside to go outside."
-
"Hun, it's one of our field trip days. You know well I authorize every one of these trips with Nero before I even consider asking you. Besides, this time it's just for fun. Don't you want to be spoiled every now and then?" Nadia flipped back her ponytail with a thin hand.
-
"Out... outside? Like where the sun is? Are you sure I can?" Macid sat down on his bed with a sullen look on his face. "He's been very angry since yesterday Scott. More than usual. I don't think he likes you very much." The words that then flowed from Dicam's mouth were as profane as they ever were, but this time they stayed in Macid's head. Slowly he turned his head towards the doctor with a sad frown. "Am I ever gonna get better?"
-
Scott went over, leaned down, and placed a sturdy hand on Macid's shoulder. "You can get better. No, you will get better." Something different, almost metallic, flashed in his eyes now. "Someday soon, I might even give you the opportunity to heal completely. No pain. No difficulty. But that's something that I ....cannot ask of you now." The eyes were back to normal. So was the smile. "But of course. I'm sure Rigor wouldn't mind a tag-along on her little trip." Scott laughed, half jokingly, half scared of the prospect of telling Rigor she would have a buddy.
-
Akrill went over to the door and clicked his talons against it before slamming his palm into the door. "Can I get out now?" He almost yelled, not really having heard any steps come across his room. Tension built in his body as his eagerness to meet Katie, almost overriding his constant battle with his more impulsive half. He can't remember having a nurse or aide, and Nero is the only non-patient he can recognize by voice or face.
-
Macid smiled slightly at Scott's words. If he thought that he could get better, then maybe it wasnt impossible. At the mention of a full heal, Macid became confused but decided not to press on it any further as Scott said that he couldn't do it now anyway. He tried to remember who Rigor was. "Rigor... is the.. chameleon right?"
-
Nero smiled softly at the nurse and put his hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, madam. I was on my way to talk to her anyway. You musn't take what the patients say to heart...while they may speak their opinions, they are hardly ever correct. This is an asylum, remember" With a reassuring pat, he nodded to the nurse. "Continue your rounds...I will take care of her. If your schedule allows it, let Akrill out. He's been wanting outside and I think today's fieldtrip will be a welcome thing for him."
With that he left the nurse to her duties. He already knew she'd be waiting for him. Something about her...he couldn't put his finger on it. It was almost as if they were both magnets...spinning so that their poles would cause them to be drawn to eachother one minute and then repulsed the next. He liked her, no doubt about it...but something about her felt like it was out to kill him. He had never felt that way before...not in all of his years. No single entity had actually been able to generate anxiety in him..and yet this patient had succeded in that.
Shaking it off, Nero finally made it to the lobby. He glanced at Sasha momentarily and then turned to Katie with a smile. "I heard you wished to speak with me, miss Katie. Is everything alright?"

Rigor continued following behind the retriever contemplating her words as if there was supposed to be some hidden message behind them. She had not realized that she had once again lost her grip on time so severely. Maybe it's why she didn't realize that the retriever had really not seen her in weeks. She shrugged it off, still thinking as she followed.

"yes thets exactly what i'm saying. at the moment he and matt are both cowering in some deep crevic within our mind, trying to comprehend that a complete stranger and maxs sister could by now be on their way to the morgue." bizneg smiled calmly while looking at the nurse. "i do wish i had my own body though....max's is alright but to be honest....my true ody is that of a dragon, while matt is a human...only max is a lace monitor."
-
(a bit awkward doing an enterence post like this...tell me if i'm good.)
When the doors to the asylum opened, anyone nearby would hear a sweet, young sounding voice asking questions that received no answer.
"pardon me, but why am I here, mister?"
"mister, hello? Please tell me what this place is!"
the voice belonged to a young squirrel going by the name of Ashton. He looked around curiously, seemingly unaware of the straight jacket and chains that bound him. At first look he would seem like a normal boy. However, just like everyone else here, he was unique. The tall guards accompanying him did not bother to answer his continuous questions. He smiled and nodded at the people, both patients and doctors, saying hello to them as they passed. He was moved to the apropriate cell, injected with his medication, and left alone inside. He was being monitered, of coruse, but he appeared to be doing nothing of interes at the time.
-
Bizneg's claims were slightly fascinating to the fresh neko nurse, who had had no experience with patients yet, and she jotted down all she could. Part of her was tempted to do the honorable thing and revive Max's original personality, or at least try to, but the majority of her had little interest in that. He could stay as he was. "I am curious as to...how you could maintain different forms for different personalities. Surely lots of mental fabrication is occuring."
***
Nadia smiled at Rigor yet again....almost creepy how she would not stop with the smiling, the flashing of white teeth...and then led her to the lobby, taking special care to avoid Katie. "Now you just stay here for a small while, and I'll go get us ready for this. Others might be coming too." Nadia turned and left, leaving a desperate Sasha who backed off of Katie for relief and gratefully came to Rigor's side, not exactly expecting better luck ...
"Hello there Rigor," the lemur said shakily.
Meanwhile the elderly nurse took the suggestion she was given and went solemnly to release poor Akrill.
***
"Yes, that is Rigor." Scott glanced around the room for a hint to the answer of his next question..."So- did you keep a set of street clothes when you came here? Not many want to be seen wandering around in a pair of hospital scrubs."
***
Katie turned her attention from the roof to Nero, something brilliant like fascination or wonder flashing in her eyes, some color like blue flashing with it. "Of course. You would have me. Speak about it. In the open. I'll not fall for this trick to defame..." In an extremely bold move she put her hand on his shoulder and pushed it back, leaning in to hiss clearly: "I am not the one you know. Why haven't you saw that? Even I alone in this body could pick out the truth, did you not think I would have let them bring me here if I didn't want to get to you? No. Never...Why. Why didn't you see me. Why didn't you kill me the moment I was drug through the door? When I had the mindset of the pitiful girl. Now. Now is too late. My real self is bared and I may be killed no longer." She dropped her hand and stepped back. She reassumed a normal tone of voice. "Perfect order doesn't live just to live. Tell me why you haven't bothered to kill me. Do you like Katie? Do you like her enough to try and win her? I would suggest. Garnering a new attitude."
-
"Unless you ********'s washed them, we have NOTHING! And even so, we WOULD NEVER TOUCH THOSE THINGS AGAIN!" Again Dicam tried to yell and scream at Scott, but was restricted to Macid's mind. Macid winced slightly at his sudden screaming. "Uhm, I don't... think that I want to... wear my old clothes again... ever... if that's allright." Macid was still fiddling with the ring during all of this, thinking about why he was given it. He didn't want to ask, for he feared Scott might want it back. He just couldn't handle that sort of let down. "Are... there any spare... clothes I can use?"
-
All of a sudden, a rather loud shout came from Ashton's cell. It was different from the voice of the boy that had just been escorted in there. Deeper, and much more angry.
"HEY! HEY WHAT THE HELL?" shouted ashton. At this moment, however, his other personality, roberto, was in control. "WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING IN HERE??? YOU STUPID--- THIS IS ALL TORI'S FAULT!" he screamed. "GIVE THAT LITTLE PUNK-A** BRAT A CHANCE, HE SAID! WELL NOW I'' HERE! LEMME OUT!" he screeched, as a doctor and a guard rushed in to sedate him.
-
"Alright." Rigor said, finding herself jumping into her more cooperative behavior, if it could be called that. Her false charm often would get her far unless she was with a nurse who knew better to fall into her honey pot. It wasn't long until the lemur came to her side, greeting her. "Aw, Katie got poor lemur-girl down?" Rigor asked melodramatically. It was hard for her to keep from being melodramatic as her mood lightened somewhat with the promise of going outside. She often exaggerated her expressions to the point of sarcasm from lack of experiencing the true emotion itself. She threw an arm around the lemur, drawing her in close. "If you ask me, I think Katie needs a day job," she whispered, her eyes growing wide as if she were telling a secret to Sasha.
-
Scott nodded. "Of course." He went and calmly opened the door, not fearing so much as a bolt from Macid. "We have a general collection on hand, follow me-"
***
"What do you mean a day job? I didn't know she worked at night..." Sasha came off as dim-witted sometimes, even though she had to have been somewhat book smart to get as far as she did in school.....she was really uncomfortable being touched however, and her fur turned the color of white pearl, her stripes fading to light grey.
-
Cautiously, Macid got up and followed Scott out the door. He was smiling slighty at being trusted so much by a doctor. Normally they were all put off by Dicam's insults and rude comments towards them, but Scott was different. His smile turned into a sadder smile as he thought of what happens if the patients go against head doctor orders. "Hey Scott? Are you sure I'm allowed go outside? I don't wanna get in trouble again."
-
Nero's face barely changed, only his eyes half closing indicated his sudden change in mood and temper. Sitting down beside Katie he began to move his lips as in a whisper, but this was simply a farce for the others to believe. His voice echoed from within his mind and into Katie's. Katie hissed and pulled her hand away. "One of you stole my sword you stole it you---"she took a thick breath, realizing that such a thing was irrational. "I do not have permission to take hold of my sword." This was finally admitted after a long pause of shame...life in the body in the asylum had even turned her slightly insane, no longer entirely coherent. Now it was her turn to reach into his mind, and she did not hesitate in the slightest. A cold chill came over the room, touching all of them, Rigor and Sasha included, and the temperature dropped about forty degrees in five seconds. But, Nero, can you not believe me when I say I would relish the day your head drops to the floor? Perfect order is perfect blood not the foolish carnage you promote. As much as you screamed, your death would be as quick and beautiful no matter which way I chose to execute it. Perfect order is perfect birth...I knew from childhood exactly who I was. I am no possession. I am a birth...............Katie. There is the most vacant part of me, that, indeed, likes to be around you but I know her not. The union would be witchery on all names.
-
Nero smiled a toothy grin. To the rest of the room it appeared to be a happy smile, but Katie could see the rows and rows of razor-sharp needles that were really there. They twisted and curled in his mouth in an eeriely humorous way, almost like a deranged clown. He could smell the taint of Chaos in her mind. No one could spend so much time here, around him, without a shred of it getting in. Unfortunately, the reverse was true for him. In his attempts to maintain secrecy, he has had to commit a cardinal sin against himself and try to maintain Order in the Asylum. "mental fabrication? you don't see what we see, hear what we hear. if not for their restraint and max's sister i could have broken out long ago, and so could the others if they really wanted to. but max likes the quiet and matt has found a place to relax, and i stay because i can't live with them in a bad mood. well it looks like my time is at an end, fell privliged, your the first one i've spoken to that hasn't ended up in the infermery after he first visit." he closed his eyes for a second and as they opened the last of the red drained from them, leaving them baby blue. "where am i? whats going on? wheres my spider?" he looked around and saw tilk crawl onto the desk the over to him, the lrge st andrews cross looking up at him from the edge of the desk. "there you are. you had me worried." <you seem to be taking this well.> "what well?" he looked up and noticed the nurse and froze up nurvously.
-
Rigor giggled at the lemur's comment, taking her hand away and looking around as the temperature dropped around them. "Ooo, someone's not happy." She almost sounded like a school child tattling on someone. It wasn't much longer until the temperature rose again. "I guess the doc took care of that. Isn't that what they're there for? To make us happy. It's not like we're going to leave here, so they have to do something to pacify us." She scratched her chin, thinking aloud. "Even me, they tell me I'm going to be in training for something so that I'll jump through hoops for them as they hide behind the promise of happiness and being well. There is no cure for us."

Akrill continued his exercises until the nurse opened his door, which he quickly dismounted once again and unsheathed his lightning rod so he wouldn't electrocute the nurse that he was now hugging. He whispered his thanks and then walked through the hall, repeatedly sliding his unnatural protrusion in and out of his arm as a warm-up in case he had to temporarily put down a patient. He came to her room, where he could feel sudden cold before the warmth returned. He waited outside the room, as he remembered getting singed after opening a door without him knowing.

Crocodile awoke in a cold sweat, bolting up from his bed. That thing had lost, but it had still scared him half to hell. He looked around. No one? 'That's... Conveniently suspicious. Things haven't been going my way for... Quite some time now.' The young fox thought as he got out of bed. He rubbed the marred side of his face. He stumbled slightly as he left the room, and followed Nero's dark, sickening mental scent to the lobby, and stayed out of sight. In the back of his head, he heard a voice. Somewhat like Nero's other side, but it was Crocodile's, but... Darker. 'It would seem things aren't going too well... Perhaps I may be of service, original?' He shook his head, still watching Nero. 'Just try not to talk to me during a crucial moment. I need to talk to Nero. Alone.' 'Well, technically, you would be... Hm. Perhaps it is best if I do take your advice. You are, after all, the first, and therefore the better of the two.' He grimaced. 'Just keep quiet. I'll let you know when to speak.' He felt an icy hand touch his shoulder. He looked... It was a dark claw. 'That's not funny.' 'Just showing my prescence... My bad.' The hand slipped away. He figured Nero would notice him sooner or later, but he kept quiet and listened. Something about a stolen sword? 'We should've gotten here earlier, to know exactly what was going on.' 'Will you shut the hell up?!' He screamed in his thoughts.
'My bad.'

ricca tossed and turned in her bed, the toxins were now being flushed out of her system but she was still not entirly stable. for a moment she tought she could hear three voices, they called each other max, matt and bizneg. she wondered if what she was hearing in her mind was posible? was she really hearing her brothers consiousnes?

Katie laughed breezily aloud as though she had just been paid a compliment, and put a hand to her heart. "You flatter me, Nero. Truly--- But I am no prostitute. And I do not change, for I would not be of Order otherwise. I am a constant, a fairie with wings of blue. Being merely a possession, you have no place killing me...but being what you are you'd do it anyway. How unfortunate for you then that my vessel is not equipped to die. I am speaking to you now to tell you that I am here, and I will continue to be here. My vessel is her own slave, for I AM her. I was born as her the same time she was born from her mother. It's just her personality that takes awhile to return to default. Katie looked around breifly with a smug look. I'd like to see you tell all these other patients with multiple personalities that mine is special. They'd think you were...picking favorites." She looked around again. Her eyes lingered where Crocodile and the trainee were hiding, knowing that they were there. "I'll be right here. And during everything you do, and everywhere you go, during every little speech you make, you'll wonder if I'm behind you, ready to take the assassination into my own hands....Oh and don't think we aren't willing to....recruit....our own followers ourselves." She smiled a wicked smile, but it was not toothy like his. Rather, it was sickeningly beautiful, as though she were looking at something lovely or posing for a picture. Her voice, silken as a seductress, yet sounding as though she were underwater with the curves and depth, came across to him as clearly fae and continued to echo in Nero's head as her eyes changed, back to their usual soft chocolate brown. The real her was gone.

"I'm positive. I'm actually under orders to get you guys some more fun time. We realize staying here gets exceedingly boring." With a nod back at Macid, "Ah yes, and about those clothes, I'd go check with the nurses in the triage office. Take your time, I think Rigor is still waiting herself."

Sasha's fur turned to blue with the cold, now to pink. She felt like the horse of a different color from Oz and her fur grew redder the more she thought about how embarassed she was. Briefly she worried about poor Entaru but just a briefly turned back to Rigor. "Heard you're going out today." She actually never heard anything like that, she just surmised it.

The nurse did not so much as pay Max a second glance. "No need to be nervous. You just had a slip in personality for a bit." She looked over her shoulder at the door as though something had changed without her knowledge. "What is it that you'd like to do to today?" she said with a click of her pen, turning back to him.
-
"Yeah. I heard that, too." Rigor seemed to be skeptical again. "We hear a lot of things around here." The dragon chameleon tapped her chin absently, then fiddled with her plastic pumpkin mask for a moment, taking it off, then smiling at it. "Like I said, we get the promise of several things if we can learn to behave by their rules. I don't particularly like their rules, but if I can be 'rehabilitated', dance like their little puppet for a while until I can draw out their smiles..." Rigor's face shifted to a mischievous expression, tinged with a slight hint of anger. "Well... They'll let me go, then won't they?" Her grin grew wider as she looked the lemur over.

Ashton was now back to his normal personality. He was in a corner of his cell, sniffling and whimpering.
"p-please...i want to be let out" he muttered.
He was genuinely scared of this mysterious place...

Macid watched as Scott walked into the triage for new clothes. He saw that Rigor and Sasha talking near the reception desk. Figuing he'd get in trouble if he was standing alone, he slowly walked over towards them."He-hello. How are you two today?" His hands kept playing with the ring since he left the room with scott.
-
"go on, talk to her." "h..hi, i..i'm m...matt......" he finaly got out ridgedly extending a hesitant hand for the nurse to shake. tilk crawled up onto matt shoulder and calmly sat down, she started 'kniting' with her natural silk, a sight matt was used to but not many had ever seen bafore. "and this....this is tilk...." matt quickly stumbled out raising a hand to his shoulder to show off his friend, the oversized st andrews cross was about the size of a saucer and noticably stoped its work and seemed to bow when matt introduced her bafore continuing her work.

Nero smirked and pat Katie on the head, knowing that she was gone. Turning away he walked over to Sasha and Rigor, a pleasant smile on his face. "Hello ladies...prepared for today's outing?" He was intentionally ignoring Crocodile, knowing that he wished to talk. He would let him dangle on his string a bit longer before ripping him from it.

Entaru, drugged and catatonic, is escorted by a pair of nurses into the common room and set in a chair. Looking around, all he can see are swirling colors and twisting shapes. Every word spoken sounds like its coming from outside a miles away.
