What are opinions on these computers? Mind you I am not a gamer, and I don't need some over the top WICKED expensive laptop. Just compared Dell and Vaio together and found Vaio gave me TONS more for like $150 less, and I could customize it better. Thing is I know no one who has one of these computers. I went to Best Buy with my boyfriend this weekend to look at some but we couldn't find anyone to help us for the 30 min we stood there looking. So asking you guys, what's your opinion?

To me, just about anything beats dell :P. I would say go for Sony Vaio, though I was always under the impression Sony was rather expensive.

Yeah, dell jumped way out of my price range for what little I could get. The Vaio one includes MS office and I can get it in purple! It also had larger storage, and faster memory included in the base price.

Personally, I like Dell machines. Had to rebuild a few thanks to me messing around, but i think they're good, and rebuilding is a whole heap easier for a Dell than for other machines i've tried.
Just depends what you're after really. Unless you're after something super high-end or super specialised, then i wouldn't have thought there's all that much difference between the different brands.
In short, find the best deal you can which gives you the most for your money, and get that.

Right now that's a Vaio laptop, I do like dell but the price is making me go WTF?! Besides I can find Vaio laptops in stores, so I can go up and like touch them and bother people and ask a million questions :3

go for it n.n

If you had the time and the gas money and had gone to the Augusta Best Buy, Shinzuu would have been over to help you in a heartbeat. Things aren't rushed at the Augusta one since they don't get a crapload of customers all the time, so they can actually give you the time of a day and spend the time needed to help you instead of only two minutes per customer or whatever.

Yeah we were at the Lebanon NH one, craptacular service. Though the cell phone people there tried to help me with my charging issue.

I'm not a fan of Dell at all so just take my advice and stay away from them.. :P
But from personal experience, I can't recommend either:
I've had a 16,4" Vaio laptop for bout 2 years and it was pretty expencive when we got it, the specs would be 4 GB of DDR2 RAM and a Intel Core 2 Duo CPU @ 2.27 GHz... And it runs damned slow for the price we paid, battery barely lasts 2 hours when idling with the power saving scheme in Windows 7! It also weighs a ton to carry..
I'd rather suggest you to go with HP, Packard Bell or Asus.. My brother got himself a 30% cheaper Packard Bell which completely outperforms it in seemingly every way..
Another example would be the uber small Vaio my mom got a while ago... a week later we found a HP with the same specs and size.. only real difference would be the price which was half of what the Vaio had costed.
