Why does she have to go to the casino with you? Cant she go have fun with her friends and let you have fun with your parents? If she's old enough where she could go to a casino, shes old enough where she can hang out with her friends on new years, I say.

I feel for ya.  I have a sister not unlike the one you just described, and so many things I wanted to do have been canceled because of her >.<  I always remind myself that in only a couple years, I'll be freed from her!  It's probably the same for you.  What I have to do is convince my parents to not cancel it, or wait until my sister gets me so aggravated I shout at her. (extremely rare)  How Old is your sister?  That is probably a factor.

Might just be my upbringing but I think 15 year-olds still need to learn that not everything can be perfect and a bunch of fun.

Don't mean to talk badly about Icy's sister of course, but that's my opinion.

On the bright side, it's only one day and I'll come again next year?

Uh, I'm 15?
Icy, your sister is probably in a stage where she believes that she ought to be the center of attention and cannot bear to do anything boring.  Best thing to do, is to convince your parents to ignore her pleas when you schedule stuff like your party, and then everything should go along better.  Try that and see what happens.

Zombie that is my point exactly. Life is not just fun and games and often, one has to attend boring family parties and gatherings. As long as the family itself is somewhat "normal" (meaning there's no abuse/violence, big arguments and so on), one has to live with it.

Try that, and if that doesn't work, you can make your plans in secret.  They can't complain about stuff they don't know anything of.
