Title: Anybody try Telekinesis?
Post by: Rygore Anikeria on December 01, 2010, 09:32:04 PM
I've heard about it, seen videos, but I'm not sure, if any one has had success in the matter, a description would be great.

My mother used to work with silvia brown, so all occult tings are pretty well-known to my family. All the 'telekinetics' they interviewed, etc, where a load of bull.

Agreed!
And you have been warned... :o Be careful drakey....

Anyhow...

Telekinesis, and all other bits of belief... Well, if you believe them, thats you, but in my personal experience it aint real.

And as the original poster seems to be ignoring this... The conversation may probably be considered over.

Photoshopped pictures aside, I personally think that telekinesis actually doesn't work.

I have tried, but I can never get it too work, im not even sure if its real... Ive seen videos on youtube but it seems so easy to fake.  :S No matter how long i stare at the fork it never moves XD

I'm quite an open minded person, I think anything possible..
I mean, we only use half of our brains, the possibilities are endless once we tap into the other side..
I think its going to take a lot more than staring at a fork or trying to hit Bush! Lol...
Maybe evolution will unlock the key..
However, knowing the world we live in, those people with those 'powers' will be locked up or killed through fear "/

Hm, well, my opinion depends on what kind of kinetic powers you speak of. If you mean those frauds that go around making shows and stuff, then yeah I am most certain it's all staged, nothing real. Now, the possibility that such abilities are contained in our minds is something I don't rule out, in part because I like to believe in that sort of fantastic thing. Maybe someday, with the aid of technology we can achieve something that resembles what we see today as mere fantasy. The bad side is, people would probably use it for selfish purpoes. :/

Every new development or invention is used for selfish things!! Phones are used for prank calls, the net is used for unspeakable illegal things, facebook is used to threaten, stalk and scare people, planes are used for terrorism, and whoever invented bombs was an idiot.. Its the way of the world! Hopefully by the time we get such new advances, the world will have grown up and stopped being so negatively selfish! I think that's called wishful thinking thought "/

Nobel invented modern explosives(Yes, NOBEL PEACE PRIZE, Nobel). Hypocrite.

And telekinesis... Hell, modern science has proven that each individual is made up of two persons (The left and Right hemispheres act seperately, essentially being a differen personality, your dominant half makes the decisions, and is 'you', whilst the submissive hemisphere is a 'non-you', essentially. It generally reacts by orders given via links to the dominant hemisphere) This leads us to believe that the human mind is much more capable than previously thought. Telekinesis? Unlikely. More power over the self? Quite possibly.

Oh! And that thing about only using 5% of the human brain... Its a farce. The actual statistic is the human brain using roughly 3-6% for memory, and memory only.

Can you bend a spoon into strange twisty shapes like http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/c/cd/RandiFork.jpg/220px-RandiFork.jpg ? That apparently is a for of being a psychic :P

.thinks about rant he made earlier... so counts*

I do believe anything is possible, I mean gravity, explain gravity, I mean actually explain what gravity is, how its caused and everything. So insted of just shooting down ideas, simply state your oppsite side. I mean, you could say it is impossible for a person to glow, but that's incorrect, and I'm not talking about using paint or eating some kind of special thing either. You could tell me that it is impossible for someone to shoot fire from there hands, but yet again, that is in correct, it is more then possible, not saying its easy, but it is possible. The only thing that is impossible, is the possibility, of nothing being possible.

Interesting philosophy, there, and true nontheless.

In that respect, we should judge things by likelyhood, too which telekenisis (the subject of the thread) seems very distant.

Yes, it seems quite unrealistic, but to that isn't everything? I was just saying don't shoot everything down, anything is possible, just be open minded, an ex. For the lolz

Joe man: Hey has any one ever tried to fly useing there mind
Bob guy: Fail! That is impossible
X amount of years later
*bob guys walks down the street loks up and sees ppl flying droping bombs*
Joe man: IORNY! Lol *joe drops bomb*

I pointed my hand at a pair of pants hanging off the end of a chair concentrating on it trying to make it come to me just to test some telekinesis... the pant leg started swinging.

That my friend is called coincidence, to many factors, no single variable
Title: Re: Anybody try Telekinesis?
Post by: ZombiezuRFER on December 17, 2010, 03:05:44 PM
no pant leg just goes from dead still to moving an inch back and forth in still air on its own.

Yea, not alone, but there are to many factors, gravity, wind, ect

You must be able to repeat it :P

*Moves zombiez pants' legs with mind*
Or possibly a window opened.
Title: Re: Anybody try Telekinesis?
Post by: ZombiezuRFER on December 17, 2010, 08:59:00 PM
We never open up the windows here... my door was closed, every fan is off, the heating was off, just nothing there that would make such a thing JUST happen like that.  Admittedly, some people tried experimenting with extreme electromagnetic fields, and stuff that wasnt even magnetic would fly around, but only as long as a creature with a brain was inside.

Open window wouldn't make any difference,  other then "wind", which I said!  :/

Actually, the pressure diferential when you open a window can create currents (not wind) which can move things like a pant leg.

It's the same thing -_-

'wind' is caused by uneven heating of the earth.
Oh well, I suppose in this case its all just semantics .-.

Well cool air from the house is let out while hot air is bright into the house, or reversed

I have tried my hand a spoon bending, but I use the James Randi method.
As far as telekenisis and related things like psychics and what not I am a skeptic.

And nothing in the house was Opened!!! I am of course a bit skeptical, but there was nothing to just make the pant leg just move on its own like that!  I am totally confounded unless it is the electromagnetic field I talked about, cause I KNOW we have one over here!
