Okay, 74GB Hard drive.... Only 18GB free, and I swear I have no idea where most that Hard drive space is goin' :/
I've only got one game actually installed to the hard drive, and thats only a few Gigabytes... Plus all my music/pics/documents etc doesnt take up all that space...
So yeah, I'm having my step-bro check it out seeing as he ace with computers, but if anyone has any help on making space on my hard drive it would be much appreciated ^_^
Also, I cant seem to find where my system restore points are kept... And windows is telling me that up to 15% of my hard drive space can be taken up by system restore points... So I have a feeling that may be at least part of the problem. And yes, before anyone asks, a run the annoyance of all annoyances, Vista...
Thank you in advance for any help... *Kitt ish rubbish with his tech* :S

You could try using WinDirStat: http://windirstat.info/
It lays out all the stuff you have in your hard drive so you can see how much space each thing takes up.

If you use BBC iPlayer that may be the cause. I found it rarely cleans up after itself and can use several GB very easily.

did you check your temporary folder? that might be eating up some space.

Thanks Zeph, that program looks real usefull :P
And yes, I've wiped temporary files. And I dont use Iplayer all that often, so I wouldnt have thought it would be much of a problem :?
Well yeah, thanks for the speedy replies guys :)

Yeah, the windows installation takes up a few GB's of space, round 10--15GB on first boot after installation I believe...
If you got a lot of programs and things installed, that may also be a cause, for example, I have almost 25GB of used space for just programs...
However, try the WinDirStat tool that Zeph suggested, I can confirm that it's pretty helpful, prehaps you could put up a few screenshots from it if your still a bit confused or something :P

Yeah, the windows installation takes up a few GB's of memory, round 10--15GB
Memory != Disk space

If you run VM's, or used to, the hard drive file things could be using up some space.
Like, if you uninstalled the vm software but not the OS installation and forgot about it.
