Melanie crouched in the darkness of the alleyway, toying with her knife nervously in her jacket pocket as she looked out at the deserted street. The skeletons of burnt out cars rested still on the kerb but the sight did nothing to unease her. Once she was sure that there were no humans out in the street, she darted out of the alley and ducked behind a torched bus, staring at the food shop across the road. She desperately hoped that there was some remaining food and water in the store as they were running low at their base and trips to the river outside of the city were dangerous as the humans had a camp on the other side.
She looked up and down the darkening street, checking again before dashing across the road; once she reached the store she pressed her back flat against the wall and pulled out her shotgun out of her jeans pocket, her finger on the trigger as she peered cautiously through the smashed window. She couldn’t be too careful as there might be humans still residing in the city.
Keeping this in mind, Melanie jumped through the broken window, her boots crunching on the glass as she landed cat like on the floor. She quickly strighted up and looked around. The store was empty, no sign of life except for a fly that buzzed around her head which she swatted at annoyed. Before she went any further she sniffed the air and wrinkled her nose in disgust, it smelled of decay like someone had died.
The anthro girl then walked swiftly down the aisles, coming across a few hastily scattered cans of tinned food; which she quickly shoved into her bag and slung it over her back. She continued to search but found nothing more. She sighed as she checked the last of the empty freezers but just as she was about to turn around and leave, she spotted a blood stained cutain beside the last freezer. She approached it slowly and cautiosluy, holding the gun in front of her and reached out with her other hand and swept the curtain aside. Behind it was a large, heavy looking silver door. The store room. She sniffed the air again, hoping to pick up the smell of food and immeadiatly felt like she was going to be sick. The decay smell was worse. She breathed in through her mouth and focused on the fact that there was indeed food behind that door. But as she stepped forward she almost fell over something, she looked down in horror, her heart thudding painfully in her chest as she stared at the dead anthro fox.
“B-Brandon!” Melanie gasped, he had gone missing a couple of weeks ago as he went searching for food.
She then froze in place as she heard a gun being cocked behind her.
“Put your gun on the groud.” A rough voice said. “And turn around to face me. I want to see the light leave your eyes when I kill you halfbreed.”
She knealt down placing her gun by her feet and straighted back up, raising her paw like hands in the air, showing that she was no longer armed and slowly turned to face the man. What am I going to do now? I cant reach for my knife, not like that would be any use anyway. I wish I had brought someone along. My only hope is that someone has followed me.
The bearded man was tall and balding and surprise flashed across his eyes as she faced him.
“Hmm” He said. “What type of halfbreed are you?” I heavent seen one like you before.”
She didn’t reply and he shrugged, lifting the rifle and pointed it at her chest and she closed her eyes, pressing her ears to her skull as she waited for the shot.

Siyan walked down a deserter road, he looked into a smashed mirror at him self, "Well even if you are older then the dirt on your cloths, you still are one handsome devil" he laughed, he couldn't think what he looked like, she had a small gray tint, his wings where hidden and had pointed ears, he didn't look like he did when his kind roamed free, but even if he did no one would recognize him. He walked down some more and smelt decay, 'i hate picking from the dead, but you do have you have to' he told him self. When he opened the door he saw a human, "oh this is to grand," he nearly laughed when he said this, theman turned around. "Now what the hell", he lifted his rifle and pointed it st siyan. He began to twirl around his cane, "The night phantom, the one that wonders the streets, the one that makes you cry in your sleep, the one that follows the nights wind, the one with the devilsh grin, said to kill you and eat your soul, the night phantom" the man's face was filled with sweet, "the last thing you see, is his spinning cane, the night phantom, to fast to shoot, to fast to run, so start praying son, the night phantom is here and can't be killed by a gun" the man started to fire, as his face lit with panic. Siyan just laughed harder, as the bullets drooped to the ground, "I just love that song" he said as he took the man in his hands in less then a second, his face was serious and stern, he stabbed the man and then bit his neck. The mans body fell life less, as siyan wiped his face clean, he was licking his fingers when he saw a girl, "another one, two meals in one night"

Rose and her team were sweeping the streets, making sure all of the humans were out of the area and killing any furs that were in hidding. Those who freely gave them self up were quickly lined up and shot in the head, and those who were in hidding were burned alive for wasting her time. She radioed in to her team " this is alpha team area is clear, T-minus 30mins for Firestome Zulu all teams must clear of this area now, is that clear delta and bravo" bravo team respawned but there was know word from delta "Delta team do you copy" still nothing "bravo team, continue evacuation plans am going to check on delta team" she made her way to were delta team was last seen, the smell of death from both humans and furs were in the air, she loved it, nothing like the smell of death on the battlefiled.

"are we there yet?""please tell us that we're there!" "what are you two complaining about? I'm doing all the walking." serpington said carring the two little girls on his back under his coat. sand stretched as far as the three could see other than a city far in the distance. "but we're tired." he looked at the little girl on his left shoulder with a blank stare. "fine we'll make camp in a little bit, OK?" both girls nodded quietly.

Arilys let out a low sigh as he finally reached a city, the first one he had seen in a few days. But just like the one he had come from, this new city looked like a battlefield: windows of shops were broken, buildings had their doors shut tight or hanging from their hinges - they had probably been blown open - and those buildings' higher windows were blocked shut with thick wooden bars.
The small hybrid's ears flicked lightly on his head when he heard footsteps, so he quickly slipped into a first floor of the closest building. Thank God he had the ability to fly for a while. He peered through the window and gulped softly when he saw a human talking into a radio. When she started walking away, the Mewgia got out of his hiding place and floated up to the roof of the building. He was panting lightly when he got there. He cursed his short amount of stamina then quickly tried to locate the human before walking along the rooftops, jumping onto the closer ones and floating onto the ones that were further away.
It didn't take a long time for the human to lead him to a dark street. He looked at the shop on the building in front of the one he was on. He wasn't sure if there was anyone there and he didn't want to fly to the shop's building and running the risk of being spotted by the female he had been following. Instead, he crouched behind a small wall and patiently waited to see what would happen and wondering if there was any fur there, about to get in trouble. If that was the case, as soon as he or she appeared he would go and help them.
-
standing on the side of the building leaning against the wall, her Kriss ready in her hand as she stayed near the doorway of the building "delta are you there" she said with a whisper "answer me soldier, that's an order" something wasn't right here she could feel it in her bones, she checked her watch "only 15 more mins before bombing squad arrives, got to do this fast" she said as she dashed inside
-
Ivan sat atop a 7 story building looking down. He wasn't really looking down though. His mind was inside another's head. He had been watching her for several days now. She could be quite charismatic, if a bit unstable. The woman he was talking about was a human. Some sort of anthro hunter from the looks of it, and while he preferred stay out of this war he was curious. Right now she was about 3 miles away looking for another team of humans it seemed. She was about to move out of distance so he came back to his sense, grabbed his stuff and headed downstairs, checking he foresight before turning each corner of course. He didn't need to get shot again. That hurt... a lot. His motorcycle and sax were tucked away right were he had hidden them. He put the sax on his back, secured his gun, fired up the engine and took off down the street.

"are you two ready to go?" serpington asked the two girls playing in the sand nearby. "yes sir, but why do we have to go to this city its so far away" "it's only about another three hours till we get there so we should be there by dark, and we have to go there to avoid the humans" "why don't you like the humans?" "its not that i don't like them, its that they don't like us little one. they started this war to cover up what they think was there mistake, they think that we are inferior to them when they are our equals. the humans are breed to wage war, but we are different." he walked over to the girls and knelt down to let them climb on. they quickly crawled under his cloak. "OK Genvieve's, any one nearby?" "no, no one i can see." the little cat said smiling, her brown fur rubbing against serpington's scaled skin. "lets get going then. I'm getting bored again. smiled the second girl, her reddish brown fox face next to Genvieve's. "OK Nicki, I'm going." he said to the little fox as he began to walk out off the little cave they were in and continuing towards the city.

Melanie kept her paws in the air staring at the newcomer. "Look I don't mean any trouble." She hissed. "Now back off!"
-
Halfeb placed the barrel of his gun at the back of Roses head. He had been intercepting messages from her command for a while and knew she was coming. "Evening." He said, as a cocky greeting."Twitch and your brains will cover the front wall." He said as he took her knife and weaponry. "Delta team are alreayd dead. As for you bomber, there are four of your best fighter jets on thier way to intercept. I suggest your command be a little more careful when they send messages in the future. Not that you'll be around to tell them that." He told her.
-
He held the blade end up to the girls neck, and put his fingers to his lips to tell her to be quite, and picked up the rifle the man had. He got behind the girl and aimed the rifle at the door, "such a shame such a fine solider, killed in the heat of battle" he said with a smile on his face. He noticed some one else had came, he didn't like when people interupted his fun, he shot his foot, stoopping it, making it lose its speed, and giving him the ability to move at blazing speed. He went behind the man threw him on his back, putting the blade to his throat, and the gun the girls head, "I hate when you fools interupt a simple meal"
-
her hands were raised high into the air and around her fingers were the rings from the flash bangs she pulled "boom" she said as they hit the ground with a blinding light and deafening sound. This is just what she needed as she picked up her gun and knife "isn't this just lovely, you killed good men, am going to enjoy skinning you all alive"
-
He knew enough about flash bangs to at least cover his eyes when one is pulled. He looked at her, he couldn't hear what she said, but, he didn't think it was anything nice. He pulled his metal staff off his back. "Your men were weak. Hopefull, you may put up more of a challenge." He said as he circled her.
-
she spray her kriss at them both while there eyes were covered, she stop and checked her watch "the b-2 spirit will be here in 10" she smiled "if only i had more time to play with you all, but i must make my exit " she said as she pulled the pins of two frags and throwing them, one rolling at the other two furs and the other at a near by wall.
-
Halfeb hit the one that came at them like a baseball out the window. Then he dived behind a wall from the other, not the one it was up against, but, the far wall from it. and curled up small.

Ivan had pulled over at a gas station. He had picked the brains of the soldier and found out that there was going to be a bombing in the direction he was headed and decided that it would be best to stay away for the time being. Besides, his bike needed gas. A little clever manipulation from inside the shop go him all the gas he need. For now he decided he'd take a look through her eyes. Apparently she had been in an ambush and managed to escape, though the frag grenade probably wasn't the best idea. It seemed, he thought, that the anthros, if able to open their eyes in time, would be able to dodge the majority of the blast. Perhaps a bit of shrapnel to the leg at worst. Then again it would definitely buy her time to escape, so clever girl, he smirked.
He was about to take a peek into the heads of the anthros when he suddenly picked up on another psychic in the city. While not to worried about the things in the city earlier, human and anthro alike, another psychic could prove to be a threat. Confident in his abilities as a telepath, he set to work looking into the head of this new psychic. He found it extremely easy. Not much more in the way of mental defenses. Telepathy was definitely not this psychic's strong suit. In fact, Ivan suspected that there was very little telepathic power, if any, in this one at all. Either way, not much to worry about as long as he kept his distance.
Having grown bored picking people's heads he grabbed a soda from the fridge, which was still running- God bless nuclear power plants he thought, took his sax up to the roof and played a bit of improv. Not too shabby. In the back of his mind he kept a mind's eye on the soldier woman and the other psychic.
-
Arilys climbed up onto the small wall he was using as a hiding spot, figuring that he would be relatively safe by now since the human had entered the other building. After a while, he gave a startled jump and looked around with his ears perked into the air. He had felt something, like another psychic spying on him. He immediately put up a barrier, realizing how careless he had been. The barrier wasn't that strong though, he decided to just keep some of his thoughts to himself then carefully tried to figure out if the other psychic was a human or an anthro. If it happened to be an anthro, maybe he could avoid a fight.
The Mewgia tilted his head a bit to one side when he saw something small flying out of the shop's window and the female human running away rather fast. He then let out a yelp when the grenade exploded; thankfully, the distance between himself and the floor was more than enough for him to not be injured. After a few seconds he floated down to the other building and peeked through the smashed window and into the now destroyed meat shop.
"H-helloooo...?" he called out, his ears moving a little on his head as he tried to listen to any sound that would reveal if someone was still alive or not.
-
Siayn came from the destroyed building, with no damage done to himself, but his clothes where a little torn, he held the service rifle at the new person, holding the girl who was inside who he saved in the other hand with his cane, "I'm growing tired of all these inconveniences"
-
Ivan felt the other psychic try to pry his own mind back. The attempt was weak. Nothing more than a gnat really. Unfortunately, he thought as he put his sax away, that meant the little gnat could probably throw a small car him. He would have to rely on his clairvoyance he got into a fight with him, as his telekinetic powers could lift 20 pounds, 30 max. Whatever. He was confident even if he did meet he would be able to keep things calm. Neutral mindsets had that effect.
Either way, he was tired of being alone. He looked around of a trail of somebody to travel with. A slight presence, 2, possibly three, outside the city. Hard to tell as they were so far off. The others were in range of the upcoming bombing, so they were a no go and the other was the psychic, who that was a no go. The ones outside the city it is. Later. He was tired.
-
she made it to the city limits where bravo team was waiting for her, they cheered her as she made her way up to them."hay commander its about time, you look like you had your butt handed to you, wheres the rookie from delta" they said as they threw her a beer "the fireworks are about to start"
rose took her gas mask off as she grabbed the beer can "he didn't make it, we were ambushed in the city. I might not get to cut there hearts out but this might do, R.I.P Rookie" she said as she waited for the bombers to come
-
After the debrie settled, Halfeb stod up and called on his walkie talkie. "Red team, is the evacuation to the bomb shelters complete?" He asked into the walkie talkie. "Almost sir." The responce came back. "Then get it finished, we don't have much time. Blue team, move in." He said before making hi was out of the building.
Meanwhile, blue team jumped out, surrounding Rose and Bravo team, thier M-16's loaded and ready. "Freeze, human scum!" Thier leader yelled, sounding them before they could react.

Sam sat propped up against a wall in the second story of a shop in the outskirts of the city across from a gas station. Gunfire and explosions boomed off in the distance over the skyline as Sam waited patiently. Smoke billowed off his cigar that the desert fox chewed on as his radio cackled. "Angel 6, we are a-go for the target. Over." Sam didn't move. Instead, he listened. Something was wrong. There were voices down in the street. He quickly got up and pressed himself up against the wall as he held his rifle. He peered out the window into the street below. Nobody was there. He looked through his scope at the gas station and noticed movement in the window. He quickly readjusted his postitioning to a more comfortable firing stance. He looked at the motorcyle outside the station. It didn't look like a military target. Sam wanted to be sure before he took the shot. If he didn't this shoot soon this person could ruin the entire plan. He clicked on his radio. "Hitman 4, this is Angel 6. We have and unidentified target in the blast zone. Over."
Fear filled his head. The gas station was rigged to blow once the human convoy passed by. The convoy was well on it's way over from over the hill. Sam prayed that whoever this person was didn't find the bomb under the counter in the shop. If anything went wrong, Sam would detonate it early. Suddenly, he saw the person climb up to the roof with a sax. "...What the hell is this guy doing!?" He said to himself before the radio buzzed. "Angel 6, it's your call. You have permission to fire if neccessary. Over."
-
Ivan woke up a short time later, sensing something. Nothing that seemed like much of a threat, but there was something across the street. Either way, something didn't seem right. He pried deeper into the creatures mind... desert fox... fear... He couldn't find a name or any other personal info. He must be older and disciplined to have barriers with no psychic ability. Anyway back to prying... explosives... explosives in the gas station... EXPLOSIVES IN THE GAS STATION?! Ivan scrambled to his feet as fast as he could and darted out the door. He was in such a hurry to get out of the gas station he forgot to check to make sure he wouldn't be shot as he exited the gas station. He heard a gun shot, which scared him half to death, but it was off in the distance. After running into the middle of the street on damn near all fours, he collapsed, checked to make sure he wouldn't be shot or run over in his immediate future, and sighed heavily. "Jesus Christ. That was... unpleasant," he laughed to himself. He then turned his head over his shoulder and shouted, "I know you're there! Thanks for not blowing me up, by the way! That would have really stung, I'm sure. I'm not military. I have a pistol; it's hidden under my coat. Other than that, and a knife in my boot, I'm unarmed. Also, I know you're thinking 'What is wrong with this guy? Maybe I should just shoot him?' I don't recommend it. You'll miss and I'll shoot back. Chances are I won't miss. I suggest we have a little chat." According to his clairvoyance the fox wouldn't shoot him, not within the minute he could see. Hopefully he wouldn't fire, period.
-
rose turned slowly to them with a wicked smile on her face "in a few minutes there will be a convoy here to clean sweep the area, and look for anyone who survived the bombs, you should take this time and run, and pray to whatever god you have for a quick death or you can stand here and shoot us, then that big convoy will come shoot you, either way I'll see you in hell" she pointed her gun at them "don't think for a second i would listen to your kind"
-
The leader of blue team nodded, "Sounds like a deal." He said before opening fire, shooting Rose in the shoulder. And the rest of Blue team opening fire. The leader of Blue team came over and knocked out Rose and picked her up, as the others were taking out the rest of Delta team. "Unfortunantly I have orders to take you alive." He said as he disappeared like a blur into the forest.
Halfeb watched the convoy, he then lifted the walkie talkie to his mouth, "N..." He said before He saw the gas station it was passing about to blow. "Belay they bomb, the convoy is taken care of, return to base, we'll keep the road rigged. He then looked up. He could hear the bomber. He then walked inside and down to the basement, where the others were. "They may come and bomb us, but, stone and mortor can be rebuilt. It will be a dark day before before they extinguish the furry nation." He told his men.
-
waking up in a dark room sitting in a chair, her hands were tied behind her back, the bullet didn't tear through her bulletproof vest but it did leave a nasty little sore. the room was dink "please believe me i will kill you all, if am lift to live, its a promise" trying to free her hands "one by one, i will make you watch me murder your families then slowly kill you"
-
The Mewgia let out a low eep and lowered his ears when someone walked up to him then placed a rifle just a few inches away from his muzzle. "H-hey, careful with that..!" he said, floating a few inches to one side before noticing the seemingly knocked out girl. "Is she okay?" he asked, his voice sounding a little more alarmed now. He didn't try to get closer though since the taller human looking fur still had his rifle ready to shoot.
The little fur's ears twitched lightly on his head when he heard the sound of motors a few streets away and he instantly knew that they should hide. He looked into the half-human's eyes and spoke in a careful but sure voice. "We have to hide. I bet that those cars aren't packed with other anthros. I don't know if you're on our side or not, but I don't think you want to have that many humans after you." he finished then glanced towards the place the convoy would appear. They still had a few seconds for the other anthro to decide if he wanted to make some sort of team or if they had to go their separate ways.
-
"I have lived ten of your lives, I'm the reason humans have nightmares, ill be more then fine." Looking back at the girl he sighed, he didn't know why he saved her, he could of eaisly let her die,# but he didn't... why.he looked back at the floating creature, "I'm looking for someone, I think you may be able to help, if you agree, then you will survive this, if not, you'll be on your own, and most likely will die"
((If you read my whole bio, I said he had the ability to look like a human, but right now he is a mixture of the two, and I also said that he is the last bat, they where killed hundreds of years ago, so he dosent look like one and even if he did there wouldn't be a way you could identify him as one))
-
<{ Gah, sorry. I knew he looked half human, half bat, but I forgot the fact that he's the last one x.x Changed my earlier post anyway ;3 }>
"What do you mean..?" Arilys asked with a confused look on his face. Why would the figure in front of him scare the humans so much? He tilted his head a little to one side when the weird looking fur glanced at the girl he was holding and looked somewhat hesitant, or wondering about something. "Um.. sure..." he said when the taller fur if he'd help him or not. The chances of living were always better if they were in a room rather than than completely alone.
"Quick, get in!" he suddenly hissed before pressing his paws against the half-human, pushing him into a darker part of the shop. He then waited for the convoy to pass before looking up at him. "Sorry about that. I just thought that it wouldn't be a good choice to fight them with her knocked out."
-
"I would recommended never to do that again, tell me what can you do? I rather know him much saving ill have to do in the long run"
-
Sam's eyes narrowed. Yeah...I'll miss... The idea of him missing a target like the annoying punk below seemed almost comical. He wouldn't have been surprised if he was old enough to be this guy's dad by the sound of him. He didn't move from his spot in the window. A musical fur who isn't military...hanging out in a war zone. Sam's thought process to find out the correlation between any of this came up blank. He poked his head out from behind the wall and caught a glimpse of the stranger below. Oh my God. He wiped his hand with his face. "Civillians." He said shaking his head. "Come out with your hands above your head!...and maybe I won't blow your ass up where you stand. Numbnuts..." Sam whispered the last part to himself. He was just waiting for the stranger to trip one of the wires that would detonate should the dead man's switch fail. Meanwhile, Sam had displaced. He had made his way away from the window and was now shuffling down the rickety set of stairs that took him into the shop below. He moved behind the counter and aimed his rifle. "Watch the wires while you're out there!" Sam shouted. "If you want to talk, get your ass off that road and get over here!"
-
Arilys lowered his ears a little when the taller fur spoke, then he nodded lightly. "Okay.." he mewed out nervously. He then looked around for a moment before staring at the half human again. "Well, I can fly, as you can see, I can make myself invisible for a while.." he said, suddenly disappearing in front of the other fur and reappearing a few feet away. ".. I can use telekinesis to move heavy objects and I can make a sort of barrier so I won't be physically harmed." with that, he moved one of his paws lightly and soon enough a barely visible bubble appeared around him. "I can make it bigger, so if we're in trouble I can use it to protect us. Or at least myself and her." he explained. He wasn't sure that the half-human would want to be protected from humans.
-
"That's good to know.." Siyan looked at the shouting fur, he was quite agervated by his comment, he handed the girl to the creature, and pushed them into shelter, "I need a quick snack" he said telling him to stay put, he picked up the rifle and began to fire at the other anthro.
-
she was able to slip through the ropes which held her hands tied together "freedom" she said as she moved to the door, and grabbing the guard from behind, then snapping his neck and taking his weapons making sure not to make a sound. she found her equipment in the armory room, well what looked like an armory, it was poorly made with just a few peaces of scrap metal holding it up. checking her stuff and stocking up on more ammo she made her way out of the sewer tunnels and into the streets of the city. "dang back in this hell hole" she said as she started to radio in to the bombing squad to hold off there attack on the city
-
Ivan got up walked directly to where the fox stood, saying dryly in his thick accent, "Get you're eyes checked. I'm human. Also, maybe you won't blow my ass up? What? Not going to wait for the convoy?" Having read his thoughts meant he was unable to check his future, so he just hoped that he wasn't about to get shot as he walked over.
-
Sam rolled his eyes. "So you're what they were tellin' me about back at base." He laughed. "I'm 40 years old, son. My vision isn't as great as it used to be." He didn't lower his rifle. As far as he was concerned, he should be pumping this one with lead as base had instructed him to if he were to come across any human with special abilities. "As far as I'm concerned, you are the convoy." He said. He held his M16 in his left hand while the magazine rested against the counter top to stablize the weapon. With his right hand, he pulled out a cigarette and lit up. He looked up at the newcomer and smiled. "Sgt. Crowe. Spec Ops. What's your business here?"
-
"Ivan, pleasure. Hiding mostly. I was following some soldier lady. She was kind of charismatic, in a totally psychopathic way. I lost track of her during my time in the gas station. I would like to point out that I'm completely neutral, otherwise, as I'm sure you've guessed, I would have shot you... or something. I dunno. Mind if I sit?" Ivan sat on a near by table. "What about yourself? Why you here? Oh, don't give me that look. All you non-psychics are the same. Reading thoughts doesn't work like that. It's not like like turning on a radio. It requires active effort. Besides, unless I'm concerned for my safety, I prefer to respect people's personal privacy when talking to them. Oh, and there is another psychic out in the city somewhere. I'm not entirely sure. Very weak in the telepathy department, so he could probably throw a large couch at you. I'd worry about him more than me." Ivan checked the next minute of clairvoyance. Well, he wasn't getting shot. That's a good thing.
-
Sam took a drag of his cigarette. "Weird place to hide, Ivan. If I was you I'd be getting out of this damn city, not going into it." He chuckled. "And I'd expect you to already know what I was doing here." He said with another smile. His face was covered in a mixture of scars, dirt, and leftover face paint that caked his rust colored fur. He looked out of the smashed window to the gas station in the distance. "It's funny...You haven't managed to blow up the entire operation...literally." He shook his head and looked at Ivan. "I'll guess that you have the decency to not dig around in my head for what my plan is here...but if I tell you it's classified I'd also guess that that wasn't an issue for you to figure out on your own...So I guess I'll tell ya." He looked out the window at the road that was covered in cracks, debris, and potholes to the gas station across the 6 lane street. "We're expecting a 2nd human convoy to pass through. It's my task to make sure it doesn't reach the city." He opened his arms. "So here I am. Within the next half hour, the only thing left of this place will be a memory."
Suddenly, Sam's radio buzzed. "Angel 6, this is Hitman 4, the target is nearing your location. ETA 5 minutes. Over." Sam looked up at Ivan. "Show time."
-
"Closer you are the danger, the farther away from harm," Ivan chuckled. "And you'd guess right, on both accounts." Ivan leaned back. "I'm rather disappointed about your killing humans. Never like seeing members of my own species getting killed, but whatever."
Suddenly, Ivan jumped up. "My stuff! I'll be right back!" Ivan ran out and back over to the gas station, careful this time not to trigger anything, constantly checking his clairvoyance. He got his sax and his motorcycle and brought both across the street, hiding the vehicle before rejoining Sam. "Okay, now you can blow it up," he laughed.
-
Halfeb watched from the roof tops as Rose walked through the city. He whispered on his radio. "We have continuous eyes on the subject?" He asked and it came back, "Correct sir. Streets have been cleared. She will encounter no civilians. We're leading her right to the the target." Halfeb nodded. "Excellent. I'll stay with her. Keep in contact." He whispered back as he put the walkie talkie back in his pocket and watched her.

Siyan looked at the creature, "I let you know now, I have.... cravings that I must fulfill. If you have a weak stomach, or anything against it, speak now"
-
Arilys blinked a couple of times in shock when the taller fur started shooting some anthro that happened to pass in front of them. "H-hey, wait, that's not one of the humans!" he said before staring up at the human-looking anthro. "C-cravings..?" he asked nervously, lowering his ears a bit.

After a few minutes passed, Sam's ears twitched. He stood up from behind the counter and walked toward the window. He took out his scope and looked out to the edge of the horizon. A cloud of dust followed the convoy of trucks and Humvees. Sam quickly looked at Ivan. "Get ready!" He shouted. He waited until the convoy was near. The trucks were filled with men and ammunition headed straight for the city. Sam held the detonator ready. As soon as the trucks passed Sam clicked the button on the detonator.
There was a one second delay followed by a silent rumble. Then there was a loud bang and the sky turned red, erupting into smoke and flames. Sam stood up once it was all over. He looked at Ivan. "Grab your stuff. We need to move." He took hold of his rifle and kicked open the back door of the building, running outside. He ran around the right flank of the building and looked at the carnage left of the convoy. Bodies littered the floor and a massive fire burned over the area. Sam could hear muffled screaming. He looked over at a one of the Humvees. A soldier was trapped underneath the burning vehicle. If no one helped him he would burn. The human was a young kid, not older than Sam's oldest son (who was still human). He was screaming out for help. Sam watched on. He didn't know what to do. As a soldier, he knew his orders. As a man, he knew what was going on the soldier's head. He groaned. A sprinted toward the Humvee where the man was trapped. "IVAN! Help me get him out of there!"
-
Ivan hopped over the counter and started to run to were Sam was outside. Suddenly he heard him shout. Ivan dropped his stuff and sprinted over. That's when he saw Sam trying with all his might to save a kid from burning to death. Gathering all the strength his mind could gather, Ivan charged at the Humvee and hit it as hard as he could. Despite his lack in psychokinetic power he was still able flip the Humvee on it's side long enough for Sam pull the kid out from under it and then rushed over to help him get him to a safe distance.
"Is he going to be okay?" Ivan asked frantically. The human soldier's mind was screaming out in pain and it was difficult to shut out. "How bad is it? Come on, Sam! What do we do?"
-
serpington walked along a road Genvieve had located that lead to the city, he noticed a gas station in the distance. "dodge....." "what?" "MOVE!!" Nikki yelled just before a large convoy flew past, headed to the gas station. "crazy drivers." he said to the girls shaking his head. he started walking next to the road again watching the convoy get closer to the gas station. "well at least today shouldn't get to much more interesting." he joked just before station exploaded loudly ".......i hate irony.......well lets go see what happened....." he started jogging towards the now destroyed gas station.

Melanie looked from Arilys to Siyan confused. With her ears lowered she asked Siyan. "What the hell are you?
-
Sam looked at Ivan. "I don't know yet." He looked the soldiers body up and down. His legs were soaked in blood. Sam unsheathed his combat knife and cut open the leg of the kid's pants. His bone stuck out from a gaping wound below his knee. "He sustained minor burns and he's got a busted leg. Other than that, he'll live." He re-sheathed the knife and looked at the soldier who was frantically yelling in shock. "HEY!" Sam said, slapping the soldier across the face. "Shut up! You're still alive!" The soldier looked around and fixed his gaze on the desert fox that was kneeling over him. "AHH!!!" He screamed, reaching for his side arm. Sam quickly pulled out his Colt .45 and pressed it to his face before the soldier's gun was halfway drawn from it's holster. "...Don't even think about it." Sam said, narrowing his eyes. Sam took his own hand and disarmed the young man, throwing the M9 to the side. "Listen. You'll be fine? Okay? My name is Sgt. Crowe...That's Ivan." He said gesturing the human standing beside him. "You're banged up okay? Leg's broken. Don't look at it." The soldier started gasping. "You- You killed them!" Sam made a face and looked back at the firestorm burning the remains of the convoy. "...yeah...Sorry about that." Sam looked at Ivan. "There's nothing we can do for him. His guys will find him and get him a medic. For now, I need to get back to the rallying point." He looked up at Ivan. "Coming?" The soldier on the ground winced in pain. "You're...leaving me here?" Sam ignored the question and picked up his gun and started jogging off in the direction from which the convoy came. "Well!?" Sam asked, looking back at Ivan.

Siyan grabbed the girl the lifted her in the air by her shirt, pulling the blade of his cane to her throat. "You better watch how you speak to me, I saved your life, I can easily take it" he threw her on the ground and turned to the other creature. "Cravings that don't not pertain to you, just stay out of the way and we will get along just fine.,.. more or less."
-
rose made her way to the upper part of town where the majority of the humans lived in peace, saluting some of the guards on her way up who were patrolling the area, most of which were either sleep or slacking off. "noobies" she said shaking her head "best way to get your throat split by a feral is slacking off" she said under her breath as she continued to make her way to base camp to give her status report on the mission.
-
"hay, what happened here?" serpington called seeing two people near one of the blown up cars and another moving away from the other two. he walked up to the two to see they were human. "oh.......did i just make a big mistake?" "hi! are you going to help us? we're on our Way to the city." said Genvieve popping up from under the shoulder of his jacket. Nikki popped up to and looked around noticing the humans, "why are we standing so close?.....and why aren't they trying to kill us?......
-
Ivan felt guilty about living the kid there but there was very little he could do for him and he was certain he would have be viewed as a traitor is seen under these circumstances, so he ran and caught up to Sam. "Sorry, friend. Hey Sam! Wait up!" When he caught up he spied a figure approaching. In all the confusion he hadn't noticed their approaching. Talk about being clumsy. Oh well. "Hey, Sam. Over there." Ivan motioned towards the figure.
-
Sam looked back at Ivan. He could hear yelling coming from their direction. He raised his M16 and looked through the scope at the figure coming in close. It was another anthro. He lowered his weapon and looked at Ivan. "It's an anthro." He said raising his weapon again and looking through the sight. "We've been spotted." He said while his bottom lip curled back in thought. "They're not shooting...which is good." He looked back at Ivan again. "Be cool, lets see how this plays out. If bullets start flying, hit the deck." Sams radio suddenly buzzed. "Angel 6, this is Hitman 4. I have you in my sights. Who's the tag? Over." Sam clicked his radio on. "A friend." He replied. "Do you have sights on the unidentified target approaching my position, Hitman 4? Over." There was a moment of silence. Sam's eyes switched to the figure of a building off in the distance, a bright glare came from one of the windows for a split second.
Meanwhile, a rattlesnake peered through the sights of a Barret M82 .50 sniper rifle in the window. He lay perfectly still as his attention switched from Sam and Ivan over to the approaching stranger. He slowly clicked on his radio. "Affirmative, Angel 6."
Sam smiled. "Watch my back, Hitman 4."
The snake cocked the bolt back in his rifle. "Copy that."
Pretty soon, they were not more than 10 feet away. Sam's grip on his rifle tightened. "You sure are a sight for sore eyes." Sam said to the anthro who'd approached them. "My name is Sgt. Sam Crow, this is Ivan. You don't want to head into the city. It's not safe."
-
"I'm serpington and that's not my problem if its safe or not. these two need to get to that city." he said walking up to the two figures. Genvieve and Nikki peaking over his shoulders timidly. Genvieve suddenly looked over at a building in the distace "snake......1200 miles north of our position, threat detected." "are you sure?" "subject is on the third floor, second window from the left and is listening in shock through his radio.......yes I'm sure" "what are you two doing out here?" Nikki gave the two the evil eye for a little while but then started falling asleep again.
-
Sam chuckled. "What I'm doing here is..." He looked back at the firestorm behind him. "...was classified. But that's not important. I don't think you understand the gravity of the situation. That city just IS NOT accessable to anyone...especially a wanderer. You will be shot before you even get close. Those two on your shoulder shouldn't be leading you to certain death. I wouldn't be trusting your...intel." He said, his eyes shooting at Genvieve. "...The radio's not on by the way." He said, looking back at Serpington. "If I were you, I'd be heading back to where ever it is that you came from." Sam reach into his pocket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. He pulled one out and tapped about against the pack to pack down the tobacco. "So just out curiosity." He stuffed the cigarette into his mouth and lit up. "What's in the city that's worth stepping on a landmine for?"
-
"for me......nothing, for them........everything." serpington said calmly watching the two strangers. "and they are going to get to that city, even if it kills me." he said as he started walking towards the city again with the two little girls heads resting, one on each shoulder.
-
Ivan just stood there, deep in thought. The girl who detected Sam's sniper had intrigued him. There was a chance... Perhaps... May was well try it. Ivan decided to send her a little message via telepathy while the others were talking. If she was a budding telepath, as he suspected, then she would hear it without a problem. "Hello, child. My name is Ivan. What is your name?"
-
Genvieve started scratching the inside of her ear while rechecking her senses. completely unaware that Nikki had heard a whisper of a voice in her head.
-
"Oh, well. I was way off base, wasn't I? The little fox bat is the budding telepath." he laughed head. "It's okay darling. Just think. I'll hear it." Ivan smiled at Nikki. I know it's scary, all the voices that start coming into your head. Most of them are awfully loud, aren't they? It'll pass when you get older. Ivan was pretty good with kids. Hopefully this wasn't the exception.
-
Sam watched as Serpington walked past. He shook his head and sighed. "Can't help people who can't help themselves." He said with a tone of disappointment. His radio buzzed. "Angel 6, what's the situation? Over." Sam stood there watching as Serpington kept walking before he took another drag from his cigarette. He clicked the button on his radio before he spoke. "They're heading into the city. Everything's fine on my end, Hitman 4. Over." There was a moment of silence before the snake on the other end replied. "Copy that, Angel 6. On my way to the extration point. Over." Sam clicked the radio again. "Copy."
Sam's eyes switched to Ivan who seemed to be staring contently at Serpington. "You alright, Ivan?" Sam looked over at Serpington who was getting smaller and smaller in the distance.
-
"Huh? Oh yes. I'm fine," Ivan said casually. "We just going to let him go in with those children?"
-
Sam looked down and took a final drag of his half-finished smoke before flicking it away. He looked up at Ivan. "What are you suggesting, Ivan?" Sam knew what he was talking about. He couldn't just let a man with a couple of kids march to their certain deaths. It seems he'd crossed a boundary between the mission and the man. Something he knew was all too common. Still, Sam kept his composure and stared at Ivan through tired eyes.
-
"uh, mister we have a problem." "Genni, i told you you can just call me serp. now whats this problem?" "your approximately 15 feet from an active mine field. each mine is capable of killing the three of us within 5 seconds of activation. the placement is off though, if my calculations are correct setting off just one should clear a path you can traverse." "which one do we need to hit?"
