Alright, so first quarter is coming to an end...and I am hating my roommates.
I am beginning to wonder why I even bother with living with people.
Alright here is what kind of set it off. When I first moved in the dorm I brought with me several boxes of food, canned, milk, bread, etc. I allowed everyone in the dorm that they could have anything they want since I had an abundance and it was in my good nature and I only specified certain things for myself. A few weeks pass by and my food supply is gone which wouldn't be a problem. The problem is when they buy food they hoard it like misers. I had to quit my job to go to college and finding a new one is not looking good so I am in a financial pit so I can barely live off myself. I'm also according to them an outcast because I don't like to drink, smoke, do drugs or party. Every time the moment arises they begin to be complete jerks to me. Now I am a big guy and I am not one to be trifled with but I usually remain calm and collected but this has gone on for way to long. On a good note I did find an awesome apartment that if I ever get a job then I will move in almost instantly.

If they don't share their food, don't share yours. Or make an agreement with them on certain kinds of things you will share, while keeping the rest to yourself. You know, like you shouldn't have to buy four different jugs of milk or whatever, and you guys can take turns buying the shared stuff.

I've been there, dealt with that, don't ever want to see those [Bleep] ever again. When I was in college I lived in an apartment complex on campus, so I lived with 5 other girls. There were 4 rooms with a shared bathroom and living room. My best advice to you is don't try to feet or help out everyone else around you. Cause in the end they will screw you, and you'll end up miserable. If you can sit everyone down and have a meeting on putting money together to pay for things you all share, go for it.

Honestly, I'd go with AR's advice. Some room mates are just jerks and will take advantage of you.

Sad thing is it's not even in a college environment that it's like that. I had my own house back before I moved out here and somehow I ended up with 10 people randomly living with me... getting fed, getting picked up after, sleeping on my couches and playing my Xbox... It took me a while to realize that friends don't just mook, they contribute, and kick them all out. Don't get sucked into it. You're young, worry about yourself before you worry about everyone else.

if u have some friends at school and they live near the school see if they want a room mate if they do u wont have the problems they are giving u
