Title: What band got you into <enter music genre here>?

Just asking the question. What band(s) got you into a genre you didnt listen to much? Opinions and peaceful debate are okay, just no all-out flaming.

For me, Bullet For My Valentine, even though its not really "metal" as said by many, got me into metal and metalcore, aswell as "post-hardcore."

blink-182 and Rise Against got me into some early punk

acdc got me into rock

black sabeth got me into heavy metal

gorrilaz got me into alternitive

oasis got me into.......what ever genre they play

MSI- Got me into any forum of rock

SODA- Heavier Rock
AAR- Got me into more of the pop version of rock

AFI- The other kind, I'm not sure what I would call it

Lady Gaga- Just about the only pop I touch

Luda- Rap

N.W.A.- Gangsta Rap

If I need to spell out any kind of acronym just let me know

AFI's considered mainstream emo or punk-revival by my "punky" friends, depends if you listen to earlier stuff(before Decemberunderground is punk-revival) or later(mainstream emo). I love the early stuff, IDK why...

@Timmy: Lol be careful bout throwing the word hardcore around. Some people get angry over mislabels.

@Red Wolf: Oasis is alternative/britpop ^_^

reuben got me into hardcore music.

john coltrane and miles davis got me into jazz.

darude got me into dance music, which eventualy leads down the line into all of the electronic art music i love so dearly today.

LMAO, hardcore is a music genre, so yeah.. only those with a dirty mind doesn't get that :3

I almost forgot.

K.C. and the Sunshine Band got me into disco music.

That Handsome Devil got me into... something. I don't know what genre they play.

I dunno, Hijak Oscar Probably got me into punk and jazz... but then, The Clash has been around me since the womb. Gorillaz, probably the fall into alt. DJ Sharpnel and 403 got me into Speedcore. The rest, like rap, rock, motown... I've always had that in me
