Metal/heavy metal here, also punk, but you don't have very many choices up there...

that would be what i classify as "emo"
-
Heavy metal and punk are totally different to emo, at the least from a philosophical standpoint, but also from a tonal and musical perspective
-
I fail anyway... So ...
-
WHERE'S CELTIC/GAELIC!?!?!?
My second fav is showtunes >.>
-
techno stuffs
-
I would have more choices, but the forums only allows five options...
-
Out of those five choices, classic rock.
-
I guess out of those five, I would choose rap.
-
if emo means punk/metal (?????) then i guess i have to go for that. but emo isn't a genre of music really, more just a word that people use to describe other people.
but there is no jazz, no classical, no electronic... lol... i have a very wide pallet of music tastes and three of the five things on there are things that i don't listen to. (those things being show tunes, country and western and classic rock)
i listen to versions of show-tunes by black guys smoking reefers and ignoring the melody! ... does that count?
the closest i get to country and western is... nowhere near it. i'm english, i'm not sure why on earth i'd listen to country and western.
and as far as classic rock goes... i think the closest i get are some of the classic hardcore bands that there were... minor threat, rites of spring, bad brains. stuff like that. but that's hardily classic rock.
if i were to choose 5 options for music people listen to, i'd go;
rock
rap
classical
electronic
other

Dude, plenty of english people like country and western, like me :) I mean sure, I don't listen to much, but some of it, I like.

i never said english people aren't aloud to listen to it XD. i'd imagine too that if i listened to it i may indeed like some of it, but from what i've heard i'm not spellbound by a sudden wave of passion. to me it feels like the kind of music i would have had to grow up with to properly appreciate... that's just me though

Jazz, too bad it isn't present in the pool options. :/ I have chosen emo though.

Actually there is one word which is "all" but I forgot to use the quotes. Also my bad, those 3 don't appear on wikipedia from where I copied them all. :P Not as if I wouldn't like jazz or know the very types of it, but I was being lazy to use simple memory. And players...hmm let me think. The songs are mainly artist-less on youtube, what a pity! ... Damn you got me I just started listening to jazz so I don't know so much about it. :S Sorry to disappoint you.
-
hah! don't sweat it! i'm a working jazz musician so if you ever want any recommendations just tell me XD
-
My favorite music style is SKA-PUNK! It's the best fusion genre ever. I mean come on, trombones and electric guitar? What could be better?
-
I chose Classic Rock on the poll, but my favorite music styles are Rockabilly, Neo-Swing, Dance-punk, and garage rock. Kind of a weird variety haha ^_^
-
Uhh, it would be ska-core, ska punk and two tone ska. Yeah lots of ska for me. It's my anti-emo. Haha.
-
Im more into rave, although not many get organized over here >:(, so i guess i would go for dance/techno, and a few 80,s classics i like.
-
I see no Alt... And emo's a subgenre of punk.... :/ Plus you're missing so much... Like Classical, Synthpop, Electronica/Techno, Rock/Alt/Metal/Punk, Jazz, Cutural, Reggae, R&B, Normal Hip-Hop, and Soul... :/
-
It only allows me five choices!!! I can't post everything!!!
