Since I was born in 1994, I did not grow up with classic nintendo and super nintendo games. Instead I grew up with Gamecube games. Recently I discovered a way to play the games I missed out on for free on a download called an emulater. Once you download one, you can download free games, called roms, that are compatible with the emulater and play them. I have a NES and SNES emulater and have played several fun classic and challenging games, such as Mario 3, Mega Man 2, Star Fox, Super Metroid, and an English translation of Final Fantasy 3. Some of the games I downloaded are extremely difficult, such as Castlevania 4 and Ninja Gaiden. If there is any game or system you think I should download, you are welcome to tell me. I LOVE THESE EMULATERS.
p.s. My fluffly cat is on her back and purring next to my computer. :)

Oh, you missed out on a LOT. Super Mario RPG, Contra series, Final Fantasy 5 (FF2 english), Super Mario World, Crystalis, Star Tropics, Lost Vikings, Zelda Series, Out of This World (or Another World). That's to name a very small percentage of games I enjoyed. I'd have to pull out my collection. There are a ton of games for you and fluffy cat to enjoy. :P

You do realise that what you're doing is illegal, right? (thread will probably be locked soon)
I was born in '93 and I guess I was lucky seeing as I've at least had a taster of several generations worth of gaming and since then I actually own a lot of those older games from the late 80's and early 90's (whether it be on a retro games collection, wii virtual console or even physical cartridges). I find it odd that you were born a year after me and yet grew up with the GC instead of the Playstation and N64...But meh, I guess we're all different seeing as I grew up on a weird combination of the N64, Playstation, SNES, Megadrive/Genesis, NES, Master System, Game Boy, Game Gear and even the old Atari 2600. For a lot of them I only experienced them briefly and when with other family or at friends.
Also, Mega Man 2, challenging? What are you talking about? MM2 is one of the easiest games of that era, especially if you chose "Normal" difficulty (which is actually easy mode as the Japanese release only had one difficulty, which was essentially a glitchier version of Difficult). If you want a bit more of a challenge, try the original Mega Man or better yet, Contra (without the Konami code). Also, I find the lack of Sega consoles and games disturbing but hey, you weren't playing games from the Golden age when you were growing up so you probably have never had a time where Sega were once the kings of gaming alongside Nintendo.
Go buy some retro game collections or better yet, the individual games (a few were re-released in original form for the Game Boy Advance and many can be found on the Wii's Virtual Console).

This topic is not neccicarially illegal guys. Just DOWNLOADING the roms are. my suggestion for you is too try too rip them somehow.
From cartridges you've already bought. i do something similar on my PSX emulator. I rip the games from the CD too play them on the comp whenever i want.
And i grew up with All consoles since The NES era 'cept the sega ones xD

I didn't know it was illegal. :(
If they were illegal, why are they so easy to get and have no warning. Wouldn't Nintendo shut the sites down?
Anyways, thanks for the sugestions Cody Allen :) , and Flame, Im not that skilled at games, so to me mega man 2 is a bit of a challenge, especially the last few doctor wily stages.
Im still probably going to play the emulated games, (even if I shouldn't).

well, I Don't think Nintendo and such companies get any profit from old games, so they don't bother with EVERY site that has them.
Still, you CAN get arrested for it xD

LOST VIKINGS!!!!
and CHRONO TRIGGER
only way i got to play them was from emulator
HOWEVER i had all 3 of the original super mario bros on one cartridge, and still do.

Downloading ROMs are as illegal as downloading music, everyone does it without getting caught but it's still against the law, and if you do get caught you get your computer taken away. Also with this ACTA thing that's probably gonna be passed everyone who has a bunch of ROMs and illegal music are going to have to pay for everything, and you will be caught. I say don't do it. For most you can get special USBs or things like that that you plug the cartridges in and play them on the emulator (I don't really know, the only emulators I've ever used where for GameBoy, and I know you need the USB for that.)
