i'd be betraying my own species if i said tiger surely!

i've been fascinated by lions my whole life, so there was no thought process involved (unless you count the past 20 years). i properly love tigers though. for anyone interested in how they're doing in terms of their natural habitat, there's a decent book written by English poet Ruth Padel.... it's called "Tigers In Red Weather". i saw her beat out some poems about tigers with my jazz teacher's quartet accompanying at a concert last october. and they were real nice poems even if i can't remember them. real mystical, which suits.

Seriously, though, I usually lean more towards tigers -- love the stripes -- but, I have to say I have a particular fondness for the cover art on C.J. Cherryh's Chanur books. (If you haven't read them, they're basically lions in space -- which is excellent.)

you think so? i'd pick the tiger. depending on gender. i think a lioness would beat a tigress, but in a male slap-fest i think it's pretty evenly matched. tigers are bigger, faster, stronger, pretty much everything that daft punk could ever write in a tune... but a lion would A - scare it, and B - be able to take a good few hits to the neck because of it's mane. my god would the lion be slow though, and in africa it'd get worn out well quickly.

Like canines vs. felines, I'd probably participate on the feline side, and I have reasons, but tigers and lions are both very similar and I have no reason to like either one over the other really, but I chose tigers since that's mah fursona.

Oh, and I feel as though 'ligers' are nature compromise in this subject ^_^
