I took my name (Alex) and my species (Fox) and an anagram later and an extra letter (i) i came up with Felix the fox
A little boring of a name, but I thought it was clever at the time, so it stuck :P

I wrote a story way back in the eighth grade, and the main character was an anthro wolf named Kayle. This was long before I discovered the fandom, and when I found it, the name had kinda stayed with me. I thought it was appropriate, seeing as it came straight outta my first furry story, and I like the name. So I use it.

I got my name from the Turkish word for shadow. took me awhile to find a good name with a meaning that I liked but it was a great success!

Oh! Golge! My old name ment "defender of mankind" but it kinda went against my charater.
I asked someone, and they said Mina. Before I found the fandom, I had a anthro character named Lexie... I like Mina better. :P
As for ShadoWolf800, it was first darkwolf8000, but on this site, it wouldn't accept all of the 8000, and on another, I wanted something cooler sounding, so I chose ShadoWolf.

Well, Flames has been a name for several (both antho and non-anthro) characters of mine when I was younger and it was a name I liked as it linked in with the fiery nature of my characters (plus it rhymed with my real name XD)
Then when I made my fursona, HoKaze no Flames, I kept the name of Flames but wanted something that sounded warrior-like and a little exotic. I decided upon "Flames of FireWind" and then took this and took "Ho" and "Kaze" (fire and wind respectively) from Japanese along with the "of" usage of "no" in Japanese and boom, HoKaze no Flames. It's probably massively incorrect in Japanese but having it true to the language was never part of the plan, I wanted something that sounded good to me, was unique and fit the character ^^;

In 6th grade, I wanted to learn Norwegian and needed my new fursona's name and a new username to go by online. I went over to an English-to-Norwegian translator

Well my out look on life and things are not always "normal" and I was always told I was insane. I simply answerd I'm not insane I'm perfectly self-sane meaning that I'm perfectly sane for my own mind and that every one else is just crazy. And I just changed the spelling of it, and it became my name. :P

Well, I did a rearranging of my name, Cameron, and my last name, and took my favorite word, fail (lolz ^_^) and I took letters from each and came up with Chroin. :D

way back when, my friend and I were playing legend of mana for ps1 and he decided my guys name would be macid. its been one of my alias' ever since.

Ryffnah was the main character in a novel I wrote the first fifty pages of way back in high school. It was about first contact with a tiger-like race of aliens. She was the captain of the alien ship, and she had kind of bronze on copper stripes. I completely lived in that novel for the first two years of high school, but then it got eclipsed by all the college-prep classes, applying to college, and then, eventually, college. By the time I had enough free time to really think about working on it again, my writing style and perspective on the world had changed too much for me to be able to write an end that would match the beginning without a serious rewrite.

It's Reno O' Malley. Some might recognize the name, it's a place in Nevada, the state I live in. Ooor, if you are a gamer like myself you might recall the name from the Final Fantasy 7 story.

This is Reno(Red haired guy) and his partner Rude(Bald guy). Reno is kind of a cocky and care free guy. He's also a bit clumsy, probably a comic relief character the way he's portrayed in Advent children. But my Reno, isn't really like him.

But onto the last name. O' Malley. Reno, being Irish, needed a defining last name. At least one that screamed Irish. So I chose O' Malley. It was purely at random, I don't know if it means anything significant or anything. It was just to make Reno appear more Irish without much effort. You also might recognize the name O' Malley from from a web show called Red Vs Blue. O' Malley is an evil Freelancer, but they're all pretty evil...
Well, that's the story behind Reno O' Malley's name.

Dander was originally short for Dandreline, but Dander stuck because it became a pun, as dander rubs off on people. Ever since I was in preschool my furry games and roleplays were always adopted by my friends, who joined me in everything from guarding our eggs to dressing up TY animals for roleplay.

1. No one else used it
2. I always like the first part of a name to be Dat, don't know why

4. Coleo is the name of the fursona family I joined, don't know why it is called Coleo.

Well, my name went through many stages. It was RigorMortis. I was known by that alias because of my main character in my stories, RigorMortis.
RigorMortis came from my love for forensic pathology; it's the first stage of death where the body stiffens.
Mortis.Reptus came along after I realized I didn't want to be tagged with my main character Rigor. Looking over my cast of characters they seemed to all have the generalness of being dead or morbid reptiles, so I retained Mortis and went into latin. I coined the name "Mortis Reptus" which meant dead lizard. I thought it suited me, so I stuck with it.

Mine started out as Kitt red fox Kitt because i look young and a Kit is a young fox red fox because its my speices then it becam Kitt R Beesley r is the inital for renard a male fox and beesley is my last name irl well because of a mix up thats now my legal name as well so yeah...

josh down is a bit of a mystery to be honest . i remember creating the lion character in my head and randomly picking out a name from my school register, but then i have no idea where the down bit came from. it just kinda happened somehow. i would like to know.
if i was to make another character that i identified with (i have an idea in my head for one) his name would be Shwari which means "Quiet" or "Serene" in swahili. either that or just flat out call him Serene

Mine came from when I used to play WoW, once I heard Death Knights were coming out I tried to use all the fitting names I could think of, then looked in an old dictionary and found Arrant meaning infamous; vile, etc, used it, eventually it stuck.

My great...great.. ... Okay I'm not sure how far back - the family tree is my mother's hobby, not mine - grandfather was a nice Italian bloke by the name of Joseph Grimaldi. Also known as Joey the Clown. The first clown, in fact. And it was his style of entertainment that pretty much killed the Harlequins off as a profession.
Also, Harlequin sounds slightly cooler than Clownblood.

an old Anime i used to watch, i was OBSESSED with the one character Inouva... and towards the end of the first season, its revealed that hes actually a giant White Wolf that was transformed into a humanoid so that he could carry a sword to defend his master... and being that my Fursona is a wolf, it just seemed logical that that should be his first name. His last name is Wulf, for well... obviously reasons ;)

Morticia's name is derived from the Addams Family (as if that wasn't obvious. xD) which I've always rather enjoyed-- but the real meaning was that it was a nickname of mine for a short while given to me by my baby cousin. He was only-- I think three at the time, and there was that MnMs commercial with all of the characters at Halloween time and he had pointed to the screen at Morticia and said "Emilee, Emilee!" Which is my real name. Apparently the way I look and dress correlated with Morticia. (Which it sort of does, I guess. xD) Since then, I've used the name as my fursona's name quite happily. It's the mix of gothic and beauty that perfectly defines Morticia.

Well, my favorite movie as a kid was the Aristocats. I play piano, so I took the name Birlioz from the little black kitten that played piano in the movie. It's spelled differently, but I like the way I respelled it.
DeLou. Well, after reading the Anne Rice vampire series (It's absolutely nothing like Twilight. It's a beautiful, very victorian-renaissance-like vampire story) I learned that I loved things with "De" in front of the names and such. One of my favorite characters was Lestat De Lioncourt, and my favorite part was the "De L.." So I mixed it with my most favorite character from the book, Louis. So, DeLou.

Well I'm not too good at story telling so I'll keep it short.
Years ago I used to day dream.... a lot. I was a pretty hardcore sci-fi fan too (still am) and would day dream about anything with space ships in it.
Basically I wanted a unique name for the captain of the flagship 'Europa' (loooooong story, never written down). Now I really love names beginning with z and I liked the name Zephyr, but it tends to be a female name and is not totally unique.
So I changed the y to an r and the r to a i ( took a bit of experimenting to get the right combo) which made Zephri.
Zephri was pretty much me but with far more self confidence and was far better with words than I am, not to mention stronger faster smarter and more agile (pretty much everything I'm not).
Oh he was also a cyborg to and could body swap with other 'spare' bodies if the first one was destroyed and some of these bodies were anthropomorphic cats.
So that's the back story to this name, kind of corny I know but it kept me entertained when bored and at school.
I use it for all of my aliases so chances are if you see the name Zephri while browsing google it'll prolly be me (most of the times, it's not 100% unique) I also use it for my email and aim/yim.

I had a lot of trouble choosing, but I decided finally on Sindiris (Sin-deer-iss), Sindi (Sin-dee) for short. I use the name for just about every online avatar i've every used.
I got that name from my original avatar name, Miridis (Meer-id-iss). I got tired of it so I tweaked it for a Blood Elf I made on WoW one day so it would sound more diabolical or something.
Anyway, I like it so I stuck with it... Sindiris the Serval.

I have a new secondary fursona, so I guess I'll say something about hers now.
Riley(It can be used for a girl, don't flip out :P) used to be the name of my old persona (human), who was pretty much an insane version of myself. She was a character in a story I scrapped because I felt I couldn't do anything very original and interesting with it.
My new fursona is not the same as that character, I just liked and wanted to reuse the name Riley. :3
And her last name, Latiri, is simply a warped version of "Laterale", the second part of her species's scientific name.

Well, when I was little, I kinda just through the "Raphial" together. Marshall is a part of my name, and McDuffy is a play off of McDuffie which is a popular name in my family.

Smitty is the nickname given to me by everyone because it is a variation of my last name and since I am a clever rogue and I like pirates thus my fursona got his name.

My fursona's name is my internet name. MB is just it shortened, and it kinda grew on me.

Reeve means Wolf in Edensporian. It's also a Britannian official, but that is just coincidence.
