Waking up, she was immediately shocked by the fact that she seemed to be looking in two different directions. The second thing she seemed to notice, is that she was no longer in her room. Her silky red-orange blankets were gone, as well as her oriental comforter. Everything seemed old, broken down, and dusty. Looking down, she caught a glimpse of her hands, and jumped. Not only were they colored in dark gray and orange scales, but it seemed that she also had three fingers and two thumbs. She held them out in front of her to get a better view focusing with all her might to keep her eyes looking in one spot, and bent all of her fingers in a somewhat quick test run to see if she wasn't hallucinating. Sure enough, they reacted, confirming that it was real. She ran her fingers along her soft scales, enjoying it and remembering how it used to feel when she ran her fingers on her snake.

She felt her fingers running along her arm, too. The scales were on her arm it seemed. She took a deep breath. "This has got to be one vivid dream.." Taking in more of her surroundings, she noticed a mirror in the corner, across from the door. Reaching down, she pushed off the ragged tatters of a cover, sending dust spiraling into the beams of sunlight that shone through what seemed to be a boarded up window and stood. She coughed a few times in an attempt to wave it away, and headed to the covered mirror. She almost fell when something curled around her leg, scaring the life out of her. Looking closer, it was a tail with two yellow bands around the end of it. She scratched her head curiously, taking a deep breath before closing her eyes and snatching the veil from the covered mirror. Peering closer, she wiped her eyes... She seemed to be Romei. Her own character... "This can't be real." Shocked, she stumbled back onto the floor, just staring in disbelief.

Sunlight poured in an open window, the warm rays heating the ragged covers the male lay under to a degree he couldn't take any longer. Grumbling, he rolled over and much to his surprise hit the floor with a harsh thud.

"What the hell...?" He mumbled, brushing himself off groggily, his sleep-drenched mind trying to figure out where the other foot or so of space on his bed went, when an unusual sensation itched its way into consciousness. Why did everything smell so decrepit? Curiosity overwhelmed his sore body shakily climbed to his knees, grabbing on to the bed for support with his...paws?
"No way...no way, no way, no way!" He whispered, looking down at the feral paws gripping the bed side with ease. Erratic questions assailed his mind as he continued to stand, slowly taking in his surroundings...and his new self.

The room was decorated in a way that screamed Middle Ages, and not in the good way. Moth-eaten garments lay on an old table in-front of the bed, made from cloth that was nowhere near as comfortable as his basketball shorts he was wearing before.  He groaned at the realization that he was not in Kansas, or in fact, the United States anymore. Everything about his old life had disappeared as fast as his comfortable pajamas, leaving him in the middle of God-knows-where with nothing but some rags.

Frustration was on the verge of kicking in when he caught a glimpse of his reflection in a large piece of dusty glass laying haphazardly in the corner. Canine eyes and muzzle stared back, mirroring his astonished gaze as he continued stare in mixed horror and excitement. Mane.....tail.....even the thorn-like tattoos that adorned his lower body like a rite-of-passage ritual into his world. He knew what, more specifically who, he was now. He was Mordecai, his fursona he had created one day as he scavenged through art sites on the internet.

"Maybe this place has some perks after all...." He grinned, finishing his examination of the changes while silently musing on how in the world any of this could be real.

Reno slept soundly, until he woke up on the floor. He managed to roll off his bed. He sat up on the floor, groggy and still half asleep. He yawned and started to crawl back into bed. Though a tiny spider was staring him in the face. He froze, just looking at it in his half asleep state. As soon as he realized it was a spider, it might as well have shouted "Boo!". Reno shot to his feet and backed to a wall, which knocked over a table. He turned to the table, over looking a small mirror hung on the wall. "Oops, wait...Where'd that come from?" He then noticed his clothing, it was not what he went to sleep in. It was very worn cloth clothing. Grabbing at it he noticed another new feature he hadn't went to sleep with. He had paws..."What the?!" He frantically looked at his hands. He looked at them, steadily raising them until he saw the mirror on the other side of them. He saw his face, white fur, orange spot and long rabbit ears. "Woah, the 'ell is this? Wait a sec, 'oly 'ell! I'm Irish!" Reno felt his new found face and body. "I'm a rabbit! And I'm soft! I'M CUDDLY!!"

He felt something was very wrong when he started to stir. He was nowhere in his room or house, and there were no coverings on his body except a pair of pants. He partially contemplated being violated in his sleep, but forgot that notion when he could feel only having three fingers on each hand. He started to get up until he felt something tickle somewhere behind him. He spun around a few times until noticing he had a tail, and could see it and the entire room clearly without the aid of eyeware.

"I really hope I'm not awake... I need to be-" He jumped for a moment when he saw a red glint in a window that didn't seem to go away. He treaded closer and closer until realizing it wasn't a window, but a mirror mostly covered in a tattered old tarp. He slowly took the rest of it off and his recently extended jaw dropped as he stood as to what he always wanted Chrono to look like, but could never replicate on paper. While I hope this is a dream that I won't forget, I really need a referance image for her to draw... he mused before squeezing his muscles to see if they were really, yea, they are compressed. "I should not be feeling this... but this strength feels great!!" he mumbled as he looked around the room, and back to the body of his most powerful fursona.

She didn't want to open her eyes; something wasn't right. The smell....it was different from her room, where her room smelled like pine this place had an old, decayed odor. She continued to lie there, hoping to wake from this strange dream, finally she gave in and opened her eyes only to find that her suspicions were correct. She was no longer in her small but cozy bedroom, instead she was in a dank, poorly lit room. Sitting up, she began to run her hands through her hair as she always did - only to find that her shoulder length hair was missing, replaced by short bristled fur . Scared and confused, she looked down at her body, but it wasn't hers. She had a slender tiger's body with orange and black fur, she even had a tail. "Have I become Jinx, my fursona?" she thought. "This can't be real."

Felodran screamed as the zombies continued to engorge themselves on his flesh. Their claws easily penetrated the coat of fur, and the meat beneath as they feasted upon his entrails. His screaming died down as he died, and then arose as another member of the ranks of the undead.

Felodran shot upwards in bed in a cold sweat. That blasted zombie nightmare found him... AGAIN! He quieted his hyperventilating and took a look around his room.
"Wait a minute... where's my poster of Carmine headshotting a sniper?" He asked aloud as he stared at the blank and to be frank ugly wall directly in front of him. Carefully and slowly he stood up, and found his footing ... different. He looked down and saw paws of a lynx.
He screamed and thought a lynx had come to eat him, but then realized it was just his own feet, which still disturbed him greatly.
He found a mirror sitting on a nightstand and held it up to his face.

Felodran screamed again, this time as much in shock as in surprise.

After a few moments, she shakily got up after a couple of unsuccessful times. It seemed harder to balance with a tail, and it kept curling around things like her legs, which made her jump every time. She didn't scream, but she always had the tendency to have the short, silent gasp to accompany her jerks. She looked around again, this time at the door. Reaching down she grabbed the doorknob, still getting used to having two thumbs when a thought shot across her mind. But what's out there if I look like this? She shook her head and looked down. Usually she would have felt nervous about walking out into a strange place in the nude, but she was a big lizard. There wasn't really anything showing, and well, lizards ran around in the nude in nature, right?

Pulling on the door, it creaked open, and the silence of the room seemed to give way to a bustling street. She closed the door. She looked down to see that her scales seemed a little darker. "Oh great. Not only am I Romei, but seems zhat since I'm a chameleon, I vear my heart on my sleeve somevhat." She growled, then her eyes got wide as she heard her own voice. It was more masculine than she remembered and it had a German accent. "Oh vhatever." She pushed the door open again, this time stepping out into the same dingy alleyway that had greeted her before. She looked to her right to see loads and loads of anthropomorphic wolves and foxes, everything seemed to be from the canine family. She chucked to herself, "Vell it's not a short fall from zhe furry fandom." She continued, ducking down behind some of the old broken crates in the alleyway to observe.

It was a square. A square where it looked like vendors were set up. She looked behind her to see that where she had emerged from seemed to be a condemned Inn, and she noticed that there was a new and improved version of it in the square. She thought to herself, I swear, this looks like something I've seen in a video game... Not only was there an Inn, but there was a blacksmith's shop, a baker, a place where clothes and armor alike was sold, and everything else that was depicted in her games that kept a medieval town operating, even down to the cobblestone roads and the fountain in the center. She could hardly believe what she was seeing, it was almost surreal until something touched her on her shoulder. This time, she yelped and darted out into the square, only to realize that it was her tail again. She shook her head, not realizing that a lot of the folk had stopped their activities to take a look at her. She was the only scaly thing for miles it seemed.

He started walking around, quickly getting used to his tail as he had enough dogs and cats in his life to know how it works. The only problem was sitting down since he had a new appendage to deal with. He searched the room for anything like a shirt or tunic, but only found a pair of finger-less gloves in a broken chest. When he slipped them on, he speculated he was probably given these as the finger holes fit snugly over his talons. He flexed his newly dressed talons before heading to the door with the expectation of eiher ending up in a hallway or out on the street.

However he felt a sinking feeling as he opened the door and stepped out onto, nothing. He quickly pulled his foot back and saw that he was in one of the few rooms that didn't collapse with the rest of the ruined building. He felt the slight anticipation of impact as he jumped out of the room and rapidly soared over the tinder-covered ground and quickly headed towards the street. He hit the street rolling and was able to look up as the building finally seemed to fall down completely. Either my jump was the final push, or I was lucky I got out when I did. he mused as he got up and brushed himself off.

This was when he realized how far away from his reality he truly was. He was in a town that was populated by anthromorphs of seemingly only mammalian race, which some of them took time away from their current job to stare at him with a different emotion on their faces, none of them a rather pleasant execept for a few who seemed to be only attracted to his reptilian features. He started making his way out of town until he spotted a chameleon, then stopped only to be visually obstructed by  two 'old man' felines that seemed to have their hands on a handle of what was assumed to be generic piece of sharpened metal. "I don't want trouble good-" he stopped talking as his voice sounded a few shades deeper than before, and had a slight hint of authority. The voice seemed to throw off the cats for a few moments, long enough for him to get around the two and head towards the chameleon. The coloration of the chameleon was getting more and more familiar as he got a better look at what he could only identify as Romei. He wondered if the person behind Romei, Mortis, was in the same situation.

It couldn't just be me in this situation, it can't!

After finishing his narcissistic indulgence, the hybrid carefully stretched and made cautious steps around the room to test his maneuverability. Everything seemed so much more fluid, but it also took that much more work to do ordinary actions. All the while, he mused about the strange stirring that lingered just beyond the reach of his conscious. It was that stirring that prompted him to put the rags on for the moment, until 'we' could find something much more appropriate.

The pants and shirt were itchy and uncomfortable, but they fit well enough for moderate flexibility. He made one last self-criticism in the shard of glass before reaching a hesitant paw outward to pull the door open. But before he could, an shock ran through his body that caused him to step back from the door. The lingering sentiment hanging on the edge of his conscious was outraged at the timid gesture. He was Mordecai, and Mordecai took charge with no second thoughts.

Swearing at his own naivety, he came to the somewhat disconcerting realization that in becoming Mordecai, he had acquired all his personality traits and instincts as well. He grabbed the door and pulled it back with a bit more force than necessary, stepping into the bright sunlight and roar of common society.

"Well, well. What do we have here?" He mumbled under his breath, eyes moving around to scour the scene for details. But all he could gather from them was that the scaley citizens standing in the center of the town square were oddities, at least that's what the suspicion and surprise in their eyes read.

"Since when have I been able to read people?" He thought with a measure of uncertainty, though he was reassured by the feeling of approval radiating from the sentiment. He was learning.

Felodran could see in the dark room as if there was a huge light on, but when he looked around, there was only a small crack of light actually creeping in. He slapped his head, as he remembered an Animal Channel special on Cats. Needless to say, it was strange being able to see everything that would've remained unseen if he still had human eyes. His tail swished around and hit his legs, and it felt quite awkward. "Sitting down would be a pain too..." he said to himself, noting how his voice was altered to be like what he imagined Felodran's.

He had that slightly arrogant tone of someone who knew a lot more then most people should, but Felodran was clueless in this situation. Clumsily making his way to the door, he tried to open it, but it was really weird trying to use his paws. Grunting in annoyance, he used his new powerful hind legs, and kicked the condemned door off it's hinges. If he was a human it wouldn't even open.

Marveling at his new found strength, he walked outside, and saw a couple reptiles standing in the middle of a medieval looking town full of wolves and foxes.
"Ok Felodran, just act casual" He stepped down from the stairs of the condemmed building, whistling a couple showtunes, but stopped when a couple wolves gave him very strange looks.

"TOO CASUAL" he thought as he silenced his whistling and just marched along to where the reptiles stood.

Reno was still marveling at the fact that he was now "Cuddly". Completely taken in by the moment, he didn't even question it and welcomed it. But he soon figured this wasn't a dream, it was too real to be a dream. Something had to be going on elsewhere. He calmed himself down and composed himself. "Okay, I'm cuddly. that's a given. I'm now Irish, which makes me automatically cool. And I'm a rabbit. Reno to be precise. This can't be a dream, I've never 'ad one this...vivid. Alright, I suppose I should go outside and see what's what." Reno finished talking to himself and went out the door, which led to a hallway. He went towards the stairs at the end, went down them and out another door in what seemed to be a lobby. He exited into a dark alleyway, he instinctively went towards the light at one end. Stopping at the edge he looked out in awe. "Oh...My...God...FURRIES!" He looked around and all of them excitedly, foxes and wolves all over. Also a Lion looking individual, a Chameleon, Dragon and a Lynx. He figured the odd species out might know something. Just as he was about to walk over, he felt a prick from behind him. "Don't move, don't scream, don't even breathe. Just give me all your valuables and you get to live." Reno froze in place and held his hands up. Behind him, a Gecko in a brown hooded cloak stood close behind him sticking a dagger into his back. "Oh crap! I'm being robbed! For what?! I don't even have anything! What IS money here?! Oh man oh man oh man!"

Kayle yawned as he woke.  Man, something smelled WEIRD in here...  He sneezed some dust out of his nostrils, then cracked one eye and looked around the barren, dusty room, and sprang up in suprise.  "Holy crap!!  Where the heck am I?"  The folf looked down and saw... fur?  He rushed over to a mirror on the wall an examined himself.  He was... his fursona?  The canid grinned exposing his teeth.  He turned around, and looked over his shoulder, examining his tail.  He ran a paw through his lavendar fur, and felt like he would cry with happiness.  He had no idea where he was, but... This was HOME.  He was who he had always wanted to be, and he loved it.  The folf laughed and raised his head up toward the ceiling, and gave a long, happy howl.  Panting, he returned his gaze to the mirror.  He was wearing simple cloth trousers, raggedly patched and frayed, and nothing else.  He shrugged and made his way to the door, and opened it excitedly.  Time to see what was outside...

After pinching herself hard enough to leave bruises (at least she thought they would, the fur made it impossible to know), Jinx began to re-think the thought that she was dreaming. "Even if this is a dream, I don't want to spend it in this dusty old room" she said to herself. She then stood up and noticed that she was dressed in a ragged shift that reached her knees. Walking across the room, she opened the door and found herself at the top of a staircase. Navigating her way down the stairs was no simple task, her tail seemed to throw her balance off, which made her keep leaning forward so that she didn't feel the weight on her back. It took a few practice steps but she finally began to stand straight and the tail's weight didn't bother her as much, although she still felt off balance she could walk easily. Finally she made it to what she assumed was the door leading outside. She took a deep breath, which was much easier in her new non-asthmatic body, and stepped out into a large square which seemed to be populated by those of the canine family. "Great. I'm a cat surrounded by dogs, THAT won't get me noticed."

She looked up, only to realize that the folk were looking at her strangely. Not only that, but there was a darker reptilian figure heading toward her. She almost scampered away, only to trip over her tail again. She was getting nervous with being around so many live people at once... Wait.. Live people? What other kind of people would she be around? It seemed his personality was intruding on her thoughts. She swallowed hard, taking in her surroundings, there were so many people watching, and before that creature that was rushing at her before could reach her, a smaller, younger canine helped her up in her new body. It seemed to be confusing because she was a him in this world and not a her. The canine girl that helped her up, looked at her as if in awe, then her eyes shifted to the creature that was intruding. It was reptilian, too.

Mortis felt like it had fit the description of something she'd seen before while surfing the net or browsing her usual forum, but she couldn't place her finger on it, even so, that wasn't now, and that thing could be hostile for all she knew. "Zhank you very much, freund." she said to canine, brushing herself off. The girl continued to look at him, while it seemed after the very brief moment of silence, everyone returned to their normal lives somewhat normally, if not nervously.

"You two aren't from around here, I can tell." the girl said. "You've got scales." She seemed almost timid in saying it. "What are you doing here? The reptiles from the forests have never been on good terms with the wolves that live here."

Mortis shook her head... Er.. His head. As much as it seemed important to focus at the moment, she was still trying to wrap her mind around whether to refer to herself as a she or a he. She was herself from her previous life mentally, but a he physically. She thought so anyway, her figure was just like she drew Romei's -- It looked androgynous, but she decided for the sake of saving on the confusion, she'd refer to herself as a he from now on since Romei was a he. "Err -- Vhy?" He managed to spit out from the jumble of thoughts that clouded his head.

Her eyes widened with surprise, "What? You don't know?" She looked at the both of the scaled citizens. "The reptiles were thought to have died off. After years and years of them wiping the wolves almost off the face of the earth, they disappeared. No one knows why, and if there are some alive, I don't think they've been seen for a long, long time."

Reno was still standing there, knife in his back, Gecko still robbing him. "Okay, your Reno for god's sake...You didn't have a Mac10...Okay...Reno's super slick with hand to hand...Let's...Juuuuust..." Reno rolled forward and with his heel he kicked the knife from the Gecko's hand. As he came out of his rolled he turned to see the Gecko coming at him with another knife. He didn't expect it and was tackled to the ground, holding the knife at bay as it was slowly inching towards his face. "Crap! Get off me! Grrr..." Reno managed to roll the Gecko to the side and got on top of him, only to roll over again being back on bottom. "Okay, not so much a tough guy...Still got some things to work out."

Kayle looked outside in pure wonder.  The town square layed out in front of him seemed like a screenshot from one of the Oblivion games, or Dragon Age or something along those lines.  Now, he really was excited.  The folf stepped outside, and soon lost himself in the crowd of people bustling about.  Suddenly, his stomach growled, and he whimpered.  God, why was he always hungry?  The folf searched the pockets of his trousers for money, and found none.  His stomach growled again, louder this time.  He had to find SOMETHING to eat.  He began sniff the air, singling out the smells of food.  If nothing else, he supposed, he could steal something.  Kayle's ears drooped as his stomach rumbled again.  Who was he kidding?  He wasn't a thief.  Heck, he didn't even know where he was.  A commotion nearby caught his attention.  A rabbit was being mugged!... or something.  The folf sprang up and dashed toward the fight.  Though he wasn't an accomplished fighter, Kayle was strong.  His fist connected with the attacker's face, and the reptilian figure rolled off of the rabbit, surprised and hurt.  Kayle kicked at him, and the thief fled down the alleyway.  Kayle turned and helped the rabbit up.  "Hey, you okay, bud?"

Reno rubbed his head, forgetting he had long rabbit ears up there now. "Uh...Yeah, I'm fine. Saved my 'ide just in the knick  of time too...I'm uh...I'm Reno. Nice to uhm...Be saved by you." He kind of stood there not really knowing what else to do. After all, he was in some crazy new world. thinking on that, the wolf looking guy that helped him seemed dressed like him, maybe he was in the same position he was. But he also thought "Wolf...Hunter", then thought of himself, "Rabbit...Lunch". "Uhm...Thanks for savin' me, I guess I'll be on my way." Reno nervously turned and walked off in any direction he happened to turn.

Mordecai crept closer to the two fighting strangers, careful not to attract any of the crowd's unnecessary attention to himself. It was harder than it sounded, seeing as he was still new to his form. However the 'victim', as well as he could determine, looked like he could use any assistance the hybrid could offer.

"Its less than a few minutes being in a strange world, and you're already trying to be the hero...Awesome." He whispered angrily under his breath, inching nearer until his hindpaw struck the cool metal of the thief's first knife. But before he could do anything else, yet another fur entered the fray, only to wound the assailant and send him running.

Breathing a sigh of relief at not having to blow his incognito status, Mordecai's sentiment once again suggested another plan of action: to follow the thief.

"There's no way in hell I'm following--" But the sentiment's command caused the hybrid to wince. It wasn't in his 'new' nature to let things slide so easily. From what he had gathered, those of scaley descent seemed to be rarities. And as such, maybe they had some information on how things work here in this world. Angry and irritated, Mordecai gripped the knife in his paw, before slipping down the alley in pursuit of the would-be robber.

It didn't take too much time to track him, due to the fact the robber was taking shelter down an alley that split from the main one he fled down. Knife at the ready, the hybrid gave full control to the sentiment, as it seemed to have more combat knowledge than he did. Still doing a damage report from his wounds, the reptile reacted little as Mordecai wrapped an arm around his throat, using the other to brandish the knife threateningly in-front of the robed scaley's eyes.

"How do you enjoy life in your new body?" A dry, harsh voice uttered from the reptile's mouth, causing his mouth to contort into a malice-smeared smirk.

"A lot better than your life is gonna be." Mordecai returned, his words filled with a confidence that allowed a sadistic grin to stain his muzzle. Behind the sentiment's dark bravado, and over-cliched response, he hid his shock at the scaled-one's words. How did he know? But more importantly, what more did he know?

"If most of the wolves were killed off, then these reptiles that I have not met have either lost interest, or had something more important to do than finish their genocide." He was about to address the Romei-like chameleon when the two felines from earlier, made it their priority to pull him away from the two by his left shoulder. He tried to jerk away from the feline, but only got a stronger yank in response, "Would. you. let. go. of. me!!" he yelled, throwing his left talon back, not realizing that he apparently coated it in fire until it hit the man's bicep, not only breaking the bone underneath, but burning the clothes and flesh that the fist came in contact with. The feline, a lion that seemed to have cut off most of his mane, had roared in pain, let go of him, and staggered away the next instant after the impact. "#$%##$@ reptile!!" the lion yelled while holding his broken arm.

Chrono, since he already seemed to have inherited the attitude and body, quickly went from anger to awe as he looked at his flame-coated talon, then shook it until the fire went out. "Um, is this a good time to mention that I have no idea where I am?" he said as the girl had went from surprise to near-shock at his apparent display of power.

As Felodran walked by, he couldn't help but eavesdrop on a old fox telling a story to a bunch of smaller foxes and wolves.
"Probably the town kids or something" he thought.
The old man was leaning back in his chair as he put on his glasses.

"Once upon a time, before even I was born, there used to be plenty of Lynxes walking around these streets, or so my great grandad told. These Lynxes used to be a very kind and friendly people, occasionally trading with us and helping us with any problems we got from those reptiles from the woods. Now these people come from a mountainous region to the North, very rugged place, pretty dangerous too, but they somehow manage to live there every day.

"Ahh... the Lynx homeland, I think, sounds a bit like Russia, but the Lynxes seem to be on good terms with everyone here" Felodran thought, letting out a smile to himself.

"Then one day, the Great Lynx King, Draylanor the Third, died in a coup made by his son, Draylanor the Fourth. Unlike his father, this Draylanor was cruel, manipulative, and wanted nothing more then the other species's realms. He issued a royal order that all Lynxes in foreign lands be recalled back home, and there he began the creation of a massive army. This army was well trained, bred from the Lynx Warrior Clans of Old. He recruited practitioners of Dark Magic to join in his army as well.
When our King realized what was happening... it was too late. Draylanor's army hammered into our best troops in a surprise attack that took a port city hostage. We tried to negotiate with the new king, we offered him a substantial payment in gold for the release of the city. Miraculously he agreed, the gold was delivered to him, and he freed the city. However kindness didn't satisfy his plans, so he ordered his army to burn the city to the ground, and kill any inhabitants that tried to flee.

The kids gasped at the horror of the Lynx King's wrath, and the color from Felodran's face drained. As the old man took a drink from a cup of water and continued his tale.

"Wherever we met the Lynx army, they scattered us easily, and soon the heartland of our great realm was in danger. Those murderous reptiles appealed to Draylanor's lust for conquest, for an alliance to help dismantle our empire. He agreed, and their combined forces cut through our entire empire like a scythe through wheat. Many people were enslaved and forced to work to gather resources for the newly crowned Emperor. Those who resisted, either died or fled to try and establish a new home.
Those reptiles were content to sit on the scraps given by the Emperor, but soon they were betrayed by the man who gave them everything. They were even easier to topple then us."

"It wasn't long before every creature, from the homelands of the reptiles, and our great country, was under the rule of Emperor Tyrannus, his new self appointed title. He ruled the land for a good twenty years, suppressing whatever minor revolts spurned up, but at the climax of those years, came a new threat to his Empire. A coalition reptile, mammal resistance came out of apparent nowhere with an army to rival the Emperors. At first he was dismissive of the rebels, but as he lost territory he started to take them seriously, but it was too little too late. The Coalition faced the Emperor personally, in his feared Dread Armor, on the field of Bliss, the gateway to our lands, and to his homelands. The battle was fierce, with the Emperor personally cutting down hundreds of men with ease, but when it came time to face the resistance's leaders, he was felled by them, and with his death, came the same of his Empire. His corpse was quickly taken by his troops and ferried to his ancestral tomb, and he was sealed in a coffin, armor, weapon, everything.
Without him, the army fell apart, it was still loyal to him, but no other leader was as competent as he was. The coalition reached an agreement that restored the lands to their previous owners, and a mammal border guard was placed on the edge of the Lynx homeland, to suppress any other future warlords. The Lynx people are still vehemently loyal to his cause, and what few lynxes that are seen here are usually suspected of scouting out a new land to conquer."
The kids were awed by the epic tale the old man said, but Felodran was terrified.
"Crap! Crap! Crap! Ok deep breathing, deep breathing, try not to be seen, act like you dont want to enslave everyone"

The canine girl punched the dragon in the gut pretty hard getting his attention. "Did you not just hear what I said? Reptiles have shaky relations here! Drawing attention to yourself is just going to get the guard after you. I mean, not if you're civil." She put her head down, "but if you're running around breaking people's arms, you can guarantee  yourself a spot in jail or worse. Also, there's not any magics allowed in Atlas, it's a neutral ground." She seemed annoyed just standing there with the two. "I give people a chance, especially.. When they look like you." She pointed at their rags, "But I'm not helping people if they're just out to prove they can muscle people around. The last thing we need is a war on a neutral ground." she growled, disappearing into the crowd.

Romei looked to the dragon, irritated. "Vhat did you do zhat for?" he huffed. He began to walk off in no particular direction, because in truth, she wanted to strangle the dragon. She was getting information about where she was, and that one act led to her source leaving. She did think it odd that the other reptile had no idea where he was, either, and after a few moments of thinking, she wondered if she was the only one in her situation. "Wunderbar." he scowled, finding a spot to sit on the fountain. Here she was in a world she didn't know, in her character Romei's body, and nothing to go off of. She felt like her head was going to explode as she ignored the looks she was getting from the townsfolk in her new form.

He just looked up at the wolf in confusion. That cat was going to kill me... and I'm still- The lion from before kicked him in the side, sending Chrono sprawling at the floor as he pulled out the knife he had planned to use when he ran into the dragon in the first place. "I knew her father... he got done in by a freak that looked alot like you..." "Seriously, I didn't mean to use magic, it just happened!!" "Just shut up and die..." the lion snarled as he tried to stab him.

However, this only made things worse as the instant the blade cut into the flesh, he brought his right leg up and forgot about the talons on his feet as he kicked the lion off. While it worked in getting the lion off, there was two cuts that left the lion's midsection bleeding. Chrono feared making the same bad impression and didn't bother to pull out the dagger that was still stuck in him as he went over to the cat and and tried to cut off parts of his shirt to at least cover up the bleeding. He suddenly stopped cutting the shirt as he remembered the flame on his hand. He tried to bring back the image and cause the same effect again, which luckily worked as his right talon lit up. He grabbed what flesh hadn't been torn off, and put it back over the open wound while he pressed his claw at the seperation, and cauterized the cuts so the bleeding stopped.

But apparently his successful attempt at saving the lion's life was overlooked as the rest of the townsfolk only looked at him with hate and fear since his entire midsection was covered in the blood he got away from the unconsious lion. He apparently didn't notice the mood as he looked around him. "What are you doing just standing there, I n- #%#@ this. Nobody is going to help me now..." he said in despair as he went back to the lion and grunted as he lifted him up, and looked around for an inn until he finally noticed the dagger in his side. He staggered over to the chameleon and pulled the dagger out, dipping the bloody end into the fountain before putting the dagger next to him. "Sorry for the trouble I might have just caused you, Romei; I'll be at the inn if my fate doesn't end here" he said rather carefree as he carried the lion to the inn, his vision starting to darken at the corners...

"Speak now, or forever hold your peace." Mordecai demanded, tightening his grip on the thief. He needed to know what all the scaley knew before releasing him or 'removing' him.

"I know you are not from here, He-Who-Is-Too-Arrogant-To-See." The reptile taunted, his dry laugh much similar to the sound of nails on a chalkboard.
"I also know you are not the only one from your world here. You would be well to find them and seek out who brought you here..."

"And who would that be? I want a straight answer, you worthless piece of sh--!" Mordecai angrily began, before cutting himself off. It would do him no good to get upset. It would only draw attention to himself and cause him to lose control.
"Tell me, and I'll spare you to continue this insignificant life of petty crime."

The reptile suddenly burst into laughter that sent a shiver though the hybrid's spirit, before swiping at Mordecai with something from underneath his robe, leaving three shallowly bleeding gashes on the hybrid's forearm.
"You. Spare me?! That's amusing. But you interest me, child. Find me again, and you shall have the truth you crave so dearly."

Mordecai snarled in a combination of embarrassment at not predicting his strike and contempt for the reptile, just in time to see the scaley's wicked 'mouth' grin as he disappeared into the air, leaving only the robe and other knife behind.

"Dammit..." He cursed as he kicked the remains, before picking up the knife and robe. They both carried the thief's scent, but that was to Mordecai's advantage. As he slipped on the shabby robe, he put the knives in the pocket-like areas within the inside and pulled the hood up until it veiled his eyes from sight.

The next time the scaled robber's scent permeated the air, Mordecai would be waiting. He would track him. He would torture him. And he would kill him for playing this twisted little game of cat-and-mouse. And this was a promise the hybrid eagerly awaited fulfilling, as he took once last glance to where the robber stood last, before heading back to the square to search for the others like himself.

Reno continued walking away from the wolf looking guy still thinking he was considering himself for lunch. And realizing he was in a town full of wolves and foxes a like. All of which ate rabbits. And Reno was a rabbit..."Oh man...Oh man...Gotta get out of 'ere! Find somewhere to go...Somewhere to go!" He looked around until he saw the scaly people talking amongst each other. He decided to sneak over and hang around, failing to act casual.

Felodran started to notice that the dragon looking fellow walk like a drunkward and no one seemed to help him. Of course due to the little history lesson he got, he knew why no one would help him.

Glancing around, he swiped an old looking quilt from a vendor whi wasn't looking and wrapped it around himself, shading him from most people's eyes and making them think he ws some kind of monk. He walked over the Dragon carrying a lion person and escorted them into the Inn and set him down on a bench

"The name's Felodran friend, please rest because it looked like you would've fallen over soon" he spoke as he glanced over his shoulders in  double take to make sure he wasn't about to get assassinated.

Things seemed to fly by as the draconic creature approached him, and then was swept away by the feline, followed by people gathering around the injured lion. He just sat there, observing, sitting on the fountain. What more could she do at this point? She had no clue where to go now. It wasn't long until a few of the guard swept in, snaking through the crowd until they could  push through enough to get to the lion. While his wounds had been seared shut, they still wrinkled their faces with disgust. They were timber wolves from what she could tell, and they weren't very pleased with the outcome of the appearance of reptiles. "Seems like even they can't appreciate the peace of a neutral ground, brother," one of the wolves snarled. He was wearing white-gold armor, and seemed to take on the appearance of a holy paladin. He was definitely able to hold himself up in battle, or so it would appear. The other timber wolf from the guard just nodded solemnly, staring blankly at the big cat's woes, his grip tightening on the broadsword in hand. The initial speaker put a paw out as if to hold his brother back, then set his eyes on Romei.

Confused, the chameleon just continued to sit there. She didn't do anything wrong, so why should she run? Romei's knees were pulled up to his chest, his arms resting on top of them as he sat. It was then that a certain rabbit caught her eye. "Reno?" he uttered, almost doing a double take. "I could swear that's him." He rubbed his head. "Looks just like that Cuddle's guy's character from the Fur-Al High roleplay.. Just.. Less dressier."

He could barely register anything as his vision grew darker. He started to think over his entire situation since he got here. "It would be great if you stop this ble-" Chrono's body wasn't healing like it was supposed to as he coughed up blood; the wounds should have healed up by now, but he was still feeling like he was loosing blood, which is odd since this is his first time getting wounded seriously. The only thing thats nips any hope in the bud, is the fact that I'll probably die before anyone lifts a finger to help or heal me... he mused before his vision finally blacked out, entering a near-coma state of mind.

After setting the dragon down on the bench and making sure he wouldn't bleed too much anymore, Felodran then made his way towards the gathering crowd, and watched as big timber wolf soldiers approached an unconscious lion.

"Better not disrupt the business of already battle ready soldiers... time to lay low." He thought, but then a double take led his eyes to where the soldiers were looking, and saw another reptile, guards staring at a reptile couldn't be a good thing, but a Lynx in town would be even worse.

"Would my appearance cause a public riot or public hanging, neither sounds appealing." Felodran darkly mused to himself.

By the time Mordecai had returned, he realized from the appearance of guards and a wounded feline that he had missed something important. But there were more important things on his mind at the moment, pushing the tense scene out of his mind as he began to casually peruse the square in search of recognizable faces. Maybe he wasn't the only one of his friends that had been dragged out of his world and into this alternate reality. After minutes of glancing at faces from underneath the hooded ratty robe he had gathered from the thief, he finally locked on to a semi-familiar face: Romei.

The chameleon seemed lost in thought, resting on the edge of the town square's fountain, all the while the two guards stood quietly observing. It seemed like it was too much of a risk for himself and for Romei if he approached now.

"Fantastic.." Even Mordecai knew should he arouse the suspicion of the guards, he had a very low probability of surviving much longer than a few minutes. Even still, adrenaline pumped through the wolf-lion's veins. Standing there watching was almost painstaking as he melded in with the rest of the townsfolk, wondering was going to happen now.

Kayle sighed and leaned against the wall.  So much for being the hero.  Suddenly, a new smell assaulted his canine nose.  It was blood.  His head whipped back and forth, homing in on the acrid smell.  Without conscious thought, he began walking toward the scent, and found what appeared to be the aftermath of a fight.  He kept following the scent into a nearby inn, where a dragon was sitting on a bench.  The reptile's breathing sounded funny, and he looked like he was still bleeding.  A strange feeling entered the folf's mind.

I can fix this.  I can fix this.  I can fix this.

The folf stepped forward and his paws began to glow.  He had no idea what he was doing, but as the light hit the dragon, the creature began to breath easier, and his wounds began to knit back together.  After a minute or so, the light vanished, and the folf suddenly felt dizzy.  He collapsed, and the world went black.

As Reno went over to the fountain, he saw Romei. "Is that...? No...Can't be...I'm seein' things...I'm just scared, my mind's playin' tricks on me. Fakin' images and the like...A mirage. that's it. Yeah, a mirage. Perfectly logical. Let's just go sit down on that fountain and think...that'll do me some good. I can think on this whole mess." He finally got to the fountain, sat down and rested his chin on his hands. "Okay...Thinkin' time...Let's see...I went to sleep last night. That I remember. I woke up in some room in the body of Reno, my fursona. Now why would that 'appen? Hmm...Maybe Reno is real and I'm in 'is 'ead controlin' 'im in some alternate reality where furries exist. All our imaginations come to life and live in this world! If so I could-!" Reno looked into his hand and thought long and hard trying to imagine a Mac10 appearing in it. Until he gave up with a sigh. "Okay...Plan one down...Hmm...Let's think more on Reno...Okay...I'm kinda spy-...ee...ish...What ever. I'm shy, smart...Funny...Hmm...Well I 'ave moves...I got outta that situation with that mugger...Well..Kinda...Doesn't seem like the modern kind of world either...Sticks 'n' stones it seems...That means no Mac10...So...What would replace that 'ere? Bow? Crossbow? I unno...maybe a neat wrist crossbow! Could be concealed and it's still ranged. That sounds cool! Hmm...What about gadgets...Bombs...Bombs...Alchemist maybe? Hmm...Is there even an alchemist around? And my hidden boot knife...I guess a dagger? Huh...What would that make me in this dungeons 'n' dragons realm? Assassin? Thief? Ranger? Huh...I can be an As-thei-ger! A super cool Assassin thief ranger hybrid! OR A NINJA!! That'd be awesome!"

Her train of thought was broken when they approached him, blocking his view, causing him to refocus on the two wolven guards in front of him. One growled, eager to spill blood while the other snapped at him, "Brother, I shouldn't have to say again that this is a NEUTRAL ground. We may be the guard here, but we can't spill blood for sake of keeping the peace."

Romei cocked his head, noticing the rabbit sitting near her, but also focusing on the wolves. She was starting to get used to focusing on two different things in this realm. "Vhat can I do you for, freunds?" he asked.

The seemingly older and more responsible wolf looked him over. "Well, this is obviously not your work," he stated in a matter-of-factly tone. "But I don't like how you show up after so many years of not being here, and trouble is already starting." He stepped closer to the chameleon, to the point that his chest armor almost pressed against Romei's face, his brother behind him brandishing his large broadsword with a wide grin. "We're not too fond of you. And you know that already, I'm sure. You may be tucked away nice and safe here, but you'll have to leave sometime. You and your species." The older brother sniffed the air, then added, coming eye to eye with the reptilian figure, "And your other dragon friend... Well, we can warrant for his arrest on this account once he leaves. He better not show his face outside of here." With that, he turned and began to help the lion to a doctor, the other brother staying behind just long enough to shove the chameleon into the fountain before his exit.

Armel had been sitting at the bar for a while before he noticed the dragon. He wasn't doing well at all, not until a smaller fella came in and helped. And even then it wasn't long until he was out, too. The bear observed them, seeing that no one had really taken notice that the two had gone down so easily, and quickly. He looked up to the bar keep, waving the otter down. "Oi, Arc, know these two?"

The otter shook his head, "No clue there, Armel, never seen 'em around until today." He continued wiping down the glass he had in his paw with a shrug. "I haven't even seen them in town before, they look like traveling hobos without decent clothes like that."

The bear grunted. He had an idea brewing in his head. It had been long since he had help around the shop, and he still had rooms from the apprentices. "Arc," he mumbled, "I'm getting too old for this." He left his drink at the table, instead scooping one of the unconscious strangers into his hands and over his shoulder. "I'd take 'em both, but I only need one." He had of course, picked the one that looked stronger, the dragon. He left the other there on the ground. "Arc, make sure he knows where he's going, whatever he's doing. 'Elp him out, yanno?" he motioned to the hybrid in the floor.

With that, he set out through the doors, and a few shops down, returned to what he considered home. He ignored the various weaponry that he needed to work on, focusing on getting the dragon into a room until he woke.

He started to slip out of the coma-like state shortly after the healing, but he couldn't regain his vision for some unknown reason. He tried moving his arms, but he couldn't tell where he was as his entire body seemed to be numb, except for his tongue. Either I'm dead, undead, or in the least favorable of situations was what he gathered as he slowly got up and felt his face for any coverings; he started to dread the simpleness of his 'blindness' as he pried open his own eyelids and could finally see. Among my top personal 'fails', not being able to open my own eyelids should be at least in the top five, if not top three He mused as he looked around the room, not even noticing if he was on a bed, or on the floor.

Kayle woke up and sat up on the bench he'd passed out on.  The dragon was gone.  The folf looked down at his paws.  "How... did I do that?  I healed him, but how?"  The canid clenched his fists.  Well, that power suited him just fine.  He'd never liked hurting other people, unless it was necessary to protect himself or his friends.  The folf grinned to himself.  Well, that was his vow, then.  He would use his fists and his healing to protect himself and his friends in this world.  Then, he sighed and a feeling of deep lonliness overwhelmed him.  He had no friends here.  He didn't know anyone, and they didn't know him.  He was alone.  The folf sighed and held back tears.  He had to pull himself together.

Kayle stood up and walked to the counter of the inn and faced the inn keeper.  "Um...  I don't know where I am, but I need food and clothes.  I'd be willing to work for it.  I can heal people... I think... and I'm strong, and if you don't have any work for me, is ther anywhere else I can make some money or get some help?"

A commotion coming from outside seemed to wake Riku from his slumber. His body felt heavy, as if somebody was pressing down on it. His feet seemed to be brushing against the floor as well.
"bleedin' chavs making noise this early...I thought I had double glazing, ugh I need a smoke.."
Opening his eyes slowly, the sleep cracked slightly, making him bring up his hands to his face to rub the remainder off. Feeling the fuzziness of his paws, his first thought was "Why am I wearing gloves in bed?"Bringing his paws back down, he blinked a few times noticing the dampened grey ceiling, cracked and bare. Sitting up in the bed, he realised he was massive, just examining his body, he felt muscles with a somewhat detached interest.
"Okay...Well I think I've finally gone insane, I knew I was pushing myself too hard at work, ah well..." He said rather quietly to himself. Though his voice sounded more like a raspy grumble than anything else, it took him by surprise. Pushing himself off the bed seemed like a great effort, as if he was pushing a heavy cabinet.

Standing up fully, his head almost reached the top of the room, though he did clear it by a few inches. Not even bothering to look in the mirror, he went for the door, almost falling over due to his tail unbalancing him. "This must be a whole new level of crazy". Regaining his balance, he opened the door and walked out into the street, although his immediate path was blocked by a substantial pile of rubble. Scrambling over the rocks, he had to walk through a few alleyways, looking around he was still in a sort of daze state, a soft clinking sound came to his ears. It started to grow quite annoying until he realised it was his chains.

Taking in the scenery, Riku deciphered that it was some sort of medieval setting, or something along those lines. Finally coming out of the alleyway, he noticed a big square with a fountain in the middle. Something was happening in the middle but he ignored it, assuming it was some street performers or something. Taking a few steps forward, he realised he towered at least three foot above anyone else in the square, and some people were beginning to take notice and stare.

Riku's mindset began to take over, and he became paranoid, noticing the guards brandished weapons, he edged to the side, although it was very difficult for him to remain hidden. Being a 8 and a half foot tall blackened beast.

"Well...joining the guard is out." Mordecai laughed darkly, though there was no humor as he watched the wolf who shoved Romei into the fountain rejoin the other, who was aiding the wounded lion to seek medical attention. Whatever medical attention that existed in this medieval fantasy. He let the adrenaline slowly seep out of his system, until his combat instincts were simmering, before treading lightly over the square to check on the condition of the chameleon.

As soon as he was within distance, he knew his eyes hadn't been playing him for a fool. It was indeed Romei, sitting in the fountain with an unreadable expression.

"Need a hand...?" The hybrid asked, holding his voice in check to make sure none of the others in the square could note any differences between his manner of speaking and their own. Mordecai then extended an open paw to the soggy scaley, absentmindedly glancing over the square before he caught a glimpse of a large creature moving in his peripheral vision.
"It seems like we've drawn enough action to this town. And from the reactions of her townsfolk, I don't believe this city is used to such."

Felodran saw the mistreatment of the lizard being shoved into the foutain, and then saw a hybrid looking creature go over to the lizard and help it out. He decided it was time to get closer and at least introduce himself, because if the hybrid could deal with a reptile in such a kind way, maybe there was hope for him as well.
He walked out the front door of the inn, pulling the cloak he stole over his head and glanced both ways, half expecting a speeding car to try and run him own. Jogging over, he pulled the cloak from his face and bpwed before the pair.

"Greetings friend, Felodran at your service"[/color
To the others, he seemed to be a very sociable chap, but on the inside, Felodran knew he wasn't the best social person in any situation.

Reno was still sitting there thinking when the guards shoved Romei into the fountain. It was clear to him that he wasn't a figment of his imagination. Figments of his imagination didn't normally get assaulted by guards, nor did they attract so much attention. He was about to go help him when a wolf lion looking guy came over and beat him to it. And then...Felodran waltzed over and introduced himself. Felodran was another name he recognized from "reality" as he was now referring the life he once led to. Reno was still nervous, but his craving to know what was going on drove him to stand up, walk over to the possible predator(Mordecai) and help him help Romei. "This might sound weird to you all...But I think I know...*Looks at Mordecai*...Most of you...At least in reality. 'ere...Well I still know you. Recognize you. I guess you've arrived 'ere this mornin' by wakin' up somewhere you shouldn't 'ave. For all who don't know me, I'm Reno. At least 'ere I am..."

The chameleon took the lion hybrid's hand, pulling himself up and releasing a string of expletives under his breath. "Ze nerve of zhose knighted clowns." He growled. "If I vasn't  ze absolute lowest form in zhis place, I'd -- I'd --" His frustration became too great to finish his sentence, but he was in fact right. Unlike the others clothed in rags that seemed to attract to him like flies, he was completely nude. Thankfully he was a lizard, so it wasn't really out of the ordinary, but she couldn't help feel somewhat embarrassed on the inside. He couldn't agree more with the lion hybrid's statement. "Vell, I can tell you, zhey might not be used to me, but I'm not eizher, so zhat makes us even." It wasn't too long before two other people joined their little group standing there. Her suspicions were confirmed with Reno, and as for the Lynx, she couldn't place him. The chameleon's eyes darted wildly, not so sure that they should be discussing this here in the middle of town square. The hooded lion hybrid was right, they had attracted too much attention as it was.

"That man!" a voice called out over the crowd. Romei noticed the armadillo was pointing at the lynx who had just introduced himself as Felodran, and explaining to a red fox. "He grabbed that hood from where it was hanging at my spot! He's a theif!" The fox growled, grabbing a stick.

"We don't like thieves here." he said, heading straight for the lynx. "Thankfully, the guard lets we vendors handle thieves how WE want."

----

Armel had been downstairs hammering some armor out, stopping to wipe his brow. His back hurt, and he decided it was time to take a break and check up on the fellow he'd found at the bar. Before he ventured up the stairs, he closed and locked the doors at his shop to prevent thieves from robbing him blind while he was upstairs. That's another reason why the dragon would be handy, he thought to himself, If I get tired and need a break, he can watch the shop until I return. Without knocking, he pushed the door open to see the dragon was in fact, stirring. He smiled and let out a hearty laugh. "Didja 'ave too much at the bar or was it just a bad day for ya?"

He grunted as a first response, trying to see who it was at the door before shaking his head and actually regaining his sense of touch. "Its been a bad day since I woke up, what happened to the lion that stabbed me?" He asked while climbing out of the bed and taking only the shirt that the bear might have put there, and slipping it on, all three eyes open and looking about. He wasn't sure if he had the ability to heal himself yet, but he definatly didn't get better on his own. For some reason, he couldn't tell he had gloves on until he looked at his hand, and even then he had to make sure that they were really there. He could hardly tell if this body was different from what he used to have, at the moment he felt like Chrono was his real name...

Felodran's smile faded as the vendor swung the stick at him. He just barely ducked, and unwrapped his cloak, knowing his disguise was useless now, the vendr took another swing and Felodran sidestepped it, and wrapped the cloak tightly over the man to pin him.

Then Felodran stated runing away from the other Vendor and his friend who was still stuck.
"Gotta lay low.... not the butcher shop, AHA! BAKERY!" he thought as he opened the door to the bakery and ducked inside, hoping to remain unseen and unheard.

Riku relaxed a little when he saw that the guards had left, noticing one stay behind and push the chameleon male into the fountain. Staying back, he found himself edged up against a building when the angry traders came and started shouting something at the cloaked one. Seeing the attack, and moving out of the way when he darted into the building that Riku was unintentionally pressed up against. Not really knowing what else to do, he blocked the traders path to the door, looking at them intently.

In his mind was a battle. On one side he wanted to help the Lynx get away from the angry traders, but on another side he didn't want to get involved, as he knew whenever he tried to help it normally meant him being hated by everyone. Riku's mindset took over however, but it was already too late for him to not get involved. So he stood his ground, albeit with a slightly confused look on his muzzle, though he still had a snarl from the scar.

Reno was a little sore that Romei took Mordecai's help over his, but he didn't show it. Another surprise was Felodran being caught stealing, but it happened before...At least back in reality. "So...Anyone got any ideas on what's goin' on? Or what we should even do...?" Reno stepped back a little from Mordecai, assuming he would eat him given the chance. And his curiosity was escaping him, now he was starting to get shy.

Mordecai allowed an amused smirk to crack his features, before pulling the hood of the robe to where it pulled his ears underneath, as well as trying to shade the rest of his face from sight of any curious townsfolk who were coming closer due to more attention. So it seemed he had some sort of influence. Even if it wasn't exactly the kind to make friends.

"Well...I suppose we should pool any info we have before making any assumptions. As for what to do? I'd leave our friend in the capable hands of him over there." The hybrid said as he lightly gestured toward the creature near the door, trying to keep anyone other than the two near him from seeing or hearing. He was getting edgy from all the attention, and that was never good in a strange world.
"Besides, I doubt we'd do much good considering more people would join in if we tried. I vote we find a quiet spot and try to collect our thoughts. Any takers?"

As he awaited a reply, he internally probed his mind for Mordecai's sentiment. He knew should any combat occur, he would needs it's help.

The otter looked at the hybrid blankly. "I don't exactly have any work for you here. But maybe someone in the square does. Might want to go out and ask them." He shook his head. "But you can't really stay here unless you buy a drink. Armel took your dragon friend, which keeps me from having to throw out a loiterer." He gave the hybrid a stern look.

-----

"Er-- Lion?" Armel seemed surprised. "I dunno. I suppose 'e's gone about 'is way." The bear crossed his arms somewhat firmly. "T'would explain why you weren't exactly in good shape when I found ya." The bear looked him over, "But it seems yer fine now. Which brings me to a discussion of business with ya. I've been looking for someone to help keep th' shop up with me." He smiled. "In exchange, you'll get warm food, a roof over yer head, clothes. Maybe somethin' more if yer responsible enough."

-----

The vixen heard the door fly open, and shut right after, hurriedly in fact. When she glanced over her counter, she noticed that it didn't seem anyone was there. She cocked her head curiously, finding her paw around a rolling pin, in position to knock out a thief if need be. She softly began to walk near one of her displays where cakes, bread, and other baked products rested on a table draped in cloth. She peeked around it slowly, only to spot a Lynx, who had not spotted her yet. "What do you want?" she barked, getting ready to use her rolling pin if need be. "Ain't like a customer to be hidin'!"

-----

"I agree vhis zhis big cat." Romei said firmly. "Ve don't need to draw much attention to ourselves. I zhink ve should find a quiet alleyway or go back into vone of zhose rooms at zhat empty Inn over zhere." He pointed to where he had come from.

Chrono scratched his head at the idea, but remembered what he did to the lion for stabbing him. "Um I'm not exactly sure if its safe for me to be here. A wolf girl said if reptiles acted 'hostile', things would not turn out well, even if it is self-defense..." He suddenly felt his stomach growl, and his face had a twinge of embarrassment. "Nevermind, I-I guess I could stay for awhile, if the food is good..."

Reno quieted down, trying to not draw any attention. When Romei spoke he just agreed. Other than that he was quiet. He looked at Mordecai still cautiously, he didn't know him here or in reality. Then he looked at Romei. "That's Rigor...Hmm...Do Chameleons eat rabbits? I doubt it...Rigor wouldn't eat me...right? Humm...That must be her friend then...Maybe he won't eat me. At least tha- WHAT IS THAT THING?!" As Reno thought he eventually saw Riku in the distance. Which wasn't hard even at the distance he was at...He is very large...

Kayle's ears drooped at the inn keeper's response.  "Well, thank you anyway, sir."  The folf left the inn and stepped out into the square.  Some other people were gathering in the center of the square, including the rabbit he'd tried to help earlier.  Across the plaza was... Who the heck is THAT?  It was a wolf, a HUGE wolf.  The canid had to be eight feet tall.

Kayle looked around again.  Well, the oversized wolf looked to be in the same boat he was, so... Maybe he would be a little friendlier than some of the others around here.  The folf strolled across the open area to the wolf.  He tentatively extended a paw.  "Um... Hi... I'm Kayle."  Kayle felt a tremor of nervousness run through him.  Man, as strong as I am, this guy could probably break me in half, if I tick him off.

Riku grunted apprehensively as he saw a figure gesture towards him over at the fountain. He began to think hard on what his next move could be, He got himself involved, which seemed to have worked out for the best. Although he also realised that he couldn't stay in front of the door forever. His thoughts were interrupted by a small creature ( everyone is small to him) speaking to him and offering his paw to him. Looking down at Kayle, he ignored the paw and simply asked "..Why is one such as you speaking to me?..." His voice sounded like boulders being ground together as Riku took over.

Moving forward and bringing his arm down, he picked up the folf in one swift movement, holding him in midair with apparent ease "...I could crush you if I wished, end your life.." The deceased wolf held him there for a long time, looking deep into his eyes before letting him go "You pose hardly any threat...I...I am Riku, what is it you wish?" If he breathed, he would've been panting heavily as the fatigue starts to set in. He needed sustenance.

Felodran nearly lept out of his skin as he saw the bakery's owner armed with a rolling pin. Weighing his options, he didn't want to commit a murder or get beat, but then angry vendors wasn't a fun option either. He swallowed hard and stood up.

"I know what this looks like... but... please, I know I'm a Lynx but I just need to lay low..." he stopped this train of thought in medieval world, probably wouldn't understand that modern phrase.

"I mean i need refuge... there's a small troupe of angry vendors out for my blood... please, please madam please do not force me out, please do not call the guards. I promise I will explain what's going on as soon as I can."

Mordecai glanced over at the large creature after he caught the rabbit's shocked stare, just in time to catch the other hybrid's approach to the creature. Remarkably, he felt hardly any reaction to that, save a small bit of grim amusement. Mordecai's sentiment was overwriting him here in this world.

"Then lets go ahead before something else goes awry.." The lion-wolf hybrid muttered, keeping casual as he strode through the people of the square toward the alleyway connections where he tracked the thief. It was quiet there, and much more isolated than the square. But as he walked by the wolf-creature and the hybrid, he gave them a sideways glance. Should they be...normal townsfolk, there wouldn't be much to it. But should they be one of them, maybe they would catch on, and come find them when the dragon and the lynx return.

Again the bear chuckled, "Aye reptiles can be just as evil or nice as any other creature on the planet. That doesn't concern me. This is a neutral ground; there won't be trouble here. Do you want th' job or not?" He was tired of playing around, if this dragon wanted the job he ought to say so or forever hold his peace about it. "Course, if ya don't want it, I'll be needin' those clothes back for whoever I offer th' job to next.

----

The vixen simply stared at the lynx, perplexed. "And what's in it for me if I say yes?" She wasn't stupid. She wasn't about to let someone in her shop and her spare room meant for her apprentices just to rob her blind. "I need a better reason than I don't understand. If I give you refuge, what do I get in exchange?" Her hands rested on her hips, the rolling pin still in one of them, a stern look on her maw as she waited for an answer. "I may look naive but I can tell you, sir, I am not, and I'll not be having you coming in here with a front and taking all my goods or my gold."

----

Romei simply followed the lion wolf. There wasn't any use in questioning it, she figured. What's the worst that could happen? She wondered if this was like a dream, and if something were to happen to her if she would wake up. When everyone's eyes had squandered upon the large canine, she merely continued on. He wasn't much of a surprise thanks to her new advantages concerning her sight.

Chrono did indeed think about it, then thinking about the possibility of trouble being delt with if he had some form of weapon for self-defense. "I can't see why not; how soon will I be making a weapon?" He said while flicking his talons, sometimes giving off a tongue of flame between the talons as he flexed them flat. It only took him a few moments before he could make a floating fire-ball, but it paled in comparison to what he knew this body was capable of...

Reno followed Romei and Mordecai where they went, still looking at the large wolf to their side. He watched as he picked up that other wolf looking guy, he just figured he was going to be eaten. Which didn't bother Reno, after all it was just one person who was going to eat him, get eaten by another person. As they passed closer by the wold Reno had to look up at him, now thinking " 'oly crap, I'm like a cheese-it to this guy!!" He looked away trying to act natural, hopefully not drawing attention to himself. Getting eaten was not on his to do list.

Kayle gulped as the larger canid lifted him, and then set him back down.  The folf let out a relieved breath.  "Well, I just wanted to say hi, and to see if perhaps we could help each other."  The folf's stomach growled.  "And I'm hungry, and it looks like you are, too.  And, if my hunch is right, you probably woke up in a room that's not yours this morning.  Am I right?  Why don't we help each other for a bit?"

Felodran took a deep breath and slowly stood up.

"Listen Miss, I'll do any oddjobs you need doing, and if I steal, promise me you'd immediately turn me into the guards, you have my word I will not resist"

Felodran knew in the back of his mind that promising his word when he was a lnx meant next to nothing, considering how the Lynx empire betrayed the reptiles so easily.. He could only hope that this woman would trust him on his word and not beat him down with a rolling pin.

Once he reach the alleyways, he followed the scent of the scaled thief from before until he reached the point where he disappeared. He crouched down, brushing the ground where he stood not too long ago, before speaking up to address the two that had came with him.

"This is where I chased the thief that addressed you earlier." The hybrid glanced back to look at the rabbit before returning his gaze to the ground, falling back into a distance stare.
"I approached him with the knife he dropped before, and held it at his throat in order to try an ascertain whether he could be of any use. And in return I received a cryptic message and this."

The lion-wolf pulled the sleeve of the tattered robe back to show the wound where the scaley had struck out. By now the wound had healed over some, but its distinct marking was still visible on Mordecai's forearm. At the sight he frowned, the memory of screwing up still haunting, but not as painful as before.

"He told me I wasn't the only one like me. And-" But he cut himself off, deciding that the last part wasn't necessary to tell yet. Or...maybe at all. The scaley's interest in him might make them suspicious. And he needed no more difficulties than necessary.
"And then he disappeared, leaving this robe I'm wearing and his other knife. I held on to them as it was better than leaving weaponless in a world like this."

The hybrid stood up slowly, before turning around to glance at the two, using the silence to judge their reaction and if they trusted his words.
"And that's all I know besides I woke up this morning in my current state, with no explanation."

"Oy, it'll be a while before ye learn about making weapons. First you gotta learn other things." He scratched his head. "An' I can't teach ye to make a weapon until I see how you act in town. 'Opefully this will be yer first and last incident that we need to worry about." He brushed his hands off, as if settling a decision. "Hmmm." Armel dug out a pouch that contained some coins. "Look, we'll need to eat tonight," he dropped the pouch in the dragon's hand. "Go to the baker's and get a loaf of fresh bread. Then go to the butcher's and get some meat. Tell 'em Armel sent ya, then come straight back." This would be the dragon's first test, he decided. If he ran off, it was alright, it wasn't all of his money, just a small amount, and if he stole some, the bear would know because he knew how much was in it and how much the bread and meat would cost all together; 5 gold.

-----

"Fine." The Vixen said after a long moment of thinking. "Now look here. I have a room upstairs. One is mine, the other is empty. You can sleep there, though, I warn you, it's scarcely furnished. There's a mattress, that's about it." She crossed her arms looking the Lynx over, "And look in the closet. Some of my old husband's clothes might fit you. I won't have you working at my shop looking like THAT." She pointed her rolling pin at his rags with a sneer.

-----

"Mmm." Romei listened carefully, hanging onto each word the lion said. "Vell, I can certainly tell you I vas not a chameleon vhen I vent to sleep. I was only like zhis after I woke up... I vent to bed somewhere else entirely." He crossed his arms. The lion seemed familiar for some reason, but he couldn't place it. He looked to the rabbit, "And, vell, this is reminding me of one of my friend's characters... Even has zhe same name."

Reno gave a nervous chuckle and nod when Romei said he had the same name as a character she knew. "Yeah, I'm Sergentcuddles. At least that's my name online. I'm in one of my characters. Reno, though it's kinda weird...Reno isn't really meant for this Dungeons and Dragons realm we're in. But this is all so weird...Being furry and all that...It's awesome, It's like what I've always dreamed!" He quieted down again, feeling himself getting talkative again. He looked at Mordecai, a little cautious, he didn't seem...Right.

Maybe I should have just let the lion die if this is the reaction I get; well, at least I can throw fireballs at attackers... he thought as he made his way to the bakery, knowing to pick up the perishables last from the numerous times his family forced him to go shopping with them.

Mordecai listened as the two spoke, merely observing the two. It seemed an ominous sign that he only recognized one of the two he met so far, indicating that may be as far into familiarity he would get. But it mattered little, considering here everything was operating on a different rhythm than back home.

"Either of you have any suggestions on what we should do next? I mean, I'm all for acclimating to our new lives here, but we could do with a little better inventory." He said with a hint of dry sarcasm as he pointed at the rag clothing they all wore, his just underneath the well-worn robe.
"And I suppose we could do with a place to live too..."

Felodran nodded to the Vixen and climbed up the stairs and went into his new chambers. Spartan by design, with only the necessities, no luxuries.
"Something to get used to I suppose" he said out loud as he opened up the closet, and it was like a child at a toy store with the selection of awesome looking (in his humble opinion) medieval clothing.

He glanced down at his current attire and decided the pants just needed a good washing and discarded his ragged shirt. Searching he came out with a form fitting jacket like thing with a hood. on it. Unfortunately there were no puffy pants or boots so he could not pretend to be Ezio the Super Assassin, but at least he found a way to hide his identity from any crazy people.

The vixen watched the Lynx disappear up the stairs, she took her rolling pin and sat it back on the table behind the counter. She went back to kneading the dough that she had left when the intruder had come in. She then put it on a slab and stuck it in the furnace to bake for a bit, deciding she should tidy up in case of customers.

---

Romei shrugged. "Zhis all seems like a big video game to me.. Where do you usually start in video games? I mean, you usually don't start in zhe streets, usually somezhing happens to set events into motion." He facepalmed at the recognition of his own words. Great, they ask for advice and you reference video games. "Also something doesn't seem right to me. Romei isn't exactly my fursona.. He's.. Just a character, if you know vhat I mean. Recently I'd been having trouble making a representation of myself.. But I did come up vith something." He scratched his chin again. "I'm at a loss. Chrono opened the door to the bakery, having no idea could have happened earlier even though he saw it was a bit messy. Then again, its not easy to keep a shop very clean if you lack the technology of my previous realm. he rationalized as he slowly walked towards the vixen, more nervous than cautious. "Armel sent me to get some bread; uh, how much would it cost?" he asked while looking into the coin pouch, realizing that in RPG terms, he essentially was flat broke when it came to gold pieces...

Felodran came down the stairs, and smiled to himself as the dragon that was nearly dead from before came in asking for bread. He decided to play the nice friend to the guy, who looked unsure of what he was doing.

"Hello! It's you again, you're looking better then before at least!" he said giving the dragon a pat on the shoulder.

"I'm the guy who helped you to the Inn... remember?"

Mordecai nodded, glancing back at the alleyway, then toward the scaley and rabbit. It seemed logical that they were not the only ones to be brought here and changed. As much a logical thought meant here anyway.

"I can head back and check the rooms in the inn for more, then check the square and come back. I assume it'd make him more comfortable." He said easily as he gestured toward the rabbit.
"I'll be back soon. If there's trouble, head toward the square and I should be able to hear you."

The wolf-lion hybrid made one quick check, before heading back through the alleyways to the square, noting a marginal return to calm behavior after all the strangers had left. Especially the thief that had approached them earlier and the dragon that had attacked the lion had disappeared. He wondered internally if they were like him and the other two, lost in a new world with no grips on its customs. It gave him enough of a curiosity to check around the edges to see if they showed up again.
He padded over to the old inn that he, and he assumed the others, had came from and started going through the rooms that were slowly falling into a decrepit state.

"Is anyone here?" He called, not loud, but with enough energy to carry through the halls. Maybe there were others who hadn't been found yet.

I had been laying there for a minute or two with my eyes closed before I finally decided to get up and do something. I opened my eyes only to close them right back. I slowly opened my eyes again hoping that I had been hallucinating. I wasn't. Instead of the mid-sized room with posters and bookshelves on the walls that i usually wake up to, I awoke in a dirty room on a mat on the ground with nothing but a window, a table with a jug, and a broken mirror. "What the hell is going on?" I thought to myself in a bit of a panic. I got up and started searching for any kinds of clues to why I was there. I first realized that I seemed a lot taller. "This room must be really small." I thought. I then saw what could have been a footprint on the ground. I bent over and reached out my hand to examine it. Or at least i would have. But in place of my hand there was a paw. And no just any paw, a paw the size of a catchers mitt. I stood back up and looked down at the rest of me. Instead of the hairy chubby body i was used to, there was a FURRY chubby body but a little less chub and a little more bulk. I raced to the mirror and even through the cracks and missing pieces I could tell what i had become. "Oh my god," I said out loud "I'M DOV!!" And that's when i heard "Is anyone here" as soft as a whisper. Now I could smell him, someone right side my door, as if he was right outside my door. I flexed my powerful muscles and prepared for anything. I was not gonna go down without a fight.

Reno just sat there when Mort referred to their world as a video game. He thought of the games he played back in reality. Lots of shooting games and the like. But he was right, it did seem kinda like a game. Maybe they were in a game, maybe they didn't tire out when running, drinking potions magically made injuries go away. That would be just weird. But this whole place was weird. Reno also thought of this "event" that would set everything into motion.

The vixen smiled when the dragon had mentioned Armel, "Oh, you must be his new apprentice. Haha, that big old sour bear is a big softy. Bread is only 2 gold." She seemed to be peppier than before when she had met the lynx. "Well, for Armel that is. You can wait for this loaf if you want, it'll be fresh out of the oven, special for him. It'll be out in five or so minutes, though." She leaned over the counter, elbows holding her up with a somewhat renewed interest in the dragon when the Lynx had come down and interrupted. "Oh, so you two know eachother?" She asked, her eyes wide with curiosity. "Well, that's good. As much as Armel gets from here, it's good that you two are familiar." She came from around the counter and placed a hand on the lynx's shoulder. "You see, this is my new apprentice. He'll probably run bread to you if Armel doesn't send you. That or he'll be baking the bread when you come." After that, she smiled warmly. "It's kinda good you came, a couple of old folks like us need help around these shops, labor can be back breaking, so to speak." In truth, the vixen was around sixty years old, same as Armel, but the years were less harsh on her than the bear. She still looked rather young.

Now that Chrono's body wasn't near-death, he could get a better grasp at the situation, and he had seen this lynx at least once, but about a year ago. He was a bit unsure if this was the man he knew, but it wouldn't help to see if a few out-of-realm words might indentify him. He took two gold pieces out of the pouch and handed them to the vixen with a rather nervous grin. "I don't believe I caught your name earlier sir... was it 'Gabag' or something, I was a bit hard of hearing when you last spoke." he said rather casually, partially hoping that the lynx would hopefully realize with whom he was speaking with.

"Oh my God..." A voice said from behind the door to his left. Mordecai froze, carefully treading to lean against the wall on the side of the door near the hinge. Thankfully from opening a door himself, he knew they opened into the room, so he could lunge in with a knife if the person inside was hostile. Slowly and quietly, the lion-wolf hybrid pulled the knives from the inside of the robe, and held his arms crosswise, forearms overlapping, with blades faced inward to the door as he edged directly in front of it.

"Whoever is inside, come out quietly! I'm not here to harm you, but if you show hostility I will not hesitate to use force." Mordecai commanded, his voice a lot stronger than it should have been in that situation. Whatever was behind that door wasn't small by any means of the imagination. He hoped with every fiber of his being he wouldn't have to take a life, because the sentiment was stirring with a cruel pleasure that ached to awaken something within Mordecai's body. He hoped it was another like himself and the others.
"Come out with your hands behind your head, and walk slow."

"Come out with your hands behind your head and walk slow" After hearing this I felt a strange feeling deep inside of me. I would have been happy to oblige if it would give me some answers, but something inside of me said "Who the heck does this guy think hes talking to?" And before I could think about what I was saying the words "I don't take orders from no one and I sure as heck aint gonna start now!" came out of my mouth, and in a thick country accent no less. "You want me, your gonna have to come in here take me! No guns drawn if you don't want me to take your dag burn head off!"

Felodran showed a hint of surprise, before putting on his 'good to see you demeanor'. Chrono found him through his ever favorite user name.

Felodran retrieved the bread for Chrono and put it in a bag for him, and placed an arm on his shoulder.

"We'll catch up later when we're not expected to work... alright?" he whispered.

Reno was pacing back and forth when Mort said something. "Oh uhm...I think I saw someone but I'm not really sure. From what I remember he was human, but he was a Lynx now...So yeah..." With that he slumped up against a wall and slid down it onto the ground and faced Mort. He scratched his head nervously and tried to keep from looking at him. "Hmm...I wonder if this would count as meeting Rigor...? I guess it beats AWA." A slight smile came on his face as he thought that.

"Mmm. Vell, I suppose zhat ve just wait here until zhat lion fellow returns." With that, the chameleon plopped against the wall of the building in the alley and slid down, jumping as he sat on something that felt like it was made of cloth. A bit confused, he reached down and retrieved what it was from under him, his eyes growing wider as he realized what it was.. That can't be Mortis.. I don't get it.. Why is this happening if I'm Romei? Was there a mix up? she thought as she turned the cloth over to inspect it. It looked like an empty stuffed animal with bright colors and stripes. It was a chameleon... Therefore it had to be Mortis. From the jumble of cloth, there were two yellow button eyes and a zipper on the chest. The familiarity of knowing the character was haunting. Does it have a consciousness...? Is it dead? she continued to think her heart racing. She would hate to see one of her characters dead.

"Reno.. Look at this." Romei said, not really looking up from inspecting the skin of the doll, "I svear, it looks just like Mortis, I don't get it." He carefully unzipped the zipper to look to see if the design was like the ones she drew with an dull, colorless inside, but without warning, the zipper leaped forward expanding like a hungry mouth and latching onto the chameleon's face. He let out a shriek that was quickly smothered by the zipper that was expanding further over her face, the sleeves from the doll lashing out, growing to unnatural proportions and wrapping around the chameleon's body. Before even a minute passed, the sound of the zipper cut through the air sealing the chameleon inside, screams muffled by the cloth in the way, the figure squirming in the alleyway. The cloth itself seemed to shrink, the figure inside screaming like mad until at last, there was a doll on the ground, only about 20" tall, falling silent. The doll was inanimate as a pin appeared in the air, proportional to the doll itself, and stuck through the heart of it.

The vixen was a little confused when the dragon said the name was "Gabag" but she smiled nonetheless, "Well, it's nice to finally know your name, Gabag. I'm sure you two can get acquainted more when you work or after you work, but it's late this afternoon, and I suppose it's time to start cleaning up. Plus, I know Armel is going to want his bread still warm." She scurried off the the oven and opened it, getting a long pole with a flat edge at the end and scooped up the flat pan type thing the bread rested on, setting the bread on the table. It seemed like time had been lost for a moment as the bread seemed to be done and just the right temperature for wrapping up in some cloth. She brought it over to the dragon, and put her hand out waiting for the two gold. "I'm sure Armel will want his meat, too. It's just two vendors over," she stated, pointing to the left. "You'll want to talk to Jacob. He's Armel's brother, he'll give you Armel's usual for 3 gold if you say Armel sent you... Though.. Don't ask about how they are related.. Some say he's just adopted," the vixen's voice got smaller as she spoke, "It's a touchy subject."

When Romei sat next to Reno he scooted over, a bit nervous. He saw her pick up a small doll that looked like one of Rigor's design. He was about to say something when it latched onto his face. "SWEET GOOGLY MOOGLY!!" He almost jumped out of his skin as he scrambled to his feet. He frantically looked around for something to pry it off, but by then it had devoured Romei. "Nooo! You ate 'er! Er...'im, you ate 'im!" As he freaked out a needle came from no where and pierced the doll through it's heart. "Ah! What the hell?! Some Naruto **** right 'ere!" Reno ran over, picked up the doll and start flailing it around. "Spit 'im out! You little cretin!" He then started choking it and shaking wildly. "Spit it out! Rawr!"

Mordecai said nothing, merely focusing on the door as the redneck southern drawl continued its angry tirade. He sighed, gripping the knives tighter. He was hoping he could find someone he actually knew from back home, but apparently "it" had brought another stranger. Knowing there was no other option, he let the sentiment take control and kick down the door, lunging forward to put the blades at the carotid artery and jugular vein. It was amusing in a dark, twisted way. The sentiment was using his anatomy knowledge in combat.

"Listen. To. Me. I'm not here to kill you, but if you keeping raising hell I will do it!" He growled, staring at the bear that was a good foot or so taller than him. But they had figured such, he and the sentiment, so when they had rushed in, he buried the blades as deep into the skin and muscle he dared without actually severing the two major blood suppliers, leaving two tiny streams of blood to mingle with the stranger's fur.
"Lets talk this out as civilized people. Who are you, and where are you from?"

He kept his muscles tense in case the bear tried anything, but he hoped to God he didn't. One twitch on the bear's account, and the blades would sink too deep. Then there would be nothing in his power to save him, and no information Mordecai could glimmer from the slightly familiar ursine. Why was he so familiar looking...?

Chrono raised an eyebrow at her, and pointed at the two gold on the counter she probably put down without realizing before walking off. He followed her directions, though 'two vendors down' could mean either direction. However, his first attempt was spot-on as he spotted the meat vendor, and casually walked up to him, apparently not having to wait in line as he seemed to know what the next person in line wanted before they even spoke, but that stopped when he saw Chrono...

"Armel sent me, I-I'm his new apprentice...I think" he said with indescision as he wasn't sure if it was just a side-job, or a real apprenticeship.

"A-anyway, how much will it cost?"

After a moment of silence from the doll, it suddenly jerked back to life in the rabbit's grip, "AUGH OH GOD WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" It's arms snaked around the rabbit's, grabbing his wrists and jerking backward to make room for breath, but immediately, the doll noticed that it didn't need to breathe... Which, didn't really change her actions as she struggled to get free, "RENO, augh, crap! Chill out!" Her voice seemed to come from the doll, but the doll's face didn't move, the "mouth" was merely a line of stitches meant to imitate one. "It's Mortis!"

-----

The panther turned and let his sharp golden eyes rest on the reptile. His brow seemed to raise as he spoke of his brother. "Ah, it'll be three gold for Armel." Although the panther was obviously of no relation to the bear, he was just as big as Armel himself. He reached behind the counter and pulled out a choice cut, wrapped up, fresh and somewhat bloody. "Armel told me he'd be here to pick it up, but if he sent you with his pouch, he must trust you a great deal," the panther said, pointing to the pouch in the dragon's hand. "Though, I'm surprised.. You seem a bit scrawnier than the ones he picks." He shook his head, laughing, "No matter." With that, he dropped the choice cut into the dragon's hands taking the gold in its place. "Now off with you, Armel gets awry when he's hungry."

-----

The vixen's day went fairly well. She managed to get a new apprentice for herself, who seemed to be strange, but nonetheless helpful as she showed him how the shop operated. She was very specific with telling him how to clean up.. Clean up because she wasn't up to trusting him to bake her goods yet. She was the only one who cooked as far as she was concerned until the apprentice began to shine in his cleaning.

Chrono's ego caused him to be at least somewhat frustrated at being called 'scrawny', but he also noticed this body seemed to be dormant for awhile as it was indeed too scrawny for the amount of strength he should be possessing. Probably a step-brother... but I won't ask he thought as he ran off with the bread, meat, and pouch all the way back to the in, partially making a scene as he carelessly colides into some people before ending up at the inn.

Mordecai stared at the bear, knowing that trusting him wasn't necessarily the best option he could have. But he also knew that if worst came to worst, he was also in a better position to escape and wound. Not ideal, but better than instant death. So reluctantly he pulled the knives out of the bear, ripping a part of his shirt underneath the robe to crudely patch the puncture that was bleeding.

"Okay then, lets start with the basics. My name is Mordecai."

The wolf-lion spoke as he wiped the tips of the knives off on the tattered remains of his ripped shirt, before stowing them away in the robe pocket.

"And I am searching for others. Others who woke up here without a clue." The hybrid then stepped back to lean against the wall adjacent to the door frame, awaiting a response from the highly agitated bear. He knew it may not have been the best start, but when faced with uncertainty, you had to put yourself as top priority, or you could end up dead.

I stood there with my arms crossed trying to exude as much power as i could without showing how bad my neck hurt. "Now you little pain in my neck, would you mind tellin' me what you mean by "Woke up here with out a clue" and why I went to bed as a normal man and then woke up with more hair than my sixty year old grand-pa?"

"I'm not eating anyo--" she stopped realizing how stuff her face was. It was an odd feeling as if she had no mouth, but somehow she was still able to speak because she could hear her voice. "Anyone." She finished saying, her voice drifting off, a little in surprise. She looked down to see that she had large oversized sleeves for hands... And she felt much shorter when she looked to Reno. "What the hell, I was just Romei.. Now I'm Mortis.. What is going on here..?" She shook her head, the doll shaking its head in response. "I hope this isn't a continuing trend, I'd like to be just in ONE BODY... Getting to this one as unintentional as it was is scary as hell." She felt her sleeves groping her face; she had two button eyes. Instead of being the anthro chameleon she was before, here she was as a small stuffed one.

When the dragon entered the inn, there was that same otter barkeep attending to the customers at the bar. The otter cocked his head curiously when he noticed the familiar face of the dragon. Why is this 'appenin' to me?! What did I do? Seriously messed up...Just gotta make sure she doesn't want seconds...Or maybe I would be considered dessert?" "Don't eat me as dessert! I'll go straight to your thighs! I'm probably really sweet! I mean- Crunchy! Or uhm...Chewy!" "I bet she's drooling, even I would eat me!" After that he curled into a ball, atleast that way he'd be eaten in one bite.

Mordecai physically grimaced at the bear's vocabulary and linguistic skill, but continued to hold steady against the wall. He really had no honest answer to why they were here. Or why them specifically. So he answered with a nonchalant shrug, and leaned forward, shifting his weight to his feet.

"I see you're plenty capable of making it on your own, tough guy. So I think I'll be heading back to the others. Sayonara."

The hybrid hesitated only for a single second, doubting his recognition of the name and appearance, before padding out of the old, dilapidated inn they all seemed to have spawned from. Maybe the ursine would follow, or maybe not. It wasn't Mordecai's decision. The wolf-lion walked slowly, giving the bear enough time to catch up if need be, but cautiously wound his way through the alleys in a roundabout fashion to try and lose anyone else that could be following.

I just sat there for a second. "So what now?" I figured that my only chance for getting home just walked out that door, so i followed. "Hey mordecai" i shouted before i stepped foot out of the old inn and jumped back. "Well butter my backside and call me a damned biscuit, is everyone here a animal or have i just gone completely nuts?" i exclaimed, for i had walked out to what seemed to be a ancient street of were-beings. The chameleon doll chuckled at Reno. "Look, Cuddles, it's me.. Mortis." The doll pointed at herself. "Remember? From the forums?" It was hard to keep from laughing at how he was acting. This body was also odd, going from something organic to something inanimate, with sleeve hands. She herself was even perplexed when she looked down the sleeves to see nothing was there, yet, it still retained the shape of limbs being in the long sleeves. It also felt weird not being able to move her face, but she supposed she would get used to it. She was really thrown off with this world.. Still.

Armel, at his shop, walked back to the back rooms of his shop where he could cook his things. Like most the shops, there was a kitchen with one wooden table for you to eat off of. He found another stool digging around in his storage and set up the table as nicely as he could. His stomach rumbled as he did so, wondering where on earth his apprentice would be by now. "Serves me fer helpin' a reptile," he grunted, "He's probably run off with that small chunk o' change I trusted 'im with.. Surely not all o' 'em are th' same."

Chrono finally arrived at Armel's blacksmith when he noticed not only a smoke-stack, but swords and shields being displayed in windows. He opened the door and hefted the bread and meat, and he also wore a dumb grin on his face as he approached the table and put the meat in front of his 'master'. "I would've gotten here sooner, but I just realized you went back to your store when I went to the inn to find yo- ah!!" he had already put down the food and had put one hand behind his head, and that was the hand that ignited since his nervousness brought out the only element his mind could conjure. He shook the flame until it went out, then chuckled as he put his hand behind his back. "I don't know if its obvious by now, but I really don't know what this land is even called... or even if I'm still on Earth."

Almost halfway back, the hybrid stopped mid-step and sighed. Mordecai's sentiment was starting to influence his actions more than he imagined. Maybe it was worth it to go back and bring the bear with him. Or not.
Ignoring the frustration building like bile at the back of his throat, he decided to turn back, his pace much quicker than when he came until he saw the bear wandering hopelessly in the square. He was calling out for a name that technically didn't exist in this world. But even so, he refused to sacrifice his anonymity for a stranger. Carefully pulling his hood to shade any distinguishing features, he melded in with the crowd until he bumped into the shoulder of the bear.

"Follow me, you idiot. And next time you feel like getting yourself lost, take the intuitive to keep up." He whispered vehemently, azure eyes glancing back at the ursine with a piercing impatience.
             "Also, keep your voice down."

As much as he'd love to leave the bear as lost as he himself had started out, Mordecai used the crowd to get him back to another entrance to the alleys, moving slowly to keep in the ursine's line of sight. It may have been a different path, but the scent still lingered from his many treadings so it wouldn't be difficult to backtrack. The lion-wolf hybrid had to bite his tongue to keep from saying anything more confrontational than he had said in the inn. Keep your friends close, and your enemies [as well as strangers] closer.

As much as i wanted to punch that smart mouth in, i decided to just let it go and follow the little pest. He was leading me to someone who possibly knew more than him and i wasn't going to pass that up. I also decided that having a friend was much better than an enemy so i tried to make peace with him. I caught up to him and kept a steady stride while saying "OK look, we seemed to get off on the wrong foot. I'm sorry for whatever i did to offend you and i aint holdin' no grudges for you stabbin' me in the neck. Can we just start over? I'll go first." As soon as the rabbit uncurled, she couldn't help but spring forward and wiggle her arms in an intimidating manner and gave out the best OOGAH BOOGAH she could. She wanted to grab her zipper and open it, but she wasn't sure if it would release the monster form or not, so she stopped herself. She knew her character well, and she wasn't going to do that. She continued her facade of a monster anyhow. It was something to do for the moment.

Armel crossed his arms giving the dragon a strange look. "Aye, well, fer now yer in a town called Atlas. It's a neutral ground between the light kingdom and th' darklands. A good place to be if ye don't like trouble. Though the guard that comes here can give us a hassle every now an' then as well as th' folks from th' darklands." He continued explaining as he cut up the meat with a large knife and started the furnace to cook it. "We act as a place of trade, so we see people o' all kinds come in from between those two lands. It's th' only way we can live. That's why we vendors are so tightly knit. We look out fer one another." The last part seemed to be said a little sterner as if suggesting consequences would be dire if the dragon decided to cheat him. He seasoned the meat and cooked it, bringing it back to the table... The meat sizzling and giving off a delicious aroma. "Do ye happen t'know what brings ye here? Maybe I can help." He split the meat evenly with the dragon, putting it on the rough plate, and dumping some of the oils from cooking on it alongside a few pieces of bread from the loaf that Armel had sliced himself. Unlike bread the dragon was used to, the pieces he got was thicker. The bear began to eat, waiting on an answer from the dragon. The food he had fixed was top notch and possibly the best meat and bread to grace anyone's lips.

He bit into the steak, and tears formed in his eyes at how delicious it was, and it actually encouraged him to take only take a bit of it off at a time to milk as much from the meat as he can. He was halfway through before he could come up with an answer. "I come from a realm called Earth, and I was not a dragon when I went to sleep there, yet I awoke here a dragon that I had dreamed of on Earth but could not become due to the lack of magic our realm needed to complete such a ritual. Shall I elaborate on our tools of the trade?" He inwardly suprised himself at how well he formed the statement and in a way that could probably be understood even if one is not familiar with Earth; but he just passed it off as him fitting into the body of his primary avatar...

When Mortis tried to scare Reno, it worked. He shrieked little a little girl and passed out, falling onto the ground. In the split second it all happened he thought: "AHH! I knew she was goin' to eat me! I just knew it! Was it something I said?! Waaaah! I don't want to be eaten!" As he was unconscious he dreamed of his life in reality. Wondering what was going on back home, if it was even there.

Mordecai relented, and shook the bear's hand in a sense of tentative agreement. But he didn't say anything, more so out of lack for words than spiteful nature. He had already introduced himself, and he felt the ursine might understand. Maybe. So the trip backward mostly consisted of the hybrid following his scent and the faint remains of the thief's scent back to where Romei and the rabbit remained.

"..." Standing above the rabbit's unconscious form was a reptilian doll that seemed to be too amused for comfort. But the doll itself looked familiar, as it was another one of Romei's creator's works, Mortis. But in this world, nothing was for certain.
"....Mortis? Is that you striking fear into the heart of others again?"

If it truly was Mortis, she might appreciate the cynicism. If not, he may have just started out on the wrong footing with an unknown creature. The hybrid hoped it was the former more than the latter, because it seemed to be pleasant enough, in its own...unique way. He glanced back to see the bear's reaction, before padding over to crouch beside Reno's still form, checking his breathing before putting a paw on his shoulder.

"Wakey, wakey.." Mordecai muttered sardonically, hoping on the off chance the rabbit did respond, he got a good reaction.

I had to bite my tongue to keep from laughing. This guy might be a bit of a jerk but he had a good sense of humor at least. I looked over and saw someone who was very familiar. I was just about to call out her name when i remembered that she didn't really share her name with a lot of people. It only took a second to think of a good name that she would know me by. "Bane? Armel cocked his eyebrow as he sliced into the tender steak and ate it. For a bear, he ate quite delicately. "So what were ye before ye became that dragon?" He was honestly curious. He'd get to answer the second thing he asked soon enough, but he needed to know more about who he was trusting in his household.

-----

When Mortis had jumped to scare him, she didn't quite expect for her to get THAT much of a reaction, but she had to muffle her own laughter because she felt somewhat bad for making him faint. It wasn't long before the wolf lion had returned with a bear.. She wondered where he had managed to find a bear, but it was obvious from his ragged attire that he was probably just as confused as they were. If she had a jaw, it would have dropped when he spoke because there was only one person who ever called her Bane. Without any warning though, her sleeves stretched to enormous lengths and wrapped around the bear in a hug as she peeped, "Shadowslayer" with a laugh. There was one familiar face she knew for sure... They used to hang out occasionally in real life on earth, he also went to high school with her as well. When she released him, she dropped back to the ground, looking up. She wanted to unzip her chest now more than ever just because she felt so short.

Reno woke up up to Mordecai over him, which made him roll over away from him and stand up. Mainly because he figured he wasn't eaten and the lion wolf wanted to finish him off. Soon figuring he wasn't going to he looked around for Mortis. He saw her with a bear...Another thing that would gobble up a rabbit...Now he was with three things that would eat him. A cannibalistic doll, a lion wolf hybrid and a bear. Lions wolfs and bears oh my. Reno tried to act casual as he could to avoid drawing attention from all his predators.

Mordecai watched the unusual display of affection between the doll and the bear, breathing a bit easier knowing it had been the former.

"You know, if I had wanted to hurt you by now, I would have." Mordecai dryly replied as he glanced over to the rabbit. It seemed he took the whole predator stereotype to a new level, but the hybrid couldn't blame him.
"Though I could go for some food right about now...roasted rabbit anyone?"

He knew he was horrible for once again torturing Reno, but he couldn't help it. His dark sense of humor seemed to fit perfectly with the sentiment's version of Mordecai's persona. Which was possibly the one plus amongst many minuses---one huge one being that they had no food or way to seriously keep themselves alive besides each other.

"Relying on each other for survival...this sounds more and more like a cheesy motivational film every second." The lion-wolf mused quietly, before standing up brush the debris that had gathered on his robe, much to his displeasure.

Now they had four, so they could possibly, stretching possibly to the fullest extent, weather a fight should someone start one. But now what would they do? The hybrid lapsed back into comfortable silence to try and answer his own questions with little result other than creating new ones.

"I was what I believe is called a 'human', having hair only on the top of my head and on my chin and off-white skin coloring." He took a piece of bread and dipped it in the oil for a few seconds before taking a bite out of it. He was amazed that food could in fact be made this well, and for what he thought was a very low price!.

I was very happy to find a friend in this strange new world. After the long hug i looked over just in time to hear the hybrid say "Roasted rabbit anyone?" I fought the urge to play along, the poor rabbit looked terrified enough. I instead turned back to Mortis and said in a playful tone "When i said we need to hang out soon, I kinda imagined a more modern place. By the way, is it just me or have you lost alotta weight?" It felt good to play around with an old friend, especially since so far i had been threatened, stabbed, abandoned, and insulted. Maybe things were starting to turn around.

The bear was a bit taken back when the dragon said that he was a human. He dropped his utensil on the plate with a bit of a stern look, "Son, that ain't a funny joke. Humans have been extinct for over thousands o' years. We find records of 'em as if they all just dropped off the face o' the earth one day. There's hardly anythin' left of them by now... Time takes its toll on the landscape. Some philosophers think we came from 'em." He shook his head. He finished the last few bites of his steak and bread, then took all the plates and places them in a sink.

"I know what you mean.. I didn't exactly plan on being this short." She looked over to the rabbit who was trying to be casual. "I really don't intend on eating you, Reno. I don't even have a mouth." She looked down to her zipper again, somewhat acknowledging that they would have to rely on each other when the wolf lion said it. She wanted to unzip it and see what happened after that.

He thought about it for a few moments, trying to think of a possible explanation. "I don't think I was joking, I distinctly remember going to bed in much better clothes than what you or I ever imagined wearing. However, I don't know exactly how much time passed between falling asleep and waking up as a dragon so there is the possibility of my body becoming draconian during my sleep." He took a bite of the meat before he said 'however', and was still able to fluently speak with food in his mouth. I guess being Chrono is definatly more preferrable to my human self in terms of practicality; but there is a heavy price for such perks: a constant issue of the past rearing its ugly head in hostility

The lion-wolf said nothing in response, instead choosing to enjoy the silence in being ignored and wandered off back toward town.  He figured that his time was better spent gathering information than sitting there being lost. Besides, there was nothing he could do theorizing.

The dull roar of chatter in the square was a god-send, washing away the trickle of thought that plagued his mind thanks to the doubt and the sentiment. Mordecai moved to sit on the edge of the fountain, preferring the more literal trickle of water, watching them all pass by underneath the hood. Words mixed and melded, voices popping out from the stream before fading back into the void.

Sure waking up as Mordecai hadn't been a bad thing, but he did have this twinge of remorse for being away from his family. It was heart-wrenching, but still, waking up as one of your characters was an almost impossible thing. Not something to waste to fear.

I watched Mordicai walk off and decided he needed his alone time. So I looked around and checked my surroundings. There wasn't much to look at. We were in a old city with animal people walking around. Then I saw the rabbit was still on the ground. "Well, if I'm going to be around these people, might as well make some new friends." I thought and extended my hand to the little guy. "Howdy, need some help friend. My name's Cody Laster but you can call me Dov." in my southern drawl and with a smile on my face.

As Felodran was cleaning the bakery, he had a nagging question to ask the vixen owner.

"So what do people call you around here? Also where is here anyways?"

He assumed after he finished his cleaning she would ask about why he was hear and all of that not so fun stuff. But then how did it happen?

One minute he was asleep in his room, with posters of Carmine standing heroically over a dead Locust, and the next he was in a run down inn. Or was it years? Lots of time could've passed since he entered that slumber. But that leaves the question of why there are others like him.

"Now why would I think you were going to eat me?? Hahah! You're crazy, I wasn't thinkin' tha'!" That was clearly a lie and an attempt to play cool, Reno was never good at hiding how he feels. When Mordecai wandered off he didn't really care all too much, not only was he acting strange it was one less person he knew would not not eat him. Mortis was probably the only one he trust that wouldn't eat him. But that was different when it came to her doing other things to him...

"S'odd, honestly." He said finishing up the dishes and putting them back in their respective places. "And don't get used tah this kinda service, either. I won't be doin' it all the time. Sometimes you might have to do it with or for me." Armel stood at the sink, crossing his arms. "Alright, ye ought to be gettin' to bed now. Or at least to ye chambers." he stated in a matter-of-factly tone. "There's a lot to do in the morning and we gotta get you ready as my apprentice."

-----

Mortis, as the others were talking couldn't take it anymore, she tugged down on her zipper. Immediately, her head collapsed and another rose from the zipper.. It was a sepia toned Mortis with the seems showing. In place of the eyes there were two large x's made of the string that held the buttons on the other side. It's neck seemed to stretch like a cartoon and its mouth ripped open, revealing an orange and purple striped snake for a tongue. As parts of Mortis collapsed and disappeared, this monster made its way out of the zipper, standing, looking more organic.. No longer a 2 ft. doll, but now an oddly proportioned almost 6ft tall monster made of cloth. The pin was still in its chest, however this time, the end of the pin was in the front rather than the back.

-----

The Vixen finished up her cleaning, replying, "Well, they just call me Astra. I've been running this place for years." She was rather satisfied with how obedient her apprentice was, though she thought it strange he didn't know where he was. "Gabag, you're in Atlas. You know where Atlas is right?" She tilted her head, assuming he didn't and continued. "It's a neutral ground for dealers and merchants between the light kingdom and the darklands. We get all types here. I hear a sorceror runs the darklands and that's he's very powerful.. He can make anyone anything."

He thought about the situation for a moment, then nodded as he found a downstairs to where he thought the chamber would be, and the moment he stepped down, a voice ran through his head. You are capable of ruling everything, why must you be content with being some old bear's apprentice?! He felt something take control of his left arm, but he grabbed it and hissed in pain as an inward force tried to take control. Silence and be still rogue spirit, this is my body, and its my choice to do with it as I will!! he 'replied' to the inner voice, and felt control go back to his arm as he went further downstairs to lay down on the mat below. "Whats the point of ruling everything if you have no clue of whom you rule?"

Reno watched as Mortis transformed from a tiny doll to a monstrous beast before his eyes. "'onestly...This sucks..." With that said Reno ran towards the bear and hid behind him for protection. The two seemed like close friends, maybe Mortis would hesitate before eating him while Reno could escape. But even then, he's a bear, he would take a minute I'm sure to eat...And with his size maybe he could even fight the new monstrous Mortis.

Everything happened so fast by the time my mind caught up I had a monster Mortis in front of me and a scared little bunny behind me. I turned to look at the scared expression on his face and said "You little wuss!" I then turned to the monster in front of me and decided to try and reason with her first. She was still one of my best friends anyways, I hoped she still was. "Bane? Bane are you still with us babygirl? If you are say something please." I tensed up getting ready for an attack if it came. Took one more look at the bunny behind me, shook my head and turned to face the creature that was Mortis.

Mordecai continued to observe the crowds movements until finally he grew tired of the chaos. Being ignorant of so much was starting to frustrate him. Where in the world was this place? Why were we here?
The lion-wolf mused for a little longer, before standing up to wander the city a little more. There wasn't much else to do, and if the others needed him, they could probably find him easily, much to his dismay.

The monster, seemingly compelled by ill-will nodded. She was still her, just now made of what looked like colorless burlap that still retained some of her patterns and had its seams showing. She lifted her arm taking a look, then glanced to the others, the only thing indicating her doing so was the movement of her head. "Well, at least I'm the same height as you all now. Though, I'm not sure how people will react to me on the streets," as she talked a purple and orange striped snake, the only thing with color on her moved and acted as a tongue.

-----

Armel went back to his chambers after he finished up a hammer he had been working on before he decided to pick up an apprentice. He was tired, and was a little weary of his newly acquired apprentice. He seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.. Either that or he was just insane.

"I'm not a wuss, I'm strategic. If Mortis had actually attacked us, your size is much larger than my own, thus giving you the advantage. Which would allow me to get behind'er and deliver a swift karate chop!" "WOW! That sounded really smart of me. I'm beginnin' to be more and more like Reno...I think, dunno. Hard to tell, we're so much alike..." Reno took a step out from behind the bear to look at Mortis. "So uhm...You gonna stay like tha'? In all honesty, it's creepy..."

Chrono had a hard time sleeping, since he felt he was forgetting something. He got back up and paced about until he remembered Gabag telling him to meet after they got 'time off'. He looked about the room for a window as his claws made it hard to quietly get around doors. He managed to find a small window that went directly to the ground just behind the shop. He pushed it open and crawled out before standing back up, outside the shop.

He started to wander towards the fountain, and a little distance past that, before taking notice of probably the only other reptile here besides himself. He made his way right to it, wanting to get more information about this place from a different perspective...

I decided to ignore the explanation given by the rabbit and instead turned my attention to Mortis. She was indeed taller, most likely stronger, definitely stranger, and completely stuck out in a crowd. "Im glad you found out a new ability and all Bane, but right now your stickin' out like a sore thumb. Maybe its better to change back for right now. Id like to not get kicked outta this town yet." "Well," I thought to myself "At least now we got a secret weapon."

Mordecai entered a few of the buildings, excusing himself if it was a private residence, before finally giving up to head back through the main square to the others. As he passed, he took notice of the dragon, but only just a glimpse, as he slipped back out of sight.

"Wonder what he's starting now...though I suppose its probably more productive than wandering around aimlessly like I have been..."

The sentiment agreed, venting its disapproval with his actions heavily while the lion-wolf hybrid headed around corners to lean on the wall adjacent to the original alley he lead the others too. He didn't know if they were there still, but he could hear voices, so he didn't bother to head back over to check. The hybrid slid to the ground, staring up at the sky with a vacant expression painting his eyes and muzzle from beneath the hood. He was starting to get hungry, and leaving the town was becoming more and more appealing. That, or stealing..
