When you’ve spent all of your life underground, nothing is more breathtaking, nothing fills a heart with more hope, nothing makes you want to smile like you never have before…than to see the pale blue sky for the first time. It proves to you at last that there is indeed something beyond the bland white ceiling, metal vents and florescent lights--- things that, since you could remember, were what served as the roof, the enclosure to your world.

Yet for six-year-old Mondenkind, this feeling of elation was quickly lost to an all too familiar feeling of misery.

They’d finally got the green light. They finally were able to bring her out of the subterranean labs and onto the base itself. Sadly, she wasn’t able to see much of anything fresh and new. The inside of the humvee had been mostly metal, and the windows were narrow and far between, granting her only a violet-tinted, fleeting glance of the Air Force base’s buildings and the sky she so craved beyond them.

And before she had the chance to enjoy even this small view, the army green humvee pulled off the main road and glided down a ramp into what she registered as a parking garage.

Now the girl paused, half-stunned, after jumping down from the vehicle. Behind her, a PTA guard gently shut the door. She wrapped her arms around herself and shook from side to side in disbelief. This wasn’t what she’d thought it would be. It wasn’t bright and green and beautiful. There were no normal people to talk to, no sweets, and, without question--- no sky. This looked almost exactly the same as the place she’d just came from: grey concrete floor, meshed with walls of plaster, held together with pillars of yet more concrete, a local favorite due to security reasons. It was big; large enough to hold several hundred cars. Huge panels of thrumming electric light were grafted into the grimy ceiling.

To the right, she could see the ramp which had led down here, striped with patterns of white paint that told where one should drive, and where one shouldn’t. At the tip-top, a stripe of white light beckoned, and she did know, very well, that that was the real world, out there, under the sun and alongside the whims of nature. But it was not going to be hers to enjoy. Not now at least…

Because they’d lied to her again.

A promise to the PTA was worth about as much as a grain of sand…you can collect however many promises you want, bucketfuls, but when the tide comes to wash them away, then they’re gone, forever intermixed and indistinguishable among the promises of everyone else in the world. She was used to this. Though that didn’t mean she would pass up the offer to be brought above ground, despite how shady that offer had been.

A hand touched on her shoulder. “Time to go,” the guard behind her whispered, and he pushed on her softly. “Come along now.”

Mondenkind did not want to go with him. She wanted to break loose from her inhibitions and run full tilt into the outside world. She wanted to feel the sun on her back, the wind in her white-blond hair, fill her mind with wonder and happiness to be alive. These things, however, were far beyond her capability. She found herself forced to follow orders, like she always was. Still hugging herself, tail dragging dejectedly on the floor, she fell in line directly in front of the guard and looked up at him with big cerulean eyes, her face contorted into an expression of passive irritation. Her stomach swirled bitterly.

The man was the one who’d driven her here alone. He was burly, tan-skinned, seemingly too big for the tight stitching and perfect seams of his black suit. Despite the way his Hollywood-esque wavy blond hair seemed like a ridiculous match for the rest of him, his drawn face did not come off as funny at all as he frowned down at her. “Good girl,” he said.

Then he started to herd her towards the elevator on the far side of the garage like a heeler herds cows, pushing and nudging, and, when she’d go too far in the wrong direction…smacking her lightly upside the head. From what he’d been told, the little girl couldn’t talk. And if she couldn’t talk, she had to also be somewhat slow in the head, making simply telling her what to do a useless venture.

He wondered, with this, exactly how the big wigs planned on making her confess.

_______________

Anna remembered the ‘farm’ and Charlie. But that was all she wanted to remember.

Dreams came back to her…wanting to be a truck driver, later a chef. Wishes and hopes floated back into her head like a breeze through spider silk. Caught for the moment. Her father. His cows…she hadn’t wanted to raise cows.

She’d wanted to be with Charlie. And so she was now, right beside him in her unit.

What she had not planned on was joining the Air Force. Sure, the thought had come to the strapping young tomboy, but she tended to brush such aspirations away, thinking she’d be no good at it, thinking she’d only end up failing. After all, there wasn’t much to her--- she was, basically, a skinny Mexican-American, with skin like caramel and bobbed dark brown hair. And that was all.

But Charlie, her cousin, had seen something more in Anna.

Smiling, he’d flagged her down at the recruiting station and given her the paperwork…from there it was history.

History does so bend and twist, and this was how she ended up here, at the edge of Utah’s Violet Lake, a handful of miles away from the Force base itself. The new recruits, herself included, wanted to enjoy their last days of freedom before training started. So they’d snagged a few unsuspecting Jeeps, loaded up, cranked some classic rock, and had driven on down to the lake for some swimming, flirting, and sun.

Uninterested in being adventurous, Anna hung back from the others, stretched out on a beach towel atop the red sand, clad in a white one-piece. Her eyes scanned the far horizon and red-kissed cliffs, the scraggly bushes, the water…contrary to its name, the lake did not have a violet hue. The majority of it was a normal, deep green-blue, the edges clear enough to see down for several yards. All in all, very pretty.

“Hey, Anna!”

The hearty voice called out from nowhere, loud enough to carry over the loud rock music blaring around them and even over the hollers of the other recruits. But she recognized it.

She glanced up, propping herself up on her elbows and taking off her sunglasses. “What the hell do you want, Charlie?” Her eyebrow raised when she saw where the equally skinny Latino was, perched atop a small cliff on the edge of the water, ready to dive in without fear.

“Why don’t you come jump in with me? It’s not that cold, I swear!”

“Prove it! I’m not going in there....freaking punk...

“Fine! I’ll come drag you in, then. Not really Air Force material, are you? Being such a chicken.” Charlie began to clamber down from the cliff, indeed coming to fetch her.

Anna rolled her eyes and repositioned her sunglasses. It was going to be a long afternoon.

"This is Wildcat.SK to tower control, come in tower control... requesting permission to land....."

-Kszchhhh-

"This is tower control... Wildcat.SK please maintain current position while we verify...."

The cockpit of the Mi-24 Hind Gunship juddered and shook, as the pilot pulled carefully on the controls, brining it into a controlled hover several thousand feet above the wide Air-force base... Leaning to the left slightly, he stared down at the concrete bunkers and outposts through his tinted Aviation visor....
(Slovakian)<"This place is packing some heat... I see at least Five Ground-to-Air missile batteries, as well as several aircraft ready to scramble..... What kinda trainee Airbase needs this level of protection?">

The co-pilot shrugged as he simultaneously checked avionics and air-speed control... (Slovakian)<"That 'Aint our Business.... Just keep her steady and wait for Tower Control for verification...>"

"This is Tower Control, Wildcat.SK you are cleared for landing... "

Nodding and replying the affirmative, the Pilot of the gunship pushed forwards ever so slightly, and leaned into the helicopters low nose-dive... Blades chattering overhead, the Hind flew down into a wide and very low curve over the two largest concrete bunkers... A Military MarkII humvee rumbled past below as the Hind swooped over, its engines roaring...

(Slovakian)<"Kitt... No showing off, the Air Force only wants to see your piloting skills once your enrolled... dont go pulling anything fancy..">

The Co-pilot's voice crackled over Kitt's headset, as the Helicopter whipped up a cascading storm of sand and dust... Finally seyting down on the tarmac landing strip with a suspension rocking -Thud- ....

-------

Long Florescent light strips burst into harsh light... The start of a new day... Jut as every day had started since her first morning here, the light stabbed through the hazy veil of sleep and mind-numbing drugs....

"Good Morning Subject #A666.... How are you feeling today?"

The voice was muffled behind a layer of perspex, as a scientist in stark white Lab-overalls peered through the window into her cell.... Putting one hand over her eyes, she attempted to block out the worst of the stabbing light, and rolled over to blink hazily at him.... The scientist stood on the other side of the perspex, pen hovering over his clipboard in expectance...

"Same as always..." She mumbled, hating the taste that always lingered in her mouth each morning... The scientist nodded, and scribbled a few words down onto his clipboard.... Once finished, he looked back up at her as she slid off the steel bed and stood up ungainly, her tail flicking drunkenly...

"Very Good... The effects of the anaesthetic should wear off in a few minutes... we can then resume testing...."

Intermittently throughout the base were tall, ivory towers of concrete and rebar.  At the top of one of these towers, Nero stood at attention with a pair of binoculars.  An anti-material rifle leaned against the side of the crow's nest, a silent soldier waiting to kill.

He was searching the distance for any sign of intruders.   There hadn't been any sign of people for the last week and Nero was starting to get bored.  Some of the local wildlife had helped to relieve his boredom...a few trophies that made his room smell like a butcher's shop...but the relief was always temporary.  At least people had the sense to duck and hide when he purposefully misses his first shot.  Animals only scurried away...no sport in that.

A mad grin came to Nero's face as he caught a glimpse of a plume of dust moving towards the base.  It was a van...bright red and relatively new.  The only vehicles the base used were gray-green Jeeps so that meant only one thing.

Civilians...

Nero kept a close eye on the van, watching it blow past multiple warning signs.  Nero pulled up his rifle to his good eye and focused his sight on the vehicle, waiting for it to pass the point of no return.  Then Nero snarled as the vehicle began to slow down.  With the rate of deceleration, it would stop before it reached the "point of no return".

"Oh, no you don't." Nero fired the rifle, shredding one of the tires.  The van lost control and skidded past the final warning sign.  The driver and the passenger jumped out as the van skidded to a halt.  They were open season now.

With one shot, the driver's head was torn from his shoulders.  Nero didn't wait to see the man hit the ground as he turned his scope to the female passenger.  Nero grinned as he saw she was wearing a bikini to keep the heat at bay.  Unable to help himself, he aimed down and tore her right leg off at the kneecap.  The woman collapsed to the ground, bashing her face against the desert sand.  Nero gave her just enough time to turn around and look at him before letting the final round fly, staining the sand crimson with her grey matter.

Nero laughed as he put his rifle down and crossed his arms.  "Gonna be a good day."

Yurian wasn't with the rest of the recruits, he had to be addressed alone to keep the others from losing focus to stare at him.

"Yurian, direct your attention away from the window for at the most five minutes, or I will have to open fire" his 'superior' said as Yurian's eyes were focused on the sunglass-wearing girl who had just finished yelling at someone else.

"Huh, wh-" the butt of an M6 whacked against his skull as his superior was now looming over him with a look of restrained rage.

"Don't get any ideas boy, your breed isn't really what human females would consider 'cute'..." the man said with annoyance, going back to get a folder for him.

"Not my fault I was born with eye and nose protection, don't see why humans would see more armor as less attractive." The human's aide, a rather skinny man with 'coke-bottle' glasses and three wristwatches on the left arm, was the one to reply, apparently pre-approved to answer questions that would anger his human 'superior'.

"Because most humans establish a margin of trust through eye contact, rather than by proving their worth as an "alpha male"." There was a tone of cockiness that Yurian picked up, but he could easily change his tune with one statement.

"I'm talking about winning a female over, something that might be just a tiny bit out of your ball-park..." He knew he hit the right nerve as the aide not only shut up, but was visibly frustrated at him for mocking his style.

"While I admit the comment might be true, runt, you still have a post to make, and are to wear a helmet at all times when interacting with any other race outside draconian" his officer said before handing him the folder that gave him not only the keys to his plane; but his room, laundry, key, and lunch order number. Yurian smirked before saluting his officer and walking out with the helmet that was placed on his desk when he got into the room.

Regardless of how he looked, if he could get her to look past the visor, he would definatly have a chance at her; and that was something he could smile about outside of flying a military-grade aircraft.

Ellina sat in a corner of her intricatly air-locked room. She knew they feared her power; how easy it was for her to simply walk out; how she could persuade her guard and have him open the door without even speaking a word. What they feared most about her power however, was how there was no cure for it, and no real means of preventing infection outside of commiting suicide.

She never really thought about the outside before she met Moon; but now she was almost pained to be sent back to her room of solitude and 'fake' light. It wasn't always air-tight either; however, when they found out how she could slip through cracks, and make her way to Moon in a matter of seconds, that was quickly put forth.

Elina looked down at her claws, occasionally hearing Moon's few words spoken while her vision flickered into the unreal. She could even feel her fur against her scaly talons as if she were really there, but it was a hollow feeling at best.

...She had to have Moon in her arms again, nothing involving a coupling like some of the 'paranoid conservative' scientists she heard about. She wanted her like a mother wanted her son or daughter, regardless of genetic ties.

She got up and felt her body become less and less rigid as she put her hand on the intercom near the door. Moon, I will be the one to show you the outside, and nobody here has the will or ability to tell me otherwise. she mused as her hand had already gone through the openings and trailed along the wires.

A needle passed through it's final hole as the last button was stitched to the little doll.  "Thank you...it was getting hard to see."  The doll hopped out of the capped claw and joined the rest of them, who had been watching intently as the eye replacement was performed.  The owner of the claw only smiled as his little friend thanked him.  The other dolls clamored around her, happy that she was alright.

One doll, though relieved, scolded her.  "Didn't we tell you not to play with 'him'?  If you had just left 'him' alone then you would still have your own eye."  The other dolls fell silent as 'he' was mentioned.

The owner frowned slightly and turned to the doll in the corner, who now had an extra eye sewn onto his shoulder.  It was covered with pieces of other dolls from when they got too close.  The owner wished it would go away...but it was locked in with him.  The padded cell was its home too.  The other dolls could leave whenever they wanted but "he"..."he" could never leave.

The little doll looked down at the ground in shame.  "I'm sorry Mama...I won't play with 'him' again."  The owner, lifted up the little doll and patted her on the head.  "D-d-d-don't w-w-worry...I-I-I-I a-am al-al-always h-h-h-here t-t-t-to he-he-help."

Outside the cell a guard banged on the door.  "Knock it off in there!  Don't make me get the tazer!"  The guard shook his head as the owner flinched.  "You know the rules, Entaru.  If you're going to make them move and talk, at least wait until between shifts."  The guard turned back to the wall and sighed. God, why do I have to guard this room.  ****, those dolls are creepy.

Back inside the cell, Entaru broke out of his petrifying fear and looked back at the doll in his hand.  It was limp...lifeless.  The others weren't moving either, all laid about in a pile.  Just dolls...

Putting the doll back into the pile, Entaru looked at "him".  He hadn't moved...but the eye was still there....

Charles was driving up in a specially marked Humvee that would let the security forces know not to fire as he approached the Violet Lakes compound. Of course, there were rumors. Rumors about how there was an unstable individual acting as the advance sniper.

Charles, wasn't too concerned though. He knew how to drive under pressure, the War in the East taught him that much. As he drove into the compound, he jumped out of the Humvee after pulling it to a stop and grabbed his bags.

Violet Lake. The safest assignment Charles could find while still appreciating the fine invention of the plane. Shouldering his bags he jogged up to the barracks to meet his new superiors and to receive his newest posting.

___________________________________________________________________________________________

"Has it been three hours... or two hours" Vinnie thought. The cell he was in wasn't too shabby, but again it was a cell, so nothing to be amazed at.

He stood up and banged on the door to get the guard's attention.

"Has it been 2 hours since I've eaten... or three?"
"Three hours, now shut up... you'll get food next guard rotation." the man snorted, content with taunting the penguin.

The first cell Vinnie was in, after he received his powers, he shoved a spear through the door, almost stabbing the man in the back. This incident was reported, and now Vinnie has special inhibitors attached to his arms and neck, preventing his arms from shifting. Well he can, it would just send a very painful electrical shock down his spine.

Ellina had finally gone through the intercom, and managed to travel to the other side of it, sliding up the wall and through the cracks in the cieling. It took a full three minutes for the man in the scurity office to notice that Ellina was no longer anywhere inside the air-tight room. He growled before nearly slaming his hand on the intercom button, letting his voice ring through every hall, elavator, and vehicle in the underground facility. His gruff voice echoed the same authority and power of an overseer, if this was the prison he ran.

"Subject A002 has left her cell, anyone encountering a large black draconian, must immedeatly open fire, and keep her away from Subject R-E257. Also, Lieutenant Jackson..." anyone near the hall to Ellina's cell could hear a gunshot ring out before hearing the sound of a body hit the floor. "Your family has been forgiven for your failure..."

Reno sat in a crouched position in a blue lounging chair looking over a chessboard with what looked like a game in progress though no one else was in the room. The room wasn't the best looking room though, gray concrete walls, iron barred and doors, it wasn't really even a room more as a dungeon cell. His room was also quite dim due to no actual lighting aside from a few candle light lanterns. Reno didn't mind though, he never did. He was perfectly content, playing chess with himself and eating from a bag of sunflower seeds held there between his legs.

Reno moved his Queen in a diagonal way and put it in front of the enemy King. Then he grabbed the King, holding it in place for a moment before bringing it on it's side. It was checkmate again for the enemy. He grabbed a seed from the bag, lifted it to his mouth and bit it in half before eating the whole thing. Just then the sound of his room door being unlocked was heard. A group of people wondered in, one of three being a woman in a crisp clean white lab coat. The other two were the common guard personnel. One of the guards approached him, put his hand on his shoulder and squeezed.

"C'mon, T-9, it's time for your test."

Reno did nothing, this morning routine had all been too bland and predictable. After a moment of trying to get Reno up the second guard came over, drawing a long baton with electricity jolting from the tip. Predictably Reno was prodded with the baton, collapsing him to the floor; his bag of sunflower seeds pouring out. But, unsuspecting to the rookie guard that had just struck him, the baton shook in his hand. The first guard knew what was happening and smacked the baton from his hand and drew his sidearm. The baton morphed into a small robot with it's hand now the head of the baton, giving it an electrified hand. The robot scurried over to the rookie and jolted him just above his boot dropping him to the floor. The remaining guard aimed his gun but refrained from shooting as the bot quickly dropped him to the floor as well. The little bot turned it's sights to the woman and scurried over to dispatch of her but suddenly fell to pieces. The frightened woman looked over to Reno who had risen a bit and was glaring at the now shattered bot with an extended hand. He slowly got to his feet, looking down, ears sadly hanging low behind his head.

Without another word the once frightened woman led him out of the room and down a corridor. He heard more guards entering his room, likely to tend to their comrades.

On the beach Rio was lying on a large green beach towel under a large multi-colored umbrella. She was in an all white bikini with a pair of large sunglasses. She was enjoying herself when a trio of male recruits walked by. They made a few cat calls to her and sauntered over.

"Heeeey, good lookin', wanna go some place and have a good time?"

"Hmm...Sorry, I like my men with more hair on their head. Try again in a few years."

The man rubbed his gleaming bald head with a turned down look on his face. The two others laughed and  jeered at him when one sat down next to her and grabbed some lotion that was laying on the towel.

"How 'bout you let me put some lotion on that sensitive looking bod of yours?"

"Hoooow about I shove it up your (Censored)? Looks like you might enjoy that."

As she stood up the two men that weren't shot down at the time laughed at their friend. Rio began to walk off when the final man grabbed her wrist and spun her around about to plant a kiss on her. But instead of a kiss Rio was already ready to punch him, so she did. It landed him on his rump. The bald man ran at her but she stepped aside and tripped him while the remaining guy looked at her.

"Wanna rub some lotion on me now? Come try."

"You (Censored)!"

The man ran over to her and threw a punch which she dodged and countered with a left hook to the side of his head. He was getting furious as he threw a few more dodged punches. Until the bald man came up behind her and grabbed her. The man quickly delivered a violent kick to Rio's stomach which dropped her to her knees. But she was picked up then kicked again. The man she knocked down before joined in and she was punched and kicked in the stomach until she started coughing up blood. That's when they stopped and one of the grabbed her face, forcing her to look at him.

"Not so tough now, huh, girly?"

"You hit like a child!"

With that the man back handed her across the face. But then she jumped up a bit and kicked off the two's chests and vaulted herself behind the bald man, quickly putting him in a strangle hold.

"One step closer and I'll snap his neck."

"Woah woah woah! No need to get hasty, we'll leave."

She continued to choke him until he collapsed, then she left him and walked back to her towel and laid there, sore and trying to enjoy the rest of her day. The two picked up their unconscious friend and carried him away. Rio was angry that she couldn't get in any more licks on them, but she was outnumbered. She got an evil grin when she thought about following them and putting C4 under their pillows.

Charles left the building with a paper that said report to Sgt. Rio Winterwolf. Whoever this Rio was, was Charles's new commanding officer.

He asked around at the base, and some of the other men laughed at him, or gave him a congratulatory pat on the back. Apparently this Rio woman was a very popular dame with the Air Force guys for being the hardest to get woman. Charles liked the sound of that.

That was until he saw a man being carried away, he asked why, the answer was "Sgt. Rio Winterwolf happened" Charles gulped and walked over to where Rio was lounging and took a deep breath.

"Sgt Rio Ma'am?" he asked, doing his best to keep his salute going without a shake.

"Corporal Charles Sumner, I've been assigned to your command as of this moment Ma'am."

When subject A002 was declared on the loose underground, a similar message to the one that had echoed through the laboratory halls was immeadiatley sent out to all 'in the know' guards above ground with the information that they were to be particularly careful, if or when she made it out of the subterranean maze...at trying to re-capture her...this one had an amazingly 'special' and amazingly threatening power...if they were unable of doing so in a timely manner, bringing her down via open fire was to be permitted. Quickly, blockades were set up at the entrance to each of the four underground tunnels, and teams were deployed to all of the other, more secretive, openings.

A message of warning was also sent to the 'Colonel...'

He requested that several choppers were manned and put on stand by.
________

"Come on, come on now, you can do it," Charlie said teasingly while Anna lingered on the edge of the cliff, mere centimeters away from jumping---or in a more undesirable case, falling---in. Her toes tickled the loose red pebbles there, and they came loose, splooshing into the blue-clear water below. They'd seen the commotion caused with Rio, but hadn't wanted to interfere out of logic.

"SHUT IT! I'm going in when I'm damn well ready," Anna barked. But this bark was coupled with hesitation. There, on a larger mesa not too far away, were what looked like several teams of black-clad guards, tiny black ants picking their way across the horizon, seeming like they were after something important. "What's going on?" she asked of her cousin. Desert wind picked up about her, making her hair flap about almost awkwardly.

He turned, and saw it too, curious worry playing over his face. "I have no idea. Maybe a training excercise."

________

“Now, you think you could tell me what things you know about us, dear? It’s very important that you tell, we’ve told you why over and over.”

Mondenkind blinked. Her abnormally long and fluffy tail was draped over her lap. She took up the pad of paper and the pen, and, after a moment of thought as she tapped her chin with the pen, the girl drew a sad face on the paper and showed it to the man in standing front of her. “I don’t know,” she repeated for the fourth time. Then shook her head. “I don’t know.”

A lie.

She may not have known much at all about the truth, but she knew enough to wish she’d never found out in the first place.

The man, self-appointed human Colonel with painfully white skin, eyes of steel and grey hair to match, glared at her. “You’re a liar. Do you know what ‘liar’ means, girl? It means you’re not telling us the truth.” He was choosing his words carefully and repeating them properly so as to achieve a constant. His hands were in the pockets of his pressed pants, and his dark green uniform top was so tight it made him seem rigid…like his spine was made of steel.

“I don’t know.”

“You don’t know, huh?”

“I don’t know.”

Sitting in a metal chair in the middle of the Colonel’s office, she of course felt extremely uncomfortable. All the blinds were drawn, not only blocking her view of what lied outside but casting the entire room in an odd dusk. Every so often, she would wring her hands, ears back, tail twitching, wishing they’d let her get up and look out the window. But it was doubtful that the thought of doing so even crossed their minds. Yellowed old maps were spread out on the mahogany desk, maps of--- just what, she couldn’t tell. Bookshelves gave the room elegant corners, and the books lining them intrigued her greatly. Maybe they’d let her have one, maybe…

“You’ve lived here a long time, since you were born, R-E257. Now, with all the attention we’ve given you, with how important you are to what we’re trying to do, you can’t tell us with a straight face that you haven’t seen things out of the corner of your eye, overheard things that you shouldn’t have, am I right?” The Colonel cooed.

“I don’t know,” she said.

“Oh, it’s useless trying to talk to you, isn’t it? You probably don’t even know what I’m saying.” He raised an exasperated palm to his forehead.

“Yes,” she said.

Yes? His eyebrows shot up in bewilderment, and then he watched as she nodded, slowly, and as she smiled. “If you do, then…” This pause was followed by a great rush of air as he let out his breath. Highly confused and not knowing how to go about things with this girl, he turned from her and walked to the door, where he opened it and let in her guard, the tan-colored man who’d brought her here.

She shuddered. Biting her lip, she began to scrawl drawings of lopsided unicorns across the yellow pages of the pad to occupy herself. Unicorns, or the idea of them, came from a picture book that had been read to her when she was still a pup. Unable to remember what they were called, or so much as the name of the story, she just drew horses-with-horns…

…Mondenkind couldn’t tell the PTA outright what she knew about them. What she’d seen, and who they were, scared her too much for that. Being a child, she had very simple views of the world. Scary people were people you shouldn’t make angry…But, on the other hand, she still wanted to be friends with them; they seemed to like her. And she believed that was good, when people liked her. It was difficult to say the least.

A moon above the black ocean.

Time in a beaker.

Rain in the alley.

Blood into monster...

Memories leaked into her mind, unwanted and unwelcome, and she found herself shivering again, tears forming in her eyes, salty rain in looming blue clouds of melancholy.

Her guard brought her some water in a plastic bottle to keep her rather sedated and happy. For the moment.

“Neigh neigh neigh,” Mond chirped, handing back the bottle after a healthy guzzling, her short legs swinging to keep her constant need to move about at bay. And then she showed them her unicorns, blinking away her tears, trying to look brave. “Look! Look!”

The ‘Colonel’ just sighed. Worn lines of age in his face, accented by the pale shadows that streaked the room like macabre streamers at a party of death, made his disapproving frown come off as even more unhappy. Who knew how long this was going to take. Right now, the only thing that was certain was that the girl would not be staying here much longer. She was wanted elsewhere. Higher powers than the ‘Colonel’ had attested to that.

Rio sat up propped on her left elbow, with her right hand lowered her sunglasses down her face a tad checking out the man before her. He seemed to be shaking a tad so she stood up cringing slightly at her injuries. Luckily she had wiped the blood from her face just before hand. Rio walked towards him, then walked around him inspecting him before stopping infront of him again.

"Are you scared, rookie? Ad ease."

Reno jumped at the alarm in the facility just before entering a room behind the woman from before.

"A002 is trying to escape again...T-9, we'll have to call off your tests for today. Please follow the guards to your ce-...Room, please."

Reno just nodded still looking down as two new guards entered the room. He followed them out and in the direction of his cell, one in front of him and the second behind.

Vinne could be heard halfway across the base his language was so colorful.

Dang that A002 from trying to escape without him! He had been trying that a little while before she came to tis base and this is what? her second attempt.

The young penguin tried morphing his left arm into a javelin, but cried out, as his body was introduced into Mister Electricity and he slumped over unconscious.

The Blades of the Hind Gunship fell to a a dull roar, and then a quiet chatter as they slowed down... Jumping out from the cockpit and landing lightly on the asphalt landing strip Kitt gave the O.K sign to the co-pilot...
-Kzzch-<"Run post-diagnostics, and check oil levels... we've come a long way and i think the calibrator might have gotten busted up..."

The co-pilot nodded in return, not bothering to use his own com-system.... As Kitt started to walk away from the helicopter, a dark green military jeep rumbled up over the tarmac. The door opened and out stepped a wolf, who briskly called Kitt to a salute, and ushered him into the vehicle...
"We're currently dealing with an issue, and so you will have to wait in the recruitment office for a little while Mr.Szvarda... We are most pleased you made it however, your flight records are quite astounding..."
Frowning and shrugging at the same time, Kitt pulled off his aviation helmet and visor, and looked out the tinted jeep window as the driver pulled away from the landing strip...

"Just touch the tips of your fingers together... thats good.... stretch your arm out to here.."
Following the scientists intructions, Jesse sighed internally.... the tests where monotonous, and it wasnt even as if she could get any better at them.... they had deemed her sub-worthless after discovering what her only 'ability' was.... So every day consisted of minor tests like these, and occasionally more interesting, though no less repetitive simulations or drug tests.... "Does this hurt?"... She shook her head, accompanied by a quiet "No..."

The scientist nodded, noting somthing down on his clipboard..."Now... we're going to move on and..."  A claxon sounded, accompanied by the beep of a pager and the scientist looked down... frowning her looked back up at his test subject... "Okay, We'l continue testing later subject #A666..."

And with that he walked out of the room, the door sliding closed behind him.... Wondering what would make the scientist leave so urgently, Jessica sat down against the wall, pulled her legs up to her chest and sighed... Reaching for a tattered book that lay on the floor, she turned to her marked page, and continued to try and read....

Entaru listened as he heard the annoucement over the intercomm.

-Subject A002 has left her cell, anyone encountering a large black draconian, must immedeatly open fire, and keep her away from Subject R-E257.-

Entaru cocked his head as he looked at the intercomm.  A002....A002....A002....A002....R-E257....R-E257....R-E257....R-E257....please take a number, the doctor will see you shortly.  Dr. Shortly to the operating room, you're mother is on the line.  Line, fine, tine, dine.  Let us dine Ms. Macky, in honor of that suit so tacky.  Tick-tack, tick-tock...where's my watch?  What watch?  That watch!  I don't see a watch.  The watch!  The watch!  The man on the watch!  The man on the watch is a dangerous man.  Dangerous men are on the watch and the watch ticks, ticks, ticks, away until the end and the birds fly into the sun...

With a shriek Entaru ended his inner rant and slammed his head into the door.

"What the hell!"  The guard jumped away from the door, startled by the bang.  "That's it, someone else can watch your crazy ***!"  With that the guard scampered off, fearing for his own sanity.  It wouldn't be the first time a guard chickened out of that job....others had been discharged.  Entaru's mind had a habit of leaking out into the rest of the world, sometimes into the guards themselves.

Maybe the man was a coward...but at least he would be discharged as sane.

Yurian finally got out of the rather maze-like structure that was attached to the room he had left from.

You think they'd put more doors in here... he thought as he walked out onto the air-strip, only to be met with about a dozen or so rifles pointed at his head.

"Uh... I'm innocent?" he almost muttered as one soldier motioned for him to take his helmet off.

"Um, my superior said I had to wear the helmet under all-" He brought his hand up to block a soldier from the right as he brought his gun down to knock him out.

"Seriously, I can't take the helmet off, the visor isn't even engaged, see?!" He reached under the helmet, pulled down the visor, then pushed it back up again.

"Why don't you just go back downstairs so we don't have to make this bloody..." The middle soldier said, not moving his barrel away from Yurian's head.

"What are you talking about, I'm Specialist Yurian Ashecrov, Master Sergent just gave me my files just a few moments ago!!" It didn't seem to help things as they started mumbling about 'A002' and 'taken over' while still refusing to lower their guns.

It was times like this where he wished he could to have been born a different dragon...

Ellina seeped her way into ventilation before spreading herself along the walls, using all her olotogical cells to pick up her beloved Moon's voice. When that failed, she 'turned off' the sound and 'turned on' the sense of smell, picking up a trail leading from Moon's cell, to the elevator. In any dead-quiet halls, a  sickeningly squishy slinking could be heard as she dragged all her 'body' throught the ducts and to the elevator shaft.

Now, did you go to hell, or heaven? she mused as she forced four tendrils of tissue through the grate and formed a single eyeball that looked down to find only a flat surface. She then looked up and felt a mix of anger and joy, mingling in a solution of concern as she saw the elevator shaft go up towards darkness, with a small flicker of light where she assumed would be the 'outside'. Her child had gone 'outside'; but she was not safe, not safe at all. She then gathered herself back into a more condensed mass before forcing herself to 'climb' up the shaft by clinging to the metal surface with pure friction, leaving the others to find their own way to the surface.

Reno had gotten to the corridor of his cell, still being led by the guards, he eyed a few other cells along the way with occupants in them. He didn't get enough time to get a good look, merely a glimpse, enough to know that someone was inside though. As he was led into his cell he saw the rookie guard from before waiting outside the door. The two guards left Reno in his cell, exited, locked the door and left. The rookie guard was standing watch, as the two other guards left out of sight he unlocked the door and entered Reno's cell.

"Think you can shock me and get away with it?!"

Reno just shook his head "No" as it still hung low. He was standing in front of his chessboard when the guard punched him in the face knocking him over the chessboard and onto the ground. As Reno was on the ground the guard marched over and kicked him in the gut, sliding him into a corner.

"Not so tough now, huh?! You freak!"

Reno curled into a ball in the corner and shook his head "No" again. Satisfied, the guard turned, kicked over Reno's chair and left the cell, locking it behind him.

The jeep rumbled over the dirt track, as Kitt sat back in his seat... over ten hours of flight had worn him out, the Hind was a fast, but difficult vehicle to use...
"Mr.Szvarda.... it says here in your details that you flew your first helicopter at the age of thirteen... that is quite astounding..."
Kitt looked up at the corporal, shrugging nonchalantly... "I like to fly helicopters... start from young age is good..." The corporal frowned lightly, but nodded... "Yes well... we just need to sign you up formally... and then we can get started on training... though i have a feeling we might not have much to train you that you do not already know..."
It was Kitt's turn to frown, tapping impatiently on his flight helmet... "No... always there is more to learn.... i am good pilot, i know this... but i still have more to learn, things you cannot learn through teaching... sir..."

In her cell Jessica pored over a page of her tattered book... One word in particular had stumped her, and she mouthed over and over silently in an attempt to work it out... She barely looked up as someone was bustled past her cell by two guards... When reading she was in her own world, the world created by the author... A world where she was not trapped by walls and doors, free within this whole other world....
The door opened and closed, as the scientist walked back in, clipboard still in hand... "Ah.... I see you are reading again #A666"
Looking up from the book, she flicked her tail in semi-annoyance... she wanted to read in silence...
"I do have  a name..."
The scientist smiled bitterly, scirbbling somthing down on his clipboard... "Yes... Jessica Pawsman... Interesting, as it is the name of the character in the book you are currently reading... we have made note of this..."

After awhile of being alone in his cell, Reno got to his feet. He left his corner, ears still hung low as he propped back up his chair. After the chair he set up the chessboard and reset a game. But before he sat down he scooped up what he could of the sunflower seeds back into the bag. Once Reno returned to his crouched position on the chair he ate a couple sunflower seeds whole before moving his Knight out into the field.

Rio looked at Charles with a sneer and looked back at her things on the beach. The towel was scrunched up from the scuffle, the umbrella tipped over and her basket of various things tipped over. Noticeably a small brick of C4 had fallen from her basket with many other wires and electronic pieces, sun screen, lotion, pack of gum and various other feminine beauty products. She looked back to Charles, removed her sunglasses and smacked him on the forehead with them before hanging them on her shirt between her breasts.

"Grab my stuff and follow me, move it, rookie!"

Rio walked off with a snicker, she was going to enjoy this new recruit. Even if it meant working him to death.

As Rio walked on, Charles cursed silently under his breath as the C4 brick fell out. Carefully scooping it up, and then scooping up the feminine beauty products and the rest of her crap, Charles marched in step behind her while helping himself to her Tropical Fruit Bubilicious. If she was going to be cruel, malicious, and evil, Charles at least wanted to give her a reason to do it. He felt it justified things. And besides, he got a sweet look at her behind now.

He wished he could've grabbed the sunglasses from her hand, but then he would get in trouble due to how AWESOME the military was when it came to rankings.

Moaning, Vinne woke back up, grumbling to himself in pain, and with a pair of swears, stood up and sat on his cot. His spine still tingled from the shock and it felt really odd. He stood up as his door was opened and a scientist walked in with a pair of guards.

The man said not a word but moved his finger upwards, and Vinnie followed the gesture and voluntarily followed him, the guards just there to make sure Vinnie didn't stab anyone. While he was walking, he got a glimpse of a rabbit playing chess electronically, and he practically heard that creepy guy talking to himself and his puppets.

Yurian raised a talon when the soldiers stopped conversing amongst themselves. Their guns only lowered a few since he still hadn't shown any signs of hostility, which was unusual for the profile of Subject A002, whom would have already tried to infect them all in one attack. However Yurian only saw that the girl he was after, had jumped into the water, and he wanted to make sure she didn't drown from the fall.

"May I have permission to read my file to see when I'm allowed to take off my helmet?" He slowly shifted his head around to see if he was allowed, and he finally got a nod from the only one dressed slightly different from the rest. He opened his jacket to show the folder sleeve, then opened the sleeve before sliding out the file. He then opened the file to see any exceptions to the 24/7 helmet rule.

"I have permission to take off my helmet for sleeping, and for identification... Ah, guess I can" He put the folder back quickly and then looked at all of them again before sliding off his helmet.

A few of them mouthed 'Oh %$&#' when they saw that not only had they gotten the wrong color of dragon, but someone whos features only barely resembles A002's.

"C-carry on, SPC Yurian..." the middle soldier said before they walked past him with a mixed feeling of idiocy and relief. Yurian quickly put his helmet back on and sprinted towards the girl he saw earlier, perfectly ready to make a good first impression but also a bit concerned about the height of the drop.

Ellina finally stopped when she arrived at the floor where her Moon's scent was again traceable. She made her way to a room with- Moon! my beautiful Moon!.

But, she had to keep herself from shooting out of the vent and embracing her since she was not only easy to excite, but there was someone else in the room. She would have to use all the stealth at her command to use the element of surprise to any decent effect.

However, she could not consciously stop her scent glands, which gave her away to anyone who had personally encountered her up-close.

After awhile of playing, Reno had lost. Resetting the game with one hand he starting eating some sunflower seeds with his free hand.

"That alarm...It's...Getting quite annoying..."

Once he was done resetting the game he looked around the room. Unfortunately there was nothing he could do about the speaker embedded into the ceiling. It was secured behind a steel grating, out of his grasp. The reason his room was void of any electronics was the sole reason of his curiosity towards them. He enjoyed very much to use his power to turn all the things in his room into robots, once he turned his TV into a bomb and sent his guards to the infirmary. He didn't mean to though, he was developing his powers. But soon after that they limited him to a certain area in which to test his powers. Often it is used as a bribe for Reno, it's filled with all kinds of games and other electronic devices. Reno sighed, put his sunflower seeds beside him in the chair and stood up. He paced back and forth on the side of the chessboard before finally walking to the door. He peered through the barred window and looked at the guard across from the door eating and drinking. He saw Reno looking at him, stood up and walked over to him. He held up a can of Coka-Cola and waved it around a bit.

"Want this?"

Reno nodded, watching the soda as the guard moved it around teasing him. The guard sneered, unlocked the cell door and opened it. Reno stood there, looking him over without moving his eyes or head, just focusing on the soda but using his peripheral vision to see the entire guard. Considering this was the rookie guard from before Reno expected what was about to happen. The guard held the soda in front of him, continuing to wave it around.

"Go ahead, grab it."

Reno reached for it as he kept moving it out of his reach. But Reno was using a certain pattern to get him to move the soda closer to his shoulder so he could touch the guard's radio. Soon enough the guard punched him in the face, giving Reno the opportunity to just barely touch it. Reno fell flat on his back.

"Too slow, freak!"

The guard closed the door, locked it and went back to his food and drink laughing. Reno felt his nose, it was bleeding. He just figured it a price to pay to get done what he needed to get done. He stood up and walked over to his bed and sat down, wiping his nose occasionally.

As Rio walked towards her jeep she looked in it's mirror to see Charles following and checking her out. She smirked, cracked her neck and flicked her tail. She went to the back of the jeep, opened the tailgate and walked to the driver's seat motioning for Charles to put the stuff in the back. Her jeep was a dark blue Rubicon with no doors. Rio slid into the driver's seat, took out her keys and stuck them in the ignition. She then waited for Charles.

Vinnie was taken to an well enclosed white room. The scientist walking with the guards and Vinnie himself unshackled Vinnie's 'failsafe' and led him further into the room.

"We need to see whether or not your powers actually do damage.."  The scientist said.
A ballistics gel dummy was dragged into the room, and Vinnie was instructed to stab it. He obliged by forming his left arm into a spear, but instead of stabbing the dummy, he lunged and stabbed the scientist instead.
He smiled as a pair of guards, the same two from before walked into the room, pistols drawn.

Rio glared over at Charles as he got into the passenger seat. She quickly pulled her sunglasses from her shirt, flipped them open smacking Charles in the head again and put them on.

"You have to earn front seat privileges, rookie."

Reno sat on his bed with his eyes closed, concentrating. He was listening to the guard's radio as it was transmitted through both radio and Reno's ear. There was another disturbance, one of the subjects just killed a scientist and is at gunpoint. The rookie guard wanted some action so he ran off to join the others. Once there the guard's radio jiggled a little, a lens formed on it. Reno opened was now looking through that lens using it as a camera to see what was going on. Vinny was facing off against now three guards. Reno didn't want to harm  anyone but he didn't want to let Vinny get hurt either. Soon the radio shook a lot, attracting it's wearer's attention. He smacked the radio off of his shoulder and it quickly morphed into a little robot with sharp spikes for hands. The guards changed their attention to the bot as it jumped onto the rookie guard's leg and started to shank him, dropping him to the floor.

Charles sighed as he rubbed his head and moved to the backseat. Such a strict new superior for his newest assignment. But it does beat being shot down over enemy territory or being wasted by a SAAM.

________________________________________________

Vinnie and the guards were thoroughly confused at the radio now sparking to life and now shanking.  The penguin surmised it as someone indirectly helping him, and changed his hands to pipe wrenches and smashed the other two guards in their faces, painting the once bleached room, a new shade of red. The door was locked but not a problem, for Vinnie changed his arms to a huge sledge hammer and begin to bash it open with repeated smacks.
Title: Re: Twice to Ahead
Post by: Srgntcuddles on June 27, 2010, 09:32:51 PM
The robot stopped shanking the guard and crawled along the ground and looked at Vinny smashing the door. Reno was still able to see and hear everything going on. Thankfully he didn't kill the guards and wasn't hurt himself. But the rookie guard was still conscious, though in pain. He grabbed his gun, cocked it and shakily pointed it at Vinny. As he was pulling the trigger Reno made the bot lung at the gun and stick it's arm down the barrel. The gun went off, jammed and fell from the guards hand with the force.

Rio chuckled at Charles' dismay and started the jeep.

"Going to do a few things. You get to tag along, rookie."

She put it in gear and drove off out of the parking lot. After some driving along the tarmac a caravan of black SUVs cut her off. There was four of them as they drove off towards a distant building. Rio swore under her breath and went went back to driving until she pulled up to the barracks. She parked, turned the jeep off and hopped out.

"C'mon, rookie."

She walked inside and headed towards a bunkbed in the center of the room on the wall. There were several other bunks along with many other soldiers. Three of them in particular were particularly interested in her. They were the three from the beach. Rio snickered as she passed them as the stood next to their bald friend's bunk with him lying in it. She reached her bed, kicked open a trunk at the foot of it and reached inside.

Moonchild felt a feeling like a lingering spider crawl up her back, tickling as it went, and her fur bristled. She blinked. There was...something like a familiar smell in the air, but she couldn't put her finger on what it was...

She folded her hands in her lap. She drew in a deeper smell of whatever it was. It became more familiar the more she was exposed. "Mr. Colonel...."

"What?" For several minutes now, he had been shuffling with intent through the papers on his desk, and, now, as he turned back to her, she could clearly see an image scrawled across one of those pages he held. A unicorn. Only, not like the unicorns she had been drawing. This one had about him an air of ferocity, drawn in thick black ink, given an unholy expression---his mouth contorted into a scowl of hate...he stood on the edge of a dark cliff, a sea roiling below....why did he have a picture of a unicorn? Weren't these military  people supposed to keep their feet on the ground, their heads far below the clouds?

Before she could get anything more out of looking at it, he hid the large bristol board under some manilla folders.

"Back." Moon said. She fidgeted...The curiosity at what she had seen could wait, though doing so was going to be difficult..."Back."

"You don't want to go back home already, do you?" The Corporal smiled while he slid some files across the glass desktop. He did not look at her. "You go back, and you'll just have to do more testing. And we both know that's no fun. Besides, we just barely started talking to each other about---"

She cut him off. "Back."

Then the smile was gone. Then he did look at her. This was short lived, however. Promptly an automated beeping caught his attention, staccato, cutting through the dim silence. Ellina was rampant, possibly above ground now, possibly... Moon had to be kept away from her at all costs. Expression grim, the Corporal darted to her and heaved her to her feet by her arm, and started yanking her towards the door. He had already signaled for guards to assist him, which would be arriving in thirty seconds, no more or their job would be on the line.

Now Moon knew what that smell had been. Being yanked away, tripping over her huge tail as she went, she felt glad knowing Ellina had gotten out....

Ellina saw the man suddenly get out of his seat when the alarm finally reached the room. The grate of the air-conditioning gave way to her form as she literally spilled out of the air duct, swirled into a single tentacle, and wrapped her one appendange around the man's neck. As she felt his consiousness slip away, she 'cut' open his jugular vein as half of her body forced itself into the man's bloodstream. The other half went back up into the vent and divided off in several directions to create a distraction as she slowly remade her body while being covered under the corpral's clothing as her cells went to work of not only extracting information, but imitating the person himself. The 'Corpral' then lessened his grip on Moon, but was still putting up the act of trying to force her out of the room.

Yurian tried to skid to a stop, but ended up falling into the shore that the girl was just leaving. He lifted his head out of the water, not bothering to wipe off the droplets on his 'visor'. "Yurian... uh, do I need to close my eyes, or are you wearing clothes?"
Title: Re: Twice to Ahead
Post by: x on June 28, 2010, 05:28:51 PM
When he lessened his grip, the girl stopped. Moon planted her feet down obstinately and refused (as much as she could) to go any further, wondering what was going on around her...it was all too fast. "Ellie? Ellieee..." Moon called weakly. Ellie was what sufficed when the child could not properly say "Elli-na" without getting tounge tied. She knew Ellina was there. But she didn't know where.

___________

Anna heard the call and squinted. She sure hoped he was wearing clothes. Even if he wasn't, the Yurian's situation was far too hilarious for her not to get out a few heaving chuckles..."What an idiot..." she said under her breath. She was curious as to what his eyes looked like, behind that visor. Then a girl in a bikini...dang were there too many of those around there...ran up to her, breathless.

"We have to leave," she announced. "There's a lockdown."

"Holy Jesus," Anna turned away from the dragon who randomly dropped in on her and to the girl, then back again. "What the hell is this, a state penitentiary?"

"Procedure."

"Whatever." She motioned to the dragon who'd fell in the water behind her. "Hey, helmet-boy. We have to go back to our rooms...would you like to ride back with us?" She had no idea where Yurian had come from or why he'd fell in behind her or what he wanted, but there had to be a reason and she needed to find out.

"Well... that all seems to be in order Mr.Szvarda.... of course officially you are still a part of the Slovakian Military, and we will have to run a few... test... before taking you on as a pilot.... until then consider yourself an honorary member of our flying squadrons..."
Kitt frowned, but shrugged... "Whatever..... and my chopper?"

The corporal stopped collecting up the forms, and shrugged as well... "You can keep it.... Its good to have another helicopter at the base... especially a Hind... in fact, there is someone who wants to talk to you about that. We may need your flying skills earlier than expected Mr.Szvarda..."

It was then that the Claxon sounded: "Lockdown... Lockdown"

Kitt looked at the corporal... he frowned... "You'd better come with me..."

Ellina made the corpral's head nod and then gently tugged her to follow as the guards came into view. Another part of her main body had been hiding in the duct, waiting for the guards to arrive; All the parts could act independant of Ellina, or were technically Ellina in the literal sense. They all made sure that the one 'devouring' the Corprol would be allowed safe passage by intentionally sacrificing themselves as this one did before the guards could get a good look at the Corprol. "We'll cover you sir, theres a back-door entrance down the left corridor!" one of the soldiers shouted as he fired on the almost writhing mass, which didn't even seem to try latching onto the now panicking guards. The 'Corprol' smiled and saluted the two rather lazily before leading Moon away from herself in the most ironic sense of the situation.

Yurian was holding back a wide grin as he could hardly believe how the situation started from 'bad' with the guard incident, and then turned 'great' as the one woman he actually fancied was now offering to let him ride with her! "Sure!" he almost yelled as he got up, showing a hint of the actual retracted visor if anyone stared at him long enough to watch his entire rise out of the water.

As Kitt stepped back into the Jeep with the corporal, two scientists stood at the window, watching him leave.... Another sergeant looked to them "Is that him?"

The scientists looked to each other, and then back at the Feline closing the door behind him... "It is hard to tell... they do bear a certain resemblance.... but without DNA sampling it is not possible to be sure...."

The sergeant growled, chewing on his cigarette... "Is it him.. or isnt it?"

The left scientist stuttered, holding his clipboard defensively... "I would hazard a guess at... yes.... that is him..." the sergeant nodded in approval... "Fine... i shall get the DNA sample for you.... you two prepare a cell, as well as the test apparatus.... if that is him.. he's more valuable than just any helicopter pilot..."

-----

Underground the light strips flickered and buzzed, as Jesse was lead down a winding concrete corridor... The guards walked ahead and behind her, while the scientist walked alongside her, always scribbling on his clipboard... "Now.... This test.... It may be rather painful.... But nowhere near as painful as if you tried to escape... so I'm warning you, no funny business..."
Jesse looked over at him, and nodded resignedly... every now and then the scientist would conjure a particularly harsh test... She walked silently, tail flat against her legs....

Suddenly the scientist cried out in pain, his white coat slashed across the chest as blood soaked the material... Jesse had moved, faster than fast and in the blink of an eye the Guard in front of her had his neck twisted with a sharp crack... She turned to face the other three, one lunged for her, only to find himself catching hold of thin air... he hit the wall with a dull crunch. The second guard swung out with his baton, and caught the surprised feline across the side of the head... Jesse gave a faint... "Ouch..." before crumpling into darkness and blotches of bright colour....

As Rio was getting a set of clothes out of her trunk the lockdown was initiated, making her stop. She sighed, closed the trunk and laid down on her bed. Another lockdown, like usual it would be boring. Without something to do, she might think of blowing up the guys from before, who were actually glaring at her very evilly.

Reno's robot's arm was now wedged in the barrel of the gun, weighing it down. Reno also heard that there was a lockdown going on over the radio, but it was hazy, he was losing control of the bot. He made the arm of it fall off so he wasn't weighed down by the gun, it then scurried over to the guard and stabbed him in the shoulder. Once the guard passed out from blood loss Reno dismantled the bot just before he lost control. Reno fell over on his bed holding his head.

"Too much...I 'ope 'e's alright..."

He rolled off the bed and walked on his knees over to his sunflower seeds. He grabbed the bag, scooped out a handful and put the bag back in the chair before going back to his bed. Reno laid there with a headache eating the seeds one by one whole.

Vinnie had hammered the door open, and bolted down the hallway, doing his best to avoid guards, but it was a lot harder then he thought. Two rushed him, pistols drawn, and this time there was no little droid to assist him. He molded his left arm into a shield as the bullets started flying, and molded his other arm into a zwielhander. The guards shooting at him tried to get around his shield, but there wasn't enough space, and when they needed to reload, Vinnie took down his shield and made the zwielhander with both arms and brought it down on the one guard. The man was caught unprepared and his stomach was slashed open.

As he lay screaming, his compatriot had reloaded and fired a shot at Vinnie, the bullet hitting him in the thigh. Vinnie let out a scream, and then slashed the guard's legs out, making him useless and spraying the hallway with a new coat of red 'paint'.

Vinnie looked to his left and saw a young rabbit boy cooped up, eating sunflower seeds. He decided to 'knock' on the door, with a sword to get his attention.

Charles looked at the men glaring at Rio, and then looked back as the Sarge was calm and collected about it.

"I'm assuming you knocked that one guy out?" he asked. By the way they were eying her, they wanted a fight, Round 2 was about to happen, but this time it was three vs two. Charles wanted to make a good impression with the neighborhood badass so she wouldn't tear him to pieces later. Charles said no more words as he twiddled his thumbs, waiting for something to happen.

Reno didn't expect a knock, startled he fell on the floor. He quickly got to his feet to see who it was. It was Vinny. He was glad to see he made it out of his previous encounter. He looked at him, ears still hung low. He was too nervous to say anything to him, so he just looked at him, eventually noticing he was wounded. Though he still didn't say anything, rather took a step back.

Rio sat back up after noticing the three from before were on their feet and walking towards them. She herself stood up and met them in the middle of the room, already drawing eyes on them.

"Hey there, love. Came back to give you some special lotion."

Rio put her hand to her ear as if she didn't hear him.

"What's that? Can't hear you. You want to get your (Censored) kicked again? Was that it?"
"Got yourself a new (Censored), have you, Winterwolf?"

Rio looked at Charles then back to the bald man who said it.

"He might be a little wet behind the ears, but he can fight. Much better than the three stooges, that is."

Angered, the bald man ran at Charles. And the man who made the first comment ran at Rio.

"Don't let me down, Rookie."

Rio quickly ran at her opponent and they both started exchanging blows. Rio dodging or blocking all of his.

Vinny noted that the little bunny didn't say anything.
"Are you the one who sent that little robot?" he asked. He didn't like anyone here, but someone helping him was a welcome change of pace. He looked at the rabbit and also noted he looked very frightened.
"Stand far back" Vinny ordered, and waited for the bunny to do so as he made his arms into a large blade and aimed at the door latches.

Charles sprung from his seat and side stepped the punch coming from Baldie. He threw a left hook, in the man's gut, and followed up by shouldering him to the ground.

Reno nodded at Vinny's question and then order. He stepped as far back as he could and waited.

Rio continued to dodge the man's punches and kicks, countering with her own punches and kicks. By this time a large circle had formed around the five of them, cheering on Rio and Charles who they referred to as "New guy". The third man who was looking at his friends getting whooped wanted to step in, but didn't know who to go after. Soon he decided to go after Charles, because Rio would surely clobber him. Rio popped her opponent in the face with a right jab. After that she lowered her guard and cocked her head to the side.

"C'mon, get at least one hit in." Rio tapped her cheek, mocking the man who was stumbling a bit. He took his chance he punched her. She came back from the blow with a grin on her face. She wiped the blood from her lip with her thumb. "You still hit like a girl." The man came at her again, attacks still dodged and countered.

Vinny jammed the blade into the middle of the hinged, and dragged it upwards and tore the rest of the hinges off. He then tapped the door and it fell inwards."What's your name?: Vinny asked, stepping over the on the ground door with a clank, as his arms went back to normal. The alarms were still blaring, and the guards would come quickly.
"Ready to get outta here?"

Charles caught a fist to the face from the new opponent as he was caught off guard. Baldie took advantage of this and tripped Charle's legs out and tried to pin him, but all that time watching UFC helped Charles keep the man off, and he gave the new fighter a painful looking upkick to the chin. He rolled away from Baldie's grasping hands and stood back up. Again he repeated.

"Come on Baldie!"

Reno didn't answer give Vinny his name, rather a nod to let him know he was ready to leave. He grabbed his shoulder and kind of looked around avoiding eye contact with Vinny because he was nervous.

Rio delivered a sweep kick to the man, tripping him. He fell on his back and she turned to the man with hair Charles was fight. She walked over to him, turned him around and punched him in the face. Just after she did that the man she tripped had gotten back up and grabbed her from behind.

"Ooooh, I can enjoy this position!"

The man Rio just punched came back at her ready to punch her while she was held. But she jumped up and put the approaching man in a headlock with her legs. The man holding her let her go in hopes it would do something. But she only fell into the drop using the momentum to throw the man she was holding into the other man's gut. They both hit the ground and they all got back up to square off again.

Ellina managed to get Moon through the rest of tha base with no issue, thankful that all of her 'selves' have taken little to no real damage, even though being shot up by bullets. She went to a trailer home that she 'remembered' as the corprols, taking the key out of his pocket and unlocking the door while pushing Moon gently in. She then went into the room and locked the door behind her after closing it again. She 'recalled' two of the three distraction blobs, wanting to get back to her normal state as soon as possible...

"I'm sorry for scaring you, I just couldn't control myself once I  saw that man try to take you away... can you forgive me?" she asked as her facial features started to surface on the corprol, making him more and more draconic as well as a few shades grayer.

Moon felt immensely more relieved than upset at the sight of Ellina, and, without replying or batting an eye, she jolted forward and wrapped her arms around the dragon in the best sort of hug. For some reason, she didn't feel the need to ask how 'Ellie' had got to her or what was going on...an air of contentment settled onto her, soft as silk, and even the screaming alarm faded into the distance while she embraced her 'mother.' Something she got to do far too little.

________

"Get over here, then!" Anna waved for Yurian to follow her, smiling. Her mind was already hard at work coming up with evil ways in which she could trick the helmet-wearing man into doing her chores or homework for her once they got back to the 'dorms.' Promptly she turned and ran for her Jeep, parked at the side of the dirt road. It wasn't like what she planned on doing was mean, was it? Besides, she needed the help, and this guy was conveniently hitching a ride with her.

It wasn't mean, it was destiny!

Giggling, she climbed into the driver's seat and buckled herself in. She set her bag and towel in the back seat before switching the engine on. The Jeep purred to life...And Anna purred with anticipation.

Yurian, not really good at reading people, got on all fours and shaked the water off before going back on two legs and getting into the 'shotgun' seat. "So, what brings you to such a deserted land?" He casually said as he took off his helmet, to knock the water out. It was only a few moments after that he realized he messed up, but didn't let on that it was a bad move as he casually put it back on.

Ellina momentarily lost control of her 'conversion' rate, and the corprol's body was quickly turned into the dragoness as she hugged her Moon back. By this time, the two bio-gels had moved from the vents of the complex to the front steps of the trailer. Ellina was still wearing the corprol's clothes, but the socks and shoes had fallen apart as her talons busted them open. The gels had fully seeped in when she finished changing, and one turned into a copy of the corprol while another went to the A/C, and slipped an array of fiber-like eyes through the grate to see if anyone was approaching the trailer.

Ellina herself lifted up Moon and carried her to a window as she slid the curtains back so they both could see the 'outside' that she knew Moon would have loved to see. "Do you think it ends at all?"

Rio stood over the two that she had whooped once again. Cracking her knuckles she chuckled victoriously.

"Stay down now, if you get back up I'll break your legs."
"WINTERWOLF!" barked a German Shepard walking towards the gathering of men. He was in a standard green attire with a few visible medals and other things pinned to his shirt. A distinct feature of his was his hat that bore a symbol for Captain.

"Officer on deck!" shouted one of the men gathered around. Every single person in the room saluted and stood at attention, even Rio.
"Captain, sir!"
"Ad ease!"

Everyone stopped saluting and standing at attention but remained there to see what was going to happen.

"Winterwolf, are you beating up recruits again?"
"Sir yes, sir! Permission to speak freely, sir!"
"Granted."
"These rookies started it, I merely defended myself. They continued to attack even after I left them the first time. This time they wanted revenge it would seem. Once again, I defended myself and my new recruit. Though he seemed to handle himself well even without me."
"Very well then." he said solemnly. He then turned to the three that had been attacking the two.
"Stop getting your (Censored) kicked by girls, Dismissed!"
"Yes, sir!" the three said in unison.
"As for you, Winterwolf, stop bunking in the barracks, go to the dorms like you were ordered. You still have a room you haven't touched."
"Sir-"
"As for your punishment Sumner will be bunking with you. That's and order, dismissed!"

The captain turned and walked out of the barracks and everyone went back to doing what they were doing. The three ran off to lick their wounds. Rio walked over to her trunk and put her clothes back in it.

"You alright, Sumner? Didn't get scared did ya?" she snickered turning and starting walking off.
"Oh, and bring my trunk with you. I'm moving."

Nero only had low level clearance in the base...meaning whatever was going on down below, wasn't his problem.  He slumped down on to his bed in the barracks with a groan.  Why does all the interesting stuff have to be so high on the "need to know" chart.  I'm getting tired of shooting stuff that I can't hear scream.  Nero looked around his bunk dejectedly.

He had the bottom bunk, the top was unoccupied...and for good reason.  The top bunk was reserved for his trophies...squirrels, foxes, deer, rabbit...anything that decided to poke its head out that was in range of Nero's rifle.  Some of the trophies were stuffed and properly preserved...but most were beginning to rot.  None of his superior's ever scolded him about his collection, many of them afraid they might become a part of it.  Nero chuckled at the thought of a cowering officer and turned in his bed for a nap.

The walls around Entaru's room were now covered in claws and faces.  Some of the faces the guards recognized as their own as swarms of cockroach-like creatures began to pour from the mouths.

"Can anyone read me!?  What's going on!?  Hello!?  Somebo...Oh Christ....." The officer trailed off as he saw one of his men begin coughing uncontrollably.  The man doubled over as he screamed in pain.  Suddenly the man's head exploded like a watermelon as a massive centipede burst forth from his neck and began to attack the other men.

Kitt sat in a small medical facility, waiting patiently as a field doctor in khaki uniform took a sample of his blood "What did you say these tests are for?" The doctor looked back at Kitt, carefully transferring the blood to a sealed vial "These are standard tests for our pilots... Nothing out of the ordinary here sir..." Kitt nodded, yawning and rolling down the sleeve of his urban-camo flight jacket "Well hurry up... I have flown here all the way from Europe for this position without any sleep..."

Jessica woke slowly, pain flaring across the side of her head and neck. She tried to sit up, but was restrained by white straps tying her to a steel table. You will be pleased to know that the scientist you savagely mauled is alive and well... and that security footage of your abilities where most, interesting to us..." Rio hopped in her jeep and started it when the captain had walked over.
"Yo, Rio, gimme a lift?"
"I guess...Hop in."
With a quick fist pump the captain ran around to the front passenger seat of the jeep and hopped in. His up tight and formal attitude had faded for the most part. He leaned back in the seat and put his hands behind his head. Rio started driving in the direction of another larger building in the distance.
"So, Sumner, how do you like your mission assignment so far? Rio givin' ya a hard time?"

When Vinny had taken Reno into a room to let a few guards pass he nervously looked at him before looking away again.

"Reno...That's my name..."

He looked around the room they were in, it seemed to be a break room of sorts. A table, a couch and TV, fridge, microwave, coffee and vending machine. Reno looked at all the electronics, he hadn't seen this many in one room for awhile. But the thing that interested him was the vending machine, he walked over with his eyes glued to the sunflower seeds in the lower rows. He merely touched the side of it and stepped back. The vending machine rumbled and started to morph into a larger robot than what he was previously able to make. It was almost Reno's size, just taller and many times bulkier. It bore a cannon for a right hand where as in the left was a shield formed of the reinforced glass of the vending machine. It stood there for a moment and then looked at Reno, Reno tried his hardest not to stare at it, he didn't want to seem rude.

"Uhm...Can I 'ave some sunflower seeds, please?"

The robot rumbled about for a second before shooting a bag of sunflower seeds at Reno from it's cannon hand. He opened the bag and ate a couple seeds happily before letting out a sigh of relief. Almost like someone just having a cigarette after awhile without having one.

"Thanks."

The robot beeped as if replying to him, though it really wasn't saying anything. Reno turned to offer some seeds to Vinny but collapsed on a knee, making the robot took a lot out of him considering he hadn't made something that big in awhile. The robot walked over, shooting a cold soda out of it's hand just far enough to where he could still hold onto it as he pressed it against Reno's forehead. It's mouth that was the little screen that had the numbers read: "Ice cold soda $1.00". Though the robot seemed to act on it's own, Reno was controlling most of it's more complex actions, such as giving him the sunflower seeds and soda for his forehead. It did walk on it's own, and seemed to even transmit the "Ice cold soda" message on it's own.

Anna smirked. She gave him a solid look and started to drive away. "I'm just here for the parties, buddy." She warily took her gaze off of him, and, having seen his dragon-ness...asked, without thinking: "Aren't you dragons supposed to fly? Why are you even in the reserves if you can fly?" Then her face grew red...she should not have been so utterly insensitive.

Ellina grimaced at the prospect of going 'out there', since she recalled what the corporal had for a life. Then she recalled what her first 'victim' had classified her as: Someone created to be the perfect spy/assassin.

"Moon, once we go outside, you must never leave my side. You are too important to me and the bad men we just ran from, to be on your own for too long. Do you understand?"

Yurain's smile flipped as he was reminded as being a 'reserve' member.

"I wanted to fly, but they stuck me on ground forces since some cat already took the last extra plane. Not all bad though, unless you count the fact that they make me wear a helmet since of my race." He figures she already had a good look, and slipped off the helmet since she didn't seem appalled at his 'visor'.

"Sorry if you can't see my eyes, parents said that trying to break the visor usually ends up breaking the skull. So, I look like a jaw with no features, wish I could just pull it off and actually see if my eyes are 'normal'."

Moon nodded slowly yet not reluctantly....she didn't mind having to stay by her side. Not at all. But she did want to know something. "Why am I so important to them? They don't love me." A wave of nausea swept over her, coming from where exactly she did not know, and she shuddered. _____ "Oh." Anna waited a second. She was no good with sympathy. "I'm really sorry. That does not sound fun to have to deal with." A quick turn of the steering wheel announced they had crossed over into the base itself, and another turn announced they were getting closer to Anna's dorms. Her skin bristled slightly. She couldn't lie to and trick this guy. He wasn't like the others, who were total dorks. From what she had witnessed so far, he was awkward, but clearly a good person...unlike some people she knew. Namely her cousin, who ditched her at the sound of the lockdown. But it was her cousin whom she loved...she would give anything for a kiss from him. Or his hand. Ribbons of inert psychosis started to stir inside her.

Ellina fought off a sigh as she forced herself to explain the harsh reality of the situation. "To them we're... investments that have yet to provide a return of equal cost. You were born with your powers, which cost them more than a fortune to fabricate. I however, was modified while still growing. I required more resources to teach me in the way of using my skills than it took to find the correct method to make me. Do you understand what I said? Anna turned jerkily onto a lower concrete flat, yet closer to her dorm. "So....I...I was thinking, helmet-boy, that you could join me for this Lockdown. I mean, it's gonna be awhile....and I have video games. Wouldn't want you to be lonely."

"That does it!  Everyone fall back!!  I ain't risking more of my men.  He's still contained...focus on the other subjects."  The soldiers retreated to the other "problem areas" of the base.  The cancerous area around Entaru's cell continued to grow as the alarm raged on.

It was maddening to him.  For each screech of the siren, a new creature spawned from his brain, each more horrifying than the last.  All of his dolls were huddled in a corner as Entaru thrashed about, vomiting up horrors like his stomach was a twisted portal to hell.  All of the dolls...except one.

"He" was dancing about the room, now fully sized.  "He" was cackling as the creatures bashed themselves bloody trying to get out of the cell, taunting Entaru with his horrible songs.

"He" was awake...and ready to play.

Yurian was pleasantly surprised when she asked if he wanted to room with her, but he quickly shut out his passive thoughts as he directed his gaze back to her. "Sure I'll come along, as long as its just video games...." his voice trailed off as he flashed a rather cheesy smile, which is unusual considering the array of teeth he displayed.

Ellina closed the window they were looking out of, and opened the front door to get a look around. "If memory serves me right, only one or two others are not prone to attack on sight. Beyond that, its better for them to stay down there... and for nobody else to be with them."
