in the dream i walked up to my mother and told her a i was a furry and then go my surprise she pulled out a gun and shot me in the head, but some how i survived and crawled outside begging for help, but noone would help because i was a furry and then the dream ended as i died of blood loss while my family stood over my corpse.
either i play too many videogames or i have anxiety issues :'(

if you don't mind me saying, I believe that you wory to much about what other people think about you, gust be yourself and let other people acept hew you are. hope I helped :3

Nightmares can be pretty jarring sometimes. The best you can do is remember that it isn't real. It didn't actually happen, so there's no need for you to continue feeling scared about it.

i want to be myself im just scared the reaction from others will be a bad one, and quite frankly i already have anxiety issues in social situations so i'd pretty much be screwed unless i just spent my day telling everyone to stfu

i know how you feel my mom would probably lock me in a padded room if i told her i was a furry (scaly :S)
-
As a Scalie i have never dreamed of dying,(my will to live is unmatchable B) ) but i hav had many nightmares of rejection, it can b so horrible, :'(
Im like u in that i haven't told people, ive come very close, but the nerve to actually say it still eludes me, :$
Its ok to talk about it here though so let this b a place 4 u 2 release yurr anxiety, k ;)

ty, i already vent some anxiety by going on the forum, for example i hate making eye contact; partially because im shy, and second after becoming a furry i tend to pay more attention to body language in animals (wolves in particular) and if i look someone in the eye it means i want to challenge them...

I know how you feel, i always was the quiet kid in class and sometimes i still feel uncomfortable in some social situations.
I guess you shouldn,t care to much about what other people think about you. ^_^

Don't be worried about her reactions to being a furry. It's not like it's a bad thing. She'd be enthralled to know that you're not a crack head or planning on being a failure at life. I don't know anything about you're family and your values but if your family isn't disfunctional, understand that your parents should and will love you no matter what.
If I told my mom I was a furry, well, first she wouldn't know what that was. Second, she'd be happy to know I wasn't planning to kill myself or be a garbage man (sanitary engineer. whatever) for the rest of my life when I leave school.
Don't take the crap your parents throw at you. Throw it back in their faces.

That's good to hear. Just remember that you are yourself and that there's not a single person on this earth who has the right to take that away from you. There will always be those who refuse to accept you for who you are, but because it's unavoidable, we shouldn't stress about it. Even if our friends and family react negatively it's not the end of everything, they can be educated if ignorant and may in time come to see it in a better light.

I hear garbage men make good money, actually

I wish my dreams were as logical as yours.... then again, then my nightmares would make sense :o
But really you shouldn't care about the rejection, one thing I noticed is that a lot of people try to act differently, like they say something and someone says something against it, then you agree with them. Ex: "Hey dude, I think those furry dudes look awesome" "Gah, I hate them, they act dumb" "Your right, I was just talkin' 'bout the anthro part and stuff...."
The example is possible, someone starts off and when someone disagrees they change what they said, that's wrong, it should be like this: "Hey dude, I think those furry dudes look awesome" "Gah, I hate them, they act dumb" "Oh well, sucks for you."
It helps with rejection issues a lot. A lot of people feel dumb in social situations because they keep having to do that to make people keep liking them but it's useless, if they don't like who you are then you shouldn't care.
