Title: ATTENTION furry elite, calling all furrys for a special project

Ok so after a recent IRC chat a couple of us have decided to try and make a picture feature all the furrys here on the boards avatars (especially if you have a furry forums shirt) so if you would please post your avatars pic here so we can use it in the pic that would be great. :snicker:

The picture should be posted from  a clear full body shot in the previewer, remember this is gonna be like a camera pic so feel free to pose as long as we do get your full body in the pic and it is resonable size (at least 250x400 or around that size). :squish:

A few rules about the picture.
1. no obscene gestures or worded clothing

2. one avatar entry per person, none of this "well i have 5 furrys" stuff. Â Just send your main fursona for the pic.

3. accessories are welcome if you have them but nothing room sized keep it under the size of a 2 avatar minimum

4. no vices. means no wine glasses, cigarrettes, or anything that promotes drinking, tobacco, or other things kids shouldn't do.

5. Don't copy another persons avatar, If you happen to look similar that is ok but don't purposly wanna spoof another furry for the pic, be your own furry we are trying to include everyone in this as a furry forums family not a clone wars.

thats about it, get to posting and remember if you have a Furry Forums shirt you are encouraged to wear it. Wearing a FF shirt gives you a spot up front. :sparkle:

I accept all picture formats but JPG and PNG formats are prefered.
for those of you having trouble or don't know how to make a screenshot of your avatar this Tutorial (http://www.thefurryforum.com/index.php/topic,1220.0.html) will explain how.

those aren't a very good size tho they are about as small as my avatar pic here. please post one that is near the size of the one that I have, its impossible to edit one that small.

You may also want to move your avitar to the sixth seat so the shadow on the floor doesn't hinder editing.

Drag your window out till it's large.
Pose your avitar.
Hit ALT+print screen.
Open image program that saves decent jpegs.
Upload to your IMVU gallery or hosting site like photobucket.
Grab the links and post them.

almost, needs to be a bit bigger.

minimum of 250X400 size or larger.

we need farely nice detail for editing purposes

If anyone is having troubles getting a quality picture of themselves, let me know. I have a green room I can work with, with a few different poses, plus all of the stock poses from IMVU. I'd be more than willing to help people who don't have image editing software get pictures up for the big furry picture, because I know there's plenty of us on here, but not everyone has the savvy to do a nice pic.

My name on IMVU is the same as the forums: BethanieStealsCheese
I will be on tonight, from 9:00 till probably late. Leave your name here, and I'll get in contact with you, and get the picture done.

Okay, here it is. I chose to do a skunk for a couple reasons.. First of all, because my dragon wings wouldn't fit inside the cylinder of green that comes with the pose accessory I bought, that I wanted to use a pose from. Secondly, I wanted to showcase the variety of furries we have here! So here it is, I left it BIG cause then whoever works on it can get the most detail, and size it if they want.

I don't know about you all, but I've never needed a green screen to edit out the back ground.
I'm not saying I'm good like that (I am though), but useing the white room never realy got in the way.
Useing the magic erase tool set to zero tolerance took away what it was supposed to.
then setting the erase tool to block instead of brush made it easy to cut out what was left.
It's probably because I was running IMVU in standard graphics mode.

I also saved my screen caps in bitmap format before I edited them.

I may have to invite you BethanieStealsCheese to use your back drop though.
That's if I find that running higher settings makes it harder to edit. Too hard to edit.

I do have some photoshop skills not being put to use though. For those that run in standard graphics.
My yahoo mail is daytripfox if any of you need to send me your bitmap screen shot for photoshoping.
My hot mail is danielcook29. I have plenty of space in my inbox.
Just make sure to size your window fairly big and save your screen cap as a bit map.
Crop what's not needed to cut back on file size. Then don't forget to send me a PM to let me know you sent me something.
Use the white room. (customise avitar window) Stand on the furthest seat away from the shadow on the ground.
type *seat 6  or *seat 5 if you have trouble finding those spots.
I'll send them on their way after I clean them up.

If the bit map is too large to email save it as a jpeg with the least amount of compression.

Or if you have a hosting account that allows images larger than 800X600 up load it there and give me a link.
Photobucket resizes anything over 800X600 and recompresses bit maps.

I'm hopeing, crosses fingers, to get online at home tonight.

note that i added a size to be submitted, needs to be big enough that i can edit. a snapshot with the IMVU window will not work that is avatar forum sized and i need at least  250X400 from a screen shot.

You can buy pose packs that you put on link an accessory, and they let you do poses.
SecondHarvest does some good ones! These will put your avatar in a green cylinder that makes them a snap to crop.

You can also buy pose rooms, frozngingerbread has a couple really nice ones, but they are expensive! Anywho, hope that helps!

Ok if your having trouble with this I made a 9 step tutorial explaining how to do it using Windows Paint, which is a program that comes in every Windows program. Simply follow the instructions and you can't mess up, if you have any other questions feel free to PM me with them.

What do you mean you can't figure it out?
Open IMVU.
Launch a 3D window.
Move the mouse to a corner of the window, click and hold while you move the mouse pointer to stretch the window to a larger size.
Dress you avatar how you want.
Move the camera to frame your avatar how you want.
Pose your avatar how you like by either selecting the mood you want doing an action or expression.
When your avatar is just like you like it press Ctrl+Print Screen.
Open an image editing program.
Paste it and save it. Programs normally have an option in one of there edit menus. They are likely to also use the shortcut Ctrl+V.
If you don't use photobucket or anything upload your saved file to your IMVU snapshot gallery.
Grab the link to it and post it.

If that doesn't help.....

Do you really have to press ctrl+print screen though? I have nver pressed the ctrl key when i take a screen shot, lol.  :squish:

yeah but just print screen gets the whole screen if you hold control with it the messenger only copies whats shown in the 3D window

if its cut off there should be a scrollbar at the bottom to scroll over, It shows one for me in both IE and with Firefox.
If not right click it, choose properties, highlight the image address, right click, copy, then open a new window/tab, paste in the address bar and you should be able to see it full screen.
