Lead. Not a bad machine, tho Im not thrilled with Mac's, I only use Windows for games... Other than that I'm more of a Red Hat user, and dang I wish I had a server. I messed with Server 08 at my school when it came out. I still think I like 03 better tho, may be bacause its not running off the vista crud

Very nice PC's and Royal... Thats not too terrible of a laptop. Sure not the best, but sure better than the average persons.

what the flip is that beast, Noke. It looks like a dump truck on fire.

anyway, as much as i can remember about mine.

Intel Quad Core 2.4GHz CPU
4x1GB DDR2 RAM
Nvidia 8800GTS Graphics card
Asus M....something or other Motherboard.
500GB Hard Drive.

but yeah mines getting a bit long in the tooth, and the motherboard has never gotten along with the RAM very well, so its a bit tempermental.

Considering that it was twice the price of my desktop computer and bout 3x slower performance...ur right, not too terrible, but could be better...

Yeah I love my case. Check out how the CD tray opens.

I'm gonna have to put my friend Nick's specs on here. He put in soooo much money into his machine, it's crazy!

Please do not back-seat moderate; as far as I could see TheLeadProgrammer was within the rules. If you feel he spoke inappropriately contact a moderator or use the "Report to Moderator button."

Now for some nice low specs!

My own built desktop:

Plain Cooler master Black case
2GB DDR2 RAM
1 x 160GB SATA HDD (I don't use much memory)
1 CD drive
Windows XP Professional SP 3
NVIDIA XFX 8800 GTX
AMD CPU 2 cores @ 3GHZ

If I had the space in my room I would have built my own computer but as it is I'm stuck with this laptop:

OS: Linux Mint 8 Helena - x64 Edition (heavily altered by me to contain packages from from other distros) & Windows Vista Home Premium (almost never used)
Memory: 4GB DDR3
CPU: 2x Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual  CPU  T3400  @ 2.16GHz
Motherboard: CathedralPeak (Acer), Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset
BIOS: Phoenix (V1.10)
HDD: 320GB Western Digital, Model ATA WDC WD3200BEVT-2
Graphics: Mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset
Ethernet Controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8071 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller
Network Controller: RaLink RT2860
Model: Acer Aspire 5735z
Battery: rechargeable (LION) with 4400 mAh capacity
Casing: Stock
Usable USB 2.0 Ports: 3
DVD/CD drive: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT10N
Card reader: Generic Multicard

Not too shabby for a laptop that I got over a year ago now. Graphics card fails badly for gaming but I can live with it. Vista is almost never used, even for gaming. Hopefully the next computer I get will either be a custom desktop or something I've built, although I must admit I'm more of a software guy than a hardware guy >.<

Did you edit the Linux code or just add stuff after the install? If you modified the distro is there a way I could get the ISO for it? I wouldn't mind playing around with it
