The Migrant Fleet hyperjumped to the Vahallan Threshold system and to the Raheel-Leyya star cluster. Soon after setting the ships to anchor, the Fleet now began the ardous process of using the cluster's twin suns to recharge their solar batteries. These batteries powered the ships when fuel was scarce and handled many internal systems. It was necessary to recharge them once in awhile.
The Conclave has decreed that any returning from Pilgrimage must report to the Rayya to meet with the captain of the ship they wish to join. The Rayya was recently made as the new home of the Conclave, and in a show of power they moved the Pilgrimage location to the ship as well. It's probably better that way. The Rayya is one of the fleet's few Liveships, capable of growing crops and helping to sustain the entire fleet. In a show of gratitude, and a rare time for all Quarians, the Conclave decided to give back the gifts all Quarians have to give, and invited many Quarians onto the Rayya to hold celebrations of the race's continued survival thanks to their ancestors. The ship was large enough, after all it had to grow enough food for around 17 million people.
No one is forced to come to these celebrations, and military personnel refuse to take leave if it might endanger the Fleet. Although they agreed to have some extra leave if they covered for their contemporaries.
This was a perfect time for infiltration by Cerberus. With many overworked traffic controllers and stealth systems recovered and replicated from the destroyed Alliance Frigate, the Normandy. They could slip onto a ship undetected. The small Frigate in which they traveled in moved silently and swiftly, If someone looked out a window and saw them, they would be vaporized immediately. But since celebrations were going on, it was a perfect opportunity.
"Attention Quarians, Friends... Family... The Conclave, with the support of the Admiralty Board, has decreed this week be declared Ancestorial Week. No Work, No worries, just us, celebrating the ancestors who managed to keep this fleet running throughout space and to keep us alive. Everyone is invited to come aboard the Rayya and join the Celebrations!" "Keelah se'lai" happily exclaimed Admiral Kal'Tupha vas Neema. It took quite a bit of convincing of the other Admirals, and some of the Captains of the Fleet. But the Admiral soon reminded them that the Quarian people were growing weary, and needed some way to lighten the burden of daily life. He also reminded them of what happened with disillusioned peoples, and if the people lost hope in the Flotilla, the rest were surely doomed.
-
Ry was the first to enter the closest ship of the fleet, nobody knowing she had a tag-along since she had hailed them in solitude. So, when Orris soon followed her out of their ship, a few, then some, then many Quarians stopped what they were doing, just to gawk at Orris. "I still think this won't go over well..." "They just need to get used to you, at least you have a respirator..." they both mumbled as they tried to ignore the others and head over to where the drinks were being served.
-
One Quarian glanced up at the Turian walking with Ry, and extended a hand.
"Greetings Turian, I am Zeal'Gran vas Neema... engineer, it's unusual to see one of your kind here. What brings you to the Flotilla?"
he asked.
The cloth on his envirosuit covered his head ans parts of his arms, and was decorated in a zig-zagging pattern in a cyan color. His faceplate was the same cyan as the cloth, giving his eyes a faintly blue glow to them. The engineer didn't really see that many aliens on his Pilgrimage, only the Hanar, and those Jellyfish tried to kill him when he tried to transport some Prothean tech back to the Fleet.
-
Orris reached out to shake his hand, remembering the custom from some humans he had worked with. "I helped Ryia get the funds to bring a new starship to the fleet... exactly how many enemies did I make by just walking in here?" "Orris, stop being paranoid and try to enjoy yourself..." Ry bluntly said as she poured her shot down the respirator.
-
"I'd agree with the lady calm down"
Zeal took Orris to the side and whispered "Quite a few... when foreigners arrive here it usually means something bad will happen"
The celebrations had yet to start, for most of the others were still arriving. Drinks were still out, although only the weaker drinks.
The real festivities had yet to begin.
The Cerberus vessel docked with the Neema, it disgorged a portion of it's cargo, and then it left to dock with the Qwib Qwib to do the same.
Operatives in the guise of Quarians had now infiltrated the Fleet.
-
Nero looked about the Rayya as he exited his ship. It had only docked long enough for him to board the Quarian ship before taking off. It would stay just out of sight until he called in the mission's status. His stolen environsuit gleamed silver in the ship's lighting. Along it's trim was a strange red design, organic and flowing but methodical as a machine. Brushing by Orris as he moved along, he wondered what a Turian was doing in the Migrant Fleet. Shaking his head he quickened his pace and weaved slowly through the crowd.
-
Taryn walked off the ship she had previously occupied. The suit she had acquired was a steel gray, with blue accents. These pathetic Quarians. Believing all is well, nothing to worry about. She thought to herself. A quench of thirst dried her tongue. She spotted a place for refreshment and quickly made her way over. She received a shot and poured it down the respirator she was forced to wear. She looked around and sighed as she ordered another.
-
The bartender noticed how the woman was so easily able to down a shot, especially for a Quarian.
"How about something special" he said, mixing a couple drinks together and then sliding the glass her way
"No way she can drink that and stay conscious" he thought, smiling under his helmet.
-
Ryn smiled. "Sounds like a deal..." She took the drink and swigged it down easily.
-
The bartender laughed in delight. Rare was it a Quarian woman who could down 4 drinks mixed into one.
"Ok... for you.. something special. This is ryncol, Krogan whiskey strongest in the galaxy, ten times stronger then normal human drink... if you drink it, you'll set off radiation alarms... shall I pour you a quad?"
-
Orris just tried to keep to himself, then calmed down and smiled when Ry elbowed him. "See, just relax and everything will fix itself you paranoid beetle-head." "Ah Ry, your jests are as stale as this drink, may I have a stronger drink sir?" Ryia huffed through her respirator at his reply, and Orris got an even more visible grin.
-
The bartender spun out a bottle of pure Batarian ale and poured the turian a few fingers and slid the glass over to him.
"Knock yourself out" he said, whether he meant that literally or figuratively, is something lost to time.
Admiral Kal'Tupha vas Neema walked up onto a makeshift stage and began pushing keys on his omni-tool, and soon got access to the ship's intercom. At this time, Most of the guests had arrived.
"Friends... Family... Fellow Quarians. We are here to meet future ship mates who have returned from Pilgrimage, but before we do that, let us thank our ancestors who sacrificed much, to keep us alive. Keelah'se'lai" he said
The crowd answered his prayer with a "Keelah'se'lai"
"First, i would like to call Ryia Eulla nar Drelm to the stage" he said, and a resounding applause went on throughout the crowd. An admiral addressing a Pilgrim himself, must be a very good gift.
-
Nero looked to the stage and grinned under his helmet. Objective 1: Find Admiral Kal'Tupha...successful. Objective 2, Primary: Capture Admiral...in progress Nero ran a checklist in his head and looked over the crowd directly at the Admiral.
-
Taryn smiled. "Pour me a drink sir." She waited patiently.
-
The barkeep obliged by pouring the ryncol into two glasses, then he put them together and shook em up, before pouring it into a smaller glass and sliding that over to the woman.
-
Taryn eyed it for a moment. She smirked and downed the drink. Being a human had it's advantages but those advantages could cause a problem. She put the glass down and shuttered slightly.
-
Orris quickly drank down the glass, anticipating her to shake him about. She didn't disappoint; "Come on, you deserve as much credit, I wouldn't be back in time for this, or might not even be alive if you didn't come with!" Orris groaned as he got off the stool and followed her through the crowd, who was somewhat curious as to why she was dragging that outsider with her. She walked up to the Admiral and pulled Orris close to her. "I can't take all the credit, Orris did at least half the fund gathering for our gift, and kept me alive through it all!" "Is this really necessary? I just want to enjoy the festivities without a shoot-out..."
Sadly, Orris would not get his wish as he was halfway onto the stage, and clearly visible to anyone who would bother to look.
-
Nero was caught off guard as he spotted the Turian making his way to the podium with the Quarian who had been called up. "What is a Turian doing here? To be called up there must mean something important."
-
"Who are you Turian? how did you meet this girl?" the Admiral asked, asking for many of the assembled in the room.
-
Orris looked away before speaking up. "The name is Orris, I met her while on mercenary work, she saved my life in a cave system we traveled through, and I ended up leaving the mercenary work to stay with her and... help her get the starship we arrived in..." "Orris, seriously, stop being so freaking passive, you helped me many more times than I did for you!"
-
Taryn turned to watch what the ruckus was about. A turian was up on stage. She cleared her throat and decided to move on. Her mission had yet to be fulfilled and this attraction gave her the perfect opportunity. She bumped into what she thought to be a Quarian and proceeded onward. Little did she know it was another human.
-
A couple of the Quarians in the crowd cried in outrage. A turian, in their Fleet, not to mention a Mercenary at that. If this Turian was anything like the Blue Suns or Eclipse, he would be shunted out an airlock immediately.
" Settle Down, All of you! Now I know we're unaccustomed to having Non-Quarians on board, but he assisted a member of our people and helped us get a new starship. His mercenary work is not cause to judge him. And this week is supposed to be full of celebrations, not shunning an outsider! Said the Admiral, trying to regain control of the giant Quarian mob. The small Marine detachment began to go through the crowd to calm down the loudest of those outcrying against Orris.
-
"He ga-" she was going to yell back at them, but Orris grabbed her and she immedeatly stopped yelling. "Yelling at angry mobs is the last thing you want to do..." he mumbled, and was dissapointed at their reactions when their cries magnified at the sight of him restraining her. Seriously, I'm not even wearing mercenary armor and they're yelling at me to 'go back' to the Blue Suns...
-
Nero grunted as a "Quarian" bumped into him. He began to weave his way through the crowd, trying to see if there was anything to cause a distraction in the crowd. This was supposed to be a low casualty mission, so he couldn't just drop an EMP grenade and grabb the Admiral in the confusion. He had done it before with good results but the number dead from malfuctioning envirosuits severely cut his paycheck...so no point trying there.
He would have to wait until the Admiral was done with his speech...unless.
Nero...you are just too terrible.
I know, aren't I...
Nero prepared himself and shouted so that the whole crowd could hear. "HOW DO WE KNOW HE'S NOT A TERRORIST! FOR ALL YOU KNOW THEY BOTH COULD BE!! SHE COULD BE LYING!!" Nero quickly ducked into the crowd so he could not be found. The crowd began to become even more unruly.
They didn't trust the outsider...and why should they? Terrorists always struck during some big event...
...he should know...he was one of them.
-
Taryn made her way down the alley way. "There must be a back way to get to the Admiral. He isn't invisible." She said to herself as she began to scale a building, over looking the crowd.
-
Orris turned to the right and tried to get himself and Ry away from the scene, because he knew if more accusations like that flew about, he would probably turn hostile and make the situation worse. Even if I'm being defensive, they'll shoot her and myself on the spot for drawing a weapon... "If you don't mind us doing so, can we get a back-door exit before the guns get pulled out?"
-
Ryn watched as the Turian and Quarian made their way to the exit. "Ah, there is my entrance. I need to make this quick." She pulled out her knife, hidden inside her suit, ready for use on her arm. "Let's get this over with. When should I bring him in?" She asked hitting the intercom placed in her helmet. "Bring him to the alley next to the pub and opposite of the bank." A voice responded. "Alright. Be there within half an hour." She turned the headset off and readied to attack. The admiral walked out with the turian and the girl. "Damn, how am I supposed to get past them..." Ryn growled halting her leap. She watched as the quarian talked to him. They began to walk off, the admiral alone. "Perfect." She dropped down with a light thud. "Sir, I need you. It's urgent." Her voice was perfectly toned. She waited for his response.
-
The Marines in the crowd noticed this new arrival by the Admiral with interest and made their way over to him. After all, Quarians usually don't drop down from nowhere to speak to a man.
"SETTLE DOWN PEOPLE, SETTLE DOWN, THEY'RE FRIENDS OF THE QUARIANS!" The Admiral began to shout before he heard the thud and turned his head towards the new comer. He was sure others saw her too and they did. The woman they were looking at was very unusual. No alarms were ringing, so everyone was safe, no new messages on his omni tool from any of the Captains or Admirals. Something was amiss.
"A strange way to request a face to face Ms...? I won't feel right going with some stranger, Quarian or not." He asked, waiting for the marines to get there quickly.
-
"I don't mean you any harm. I had to come as soon as I could. Please, come with me. I think there is some trouble over by the bank." She stayed towards him. Taryn's voice quivered in false fear.
-
"I never got your name... and we Don't have a bank, at least not on this ship, besides the Marines will be here shortly... wouldn't you rather like some security in law enforcement accompanying you?"
A couple of the marines now made it to the Admiral, and sat back watching the exchange
-
"oh forget it. You're hopeless." She mumbled. "Forget it Sir." She growled slightly and looked at the marines. What do I do now? Damn! "Uh sure. One marine should be plenty." She turned away quickly. "Is a marine fine enough. The admiral is going to be tough to get to..." She waited a response on the headset.
-
"Negative, we need the Admiral" the headset's receiver responded back
"Just Forget it? Just a few moments ago you sounded genuinely frightened... What;s your name" He repeated. One of the Marines sensed something wrong and drew his assault rifle and trained it on the woman. The Crowd gasped at what was going on, if a Marine pointed a gun at another Quarian, something bad must be happening.
-
Orris and Ry just made advantage of the crowd's lack of attention on them, and went down a less-traveled hallway. "Well, that was a nice welcoming..." he mumbled. "Sorry, somehow thought it would go better if we brought a ship back... maybe two would have been better." "I think its just me..." Ry was adamant about wanting him around, since he was currently the only living thing she would like to be around.
-
Nero looked at the newcomer curiously as the Marine readied his gun. He spoke quietly into his intercom "Sir? How many agents do we have on the field for this job?" Nero wasn't sure but this newcomer had already made things difficult for him. If she was Cerberus, then he would have to save her...meaning he would most likely lose the element of surprise (not that she hadn't already taken that away). If she wasn't Cerberus, then the entire Migrant Fleet would be on high alert anyways.
******* great! Just what I needed...more trouble.
-
She turned. "Admiral, it did worry me, but perhaps I looked at the situation with too much worry. I apologize for taking up your time." She looked at the marines. A cynical smile danced in the corners of her mouth but she resisted. "Good day to you gentlemen. Be seeing you around." She turned and began to walk away. What harm would it do if a marine was missing as well as an admiral. It could simply look like an accident. A plan concocted inside of her mind.
-
The Admiral waited for the woman to be out of earshot and turned to one of the of the Marines.
"Have a detail of troops tail her... something's not right about her, if I'm right and she tries something, capture her, if not, then come back. You three, be on extra alert... we usually don't get only one of these wackos" he instructed.
The Marine Sgt. saluted and then went off getting his men together to tail the woman. They would remain in following distance, but far enough away that they would not be seen.
-
Taryn was not so dumb as to think the admiral would let her be without a watch party. She smirked in her helmet and continued walking, as thought no one was following. She walked down the way to a building where she stayed. She entered and went up to her room. There, she closed the door and locked it, then the windows and blinds. Ryn was not in the mood to be 'stalked'.
-
Nero looked at the newcomer curiously as the Marine readied his gun.
"That information is classified operative, if you were captured, you could expose the other field operatives with this information, just know it's a decent number." The Cerberus mission controller responded.
-
Orris went with Ry, to her long-unused personal room. "Wow, this is surprisingly... effeminite..." he mumbled as he walked into her room, which was filled with many kinds of dolls and with a vanity in the corner. "I havn't been here since I left for pilgrimage, and thanks to you I was able to toughen up to the point where this actually disgusts me." Orris walked over to a doll and snapped it in half without even saying a word of apology. Ryia grinned under her face respirator, and joined him in tearing apart all the girly items in the room...
-
...The Rayya having a giant party was extremely unexpected... their resources hadn't suddenly been able to increase..have they? it didn't matter. the Komari did not agree with the admiralty board with their decision to throw a party, and had decided to distance themselves from the fleet for a bit... they'd also stocked up on food and medicine, in case the concave was wrong and people would start starving... given the size of the Komari, A Frigate Weight class, the only people it would be feeding would be its own crew...
They Did, however, have to leave one man behind on the Rayya. He stood at about... 5'5, had a dark green and black color schemed suit (with a custom shield generator.), a dark green visor, His own made shotgun that he FINALLY got to stop exploding and a pistol handed down from his father, both dark green in coloring. It was going to be interesting how many people called him a marine instead of an engineer, providing he doesn't use his omni-tool in their face. "...alright... this is what you've been preparing for... The Wonderful Pilgrimage Of Adelais'Verkan... going to get a wonderful gift, Become Vas something on one of the nice ships and be another great hero for the fleet... Keelah, im still extremely nervous! This self motivational nonsense isnt working....!"
...Yeah. Not a bad choice to leave behind.
-
"Alright, Nero out." Nero turned off his intercomm and looked to the Admiral once more. Now that security had tightened he would have to think of something a bit stealthier than he had originally planned. The "Quarian" had taken his idea...she was a bit more sloppy about it than he would have been, the content would have been completely different, and he would have most likely succeeded, but she took it nonetheless and the same trick almost never works twice. Now what?
-
He soon arrived on the Rayya... the last stop to the migrant fleet the Komari would be making for awhile... Adelais, you better return to us after your pilgrimage!" "never knew you where sentimental now kalmari... heheheh.." "Just call it each looking out for his own." "Well, dont miss me too much when i earn my ship! "heheheheh... I wont... good luck out in the world adelais. Keelah sa'lai. "Thanks... you too kalmari. Keelah sa'lai."
Adelias gave his Superior and one of his best friends a salute, with him returning it... coming to port, he exited the komari and entered the Rayya... he had proper permissions as this was arranged before hand, so no friendly fire here. pretty impressive ship too, given he grew up on a cramped frigate! Everything impressed him from the higher grade equipment (given quarian standards.) to the population count... starting out and already gleeful of the trip ahead. what a great way to start the day.
-
Ryn kept to herself. She slipped off all of her armor and sat down on the worn out couch. "Damn it!" She shouted, her fist slamming the arm rest. "I muffed up and now, I have to hunt a different admiral." She looked around. Taryn wandered to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of whiskey she had brought with her before she left for this ship.
-
Orris and Ryia had now fallen onto the same bed, both wondering what they could make out of the situation. "We could explain our story, like make a report of our six months together..." "Yes, lets hand them the bullets to shoot us with... why not just go to one of the other ships to lay low?" "Eh... I like my idea better" Orris gave her a friendly push as an almost impulsive response. "It was your idea that got us into this mess..." Ry raised her hands in submission as she got up and walked out the door, with Orris in the back as they went back to their ship to re-locate.
-
The Admiral had turned back to the crowd, and began to call for another name.
"Adelais'Verkan Nar Komari is about to embark on his Pilgrimage, would he come up to the podium please. We need to get the boy ready" he said. The discontent in the crowd was erased as they began clapping, another youth going to become a productive member of society.
-
(ah, thanks gabag~)
That broke him out of his fantasizing trance as he heard his named called. "Hmm??? y-yes???" he looked around, reacting sub-consciously like he would on his ship, realizing an Admiral called him name. Oops. he had a mental... sweat drop... as the humans would best describe it, run down his face as he made his way up... good first impression Adelais! "m-my apologizes sir... i-its an honor admiral. he then gave his proper respects before the admiral, as he had the utmost respect for them.
-
"Adelais, so glad you could come, but please don't be so formal, we're all friends here. We're here for your last instruction and equipment check before you embark. Are you ready young one?"
-
He looked over everyone before speaking... damn straight he was ready. Nodding, He whipped out his custom shotgun and gave it to the admiral for his inspection. Obviously, it was different then most with the matching green and black coloring... Obviously Quarian made too from the used materials, which was pretty good for their standards. It had a custom stock, two triggers (one reserved for a special feature.) and beyond the magazine fed thermal clips was a second switch for activating 'carnage', the 'yesterday' technology of shotguns. the right side had purposely had incorporated venting so thermal clips could be saved by a quicker cool down, given their already limited resources. the only real problem with this set up, was it was designed for a right handed quarian. other races could use it, but only if they where right handed, and it would be rather uncomfortable... and he hasn't worked out all the glitches yet...even a few all-nighters cant fix a gun entirely. "i-i've spent years and piles of scrap on that shotgun, constantly modifying and adjusting... i-its my pride and joy and most of my entire preparation process for my p-pilgrimage. T-the rest has gone i-into my shields...nothing special. M-my Pistol belonged to my father, an officer on the komari. H-he's put his confidence in this pistol, so i think i-ill be fine... i-i am however ready to receive my last instructions Si-uh...admiral."
-
"Well my boy, how would you like a refresher training course in the simulator. And Remember, calm down and relax, we're not judging you" The admiral said with a smile, forcibly patting the nervous youth on the back.
Adaran'Zeal vas Rayya was walking along the 'rooms' of each Quarian. He had been attending the festivities, but forgot his omni tool. Adaran never felt comfortable without it and he forgot it somewhere in this strech of hallway.. As he was walking down, he heard people talking within one of the rooms. He thought about talking to them, and decided to.
"Excuse me" he called out, outside the cloth 'door' "Have any of you seen my omni tool?"
He asked Orris and Ryia.
The marines tailing Taryn had lost their quarry. They decided to do a sweep of the area where they last saw her. To other Quarians, it would be a random patrol of marines, going about their appointed rounds.
-
Orris tilted his head while looking at the Quarian. "Omni, to-?" "Sorry Adaran, we havn't seen it, and don't have the time to look for it" Ryia quickly cut off Orris as she was now pulling him towards their ship. "S-somthing wrong Ry?" "I've only been back for an hour and I'm already missing being alone with you..." she muttered while dragging him along.
-
"Y-yes. i would like another run though the s-simulator please... a-and im trying admiral... i-im trying." He stood there as he got patted on the back... he could tell he meant well. he wasnt a person who was exactly comfortable with standing in front of a good chunk of people. "m-may i have another run down on how this all works...?"
-
"You may, follow me please" Beckoning to the young lad while walking off the stage. He waded through the crowd and pushed a button on the wall, raising the door to the simulation chamber.
"Just enter when your ready"
-
Nero followed silently to the simulator. He was still just a face in the crowd, and had yet to be discovered. C'mon...just give me the opportunity...
-
He nodded and followed him. During the walk and making sure to follow the admiral over there, he checked the thermal clip inside of his weapon... looked good. As his pistol was an older generation pistol. he wouldn't need to worry about ammo for it. Once the door rose, he looked over to him, nodded once again, and entered with the shotgun at the hip.
-
Criss crossing lines of energy danced across the Quarian who had entered the simulation chamber. It was scanning his body into the simulation. The boy felt a tingling sensation as it happened, then everything went dark in his vision.
When his vision came back, he was in what appeared to be a ruined city block or something close to it. the native wildlife scurried and scattered about as he arrived in the simulation, and a small series of 'clicks' echoed off the walls.
The Geth knew the boy was in the ruin.
-
He was never really... 'combat' oriented to say, and was more good natured... it took him long enough a reason to justify himself to 'kill' (he called it 'disabling') synthetics... so this was going to be a pain... he sighed, trying to control himself as he watched as everything happened...
He looked around once vision returned, cocking the shotgun to get it ready, as the air was much colder compared to the sterile air back on the folitila. the one thing with simulations, they messed with your head... He heard the clicks, as he hit the side of his shotgun... carnage was ready for them, as he went prone, and stared at the wall... He'd use one of his number one downfalls on the ship to his advantage... he couldn't control his breathing though, and it was easy to tell he was nervous...
"comeoncomeoncomeoncomeoncomeoncomeon..."/color]
-
A trio of Geth troopers, synthetic machines who appeared to have flashlights for faces emerged from the underbrush.
Alone a single Geth wouldn't be very smart, but due to their programming, the more that are in close proximity, the smarter they get.
These Geth began to work their way to cover, and one of them opened fire on the Quarian with it's Pulse Rifle.
-
He had the advantage of the first shot, having the time to prepare, as he fired the carnage right at them, giving him the starting advantage... and, plus, destruction was always fun! the sinks on the right side of this shotgun steamed straight on out, as he cocked out the shotgun, ejecting the entirely spent part of the thermal clip... the only problem was, it took all of the 6 shots to fire the carnage, so it was good for certain situations and when you start out. and doing it near the end of the clip would most likely make the gun explode. his head was safety under cover, so he was fine when they fired the rifle... he wasn't going to hit them from this distance, so he pulled out his pistol that DIDNT require thermal clips, and blind fired... he wasn't gonna pop out when they had assault rifles, and he never got to learn how to deploy a combat drone properly due to shotgun research...
-
The Geth firing it's gun was sent sprawling backwards as it's shields collapsed, but at that moment it's comrades had flanked the Quarian and had opened fire.
A sniper clicked a little bit as it attempted to zero in on the head, there just wasn't a clear enough shot for a kill, maybe a wound, but not a kill.
This sniper was out for killshots only.
-
Orris started piloting the ship, the A.I. only hearable through the headset he wore. Beyond that, Ry had no idea what their situation on the ship was as Orris drove to one of the 'border' star-cruisers. Its already become my fault for what happened... hes probably angry with me. Ryia thought as she sat in her room, watching the other ships through the window.
-
Orris better be careful. If the Quarians found that A.I. of his, he'd be in a world of hurt. After all, their entire species was forced off their homeworld and their colonies by a couple of V.I's, which are basically just repressed A.Is.
-
with the pistol 'cooked' he sat and waited... things where looking up for him...untill he got a few shots to his shoulder, barely leaving shields intact... geth had flanked him, and he fell right for it. lamenting his stupidity, he obviously needed to get moving... the ruins would naturally have a few buildings barely intact. after a quick look around, cramping himself so he could still hide... the geth where going to definately have some pot shots when he stormed, but better then dying for sure in the hole he was in. with the beep indicating full shields, he had his building locked in his sights, shotgun out and gunned it as fast as he could, which was pretty fast given his lighter combat weight, only taking a shot if it was absolutely necessary. given if he made it, he would need to (and would) close the door and rely on more stealthy tactics.
-
(sorry for delay, Gabag's life caught up to him, Entaru you can kidnap Admiral man anytime)
The Geth Sniper zoomed his rifle in on the Quarian's head and prepared to pull the trigger, when one of the other geth fired a rocket launcher at the Quarian's position, causing the unstable terrain under it to lurch a bit and causing the shot to go wide.
The boy would've should've seen the shot, so the sniper decided to relocate.
-
Nero saw his opportunity as the Admiral went into his private viewing room with a single guard. He slipped silently into the room and saw the Admiral watching the simulation with the guard just behind him. With a quick wave of his hand, the guard went rigid as the Stasis took effect on him. He didn't have much time before the guard would be free again so he Pulled the Admiral to him and, before he could react, bashed him over the head with the butt of his rifle. "Target captured. Returning to docking bay." Nero snuck out of the viewing room and bolted for the docking bay.
-
Taryn threw the helmet to her suit. Her anger was building. "That was such a stupid move!" She punched the wall facing the street so no one else heard it.
-
Orris couldn't seem to find a star cruiser other than the one they left, and he started turning back. "Well, unless you know a place, we have to go back..." Ry only gave a heartfelt sigh as she went over to the equipment rack, getting a few concealable weapons before letting Orris dock again. "If things get crazy, I want this ship ready to dive out of the Flotilla as soon as I get back on, understood?" she said on her comm-link to Orris. "Knowing you, I won't even have to wait a minute, but I'll keep her ready for take-off..."
-
A small freighter docked with the Rayya. To a normal member of the Flotilla it was just another passenger transport. They were right, at least partially.
It's pilot radioed a special code to the Cerberus operative who had the mark and awaited his arrival.
-
Nero nodded to no-one in paticular as he received the code and Charged through the crowd at high speeds. He arrived at the dock, unmolested, and boarded the freighter. "Primary objective completed. Let's get back to base."
-
(Apologize as well. Own life has been on a streamline sense i have finals... -.-)
As the rocket went, he rolled into a safer location... if a bit more open to the sky. he rolled out the back door, as he noticed the bolt fading away that he heard when the rocket fired, as saw a sniper... This REALLY wasn't his strong point, being a marine... he fired his pistol at the sniper as he ran for a more stable cover... now that he knew a sniper was on the loose, his already apparent fears where going to get worse. he needed some more firepower, or to get closer... he had to make sure he avoided buildings now, as a demolition crew would end his life VERY quickly... the enemy has rifles, rockets and more then likely, a few snipers... all they needed was a mech or something and that would just MAKE HIS DA-oh god dang it. he had no wood to knock on.
-
Nero nodded to no-one in paticular as he received the code and Charged through the crowd at high speeds. He arrived at the dock, unmolested, and boarded the freighter. "Primary objective completed. Let's get back to base."
"Negative operative, we need more Quarians to fulfill the mission quota and if possible extract the other operatives. The dossier of one is being uploaded now. Apparently she was the one trying to get the Admiral's attention so much" Responded a Cerberus marine who was busy tugging the knocked out Admiral onto the ship.
-
"What? Why is she so important?" Nero was infuriated at the idea of having to grab another Quarian, but he knew his place and quickly regained his composure. "Nevermind...any ideas on where she went? She disappeared after the incident."
-
"She's important because if discovered, our whole operation is ruined. Last sighting is in the residential quarter of the Rayya."
-
Ryn sat on the couch and let out a deep sigh. "I'm so done." She said aloud to herself. "I'm going home..."
-
"Ryn? This is Kilo Two Three. I got another operative here who has found one of the packages, I repeat one package is found, we're sending him back on the Rayya to find you so you can get the rest of the packages. What's your location?" A Cerberus mission controller asked Ryn over the radio.
-
Ryn hit her tracking device after she had turned it off. "That should help." She sat back down on the couch and growled in frustration.
-
Ry went back through the halls, and there was a guard that started dragging himself along the wall. She got him upright and she could see through his visor that something was more wrong than his current condition. "Someone... knocked me out, and now the Admiral is go-" She shook the guard and kept her gaze level with his eyes. "Inform only the security, but not the civilians, the last thing you want on a search is a mass panic, so straighten up and call some guards over." The Quarian nodded and slumped down, holding a finger to his helmet to contact any nearby patrols as Ryia went back to the docking bay, ready to get Orris to help if needed, but more concerned on if the Admiral had been taken through the docking bay...
-
Nero pulled up a map of the city on his omni-tool as the beacon activated. "Alright...I have her location. Be ready to take off as soon as we arrive...no doubt the entire ship is on high alert." Nero walked back out onto the docking bay and made his way to the Residential Quarter.
-
"Negative Nero, there's still some subjects we need to find, uploading characteristics to look for over and out" replied the Cerberus liason.
Objectives:

Retrieval of unique technologies; in progress.
Indeed Nero was correct, the ships were now on high alert, and more and more marines started patrolling the ship, and stopping random people and 'investigating' them with special omni tools that read DNA signatures.
-
Taryn remained in her room. The air around her swirled about. The chaos that had taken place on the marines was unknown. She remained asleep.
-
Nero cursed under his breath and quickened his pace. Great...now I have to babysit AND finish the mission. Nero saw a pair of guards coming his direction and turned off the corridor to avoid being stopped.
-
Taryn woke up and walked over to her suit. She stared at it and rolled her eyes. "I don't get why they wear this crap anyway..." She walked into the kitchen and fetched a bottle of alcohol. She took a swig and placed it on the counter.
-
Adelais'Verkan soon noticed that the simulation wasn't moving properly... uh... glitch in the system? sense he wasn't going to be shot, he pounded a few things into his omni-tool, giving him access to talk to the other 'outsiders' not in the simulation. "...Uh admiral, we have a problem... the simulations...uh..glitching. is that bad?."
(Would assume the simulation would de-rez or the like in a security threat. XP
Also posted on the last page, so it 'spains why he wasnt crushed.)

(if they leave the suits they get infected, and to a Quarian, an infection is usually lethal is left unchecked)
-
Nero, after multiple detours due to searching marines, finally found his way to the Residential Quarter. Tracking Taryn's signal, he came to a door and banged on it. "C'mon, girly. We've got work to do!"
-
"Ok. Let me get ready." She ran to the door and opened it. She was in the midst of getting her suit on. "Who are you?" She asked.
-
"Name's Nero...and who are you?" Nero eyed the woman up and down. She was quite attractive...better than mot of the women he had found working for Cerberus.
-
She smiled and eyes him. "The name's Taryn. You can just call me Ryn. You can come in. I still need to finish getting this damn suit on." She walked back inside and fetched was left. She zipped up the suit that had only been half on when she answered the door.
-
"Yeah, these things are a pain. I can't wait to get back to HQ and change back into something that doesn't squeak every time I move." Nero waited until Ryn's suit was on and motioned out the door. "Alright, lets go. We have a few more things to do before we leave."
-
She nodded and walked out the doorway. She moved her shoulders, trying to get comfortable in the suit, which was nearly impossible. "These things are ridiculous." She waited for Nero.
-
Adelais'Verkan soon noticed that the simulation wasn't moving properly... uh... glitch in the system? sense he wasn't going to be shot, he pounded a few things into his omni-tool, giving him access to talk to the other 'outsiders' not in the simulation. There was no response on the other side the young Quarian was pulled out of the simulation by a small group of marines who took the boy aside.
"There's been a bit of an issue, and we need your technological expertise possibly. The Admiral's been kidnapped by an unknown enemy. We don't know who or why yet, but we need you to be brave and help us search for him. can you do that?"
Some Marines opened up the 'door' to Ryn's suit after eavesdropping on their conversation. No Quarian would ever complain about hos ridiculous the suit is. As uncomfortable as it was in some points it kept them alive.
"You two are under arrest by the Quarian Conclave, put your hands in the air and come quietly" The lead officer stated.
(as i stated before, there are no real doorways to the 'rooms' Quarians have, just some personalized cloth to corner off a section for the 'room' Nor are there any buildings inside a space ship)
-
(u didn't complain about it before. Chill.)
Ryn growled and punched out the marine. Her elbow came under the mask and managed to knock him unconscious. She darted at the other one and tried to fight him off. She turned to Nero. "We need to go. NOW!"
-
"Not yet..." Nero blasted the group with an Area Reave and grabbed the lead officer with a Pull. Smashing him in the face with his weapon, and placing him over his shoulder, he turned to Ryn. "Now we go!" Nero Pushed the remaining marines out of the way, breaking one's back, and ran out of the door. "Follow me!"
-
Ryn bolted. She couldn't capture but she could fight and she sure knew how to get out of a situation when she needed to. "Where? Guards will be every where!"
-
"Not everywhere!" Nero ran down an "alleyway" to find a dead end. At the end of the path was a disposal unit under construction. He had seen it earlier and filed it in his mind as an escape route. He slid into the open disposal tube and fell down into the depths of the ship.
(If there's anything wrong with that please tell me)
-
(Blair i'm not complaining, stating a fact, if stating facts offends you I apologize, and Entaru the disposal unit is fine, but you'll be further away from your ship then anticipated.)
-
Ry could tell that the situation was getting worse since some marines were practically shoving other Quarians to the side to get to their location. "Orris, get out of the ship and gear up, they're having problems with security; and I had nothing to do with it..." Orris laughed into the Comm as he got out of the pilot seat and went to get his 'toys'. "If you say so Ry, if you say so..."
In only a moment he was out of the ship and standing with Ryn as they covered the only ships left in the docking bay.
-
"e-eh?!?" he was caught off guard when the marines randomly pulled him out... thankfully, it was friendly marines, as his vision took a second to adjust... he listened, and acknowledged the request. "Y-yes sir! j-just tell me what to do..."
-
Taryn followed close behind Nero. "I'm sorry," she apologized. "I shouldn't have said something so blatantly."
-
"Not your fault. I would've said something too. I'm still not used to none of them having doors" Nero dusted himself off and picked up the unconcious Marine. The ship was now a ways farther away than before. Now they had to traverse the labyrinth of the ships underbelly AND get to the ship. "This could be a blessing in disguise...there might be an engineer or another one of our targets down here." Nero looked down at his omni-tool and pulled up the ship schematics. His jaw dropped in his helmet as he looked at all the twists and turns of the ship's depths. With a sigh he plotted the quickest route to the docking bay and turned back to Ryn. "Well, no use waiting around here. We've got a mission to finish."
-
A small group of marines arrived at the docking bay, checking each ship they came across. Orris kept an eye and ear out for them in case someone decided to shoot, which might lead to quite a few dangerous conclusions. Finding the admiral would be one of them...
"Orris, I'm bored..." broke the silence, and almost shattered his calm mentality. "Standing guard... requires patience..." "doesn't change the fact that I'm bored!!" Orris 'face-palm'ed, trying to not shoot in Ryia's general direction.
-
Ryn nodded and followed him. She had been on the ship for quite sometime but she knew nothing of its insides. She stayed close to Nero, not because she needed to but because she actually wanted to. She found him attractive, or as far as she could see.
-
Nero didn't notice Ryn's interest as he walked. Perhaps he might've in a different situation, but right now he was focused on getting out of these "disposal tanks" with his cargo still in one piece.
-
Ryn remained focused. She couldn't let her mind wonder. Her eyes wondered. She quickly jumped up onto a pipe that was over head and gracefully walked along it. She had no problem. She was well balanced and nimble even in the ridiculous suits.
-
Nero did a double take as he saw Ryn hop up onto a pipe. "What the? What are you doing?" As he looked at her, his omni-tool beeped. Bringing it to his view he saw that the quickest route out of the tanks was along that paticular pipe. "Okay, there is no way she could've known that." Nero hopped up onto the pipe, but his foot slipped causing him to flail about trying to regain his balance. "Oh Sh-"
-
Ryn smiled as she grabbed him. "Don't fall. I can't carry both of you." She continued walking down the pipe. Her instincts were to follow the pipe. Nero had followed so she must have been right. She continued walking down the piping without a miscalculation or slip up. It was as if she were walking on a beam one hundred feet wide.
-
Nero felt himself blush under the helmet. Fortunately for him it was UNDER the helmet, so it went by unnoticed. He readjusted the K.O.ed Marine over his shoulder and followed Ryn along the pipes. "This may seem a bit rude, but what were you thinking when you tried to catach the Admiral?"
-
She stopped walking then slowly started up again. "To be honest with you... I wasn't. It's actually a bit hazy." She hoped she didn't sound crazy, but she was sure she did. The truth was was that she really didn't remember much. It was all a rush, something she did out of her gut feeling. She turned to Nero. "I'm not crazy... I promise."
-
Orris put up with Ryia's talking until he heard several rounds being fired off at one of the ships. "Please stay here..." he quickly said before heading towards the sound of gun-fire. One marine was wounded, while the other four were behind cover, firing on quarians who were inside a rather plain looking shipment vessel.
"Whats going on?!" he said to the nearest one as he himself dove for cover. "We asked if we could look at their crates for stow-aways, then they answered by shooting our private in the leg. We just got out of there only a few moments ago!!" Orris growled at the thought before firing a concussive round at a 'Quarian', since some were still fighting even though there were tears in the suits they wore. "Unless you guys like fighting more than your suits, I'm guessing that these arn't your kin..." he mumbled while ducking from another salvo of gun-fire.
-
"Don't worry, I believe you. It takes one to know one and I'm still trying to figure you out, so there's no way you're crazy." Nero laughed a bit at his own joke as they continued down the pipe.
-
(Stillz alivez. Just waitins.)
-
Taryn blushed. Thankfully it was hidden. She continued down the piping. It came to two pipes that split in different directions. She smiled and went down the left path. Something seemed familiar, which helped her choose her way.
-
Nero looked down the pipe curiously as Ryn walked down it. Looking to his omni-tool, he nearly fell off the pipe again except this time in surprise. She had chosen the right path again. Okay, now that's just ****** up. Nero shook his head in disbelief as he followed Ryn. This place was a maze and yet she had gone down the right path before Nero even had a chance to check...twice. He'd have to talk with his superiors about her when all of this was over.
-
Taryn continued to lead. "These pipes go on forever!" She laughed. She wanted very much to remove the silly suit. It was so heavy and she was getting hot.
-
Nero smiled under his helmet and looked back at his omni-tool. "We should be on our way out shortly. There's a disposal access that should come out right next to our ship." Nero felt his cargo stir on his shoulder. The strring was quickly stilled as Nero jabbed his finger into one of the Marine's pressure-points. "We better hurry...this guy ain't gonna be out mu-" Nero was cut off as he heard the sound of gunfire down the tunnel.
-
Ryn looked at Nero. "I think we may have some company." She looked ahead of her. "We're really close... I think we can make it..." She waited for Nero to respond.
-
Orris had apparently been the deciding factor in the fight as the fake Quarians were now down from seven to two still-living members with only an additional casualty on the marine's side. Normally humans, since they exibit no true affinity for 'otherwordly' powers, would have surrendered by now... they're probably trying to hold out until the rest of them come back... too bad they'll die before then. he took the one on the right out with an incendiary shell, leaving only one "Quarian" with a pesky shield entrenched near the ship entrance.
-
Taryn knew the shots were not because of another incident. "Nero, we need a plan..." She looked at him urgently.
-
Nero grimaced, his mind back on the job. "Don't worry, I'll deal with the Marines. You take the package and keep them from getting on the ship." Nero put the KOed Marne down and sprinted for the exit. He looked out of the disposal unit and saw the ship under attack. He growled to himself as he looked at the attackers, and prepared himself. Then, all at once, three of the Quarian marines dropped dead as he Reaved the group.
Cerberus now had the advantage of numbers and position.
((No one jeapordizes Nero's success rate))
-
A plume of fire at the entrance of the ship signaled the fall of the last defending "Quarian" shortly after the three marines fell. Orris hopped over the crate he was hiding behind, and was looking around for whoever took out the marines. Ryia was still at their ship, but she was getting edgy, wanting to go into the fight but also knowing she was the last thing that kept their ship from being hijacked.
((Only if it jeapordizes Orris' survival rate...))
-
Nero, still hidden, threw his voice so that it seemed to come from everywhere. "Leave...you are hopelessly outmatched, Taurian. Unless you want to share the same fate, I suggest you proceed quietly back to your ship." Nero's voice was dripping with venom. Ths mission was supposed to go quickly and quietly and some rookie decided to start a firefight halfway through the mission.
Nero had passed the point of ticked off and was surpressing rage at this point.
-
Orris seriously doubted there would be that many humans left since the ship the just took could only take a few more than those that had been killed. "Um, how about you just stay where you are and I search your ship for any stow-aways, unless you had a problem similar to those whom shall now forever kiss the dirt." Orris kept his rifle out, waiting for someone to make themself visible.
-
Nero snarled and threw his voice again. "The ship's cargo is classified. Searching it would be punishable by death. This is your last warning! Go back to your ship!" The last sentence had the force of a Krogan's punch as he glared at the Taurian from his hiding place.
-
"I believe you just killed the people who would have punished me; so I'll just go take a look, I promise not to touch your 'dirty pictures'..." Orris moved himself and the crate he was leaning against, towards the entrance of the ship he planned to search.
-
"Wrong answer, alien." With a sudden burst of energy, Nero all but flew into Orris as he Heavy Charged into him, knocking him away from the ship. The world around Nero seemed to slow down as his senses increased after the collision.
((Sorry but that attack doesn't miss as far as I know))
-
Orris felt pain spread like acid through his blood after the collision, and fought his body's urge to yell in pain as he turned onto his back and unloaded a concussive shot at the fake Quarian. Freaking biotics, why can't they just leave the laws of physics alone?!
-
Nero barely got out of the way of the concussive round as he strafed around Orris. Thank God for the speed boost. He skidded to a halt, so that Orris was between him and the edge of the dock. "Last chance alien! Leave or die!"
-
Orris smiled as he pointed at the human with his rifle as the incendiary round was loaded."Did you forget whos holding the gun here?" he said before firing the incendiary round and then could only hope for the concussive round to be re-made before the Human got back up as he got away from the edge of the dock.
-
((Nero's not standing close enough to you for you to do that))
-
((Nero's not standing close enough to you for you to do that))
((true, but I'm still getting a hit on you...))
-
((Fair enough))
Nero used a Master Throw as the incendiary round smashed into his shield, sending a pile of crates flying off the edge of the dock. The upper half of his envirosuit caught fire and Nero was forced to rip it off of him. Now his face and upper torso were exposed, revealing a heavily scarred face. "Hold still!" Nero attempted to Lift Orris, to keep him still.
-
Orris was actually enjoying having a human with biotics throw a fit at him."No, I don't like ugly male humans!!" he yelled in fake terror as he fired two rounds before the concussive slipped into the chamber. But, the 'lift' took effect and he felt completely weightless, forcing him to stay his trigger finger while trying to keep himself as hard to hit as possible.
-
Nero smiled as he looked up at the floating Orris. "Ugly huh? Well at least I'll look better than you when you go splat about 20 decks below. Good-bye, alien." Nero aimed and fired off another Master Throw, sending Orris carreening through the air and off the docks.
((Sorry Chrono, but Nero is one of those characters that only loses REALLY important battles. Anything minor like this is below him. I don't want to kill Orris, I just want him out of the way for now.))
-
Orris gritted his jaw as he flung his gun around to point at his back, and thanked himself for wearing body armor as he sacrificed his gun to keep himself from plummeting to his demise. "Ryn, get in the ship now... as soon as I get on, get onto the turret controls" He heard a scream of joy in his earpiece before making a run for his ship. The fight wasn't over until either the Human died, he died, or he failed to keep a bead on him. The last two could only happen if there was no way of the first one happening since he didn't plan to die with the Human.
-
Nero looked back toward the disposal unit exit and signalled to Ryn. "C'mon, looks like this mission's a bust. We need to get out of here before the entire ship shows up." He grimaced as he said it realizing that for the first time since he joined Cerberus that he would leave a mission incomplete.
-
The radios of the dead Quarians were buzzing with activity, there was no response from the Marines down in Cargo.
"Ok, send a team down to the Hanger Bay, take the engineer kid in case you need to get past any bulkheads. Those marines wouldn't respond without a good reason. Find that out" Said the marine Commander, pointing to a team of troops and the engineer (yugian)
-
Ryn stood in confusion and shock. She was frozen. She only looked on. What the **** is wrong with you! MOVE! Ryn ran to Nero. She didn't like the look on his face at all.
-
Nero ran into the ship, only to find that the pilot was one of the casualties. "Aww, well ain't this ******* great. All right, strap the marine down and then do the same to yourself. This mssion is offically FUBAR." Nero began flipping switches and preparing the freighter for "unauthorized takeoff."
-
Ryn nodded and did as she was told. Silence still clung to her vocal cords.
-
Orris got to the ship and then without stopping to breathe, ran to the pilot's chair and strapped himself in. He gave Ryia time to get to the turrets before un-docking the ship and getting ready to tear up the Human's ship. He can't dock a fast-moving ship, and the Admiral would be better off dead than abducted and tortured for information.
-
The ships comm crackled to life as the engines revved up. "Freighter 25689, you are not authorized for takeoff. Please shut down your engines and contact your nearest docking offical for authori-" Nero slammed his fist into the intercomm and ripped out it insides, causing it to spark and crackle as the voice was silenced. "I hate backseat drivers..." The freighter unlatched itself from the dock as the airlock slammed shut. The freighter groaned in protest as he made a sharp U-turn to face the exit. A loud screech could be heard as the tail of the freighter scraped against the dock.
-Hull has been damaged-
"I KNOW, I KNOW!"
-Air pressure dropping. Seal off damaged area?-
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK?!"
-Invalid reply. Seal off damaged area?-
"YES!!! JUST SHUT THE **** UP!!!"
-Valid reply. Sealing off area.-
"GRAAAAAAHHHH!!!!" Nero had lost it. It didn't happen often, but this was a special case. His mission success rate will have finally dropped from 100%. Nero punched the throttle and the freighter roared to life as it headed to the docking bay's exit.
-
Orris, unlike Nero, was unusually calm with how he handled things. He never lost a fight until now, never fought a biotic that toyed with his body, but he'll be cursed to a horrible existance if he let this human get away without some engine damage...
"As soon as we leave the ship, give them their last farewells to oblivion..." "Yes, lo-" "Don't call me that... not now... please" Ryia would have broken his concentration with the word he, ironically, desprately wanted to hear her say if she decides to give up The Flotilla to be with him, since they don't want his 'kind' around.
-
Taryn went to Nero. "Is there anything I can do?" She wanted to help but knew it was hopeless.
-
Nero had all but forgotten she was there in his rage and nearly jumped out of his skin at her voice. He quickly shook off the fright and looked at Ryn. "Actually if you could man the 'asteroid laser', that would be great. I have the feeling we're going to have some company." The so called "asteroid laser" was actually a high powered laser turret, developed by Cerberus scientists through stealing and splicng technology. It could cut through a small ship's hull like a hot knife through butter and severely damage most larger ships.
-
Ryn smiled deviantly. "With pleasure," she said almost laughing. She loved guns. In fact, it was her specialty and she knew what she was doing. She ran to them and readied them for action.
-
The Stint Nero pulled payed off... at least for the Flotilla, for basically everyone on the Rayya felt the impact of the freighter hitting the deck. Transmission between the neighboring Quarian ships had them disperse a bit, then focus fire in the direction of the renegade freighter.
Some foreigners had the guts to mess with the Migrant Fleet, and had endangered the lives of it's people and one of the Admirals.
That's not tolerable.
-
Orris managed to get their ship out of the cruiser without a single scratch, then focused on 'hunter-style' piloting before flipping a switch that would give Ryia access to all of the turret's abilities. A signal to 'wave them goodbye' as one could say...
-
As the Quarian ships began to fire Nero cursed loud enough for the Reavers to hear. "You have got to be ******* kidding me! I hope you can fire that thing because we are waist deep in-GAH!!" Nero was unable to finish his sentence as he swerved the freighter out of the way of a laser.
-
Taryn quickly began to fire, taking out a wing on one of the larger ships. She then aimed at the engine area on another. Her aim was exceptional for a female.
-
((sexist are we >:3?))
Ryia grinned behind her respirator as she got her sights on the fleeing ship, and started firing a few tracking energy shots, then changing to a consistant burst of pure laser fire. Most of her shots only glanced the ship; however, the way Orris drove to skillfully avoid the attacks would make it near-impossible for someone to keep aim on whoever was shooting. But, Ryia had plenty of experience with such a pilot, and was able to make the most of her shots.
-
Although two ships were crippled, there just were too many, a couple mass driver shots clipped the wings of the freighter. Another one shorn that wing right off, sending the freighter on a crash course with the Neema.
Good News for Cerberus: They just got Reinforcements for their other undercover operatives
Bad News for Cerberus: The Quarians know that there's Cerberus there.
-
"Oh sonova-" Nero was once again cut off as the ship was hit. He saw his view shift as the freighter turned and saw the Neema right in front of them. "AWWWW, C'MON! I WASN'T TRAINED FOR THIS ****!!!" Nero pulled up, barely missing the Neema. Flying obviously wasn't one of Nero's strong suits. His rage was so obscuring that he didn't even notice the reinforcments arriving.
-
"Record: Attention Admirals, I and my partner Ryia Eulla nar Drelm, are engaging the fleeing Cerberus ship, we are currently taking the ship down, but will get side-tracked if other operatives join in. If you can keep most of them off my six, we promise to have their ship offline before they get too far away..." "Orris, I can-" "The humans think they can get anywhere they want an-" "So it stopped being about my people and about your attitude towards humanity?" "Just keep your gun aimed and shoot that things engines down before I start ramming!!"
Thankfully the recording cut off before Ryia said anything, otherwise their already sad call for help would be shot before even had a chance of falling.
-
((not at all....))
Ryn fell from the turret and hit the ground. "Damn it!" She shouted as she got back up. "What the hell are we gonna do Nero?!" She continued to fire, hitting ships left and right.
-
As the A.I. broadcasted the recording on the Quarian channel, Orris found it was rather easy to keep up with the nutty way the pilot was driving. "I'm amazed he hasn't crashed yet..." "If anyone from my ship saw what you call driving, you would be considered the luckiest Turian alive..."
-
"I DON'T KNOW!! We're the 1st priority target on EVERYONE'S radar! Why does every ******* alien have to have their own ship?!" Nero, in his rage, slammed his fist on a button by accident. Nero was nearly thrown out of his seat as the ship's hidden mass driver fired and took out a Quarian gunship. "What the?! This thing has a mass driver?! Why doesn't anybody tell me these things!?" Now THIS was something he could do. Nero fired off another driver round at his main pursuer ((Orris)) to blow off some of his steam and tried to keep the ship from breaking around him.
Nero, now a little more controlled, finally noticed the reinforcements. "HA! YES!! Hold on tight, this could get a LOT bumpier." Nero, with major effort, turned the smoking freighter to the largest Cerberus ship and gunnned the engine.
-
Orris felt a pang of fear as the ship he was chasing, took out a gunship in a single shot. His first call was to get out of the "lane" he followed the ship on, which saved him from the next shot the ship fired. "Change of plans, take out that gun!!" "What makes you think I'm not already trying, stop with the jerky driving and let me get a %$#%#$^ clear shot!!"

(no the reinforcements were you guys Entaru and Akayla because you were scripted to crash into the Neema. and I hate to be 'that' guy but these last posts technically didn't happen in)
-
((you're ALWAYS that guy Gabs... Now what the hell are we supposed to say?))
-
((you're ALWAYS that guy Gabs... Now what the hell are we supposed to say?))
((3 ways this can go, we continue with Y and his over-kill of a gun, delete posts from and after the point where Y dodged the Neema, or just kill the rp by saying Cerberus 'pulled the plug' by wiping out the Floatilla...))
-
((well on account that i don't see the last one happening... Idk what to do))

((well on account that i don't see the last one happening... Idk what to do))
((You mean you don't see Cerberus having gunship-grade rounds discreetly stored on the ship, ready to blow once things go sour?))
-
((You've gotta be freaking kidding me! I didn't even want any of this to happen. Ryn an Nero would still be completing their mission if their ship hadn't been attacked by a certain someone *looks at Chrono*))

((You've gotta be freaking kidding me! I didn't even want any of this to happen. Ryn an Nero would still be completing their mission if their ship hadn't been attacked by a certain someone *looks at Chrono*))
((I wanted something to do, so I made up a search, and its not like it wouldn't have happened anyway since you didn't kill the marine before taking the admiral))
-
((EEE.... Either way... it happened! But now there's really no where to go... We crashed... Aren't we dead?))
-
((Who knows...we have to wait until Gabag shows up.))
-
(No, there was no pursuit, no little broadcast with a very very illegal AI, You guys survive the crash, and link up with the other Cerberus people. It's quite simple Akayla, no need to go 'Good going gabag, your always THAT guy, now what the Hell are we gonna do' well Entaru think of it this way, you've escaped... for now. And you got a good headstart to haul away to a new Cerberus ship.
This is my rp, and as the GM my word shall be LAW!, and yes i've always had a thing for the dramatic.)
A Couple Marines were ready to repel borders if the damaged freighter tried to attach, however... it just plain crashed into the ship. Even worse, it straight up just crashed into the Marines, crushing all of them. The occupants inside the damaged freighter were relatively intact excluding bruising. But now with the Flotilla on their tail it was time to run.
-
Orris turned the ship away and growled under his breath. Following the human would not get him that far if he crashed his own ship too. He would have to wait for him to escape, then engage him again. "So much for a space-chase..." "Not like I wanted to chase a target that I could have killed ten minutes ago."
-
Nero was thrown from his seat as the ship crashed into the Neema. Standing slowly back up he looked around to check the damage. The ship was totaled...useless. "Ugh...hey Ryn! You okay?" Nero cracked his back as he looked around for the Marine and Admiral. He would have to figure out a way to transport them without hauling them over his shoulder as usual.
-
Ryn sat up holding her head that the helmet had flown off of. She pulled her hand away and saw blood. "Son of a...." She trailed off as she stood and stumbled a bit but picked her helmet. "I'm okay... I think."
-
Nero, seeing the blood, walked over to Ryn with a slight limp and checked her eyes. "You have a slight concussion but you should live. C'mon, help me find something to put these clowns into." Nero indicated the two captives.
-
Ryn nodded, which caused her to get dizzy. She found a wire that had snapped and broke it out of the ship's wall. "Could we use this?" She asked looking at Nero. "You're limping..." She went over to him.
-
"Huh?" Nero looked at his leg then back at Ryn "It's probably just a sprain. The wire should work...help me tie'em up and we can get out of here." Nero walked over to the Admiral and quickly began restraining him.
-
Ryn nodded and went over with him. She wrapped them tightly with the wire. "That should hold them." She looked at Nero.
-
"Alright, I'll haul the Marine and you haul the Admiral." Nero hefted the, heavier, Marine over his shoulder and kicked out the broken emergency hatch. "We need to commandeer a ship without anyone knowing its us."
-
(Whoooo, internet fixed! what'd i miss?)
-
(I'm chasing Akayla and Entaru, who have just recently crashed into another ship; and you're still on that ship we just left)
-
((EEK haven't been on in forever! teehee))
Ryn nodded and followed Nero with the admiral over her shoulder.
-
Orris went in closer with his ship, trying to ease into the hole with his own ship, then sent a rather loud beep into his comm to wake up Ryia. "%$#@, you never acted like this during the entire time you spent trying to get the money for this ship!" "True, but I could say the same for you... now I'm sorry for being ignorant to your issues, but can you please kill those two runners with the turr- nevermind, can't even get a good view of them..." he mumbled as he started to pull out of the hole, now having to wait over by the docking-bay doors for them to leave.
-
(Ah... Thanks much mate!
-
Taryn continued following Nero. Her heart was racing, and her breathes were shortening. She felt a pain in her side but ignored it. Must keep pushing.
-
Nero's mind was racing...he had to think of a plan quick. There was no way they could make it if the entire Flotilla was floating right outside the docking bay. If they commandeered a ship, they would be asked for identification and then promptly blown out of the sky. So far the only place they weren't looked for was...
"The sewers! Screw the ship! We're gonna have to wait this out! C'mon!" Nero quickly changed course and began using his omni-tool to scan for an open disposal unit.
-
Ryn ran after him. Her vision began to blur. She shook her head. Her eyes in focus for a moment. She continued to follow him. "There's a sewer entrance in the next few feet."
-
Orris noticed that the Flotilla was already setting up to obliterate the docking bay, so he turned the ship towards the waste disposal, figuring that humans with their biotics could take their chances on a chunk of waste rather than trial by gun-fire. "You do realize that your entire decision is based on your racist mentality towards human biotics, right?" "I am fully aware that humans and quarians have their survival quirks, humans just like to use unconventional means..."
-
Nero turned as Ryn spoke and nearly bashed his head on the top of the entrance as he barely ducked in time. He heard the Marine's head thud against the entryway, knocking him even farther into a stupor. Cargo damaged...great. I am so getting demoted for all of this. As he experienced the very familar sensation of deja vu, falling down the pipe to the sewers, he tried to think of a way to contact Cerberus.
-
"Up here take a left, the end of this sewer passage is a dead one," She said, unaware that she knew once again where she was going. Her vision fuzzed again as she continued to follow Nero.
-
Nero did as he was told on instinct. Finally, he realized, they could stop running. His run slowed into a jog, then walking, then a complete stop. He dropped the Marine on the ground and nearly collapsed in the sewage. Looking over to Ryn, he realized something was very wrong and hobbled over to help her.
"Hey, are you alright?" Nero looked into her eyes again and realized the concussion was worsening. Taking the Admiral and setting him next to the Marine, Nero helped Ryn to a dry area so they could sit. "You're in bad shape...you need to sit down."
-
Ryn nodded. When she leaned against the wall, a pain shot through her. "I think its more than just a concussion." She put her hand on the side of her stomach. She pulled it back, red.
-
Nero placed his hand over his mouth and shook his head slowly, looking at the wound. "Oh, lovely...let me see. I should be able to patch it up a bit." Nero had no medi-gel, but he did have a needle and thread for just such an occasion. Pulling them from their hiding place he looked at Ryn. "You're going to need to take off the envirosuit and your shirt. I won't be able to stitch it correctly with them on."
-
Ryn nodded, "Alright." She moved slowly to remove all she had to. She covered her chest to keep herself still semi-decent.
-
Nero kept his eyes averted from where they wished to wander and focused his attention on the gash in her side. It was bleeding badly and definently needed immediate attention. Pulling out a small piece of leather, he wrapped it up until it was a hard cylinder and gave it to Ryn. "Put this in your mouth. It'll help."
Nero began threading the needle and waited for Ryn's okay to begin working.
-
Ryn placed it in her mouth. She nodded and layed her head back to keep from looking to ease more pain that was soon to come. she shut her eyes and steadied her breathing as best she could. She took her shirt and placed it over her chest so she could use her hands if needed.
-
Nero pierced the needle through Ryn's flesh and began stitching her side up. It would definently leave a scar, but scars were the least of their worries at the moment. He was glad he had gotten away with a sprain. A few painful moments passed as Nero put in the final stitches. "There...that should do for now."
-
Ryn, from the loss of much blood and the pain, was almost unconscious. "Alright. Please tell me we have time to rest... If not, just a bit further the tunnel splits into multiple directions. Our best bet is the one furthest to the right." She said, her breaths short.
-
Nero shook his head. "No, we're fine for now. Try to get some rest, I'll keep watch."
-
Taryn's eyes slowly closed.
Her blue eyes shot open. "How long was I out?" She said looking around and sitting up. Her shirt that lay on top of her fell. Ryn quickly recollected it and put everything back on. Luckily her blushing was noticeable. She looked at Nero.
-
Well. that resolved well. the soldiers stalled for the longest amount of time, and he was non the wiser. Everything seemed to blow riiiight on over their heads... which in short, means that things should go back to normal right? beyond the fact that spies where in their mist and the fact he was scared beyond all comprehensible belief? He wanted to go on his pilgrimage please!
-
Nero looked over at Ryn and chuckled a bit. "About three hours. Feeling better?" Nero had been gulping down a bottle filled with an unknown alcohol and his cheeks now had a shade of red to them. He had obviously been drinking for a while now.
-
"A little. Still have a burning sensation. But that'll go away. Are you alright?" She looked at him oddly. She could smell the alcohol on him.
-
Orris went up to the turret, giving Riya a little jump as he shouted "Boo!". She luckily didn't fire the gun as she was shocked, but giggled and scooted over to let Orris sit next to her. He smiled as he got up and sat next to her, draping an arm over her shoulders. "I shouldn't have treated you like I did... Its just re-" Ryia took her helmet off and took off Orris' helmet before kissing him enough to get his attention before she went to get her helmet back on.
"There, we finally kissed, when can we get to the rest?" she said with cild-like impatience. Orris started laughing before gently pushing her away. "You waited this long just to get a kiss, we'll get further once this whole mess is over and we depart from the Flotilla..." "Aw... but those humans are taking too long" Orris laughed even harder, trying to avoid banging his hand against the screen of the turret. "Okay, I play the sub if you want..." he would have sworn that Ry did her Quarian version of a human blush before pushing him into the side of the turret pod. "You're such a pervert!!" "Coming from the girl who wants me in her envrio-suit during a space-battle!!" he said while having a re-curring fit of laughter, being really happy that he didn't just pass by her on that mission a year ago...
-
Nero nodded. "Yeah...just a little bit of my own home remedy to chase away the pain in my leg." He obviously wasn't sober but he still maintained his composure rather well. What he didn't let on, however, was the fact that the only reason he was sitting down was because he had fallen down and was too drunk to get back up.
Thank god she was out for that...
-
Ryn sat up and leaned against the wall. Her stitching began to bleed lightly. "Damn it..." She said under her breath.
-
Nero sighed, the depressant part of the alcohol kicking in. "Just because you went to sleep doesn't mean the injury is gone. I think we're gonna be sitting down here a while." How was he going to explain all of this to Cerberus HQ...
((The marine and admiral can wake up any time now, Gabag))
-
Taryn crawled over to him and sat closer. "I feel like a sitting duck." She leaned her head against the wall and sighed deeply.
-
"Well as long as we don't move too much they cant pick us up on radar." Nero took another swig of his drink and held it to Ryn. "Want some...there's still plenty and it'll make it hurt less."
-
Ryn took the drink and took a large swig. She shook her head as it left a burn in her throat. "That's some good stuff."
-
Nero smiled a bit. "My own recipe...the bottle compresses it so you're techinically holding about 6 gallons of it. I test the booze out on Krogans...I know its a good batch when they're wobbling after a few sips. Though the REALLY good batches...when they pass out from one sip...I use as knockout drugs for missions like this. Smaller ones at least.
-
Taryn smiled and took another swig. She rested her head on Nero's shoulder.
-
Nero chuckled and took a swig of his own, not bothering to pull the bottle from Ryn's hand. "So what made you join Cerberus...if you don't mind me asking?"
-
"I don't have any recollection of my life before. Only does my mind come back to me in intense situations. I think it's the reason why I know my way around the underneath of this ship." She took another swig. "I joined because I had nothing to worry about. I had no past to haunt me or a future I knew about. I had no worries, no fears." She stared off in space as she spoke.
-
"How traumatizingly enigmatic..." Nero took another swig and coughed a bit. "I wish my reason was that complicated...would make more sense."
-
"It's actually a bit troubling... What's your story?" She asked.
-
"Truthfully...I just enjoy hurting people. I don't know why...I just do." Nero laughed and put his hands over his face. "I'm just a monster."
-
Ryn smirked. "We all are in one way or another." She rubbed his arm gently.
-
"I never said it was a bad thing...like I said I enjoy it. Just doesn't make too much sense, thats all." Nero put his hand on Ryn's thigh, unaware that he even had a hand at that moment.
-
Ryn smiled. "I enjoy it too. So I suppose I'm just as sick as you are."
-
Nero cackled but stifled it. "Well then...to sickness!" Nero gulped down another drink and handed it to Ryn.
-
Ryn took a large swig and gulped it down.
-
"You really can hold your liquor, can't you?" Nero grinned as he watched the alcohol travel down her throat.
-
"always have been able to." she said looking at him with a smile.
-
Nero leaned over to take the bottle back. "A good quality to have...especially if you're hunting Kro-AGH!" Suddenly, the hand holding him up slipped and dropped him face first into Ryn's lap.
-
Ryn jumped lightly and laughed. "You're so clumsy!" She managed to say through laughs. "Are you alright?" She turned his face to face hers.
-
Nero attempted to get back up but his arms collapsed under his own weight. "Not clumsy, just drunk...and yeah I'm fine. Though moving on my own is no longer an option." Nero began to laugh himself.
-
Ryn simply smiled and rested her head back against the wall once more. Her fingers touched Nero's arms playfully. Taryn sighed and looked around. "We should move soon. Can't sit here for too long," She said calmly.
-
Nero nodded and rolled off of her. "We'll head out when we can actually walk without making noise."
-
Ryn nodded. The pain had subsided but the exhaustion that was brought with the loss of blood and pain was taking hold of her once more. "I'm gonna rest for a little then."
-
"Alright...I'll just lay here then. I'll shout if anything happens." Nero flipped himself onto his back and slid himself up a wall into a sitting position.
-
Taryn nodded and drifted off to sleep once more. Her right arm held tightly around her body to protect the stitches.
-
Nero scooted closer to Ryn and looked to their captives. They were still out. Nero was starting to wonder if they were dead. Maybe they got conked out a little too hard. Nero felt his eyelids starting to close by themselves. Stay awake Nero...I'd rather not die in a sewer and I'm sure she feels the same. Then again, a few minutes won't hurt... Nero's eyes drifted shut...
((Sorry Akayla, but he's been awake the longest without any rest in between. At least Ryn had a nap before the chase. Gabag, I think you should capture us so that we can get Yugian, Chrono, and you back in. I really need to stop hijacking your RPs))
-
((Well, I'll get back in once you get off your butt and try to escape by space-garbage :P))
-
A team of marines were scouring the garbage desposal parts of the ship and discovered the pair of humans with their captives. Hauling them up from the trash and binding the humans, while attempting to revive their kidnapped brethern, they escorted the pair to the ships captain, radioing in their success.
(you asked for capture Entaru happy birthday you got captured)
-
Ryn growled and tried to struggle. Frustration fumed from her body.
-
Nero tried to free himself from the marine's grip, but it was no use. He was still too tired to resist much, and he needed to be fully alert to use his biotics properly without hurting himself.
-
Ryn continued to move about. She was only tiring herself more and more. The stitches on her side opened from her vigorous trashing.
-
Orris smiled when looking at Ryia, somewhat trying to hide his frustration that someone else got to the human before him. "Well, got any ideas since a fire-fight won't be happening?" "Why not just go meet up with the marines and take the humans, not like they'll chase after you if you leave the admiral alone..." Orris thought about it for a moment, and shrugged with more exaggeration than usual. "If thats your idea, lets go!" He slid down the turret ladder and walked over to the console again. He then turned off the A.I. to keep any 'other' Quarian's from shooting at him for simply being paranoid, no matter how well-found their paranoia is...
