Title: Furry Books
Post by: vancouversarah on March 31, 2010, 01:31:59 AM: Does anyone know any books or series that might be of interest to furries? That is, books where the most or all of the characters are animals/anthropomorphized animals?

I've read quite a bit of the Redwall saga. I know of the Warriors series but haven't read any of it yet. Hmm, what else, what else?

Post by: Goblin Cat 😸 on March 31, 2010, 03:50:48 PM: If you like Redwall, you'll like Mouseguard. There's also Amelia Atwater-Rhodes books: Hawksong, Snakecharm, Falcondance, Wolfcry, Wyvernhail. In that order. It's a wonderful series that I quite enjoyed. Another amazing book that has to do with an animal is Dean Koontz's The Watchers. A good read for canine lovers.

Post by: White Wolf Guardian on March 31, 2010, 06:05:59 PM: I think you could almost look anywhere and find anthropomorphic characters, whether or not it is taken to be "Furry" is entirely up to the reader(s) :P. I love garfield comic strips, VG Cats, lackadaisy cats, and some others I can't think of at the moment.

Otherwise, i would say pretty much any good book where the main caracther is a animal, or sometimes when the story is based on something animalish is a good book for a furry <.<

And to the part where i actually write some books:
Roald Dahl - Fantastic Mr. Fox*
Daniel P. Mannix - The fox and the hound*
Christopher Paolini - Eragon**

* = I haven't read the books but I've seen the movies based on them and liked them.
** = Not really a furry book, but i would recommend it and the rest of the cycle to anyone that loves dragons.

Namely the Black Stallion series (read them all), Black Beauty and a book called Captains of the Urban Streets which was about cats but I've not seen it anywhere since I was a kid and reading it.
