Title: Versus; the Light, the Under, and the Unknown
Post by: Artemis on March 01, 2010, 10:28:38 PM:    There are three different "verses" in this world. Two of which should be obvious, the "Light" Verse and the "Under" Verse. They've been at war for some time, always fighting in a verse between their own. They can't actually go to the opposite verse, their energies don't allow it, so they fight in a verse most commonly called by the other two as the "Unknown" Verse. Both the Light and Under verse have seen a few glimpses of the Inhabitants here, and decided to call the Verse, Unknown because they don't know what the local inhabitants call it. In fear of angering these possibly lethal, and / or numerable inhabitants, the two opposing Verses choose to fight in desert like environments, out in the open where there is nothing of value.

Unfortunately, neither verse has gained an upper hand in the war, and because of this neither one of the curious Lightlings or Underlings can send out a research team to reasearch the area, and possibly any inhabitants of this world. Of course, unless either side thinks they are winning, or are actually winning, no advancement in knowledge will be made.

Lightlings-

   Their goal is to snuff out all of the Under Verse. And the sooner they get it done, the better. Nobody is quite sure why the high ranking officials hate the Under Verse so much. Perhaps it is because they are different. Either way, the soldiers and various Light users find their own reasons to hate the Under Verse. Such examples would be, they killed a comrade, or a false sense of evil is created. Either way, the only thing the higher-ups are telling the fighters, is to kill.

Under Verse-

   The Light Verse started this whole war when Under Verse researchers were trying to find a way to access the Light Verse. They were suddenly attacked, and the entire team, slaughtered. Of course the Under Verse responded as if in War Time, and now they fight for the survival of their kind. They protect those who cannot fight back home, and will do anything to ensure their safety, even if it means death.

*Light Verse -
Their fighters are usually all-around combatants, and their spell casters cast positive and negative buffs on allies and enemies. There is no "name" for the Light Verse, except for "Light Verse". Except for the occasional bandits, they're pretty much united, and therefore instead of running into battle yelling, "FOR AIUR!!" (excuse my starcraftyness), or "For (insert order name here)" they pretty much yell "FOR LIGHT!". Going back to the class specifications, their warriors are either medium armor, or heavy armor. No light armor whatsoever, of course this makes them considerably slower than the average Under Verse warrior. Their spell casters are all Medium armor, almost no exceptions unless they are healers that need to be able to run around everywhere (i would hate my job) Their numbers are also in the medium range. They specialize in mostly defensive ventures, so don't be surprised if there's a fortress every 50 miles. It's just how they advance.

*Under Verse –
Their warriors are mostly light-armored lethal attackers. They have a special connection with an energy they call Kiodun, which allows them to perform feats the Light Verse couldn't imagine until encountering the Under Verse. They are relatively high in number, although the vast amount of their people are not united, so do not be surprised if they are screaming for victory for a separate faction, or if you witness them fighting themselves. If they all were to unite, they would probably crush the Light Verse's standing in the unknown verse in a matter of days, all in account for their extremely vast numbers, it would simply be overwhelming. Back to their energy called Kiodun. The fighters are spell-wilding swordsman (majority). They have focused half their energies on learning to fight with a blade, or another weapon(s) and the other half focusing on manipulating their own Kiodun. Under Verse spell casters, also known as Zealots focus all their time on mastering their Kiodun, and often become so powerful, they use to much energy and explode. Therefore, they are working on creating a balance between their life-force, and the Kiodun, to keep themselves intact while unleashing the majority of their locked powers. This of course, is relatively new, and exploding spell casters still often occur.

Just imagine that both arms are like the one holding the scythe, and instead of a scythe he will be wearing a gauntlet with two black blades protruding a few feet outwards.

Class: Stealth Fighter

Special Abilities: None... yet.

Background: More of an unravel as the story continue kind of background. For now all you need to know is that he is the younger brother of his clan’s leader.

Misc. Info: He has a scar that goes diagonal from his right shoulder to his lower left rib cage.

Background Information: The Founder of the Dragoons. Tyran was once belonging to the Blazing Centuran faction, until he grew tired of their ideals. Their lack of action against the Light Verse led to him splitting and forming his own faction of dissidents, the Dragoons. The Dragoons are at the forefront of anti Light Verse activities, and usually clash with the more conservative factions. The Dragoons are not above stooping to bloody murder if it means killing the Light Verse scum.
Every Dragoon must wear at minimum a single spherical eye of sapphire, Tyran, being the head, adorned his armor with the sapphire gems, showing off his allegiance to the world. Higher ranking members usually have more then one sapphire eye. Only Tyran has ranked high enough to have 27 of the gems, the other most high ranking member has 15.

Class: Light-armor Spell-Caster knight. A support character for others when they need backup and they will find him very close behind doing his best to help.

Gift of Light: This wolf's words are mightier than his sword, his magic is imbued into his bali-sword. In combat situations, the bali-sword will flip open whether it be by physical centrifugal force of the paw or opening by spell, all power goes to his sword by spells and it can perform a variety of different tasks impossible without such power.

Background: The arctic wolf was raised on a farm out in the middle of nowhere with little interest for any of the environment around him except for his knives and swords, he wanted to see something new. White didn't really know what he wanted to do for the future and his time was rotting away at home and he wanted to do something with his life and perhaps find a use for his skills with his weapons. He flipped a shilling on whether or not to join the Light Verse or Under Verse, obviously at age 27 and the coin flipped upon his paw, the choice of Light Verse was quite clear. Next thing done, the wolf signs himself up not really too concerned with his decision, bali-sword in hand and ready for battle.

Misc. Info: White carries a 3' 1" *3 Feet 1 inch* Bali-sword and what that is, is basically a butterfly knife or as the Eastern part of the world calls it, Balisong that is long and large enough to be considered a sword, hence the name bali-sword.

The actual bali-sword that White has utilizes pure navy blue handles with skeletonized appearance. Among other carry on items, the wolf has assembled a variety of other close up weapons from his years of free time. Background: Lok is... a little insane. Very good to have as a friend, a chatty person when not in battle, and very understanding, he does work for the Under Verse partly because he was born there, but also because he thinks the Light are a bunch of (censored). He enjoys the shadows, but can work in a team. Unstable if you get him cornered, otherwise he is calm and collective. Not much is known about his past... but who cares when you can have a killer bought for a living space and food? Plus, him being an Alchemist, he creates his own poisons. He also enjoys a good drink now and again.

Class: Warrior focusing on the art of the sword, her magical powers are quite poor
Special Abilities: she has been blessed/cursed with the red eyes of madness this being the ability to create illusions(playing mind tricks on her foes) after them catching a glimpse of her crimson red eyes
Background: Grimsy has always been despised just because of her potent ability but she does not bare a grudge. She is more of a peaceful person but her intentions have always been good, now what a better way to prove herself than helping her fellow underlings to survive this new threat?
Misc. Info: As a new recruit her skill in the arts of the sword is still rather poor, but with her ability backing her up she can hold her own against enemies who underestimate her

Special Abilities: Eye of influence (effects vary, but certain genders bring about different effects from others), but thats all he can do.... for now
Background: Ever since his powers started devealoping, people acted differently soon after looking at Orphen, male agressors became placated, while the other gender seemed to turn from dominant to submissive, and vice-versa. They taught him to be stealthy so people would notice him less, and be less effected by his power.

Misc. Info: He doesn't need a weapon, for his eye can also make his enemies his puppets, turning them against eachother, or just providing a distraction while Orphen snaps their neck. He treats the opposite gender as 'weak in the knees', and has a 'harem' of women he knew before the powers influenced them, promising to give them their deserved attention and care once his job is done, or when the war is over.

He will be gaining another power, but it will come in bits and pieces...

Rank: Leader of the Peaceable Scribes, a group of female scribes (reading "magic" users) who attempt to use their energies for good.

Class: Spell-Caster: Effie has made a solemn vow along with the rest of the Peaceable Scribes, to never use magic to hurt another except as an absolute last resort. Therefore, her spells are calm, non-invasive ones that can do harm, just not physical harm.

Special Abilities: She has the power to generate wings when needed, but there is a drawback: they only last for ten minute before they slowly fade, and once they're gone, she falls.

Background: Effie was the unwanted child of a mountain-dwelling Monk, who should not have been having children in the first place. Shamed, her mother gave her over to the nuns, and, among the forests and crystalline lakes, she was raised to be a cleric. Eventually, Effie chose to leave and pursue her own mission, banding together a Squad of similar female clerics that she named The Peaceable Scribes. Together, they plan on putting an end to the violence that seems to have plagued their Verse.

The idea is to let the battle get from bad to worse in terms of containment.... so by giving the light side a chance to turn the tables, we're hoping to provoke both sides to bringing their fights closer to the Unknown.... we're pissing off both sides, just happen to choose Under as the first target :3

Class: artificer/artifact maker/artifact merchant
Background: long story short evil clan attacks her clan leaving very few survivors. She and the survivors are accusses unjustly that they killed everyone. Dawn is the daughter of the clans leader and she is wanted most due to the artifact she posesses inside her body.

Special abilites: heightened senses and metal manipulation.

Also, your history is way off base. If you had more closely read the description of the Light Verse, everybody is united. There are no "clans" or seperate rebellious groups.
