Title: Pariah Online [Semi-Fun RP]
Post by: Blaiiine on May 11, 2017, 06:31:19 AM
Earth, 2021, December 5th

Pariah Online, the most hyped and talked about game in decades has hit the shelves with ten thousand first week copies from Xedes. The game is a VR-MMORPG, set in a vast world filled with anthropomorphic races and factions in a land based upon Norse mythology. The main objective of the game is reach the final floor, that being the hundredth. But with endless quests, intelligent AI and bustling cities there is no rush for that final floor.

The company released the game for their new ground-breaking VR device, the Enzo. It Implements a device that captures nerve firings and reroutes them to the game, giving you the ultimate deep dive into virtual reality.

Some critics argued that the device could cause trauma to the human brain, killing it's user instantly. An almost "death in game, death in life" scenario that was swept under the rug by Xedes' army of lawyers. The game and system were released with no question or public notification.

You happen to be one the many lucky people who somehow received or purchased the Enzo and Pariah Online. The official launch on the first floor starts in an hour. Prepare for Pariah, because it may just be your last chance.

Rules:
- No god-modding
- Rules-acceptable romance
- Don't overpower your magic
- Be reasonable with amount of characters (if you can handle it, go for it)
- Yes, you will start as human. Once you start the game, you can pick your anthro race)

Name: Blaine Everson
Age: 22
Location: Texas, USA
Height/Weight: 5' 11", 165 lbs
Appearance: Average build, pale white, blue eyes, brown hair.
Personality: Sarcastic, overly humorous, reckless, kind.
Bio: Blaine is a line cook, finishing classes at college. Has been playing video games since he was a toddler, and  R was his dream. Beta-tested Pariah for a few weeks, has a few skills moved over but nothing major. Purchased game and the Enzo with savings.

North Texas, December 5th 2021. 2:32 P.M. CST

Blaine climbed out of his car, an old SUV with a cracked front window. He had just clocked off work and was ready to get inside his house with his new game. Opening the door, he tossed his uniform onto the couch and changed into an old sweater. Snow was falling outside, not entirely unusual for the time of the year. Blaine grabbed a drink and walked to his room, turning the light on. The walls were covered in horror movie posters and magazines laid everywhere.

The Enzo sat on the end table by Blaine's bed, it's body a cool black matte color. It fit perfectly on the user's head, completely covering it like a motorcycle helmet. Blaine laid back in his bed, sending a few messages to his friends before slipping the headgear on. The screen flashed on, showing a full battery and the time. "Alright, let's do this. Enzo start!" He yelled, the game kicking on and causing his body to go limp.

His sight slowly returned, showing a sign up screen.

Name: Blaine
Race: Ursine
Class: Ranger

His beta character floated next to the information. A button flashed, reading Correct. Blaine reached out and clicked it, before being sucked back into the system loading. Finally, a fanfare blared and a welcome screen appeared.

** Hrimskar Town Square, Skyridge **

Blaine awoken to himself standing, the sounds of people talking around him. But he wasn't himself, he wasn't human. His skin had turned to fur, his palms to pads, his nails to claws. Looking around, he was surrounded by people of different species. Lupine, ursine, canine, too many to list.

Calming down, he looked himself over. He was wearing black leather armor, covered by a dark green hooded robe. No weapons but he had his quiver. "Well, that answers if you get your weapons from the beta," Blaine whispered to himself before checking his time. Thirty minutes until the grand celebration, enough time to find a weapon in the market. He took off, blending into the crowd of new players and NPC's.

Name: Alistar Jordan (goes by Ali)
Age: 21
gender: male
Location: Ohio, USA
Height/Weight: 6' 2", 140 lbs
Appearance: Alistar has always been on the tall side while remaining rather skinny. He doesn't have much in the way of muscle. Very pale.
Personality: Excitable, nervous, quirky, talkative. Alistars always been a bit feminine.
Bio: Alistar is a full time online college student. He's found he gets along with people much more through the computer so has ended up spending a huge amount of time just in online games. He has an apartment where he lives on his own and pays for through his savings and the small amount of online work he does.
*also- the species I’d like to use for Alistar isn't a real species if that is ok. I call them Spring Tails. Think a long eared rabbit with a long fluffy tail.
reference image-http://shadowkatz11.deviantart.com/art/Alistar-676720313
*also also- what kinds of areas/ towns will we run into through the course of the game?

December 5th 2021. 3:10 P.M.

Alistar rolls over in bed only half awake to grab his phone and check the time. He squints his eyes against the bright screen reading the time. He groans irritated that he managed to sleep through the majority of his day again. Pulling his computer from the nearby night stand Alistar checks his assignments. He has a few due very soon- for a few moments Alistar internally debated wither he cares enough to work on these assignments right now. Procrastination wins and he closes his laptop to ignore those assignments till another day.
Finally, Alistar rolls out of bed and walks to his window to look outside. All that's there to greet him is a sea of blinding white snow. The joys of winter in Ohio. He closes his blinds once more and looks to his wall of game systems. He hasn’t gotten much of a chance to play his new Enzo so without further thought Alistar grabs it off the shelf and makes himself comfy in his overly stuffed office chair. Once properly relaxed in his chair Alistar calls out "Enzo start" and with a final yawn his body goes limp and the game starts up.

Everything is dark for a moment before a screen of information lights up in front of Alistars face.
Name: Alistar
Race: Spring Tail
Class: Rouge
He quickly read through the information "looks right" he says as he clicks the confirm button that pushes him finally into the game.

** Hrimskar Town Square, Skyridge **
It takes Alistar a few moments to get accustomed to all the noises and new sights of the starting town. He stood still and simply watched the other characters walk around for a while as he adjusted to the game. Finally he looked down at himself laughing happily "this game is so realistic" he praises as he looks at his furry white hands. He takes a few steps to test the movement and cant help but smile, not only does it feel extremely real but he feels like he's walking on springs. He bounces in place high into the air. 'I'm going to LOVE this character' he thinks. 'I wonder how much money we start with.' he thinks as he checks his clothing for coins of some type. Hes wearing a long tunic and brown leather pants. Over his shoulders hangs a long midnight blue cloak. In a pocket along the inside of the cloak he finds a small bag with a few coins but nothing else he had with him in the beta. with a shrug Alistar heads off to the market place to stock up on whatever he can afford.

(( Since Pariah Online is based culturally around Norse mythology, imagine a giant scale version of Skyrim. Snowy mountains, grassy fields, tall forests and tundra biomes. I'm still working in specific towns but the first floor is home to the capitol of Skyridge, Hrimskar, where I'll eventually start the grand celebration. And yeah, custom species are okay. Just not like wolfbats and cathorses. ))

** Market District, Hrimskar, Skyridge **

Blaine haggled with an older cervine merchant over a long bow. It was a long, slender bow made with a darkened mahogany. Eventually, the merchant gave it up for a few dozen gold coins. Blaine shouldered the weapon and pulled his hood up. He had changed his appearance after trading, now wearing darkened brown leather light-armor and a black cloak held together with a green clasp in the shape of a leaf. It reminded him of something he'd seen in fantasy movies his older brother watched.

Moving through the crowd, he ignored players yelling for party members and guild requests. Even in such a realistic game, people still acted like it was just another online MMO. Blaine caught a sign for a tavern ahead of him and bee-lined it for the building. Fifteen minutes is plenty of time for a drink, he thought to himself as he walked inside of the two-story structure.

A warm, crackling fire burned near the door, the warmth rising up Blaine's body. The feeling was so real, it felt like Blaine was actually in the tavern. Quickly abandoning his feelings of excitement, he took a seat at an empty corner table. Adjusting his hood, a ursine barmaid asked him for his order. "Mead," Blaine replied, tossing a few coins on the table.

** Market District, Hrimskar, Skyridge **Alistar walks into the market still amazed at how realistic everything looks, while also ignoring all the players around who are shouting out for their party members.
He walks up to one of the open stalls and crouches down to get a closer look at the building. Its amazing how much detail they have packed into the textures of the game.
"Somthin' wrong with your head boy?" A NPC wolf merchant asks in a gruff growl. He looks confused at Alistar just crouched down staring at bricks.
Alistar clears his throat a tad embarrassed and walks away quickly. he walks through the rest of the market.
He finds himself a nice new side pack and two cheap- yet useful- daggers. He thinks he has everything he'll need so takes his chance to simply walk around town and see if anything catches his eyes.

** The Twin Shields, Hrimskar, Skyridge **

Blaine sat quietly at the table, counting down the time to the celebration. Sipping his mead, he gazed at the bow he had purchased. The touch of the mahogany body felt all too real, almost eerily. Anyone who could create the level of realism and sense could ultimately create an entire world. At least, that's what Blaine thought. Outside Pariah, he was just a gamer. He could hardly build a PC if his cousin didn't help him. Snapping back to the game, Blaine noticed the time. Five minutes from the celebration. Quickly finishing his drink, he put his hood up and hurried out of the bar. An NPC tried stopping him for a quest but Blaine quickly ducked him, eliciting the villager to what he assumed was cursing him out.

Moving through the now thinned crowd, Blaine made his way to the Town Square area to find a seat and hear the creator's introduction to the game. Passing a male rabbit, he bumped into him. "Sorry," He said, gruffly. Blaine hadn't time to stop and chat, after the celebration he was planning on boosting his hunting skill.

** Market District, Hrimskar, Skyridge **

As Alistar walked around getting a feeling for the game he felt someone knock into him. He looked over and was the bear who knocked into him seemed to be hurrying somewhere. If fact many people seemed to be heading somewhere. "Oh crap!" Alistar remembered there was supposed to be a big celebration for the introduction of the game!
'let's see how fast I can get there' Alistar thinks as he starts to dart through the crowd on his new springy rabbit legs. His character is made for speed and agility, and while he may not have perfect control yet over his in-game body, He made his way through the crowd with ease and towards town square.
Once into the town square Alistar saw that many of the best seats were taken with only a few still open, rather than try and fight his way into one of those seats Alistar takes a leaping jump and climbs onto the roof of a local shop. from here he had a perfect vantage point of everything going on.
while letting one leg swing freely from the roof top Alistar made himself comfortable and waited for the celebration to begin.

Blaine quietly sat and watched the ever growing crowd, examining each newcomer. Finally, once the time had come, a loud fanfare could be heard before a large screen appeared before the crowd. A deep voice spoke, "Hello, adventurers! Welcome to Skyridge," Blaine quietly watched the screen, showing a blurred avatar.

Alistar squinted against the harsh sun as he watched the large Avtar welcome all the new players. The crowd cheers happily, everyone is very excited to be a part of Pariah! even Alistar gives a small cheer from his high-up perch.

(I'm very sorry for the late reply- didn't have internet!)

"Now, to business...this game is not any usual game. It is our creation, our world. A living, breathing organism that we crafted. And as such, we felt that a...new feature was to be added after the launch. If you'll check your menu..." The avatar finished, gestured for the players to follow his command.

A few players loudly gasped, others yelled for explanation. Blaine quickly swiped the air, which produced a small menu. There was nothing out of the ordinary until he reached the options. The log out button was missing, vanished. Blaine held back his worry and pulled his hood down, revealing his avatar's long braided viking hair. He stared down the avatar, who softly chuckled at the chaos unfolding

"Yes, you will be unable to log out. Forever, or at least for the meanwhile. The key to your freedom? Reach the final floor of Skyridge and face the final obstacles. But be warned, adventurers, this is no mere game. Death is permanent, in here and in real life. You die in here, the headset you're sleeping in fries your brain and ends your life." The avatar continued, ignoring the ever-growing panic in the crowd. Some screamed, some cursed and some even went catatonic at the realization of their impending doom. Even Blaine's heart began racing, causing him to clench his fists.

Alistar stared at the menu for a very long time just frozen. His heart was racing with fear. His excitement for this adventure was dwindling. As he pulls himself away from the menu screen he is quite glad for his position high above the now screaming and raging crowd. he sees some people are panicking and pushing their way through the crowd in their anger and fear.
Alistar pulls his long legs up against his chest as he watches the avatar on screen smiling down on all the horrified players.

"Welcome to our world, fight to get back to yours." The avatar said before the screen disappeared, leaving the players to their own devices. Blaine quickly stood up and pushed his way through the panicking crowd, making his way for the now accessible exits.

Taking an alleyway, he stopped and leaned against a wooden wall. "Oh hell, this is really bad," Blaine muttered to himself as he pulled up the menu, equipping his bow and checking his inventory. Stocking up earlier would prove wise as players would drain markets for supplies now that the stakes were so high.

Alistar stares in disbelief as the avatar on screen fades away leaving nothing but the sounds of the panicked masses. He stays stone still for quite a while letting this new information sink in. by the time he looks back down on the crowd he sees people have started pushing and shoving to make their way back to the market. Alistar walks along the roof but doesn't wish to risk the jump to the next roof so falls to the cobblestone path below him landing with ease. Hes in a small alley away from the crowds and trying to think of what to do next when he hears that he's not alone in the alley.

Blaine paused as he heard someone enter the alley and pulled his hood up, continuing to lean against the wall. He was never one to talk or initiate conversations with anyone, he generally traveled alone during his time on the beta.

Alistar glances between the hooded figure and the crowd streaming by. He doesn't want to deal with the crowd and would rather it die down a little before he temps his luck and goes out there yet at the same time feels uneasy being around a hooded stranger. Alistar puts as much distance as he can between himself and the figure and then sits down on the cobblestone to wait. He doesn't assume that this figure is a danger but either way Alistar keeps a tight grip on the dagger under his cloak.

Blaine glanced over at the other player, noticing his hand in his cloak. He stood for a moment and then sat down before looking over at Alistair, still wearing his hood. "If you're clutching your weapon, there's no need. Just gonna wait this crowd out and I'll be gone." Blaine said, before looking back at the wall parallel to him. He took out a pipe and lit it, quietly holding it and occasionally taking a drag off it. Age took effect in the game considering things like smoking and taverns.

With the strangers reassurance Alistar put his weapon away. "I'm just waiting for the crowd to die down as well." He says glancing over his shoulder at the stranger. "Its hard to believe this has happened.." He looks back to the crowd, "And it's easy to understand everyone's panic."

"I doubt it'll end anytime soon. But I'd rather get out of town as soon as possible. Before the quests begin getting drained." Blaine replied, looking back at the wall. He took another drag off his wooden pipe before gesturing it to disappear.

Name: Tea Amai

Age: 17
Location: United Kingdom
Height/Weight: 5' 5", 105 lbs
Appearance: Weak and thin, blond-brown hair to breast, pale skin, blue eyes, glassesPersonality: Kind, skittish, very cautious, approachable
Bio: An aspiring artist currently attending an school specialising in it. Her parents were kind enough to give her money for her well-being, but she used it to purchase Enzo and the game. Mostly in hope for the world and people in it to inspire her for more of her artwork. Enjoys playing VR games and just general video games in her spare time.

December 5, 2021   7.56 PM, GMT

Tea rubbed her eyes slowly and yawned. She looked over to her sketchbook on the side of her bed and groaned. It looked pretty bad now that she really could see it. Once again, said girl had been doodling all day, frustratingly scribbling shapes on the rough paper. Fingers feeling sore, she stretched them and rolled her fingers. That was right, the game was preparing to launch soon... She flickered her eyes over towards the Enzo, and sighed. This might give her a bit of excitement...

Her body went limp and she was in. The start-up screen filled her vision.
Name: Tea
Race: Dog (breed: Australian Shepherd)
Class: Warrior

She approved on the information, and entered the actual game. She bounced onto her pads and squealed aloud. She began pouncing on her paws and admiring her furry arms, pushing her paws through the patches and feeling the fluff. "Mm!" She let out a murmur of approval. She even felt a heightened sense of smell, and her ears twitch. Tea walked around with everyone else and socialised awkwardly, but mostly just admired the surroundings. She was wearing a light grey shirt and some jeans, since she wasn't there for the beta and hadn't earned any clothes.

Tea perked as she heard the announcement. She was balancing between her two hind feet in an excited manner before she slouched. Her holographic menu appeared before her, and no exit was seen. All energy was drained as she heard what the voice had to say. Instantly, she fled to the markets while everyone was shrouded in shock to find something to take. She noticed a very small dagger on her waist. Eventually, the dog backed up with a heavy breath, leaning over to stagger into an alleyway. They really took the fact Tea wasn't very good at preserving energy in here. Realistic... maybe too realistic.

"I doubt it'll end anytime soon. But I'd rather get out of town as soon as possible. Before the quests begin getting drained." Blaine replied, looking back at the wall. He took another drag off his wooden pipe before gesturing it to disappear.

"agreed, It would be best to get out of this town and get the quests available before their all gone, but Unlike you I'm not quite made to push through a crowd like that." Alistar replies looking at the strangers size. Alistar, even in game, was scrawny but tall, while the stranger seemed to be a bit stronger looking then himself. Alistar took a few quick steps backwards as a dog warrior stumbled into the alley.

"Well, if that's the case, we'll go in a moment and I'll clear the way," Blaine replied, peering around Alistair to see the new addition to the alley. He looked back to the street, people were still flooding the market and it didn't look like it'd be stopping any time soon.

((Hi Fable  <3

Tea caught her breath, putting her paw on the side of the wall. After a moment, she looked up, "Sorry! I kind of just ended up here... I was getting shoved about..." The warrior put a paw on her brown belt. "I didn't even manage to get anything... only this starter dagger." She screwed up her muzzle. "Do the markets replenish or something?"

"Weekly," Blaine replied, "They didn't expect, or care, about possible fire sales. But the outer lying towns should have small markets." He finished, still leaning against the wall. Pulling his hood up, leaving only a few of his braids and jawline visible, he peered out of the alley. The crowd was beginning to thin, though there were still players panicking as if the meeting was only minutes ago and not an hour.

"If any of us are going to leave this alley, we're gonna have to do it now while the market is clear." Blaine said, standing by the entrance to the street. Only a few vendors were still open, two preferably being an armor and weapon smith. "Well, if you two need anything, now'd be the best time," Blaine said, looking back to Alistair and Tea.
Title: Re: Pariah Online [Semi-Fun RP]
Post by: November on May 30, 2017, 08:58:03 AM
Tea poked her head around he brick wall. "Ah!" She put a paw on her thin clothes and frowned. If this game had any hot levels, this might come in handy if she hadn't bought anything that prevented that sort of thing. She brought up her menu, unequipping the armour and putting it in the inventory. Then, she continued to buy some armour with the little cash she did have, equipping it.

Tea would most definitely be more of a defensive player. She hasn't had any interest in fighting mostly, and was more there to casually work her way up the levels and admire the landscape. She then walked towards the weapon smith. She only had enough for a weapon that was no better than her starter weapon! Damn...

She turned towards Blaine. "Hey, you seem like you know what you're talking about... would I be able to create art and sell it in this world?"

Alistar follows behind the bear player. He hated crowds, they made him very irritable. Alistar kept his hood up and his long cloak pulled around himself. Every once in a while Alistar jumped up on their springy legs to see over the crowds. "I don't need any better armor than this." Alistar answered Blaine "It'll only weigh me down."
Alistar suggests to the dog warrior "you can always take quests in the next town for money." Ali wasn't even really sure if she heard him- and didn't really care he was just anxious to hurry up and get out of town.

"I would think so, you can create mostly anything." Blaine replied, waiting to leave. He kept watch over the crowd and the town exit, which was generally empty. That could either be good or bad.

"Damn, I really shouldn't have got in this game before finding out the basics online or something..." She murmured disapprovingly. She hardly knew how to fight... which, she guessed, was why she was going to be defensive. "What now..." The reckless warrior shuffled her armour on her body and smiled, standing upright. She looked at the crowd. "G-geez!"

"You look...extremely uncomfortable.." Blaine replied, slightly laughing. "But honestly, it'll do for now. On the later floors? Probably not. That goes for all of us." He finished, looking down at his own armor. It was slightly better than the basic ranger armor but he never made it to the next floor in the beta. He looked back up and to the crowd, it was clear enough to leave for the time being. Turning back to Tea and Alistair, he said, "Alright, crowd's thin enough, let's go."

Blaine pushed their way through the crowd, occasionally shoving or pushing other players who wouldn't move out of their way. Eventually, they reached the exit of the town and walked out into Skyridge. The biome the city inhabited was remarkable, mountainsides and tundras surrounded them. Snow wasn't falling yet but the ground was thick with it, glistening in the sunlight. Blaine's boots crunched under the thick snow, making him stop and admire the realism. Sure we're probably going to die here but might as well enjoy it, he thought to himself.

"Okay, here we are. So the first quest site iiiiisss," Blaine said, trying to remember the direction. He looked to the left, pointed and said, "That way at a small village." Taking hos hood off, he shivered slightly, causing his few dreads and long nordic hair to shake. He swiped for his menu and equipped his quiver, arrows and longbow. He then looked up to Tea and Alistair. "If I'm to travel with you two, I'd like the courtesy of an introduction. I'm Blaine," He asked.

Ali was quite happy to be out of the crowd. he hated being so close to other people and pushed around in crowds. but this wide open space in the fresh snow felt amazing and Ali was quite amused at how real everything was!
Alistar dropped his hood as well to pull his long hair up into a bun. "Hello Blaine, I'm Alistar- or Ali" he said to both his new traveling companions then looked to Blaine "you seem quite knowledgeable about the game- I'm assuming you were also one of the beta players?" Alistar was quite impressed with how cold the snow really felt- and how warm his fur was! His long ears also kept his neck quite warm.

As Tea mindlessly followed, or rather followed like a lost puppy, Blaine and Alistar. And as they pushed people out the way offered a sympathetic apology before rushing in before she got swept away. The clunky armour was making her shoulders hurt too. This game seemed almost too realistic! As they breached the open world, a gasp filled her mouth and she clapped.

For a moment, Tea was confused why there was no sound heard as she clapprd. She remembered she had paws and stopped her hesitation. "Wow! Beautiful..." She turned around to Alistar and Blaine. Definitely reminding herself to follow the two, she perked up. Her ears pricked. "I'm Tea. Or just T." She paused. That sounded a lot better in her head. "As in, the letter T. I guess it makes no difference out loud." Embarassed, she looked over to Blaine as Alistar talked to him.

"Yeah, I joined right after it was released." Blaine replied, adjusting his cloak over his right shoulder. As a bear, one of his species personal traits was a resistance to the cold ((this is also shared by long furred species)) so he wasn't bothered by the snow or wind. Pulling up his menu, he sent Alistair and Tea both party invites. "So we can keep track if we get lost." He explained, looking to them both.

Australian Shepherds had thick coats, which was great except it weighed her down a bit. In hot climates she' have to get a shave. She wondered how brutally evil the gamemaker would be if he set a hot climate level and directly after a cold level...  It made her chiver.

Tea accepted the invite without hesitation. "Thanks!"

Alistar also accepts the friend request. It was logical to stick with a group for now. This game has proved a new level of danger and being alone in this world of instant death was not something Alistar wanted to do.
"we should probably star heading to the next town, other players will be on their way there as well." Alistar pulled his hood back up in place. these two travelers seemed nice enough but Ali was never that great at instantly trusting and being friendly with strangers.

Blaine nodded and equipped his longbow, taking point in the group and walking down the barely visible road. He kept his eye out for anything useful, hostile or otherwise.

Tea followed and was trailing behind a bit, she was really taking the scenery in and was mumbling to herself how pretty it was. Occasionally, they'd hear the quick pawsteps of Tea running to catch them up, and it almost became rhythmic. She began walking quicker. "I can't get over how beautiful this place is. Bittersweet, huh..?"

(I wouldn't say it's too late, your post could just go over the events that happened?)

"it is truly beautiful isn't it?" Alistar replies. he doesn't look back at tea as he talks but does truly agree with her. "It's all so amazingly real that I feel in time people may even forget they are in a game. even this new body- it feels so real." Ali was dragging his long tail in the snow- it wasn't very cold because of his thick fur but the snow was building up on his tail making his tail look much lighter in color than it really was. "the game will only get more beautiful as we leave the starting area."

Blaine silently listened to them, still watching for any kind of threat. He doubted the fact that death was now real would stop PK'ers from hunting.

((The thread is always open! November is right, just kinda brush up on the events))

"Oh!" She looked over to a berry bush and trotted over. She pulled out an in-built camera and took a photo, uploading it to a gallery, where she scanned it over and imported it to the internet. She sat on her haunches and read up on them. "They're not poisonous. Do you think it'd be worthwhile to take some?"

(Well, If I'm making a character, would a shaman class do? No major magic. Mainly a healer with benefits of some witchcraft.)

Ali looked over to see T inspecting the berry bushes. "Can if you want- but it might be best if we keep moving for now- never know how many other players may be lurking around here." Ali was still feeling a tad paranoid. The idea of instadeath in this game really made him feel uneasy.

Blaine stopped and waited for the others, but also listening intently to the surrounding forests. The usual could be heard, deer and other wildlife, but another sound could be heard. Hushed whispers and footsteps. "We need to hurry. PK'ers are going to be out at this point." He said, lifting his bow and activating a class skill. His eyes glowed more, going from dark blue to a baby blue hue. He could see through the woods and darkness, revealing the deer he heard but no group of players. He tensed up, knowing they were either alone or being stalked by rogue classes.

((A shaman/healer is okay but instead of magic healing, maybe instead alchemical healing? Witchcraft is okay too since it's not like straight up visible spellcraft ))

Tea looked up, after picking the berries off of the bushes. She was pretty sure she would personally need them, even if they didn't, since she'd splashed out her money on this armour to keep her warmer and safer. Tea perked her ears and began slowly walking towards Blaine. It still hadn't really occurred she shouldn't have been so bold to do things, and that her life on the first day may be in danger.

"If PK'ers are already out I think we should hurry to the next town. After a few missions we can stock up on better supplies- and hopefully survive the game." Ali says his long ears twitching and turning trying to hear something. Ali kept a tight grip on his daggers and continued trudging through the snow

(what all kind of class skills could we have? and how does one acquire those kinds of skills in this game?
The skill I'm thinking for ali has to do with pick pocketing.)

((Each class is different. Healers skills are based in alchemy, warriors in combat/defense, rangers in sight/detection and rogues in stealth/theft. I'll add more later. And no, they are accessible from the beginning but they progress in skill level))

Blaine nodded and gestured the group to follow again. Silently, they made their way through the forest until they reached a small, quiet village. Fires burned and the noises of a village could be heard. Spotting a tavern, Blaine perked up and lead the group there.

Here it is:

Here's the new reply:
"Can we still be killed within towns?" Tea asked uneasily. "Or, while we're asleep?" The Aussie began following behind them, though now she was striding and pushing herself forwards to get there quickly. Her ears began pricking and flapping in the wind.

"No, towns are safe zones. Combat can only be initiated with hostile NPC's. But I don't know about sleeping," Blaine said, stopping at the porch of the tavern. The building looked like something out of a book on the Vikings, it's entire body being a flipped warship that was converted into a tavern. "We'll stop here and figure things out," He said, still looking at the tavern. He pulled his hood down, sheathed his bow and walked up to the door.

Attached to the wall was a sign, reading The Four Swords. He pulled the door open, letting out a gust off warm air and noise. Walking in, Blaine found a table nearby and immediately sat down, opening his menu.

Ali followed Blaine into the tavern. he was glad to be out of the cold as he followed Blaine to the table. Ali looked around the tavern and saw a few people here and there, mostly all drinking and seeming to mind their own business. Ali put his daggers away but made sure he could grab them if needed.

As Tea walked in, the stench of alcohol filled her senses. She couldn't believe the pub was already being occupied. Then again, she remember NPCs which should have filled empty spaces. She was surprised some players were here drinking already, still. Tea sat down at a nearby chair and hummed a little. "I'm just going to have some hot chocolate."

Digital menus opened in front of everyone, with options ranging from tea to mead to hot cocoa. Blaine ordered mead, having grown fond of its' honey taste during the beta. "Even though it's an irrelevant skill, cooking is something I want to master." Blaine said, looking at the food options.

Closing the tavern menu, he opened his inventory and took out his wooden pipe. Leaning back in the chair, he lifted his hood and took a drag from his pipe.

Alistar browsed the menu for quite some time eventually settling on tea. "learning skills is always useful, even if they seem irrelevant." He replied to Blaine. Alistar kept his hood up but relaxed against his chair resting his long feet on a nearby empty chair. "I printed off a list of all the skills in this game back home- wish I still had it..." Alistar honestly wishes he had paid more attention during his time in beta. He feels so lost in this game which makes him very uneasy.

(I apologize for the late reply- been busy with work. I'll try to keep up with the story better from now on)
