Title: Fallout
Post by: Farewell on March 14, 2016, 04:15:31 AM
Zaida finished the power armor, having to repair it due to the mutants doing a bit of damage on the torso and left leg. Repainted it as well, a dark grey and moving the emblem to the shoulder. She sat back down and huffed wiping her face, not overly fond of repairing or upgrading, as it wasn't something she was very good at. "Damn mutants..." She hissed under her breath.
Zaida walked outside with a bottle of water, squinting slightly before her eyes adjusted to the sun's light. The landscape wasn't a pretty sight but it was something to appreciate.

Name: Vex Farivin
Age: 24
Personality: Cunning, vicious, brutal, impatient
Species: Red Fox
Vault, Town, or Organization: Caesars Legion
Weapons: Sledgehammer and a combat shotgun
Armor: Heavy Legionary Armor
Special (21 to use) S:6 P:3 E:5 C:1 I:3 A:2 L:1
Occupation: Speculatores
Backstory: Vex was born and grew up in the city of Denver, belonging to a feral violent pack  in the south side of Dog City. When the legion came, they came with an iron fist, and quickly beat out both the NCR and the packs that fought for control over the city. Vexs tribe put up a fight, but like the rest, in the end fell to legion blade, her leader burned alive infront of the rest of the pack in order to show strength. But she refused to become a slave, in the final days before her tribe was taken over she cut her hair and binded her chest, posing as a male worrier and getting assimilated into the legions ranks. From there she stayed in disguise, finding the legion life style much like her own one, and deciding to stay. So the fox covered up her scent and deepened her voice to become more raspy like a mans, ontop of her already bulky build. To avoid doctors she learned to patch her own wounds, and fought to be put on a small scouting team to avoid base camps.

After the fall of Caesar and the Legion decended into chaos, the Denver branch was quickly brought to order under the rule of Centurion Larvis, who pledged to rule until the Legion found a new leader. While the different remnants of the Legion set their sights on the NCR and the west, Larvis looked East, planning to set up diffrent outposts there and rebuild the torn factions strength. So scouting parties were sent out, Vexs group being sent out to The Commonwealth to gather information. But what seemed like a lucky break for the fox turned out to be a disaster after her scouting party was ambushed and slaughtered by sinths.

Ray slipped in between the dilapidated buildings existing within the horrifying Glowing Sea, separated from the world outside by the thick plexi-glass and yellow covering that was his hazmat suit.  He whistled quietly, as he scavenged about for anything useful. Ray'd gotten into building guns, and was relatively interested by this 'Power Armor' concept.

Whack! Whack! Whack! Vexs hammer came down one last time on the synths head, turning it into nothing more then flattened scrap. From her paws the sledgehammer fell, the vixen dropping back onto the ground panting heavily; the shoulderpads that made up the top part of her Legion uniform seeming to constrict around her neck. Her fellow scouting party layed in a bloody mess around her, their corpses mixed in with the metal skeletons of the synths that ambushed them, leaving her the only survivor of this expedition. It didnt bother her as much as it should of, she was used to death, and this didnt change the mission she still had. The Legion needed a base of operations in the Commonwealth and she was going to set one up. Grabbing her hammer again, she used it to help her self up from the dirt, taking one last look at the bodies around her before continuing down the road.

Ted entered his small bunker out in the wastes, its entrance hidden under a pile of boulders on the side of a hill.

Today was a bad day, he had found nothing on his scavenging trips today and was down to just 5 sticks of dynamite.

And to make matters worse opening his pantry he found himself face to face with a bottle of Nuka Cola and a box of Cram... the last of his food.

He twitched abit tail whipping suddenly left and right and head snapped to the side agitated, grabbing the Nuka Cola he popped the cap off on the counter then pocketed it.

Leaving his bunker he began the 2 mile trek to town, carefully picking his way through the few mines outside...

After a while, Ray felt that he had cooked long enough in the Sea, and decided to pack up and head home. Or, rather, the burned out cat that served as a tiny retreat.  The young raccoon figured he could get some food, a little sleep, and sell his junk and information. He'd caught a weak radio transmission while scavving, but couldn't pinpoint it. Kinda sad, this transmission, it depicted a Raider' s difficult situation, a broken 'suit', whatever that meant, and getting cooked by radiation. Almost made Ray cry, no-one should be left to die in that miserable place. Ray sighed in relief, as his Geiger counter eventually went quiet, and began to take his suit off. The hermetic seal around the helmet' s base hissed loudly, as it depressurized, and Ray took a deep breath, his fur matted and damp from the exertion and his breath.

Ted picked his way through the wastes, checking just over hills and peeking around rocks before moving, avoiding any potentially dangerous areas.

Having made this trip numerous times it didn't take long, ted finishing the cola just before reaching town placing it in a pile with bottles from other trips.

Sanctuary... ever hopeful in the apocalypse, it seemed alot of towns were named similarly, having raided a few himself he knew the name meant little.

Twitching mildly ted entered the town and made for the general store.

Mr Sammy was listening to a radio on a pip boy that...well was still on a dead mans arm. Moving on from that he looked for anything that could be some peaceful people. But over the rumble and avoiding some mole rats. He kept all three eyes out for anybody who didn't want to kill him. But sadly it seemed today just wasn't cut out for him. But that didn't bother him that much. But when he heard a loud thud on his body from a weak fire arm. He picked up the hover pace and got out of there. So when he got out of sight of the shooter. He went back to his internal map and noticed a unexplored area. "Oh splendid!" He hummed to himself as he thought a town was in going to be near.

As Zaida watched the sun rise she took a sip of water while sitting down in the small concrete wall, most of it was rubble, however was a fine place to sit since it gave a view of the commonwealth aroun her.
The Vexū walked back inside the base entering her paladin power armor wasn't much but it did a fairly good job of protection. Walking out of the base she started her journey, mainly to find bases, clear out, or help those in need. Often she thought deeply, Asking herself the same question the elder would scold her for. 'Not all were like that, cold, vulgar creatures... Are they?' However didn't like to get to caught up in her thoughts. It was something she would have to push aside. She looked at a small map on her armor, sanctuary seemed to be closest and wasn't a hard route. Zaida had some items she could sell for a good amount of caps as well as check around the area.

Ray, after a few minutes, groaned loudly. His pack, containing his food and clothes, was gone. Though he was wearing boxers, the young raccoon wasn't keen on walking home semi-nude, but it seemed like that was his only choice. He sighed again, and walked towards Sanctuary, his Hazmat suit bundled up and placed in his Glowing Sea backpack, labeled as such. He pushed on to Sanctuary, ducking Raiders and Ghouls when possible, and running when necessary.

"**censor** out dated peice of shit..." Vex growled to herself as she looked over her map, doing all she could to control her anger and not tear the thing in half. The Legion didnt have a good idea of this area, and much recon wasnt done, leaving their maps mediocre at best. The building that was supposedly in the spot she stood currently wasnt here, so now she had to trek on and find another. "Whats this?" She says, her eyes scanning to the top left part of the map. Vault 101? A vualt would be great for a Legion HQ, and could be extremely well defended. And if the vixen was lucky, there would only be ghouls in the town below it. Oh, and also if it was there in the first place.

Folding the map back up she ticked it into her belt and began to make her way north, heading for the town called "Sanctuary".

There were three figures standing in the middle of nowhere in the common wealth. Just surrounded by trees… and the swamp. There were also a number of dead bodies lying on the ground. Some were mangle, cut in two by some wicked creature, or perforated with bullet wounds till they look like swiss cheese. Two of them were busy nervously tearing up the ground with shovels. The other, a female sergal wearing sunglasses, was casually leaning on a large, and very much alive giant Radiscorpian.

The scorpion it’s self was wearing a series of metal plates on it’s body.  Plates of metal lied it’s back with thick segments of hardened leather covering the gaps. The tail had it’s own couplings of steel, and the claws were also wrapped up with heavy metal plates. The creature also bares a small cushioned pad on it’s tail. It seems that this scorpion had been tamed by the sergal at point.

“Hurry up boys…” Reeva, the sergal, growled to the other two whos clothing and tattoos marked them as raiders. The woman was now impatiently tapping her foot on the ground. “I Don’t plan on waiting all day.”

“Yeah!? You’re just going to kill us, so why wait *****”

“Because… two bodies dig graves faster than one body. And damnit… I liked that girl ya shot. So, dig their graves before sunset, and then you can start workin on your own if ye want to be buried.”

Ray, as he made his way back to Sanctuary, stumbled over a corpse, brutally torn asunder. He blinked, and scrabbled away quickly. The young raccoon looked around, and spotted the sergal female leaning against the armored scorpion, and the two raiders digging their own graves. Confused by the situation, Ray ducked behind a tree, and observed. As he watched, his footing slipped, and noisily snapped a few twigs, the loud popping quite profound in the near-silence.

Reeva had to give it to the two raiders... they really wanted to be burried. Not a fuss was made, nor a slip to be had. In fact, the serval was actually mildly impressed with the record time the graves were dug. The few good settlers from the raider's onslaught were given a proper burrial... even if the graves that were dug were shallow. Now With the sun creeping it's way to the horizon, the raiders were already working on their graves. There was some chatter among them, but the sergal was hardly paying attention. Instead, her eyes fixated on the girls grave in deep thought.

"She was a good one too..." she thought bitterly to herself. "What a waste."

Though... like all things in the waste... the moment of silence came to an end when she heard a loud snap. Her gaze snapped to it. Giving the Raiders a brief moment to try and take back their own lives.

The first one spun around with the shovel gripped like a club. He rushed towards Reeva with the impromtu weapon raised high. Though his assault was made worthless as the giant scorpion let out a loud scree and quickly made a grab at the man's leg. The vice like grip crushed the limb immediately, dropping the screaming raider to the ground. The scorpion was on it in an instant, kicking up dust as it violently ripped and stabbed into the man.

The next one, was less brave. He tried to run, but he didn't make it past twenty meters before a bullet fairly ripped. It tore through his chest, exiting the front and dropping the body to the ground.

Reeva, who was now holding a smoking revolver, quickly worked it's hammer and spun the weapon towards the direction of the sound. She hadn't fired just yet. Instead, she seemed to be scanning the landscape for any signs of hostiles.

Ray blinked,, hoping the sergal was reasonable. Killing bandits puts them in the right, in my book, the young raccoon thought, as he spoke. "D-Don't shoot! Friendly! I-I'm just...tryin' to get to Sanctuary." He contemplated stepping out of the cover of the tree, but thought better of it, the situation was still to volatile. Not to mention the big-ass scorpion, can't believe they tamed one. The young raccoon was bewildered at the thought, he figured radiation ate most of their ability to think.

Vex stared into her map as she walked along, growing angrier by the second. She needed to hit something, or break something or... or! Before the vixen realized it she tore up the map, seething with rage. "Stupid out dated map. Stupid **censor** robots in this stupid **censor** Commonwealth." She begin to hiss, but stopped as she saw two people on the road up ahead, her curiosity taking the edge off her anger. Stopping in her tracks, she gripped her sledge hammer tight, eyeing the two and the big ass scorpion they had. (Is Reeva in any sort of NCR gear?)

Ted entered the town and walked a little ways inside, finding a shady spot he sat with his back against the wall and pulled a small wooden board from his bag propping it up in front of him.

On the front of the board in small print read, "Explosions for less! Problem solving at reasonable prices!"

((No, she's not. Being retired kinda means you're no longer representing them. So unless it's a special occasion, you're not supposed to wear the gear. Though her hat would probably be a give away if he can recognize the NCR Grey Hat. Which bares no symbol on it at all.))

Reeva was dressed in a long sleeve duster. The sleeves could have easily gone past her wrists, but they were folded back and latched with a strap. The jacket easily streatched down and past her knees, almost reaching her feet. She wore a brownish desperado with a decorative band wrapped around the crown. She continued to stare into the direction of the sound, till she heard a voice. She raised a brow almost immediately when she heard it, and then sighed softly. She believed who ever it was, wasn't a threat... but years as a Ranger told her to not trust such a disarming voice. For all she knew, it could have been some jerk that she missed in the shoot out, ready to put a round between her eyes.

"Alright. Come on out... slowly. With your hands up," She called out. Her finger now moving off the trigger to wrap around the guard instead. Her gaze did flick just briefly to the newcomer... who looked more like a threat ready to happen. However... the distance between the two made her less of a problem. Push comes to shove, Mittens would take care of the sod if she pushed in ready to kill.

And speaking of mittens, the large scorpion had just finished ripping apart the bandit, leaving a mess of limbs as it now placed it's self in front of the Sergal, turned sideways, giving her some cover with it's armored chitlin, while it's beady eyes were set on the necomer. It's body was low with it's tail laid down on the ground to keep it from exposure. It seemed it was also keeping it's self busy by chowing down on a severed arm.

Vex only stared and watched the scorpion rip apart the body, deciding she didnt want to deal with that shit right now. Besides, if one of these people were from this vault, she didnt want to make a bad first impression before the Legion got here. They would learn soon anyways. Keeping her eyes on the two ahead she started forward again, hefting her sledgehammer over her shoulder as she started to go around them. Her armor was a heavy varient of a normal Legion uniform, with a metal plated crimson skirt and reinforced shoulderpads made from old world football gear. On her chest bore the Legion bull, and the words "Vae Vicis" printed across her back.

She simply let out a growlas she began to pass them, a crimson cloth covering the lower half of the vixens muzzle.

Reeva raised a brow as he saw the raccoon step out… in a hazard suit? Well, she can’t blame the choice of clothing in this god forsaken place. Still, he didn’t look like a raider, so no harm was intended indeed. The sergal heaved off of a soft sigh as she dipped the revolver’s barrel towards the ground, and gently squeezed the trigger, then pushed the hammer up to disengage it without firing. Once that was done, she reholstered her weapon and lifted her rifle off of the ground.

She reslung the rifle on her shoulder, and looked up in time to see a… oh dear. Her head recoiled gently as she saw a Caesar’s legionare brazenly walking by… growling at the two of them. What in the nine hells was –she- doing here exactly? It’s a long journey away from the Mojave, and the legion had never been big on out casting. No… they’d rather make an example out of delinquents.

She allowed her gaze to stay fixed on the woman curiously until she was just out of range. Then she just lightly shook her head. What ever it was, it certainly wasn’t her problem now. “You can move now,” She called out to the coon, “I’m not going to bite.”

The door to a house with medical cross painted on it opened up and an old Mole came out in a beat up wheel chair. He was followed by Sylveon that most people knew as Lenna, who was the town's doctor and mechanic.
"You did excellent today Mr. Gunderson, with the amount of work you today we will have you walking in no time at all." She said to the Mole who gave her a soft smile.
"Thanka kindly miss Lenna. If it weren't for you I would be stuck in Thai wheelchair the rest of my life." Said Mr. Gunderson.
"The pleasure is also mine." Lenna said and waved goodbye before head back into her makeshift medical clinic.

“Scavvers…” Reeva began, giving Ray a very dry look. She licked her lips, and placed her hands on her hips. This time the tone of disbelief began to set in. “Scavvers… took your stuff… You were near the glowing sea… without clothes… and they took your stuff.” She moved a hand over her snout and inhaled sharply. She honestly couldn’t believe what she was hearing right now.

“Boy… I don’t know what sort of game you’re playing right now, but I’d suggest you come clean. Because you’re starting to sound like a sheep in wolf’s clothing if you catch my drift.” Her hand dropped to her side once more as she looked him dead in the eye.

“I find it hard to believe that anyone looking to stay alive would be standing next to a pit of radiation in just their drawls, get robbed, and wonder around the wasteland… SOME HOW inconspicuous to any wastelander jerk looking for a free kill and a blood bath. Especially ever sense the leather jerks moved into that area. Who I might add… skin people and wear their skins. You were basically a display to them at that point. And if under some miracle, you’re not lying to me… how the HELL did you make it past twelve?"

(Vex is disguised as and would apper to be a guy, since they dont exactly allow women in the Legion :P)

Vex only gave a passing glance back at the two before turning forward once more, seeing this place called "Sanctuary" up ahead, and even more to her annoyance that it was now a settlement. The fox needed to kill something, now, and looked around for an unfortunate subject to take the anger out on. She would need it before entering the town, and a mole rat sniffing around an abandoned gas station would do nicely. With a bloodthirsty grin and a loud yell, she charges forward and slammed her hammer into the side of the unsuspecting mole rat, sending it squeeling into the dirt. The sledge then came down on its head and ending its noise, a roar of laughter coming from the Legionaries mouth before she wiped its blood from her hammer.

"Doooon't worry about it," The sergal sighed as she slung her rifle back over her shoulder. She gave the scorpion a small pat on the head. A moment later the sand scoipion quickly burrowed under ground. "Clothes ain't hard to come by when you got people who think they're the toughest nail in the board trying to take you down."

Vexs ears twitch as she hears a voice, growling instantly as she turns to face Lenna. "You mean the beast? Why would I not kill it?" She grins under her bandanna, walking forward to stand right infront of Lenna."Was it your pet? If so Id suggest finding another one, and one that doesnt crack so easy under my hammer." She laughed, tilting her head as she pictures how Lennas body would look strung up outside the vault. "Tell me profligate, how do you feel about chains and crosses?"

Zaida headed down to sanctuary not to far of the street, it usually lead to trouble walking in an open road. She stopped at the gas station which wasn't too far from the town however saw a vixen and sylveon and closer to sanctuary was a coon and sergal. Didn't expect many anthro's were going to head to sanctuary hills... she thought with a raised brow under her helmet. With a soft sigh she started to approach the two keeping her guard up, hearing the threat come from the vixen mouth. "Don't think that's necessary." Her voice was deep from her power armor helmet. Her eyes scanned her body up and down and then looked over at the sylveon doing the same. Hmp. A legion and a doctor it seems.

Lenna eyes start to grow wide with tears and she runs back to sanctuary balling.
"If you think your getting away with, just wait till Preston gets involved!" Lenna says and as she ran over the bridge. The minute men posted to guard the front entrance glare at Vex as many people in sanctuary called Lenna a friend.

Reeva paused midstep and turned to look back to the man. She slowly removed her glasses, her blue eyes giving him a look of ‘are you serious right now?’. She closed them and slipped them into a pocket in her duster as she licked her lips.

“Hunny… you don’t stay near animals all that much do you? They all act by instinct. It’s in their DNA, even before the war.” She turned aound and crossed her arms. She held a contemplative look, mostly trying to figure out how to explain this.

“Most animals will only haunt whatever is smaller than them, or when they have a large enough chance. Some are just plain out territorial.”

“Mittens here… I hatched him and raised him. You need a bit of charisma if you want em to follow you like that. But you can domesticate them like any other animal. Done it with death adult death claws too. Sounds crazy… I know.”

Vex watched Lenna run away crying, a twisted laugh leaving her muzzle. "Yes, go tell your minutemen what the big bad Legionary has done, they cannot help you." She called after before turning her attention to Zaida. "And I will decide what is and is not necessary /tincan/" the vixen growled. Vex herself would have the appearance of a man, a bit muscular with short hair styled up into a mohawk. Her voice is husky and raspy, something hust a bit off about it. "You know there arnt many Brotherhood of Steel members in the Mojave. Even less in Denver." She pulls down her bandanna around her neck, sniffing at the woman infront of her. "You know the last time I say a BoS member was when my patrol came across a suit with a dead core. We carved him out of it and burned him alive." A smile flashes across her lips. "Oh yes, fond memories of your organization."

Living in New California she had never met legions only heard of them. It was a shame the fox had gave off a bad rep it was something she held onto "Hmhm" Zaida looking down at the canine studying her oncemore. She ignored the fox heading towards sanctuary she was easily annoyed and didn't want to grow angry Acts like a super mutant... she obviously wasn't a threat to her now, and the Vexū didn't care about her threats or stories. She had work to do and it needed to be done, Zaida wasn't planning to waste her time talking with a screwy fox with anger issues. Growing close to the sergal and coon as she did.

Greeeaaat… it seems her new companion was missing something dear to him. She gave him a raise of the brow and sighed softly to himself. She slowly shook her head before for looking back to him. “Tell you what…” She began. She was already starting to wander if she was going to regret the next line of words to come spilling out of her mouth.

Buuut… a posse couldn’t hurt. No matter how skilled he was. That is only if this guy is not the sort to shoot you in the arse by complete accident.

“I’m headin out to go hunt down a particular scavver. A real douche according to his wanted poster. You want your crap back, the only way you’re getting it is by chasing down the scavers. Since you and I are heading the same route, I’ll follow ya. But first…”

She then began to walk towards sactuary. “I got another bounty to turn in,” She hummed as she fished out her sunglasses once again and replaced them over her eyes.

She continued walking… until she came across the same fox from before. And it seems like she was causing trouble with some force of nature that she shouldn’t even be touching. Reeva would be wandering what caused the two to T off on each other in such a fashion... but the moment the boy began to spew out the typical legionare garbage pretty much told the story all together. It also confirmed the sergal's previous suspicion. Still... that fact wasn't necessarily her problem. Not unless that tribal started swinging at the wrong party. It was an interesting thought though... Reeva certainly was no sheriff, nor intended to be. But if violence breaks out, she might at least get on the BOS's good side. Jobs are hard to come by these days... and dealing with Good Neighbor frequently resulted in a thirst for change.

She sighed… and called out to the two. “Child… you’re facing a bull made of steel, and powered by nuclear fission. I reckon I don’t have to say this but when you mess with the bull, you get the horns.”

I've never met the legions before only heard of them, however if this is how they act? Hmp They must not be very smart." she simply said with a huff. Walking past the sergal and coon, giving glance at the two Boeing her head lightly as a greeting before heading into sanctuary to trade. Many anthro's looked over at the BOS paladin, some whispering. "Because with out that armor what is she? Nothing. Without my armor I am still a dog of Denver, and I will rip her throat from her body with my teeth." Vex looked the Sergal up and down before placing her bandana over her muzzle again, her anger starting to recede. "Now out of my way, I have a mission to complete." He took a drag from a stale cigarette, nobody seemed to be in a particularly  good  mood and the armored  anthros seemed ready to explode if anyone  so much as farted...

His hand holding  the cig twitched  along with a foot sending the cig to the dirt, brushing  it off he stuck it back to his lips and decided  today was a day not to say anything in case of getting  a  bullet to the face.

He leaned  back against  the scrap pile and rested his eyes.

Reeva continued walking as she made her way into the town. She continued on with the description of the Legion, and there affairs while keeping a sense of awareness of her surroundings. “During my time in service as a Ranger, I’ve had a number of run ins with the group. Many of them were violent, a few were just incredibly tense moments. Of those few I got a good look at them. The sort of look beyond the propaganda garbage you’re fed. Enough to form your own opinion.”

She snorted as she turned down a street and pushed past a bear talking with a cat.

“It’s… disappointing to be honest. They represent humanity in a state of being sheep following the Shephard with the bell because the wolves are far greater in number, and hungry. It’s a fair thought however, if you’re a tribe that’s constantly being assaulted by raiders, and other tribes. Where the gene pool becomes so terribly stagnant that you father is also your brother.”

She glanced back to her new companion looking him in the eye. “This isn’t even me being presumptuous. It’s a thing.”

She turns back around and keeps walking.

“The legion does provide those tribes a few things they lack. Protection, a larger gene pool so the troubles of inbreeding diminished, along with the scarcity of food. However, with it comes it’s own set of problems. Their understanding of the world is limited to the wisdom of a hunter-gatherer nature. It’s not bad, and it’s wiser than 90% of the wasteland. But at the same time, knowing the general concept of how water evaporates to become rain is considered to be a level of intelligence above average with the Legion.”

She then paused looking up to an abandoned suit of BOS armor. She recognized a number of the dings, it appears that she had met the owner earlier… and she left it… in the open. Charming. Reeva sighed and shook her head slowly.

“Continuing on that notion… ninety percent of them do not actually know what the word ‘profligate’ actually means but they use it as an insult. Of the ten percent left, six percent of that knows the meaning, but do not know the proper use case. The word is both an adjective and a noun, but when used as a noun you’re calling people whores. Which, I might add, is a case of pure irony when you look at the Legion life style. So! Of the four percent left… they not only use the word correctly, but they’re not hypocrites about it. BUT WAIT! Hold on! Let's take a look at what their society is based on! The ROMAN EMPIRE! The largest military faction who met their doom in a crisis of debt. They weren't very big on making money, but they certainly were big on religion. And one that's not as batshit insane as the Children of the Atom. That religion plainly stated that a whoring is sex before marriage. And a Bastard is the product of two unmarried parents. So with that in mind… you now have an idea of what the Legion –REALLY- is. Not from the mind of a NCR Ranger. From the mind of a person who had to ************ deal with them face to face. Ninety-Seven percent hypocrites with logic as fallacious as a brick house floating in the ocean. And to put this into context... a re-known military made of a majority of whores and bastards. Not like the NCR is any better, at least were're somewhat honest with ourselves.”

She then snorts as she takes a seat at an outdoor bar, and begins to dig through her bags. She pulls out... a healthy looking kitten and hands it to the meanest looking dude at that establishment. The man seemed to have made some sort of girly squee and hugged this precious feline after offering up her payment. It seemed her bounty was tracking down a group this man owed some caps too, and recover his feline companion they stole. A touching ordeal... one that Reeva could understand and was willing to do such a dangerous job for... 15 caps.

Anthro's often stopping to stare and pups daring eachother to poke it which she didn't mind at all. However the Vexū watched carefully for any thieves that would be stupid enough to take the Armor however the sanctuary was a safe place and knew it probably wasn't happen, but didn't mean she put her guard down. She just wanted to take a break, and stretch from being in the suit most of the time. Taking a drink of the Nuka cola she sighed through her nose and tossed the glass in the trash right beside the bench. Her foot tapping against the floor and her hand went through her hair. Probably be best if I stayed the night here... Could rent a room in the bar. she thought looking over to the bar.

Ray nodded, quietly. He wasn't too sure what Reeva was going on about, he'd never heard of the Roman Empire, Legion, NCR, or religion, outside of what the disciples of the Children of Atom spewed at him while he was poking about the Glowing Sea.  As he walked along, Ray's stomach groaned, he hadn't eaten in a while, and the sky around the Sea didn't change much, usually from a lighter shade of brown and death to a darker one. He'd lost a very interesting watch that told him the day. The day! He'd didn't know there were arbitrary names for each day-to-night cycle. He kept track with his notebook, which was now lost. This thought made Ray upset, moreso with himself than the scavvers. As he walked, the young raccoon was lost in thought, catching only snippets of Reeva's story.

Vex finished jotting down her log, including in it the synth attack thay wiped out the scouting party and the gas station incident, making sure to note the BoS in the area. After she was done, she tucked the book back into her bag and stood up, taking another glance around. She noticed the scorpion woman and the not so nude raccoon had entered into town, but besides that things seemes normal. Calm. "Fools." She mutteres to herself. "I hope they all enjoy becoming slaves." She grins at the thought and leaves to find the path to the vault. It didnt take long to find, and after climbing the hill up to it, she stared down at the enterance. It baffled her a bit, as she had never seen a vault door in the ground, but surly it could not be hard to figure out. Kicking aside a charres skeleton, she walked up into the control booth, looking over the rusty and dust coveres control before gripping onto the handle and giving it a pull. It resistes at first, but with a bit more strength and a loud squeel it gives, pulling down and initiating the vault opening sequence. Orange lights began to flare and loud sirens went off, followed moments later by the loud, high pitched squeel of the vault door sliding from its entrancehand lowering down. "Hmm, it works like an elevator. Interesting."

As the day went on, everything seemed calm. A radio broadcast, however, ruined the tranquility.

"Any Minutemen hearing this?! Please, respond! The Castle is under attack! The Brotherhood of Steel are attacking! Elite squads! Black and red arm-augh!" A laser rifle shot cut the radio operator short, and another voice spoke. "We own this place now!" The voice walked away, power-armor hydraulics working as it went. After a few moments, a few people could be heard marching, behind them a tracked vehicle parked. Someone dismounted, and spoke up. "Sir! They're broadcasting. What should we do?"

Another voice, deep and commanding, spoke up above the din. "Let them hear, the Brotherhood shouldn't hide." After a few minutes of equipment being moved, the radio cut out.  Several minutemen stormed the bar, and kept Zaida at gunpoint. "Don't move, Knight!" A few minutemen stood guard by Zaida's power-armor, keeping anyone from it.

The Vexū's tail Tossed the vertibird signal Grenade. She quickly took cover behind the counter of a food stand. Zaida quickly retrieved her laser rifle, and quickly loading it. Through out the fight, the lone Ranger felt numb as the bullets continued to fly back and forth. Some even whizzing by her head. Not that she seemed to notice, oddly. Instead... she found himself stuck in her own thoughts. A glass of water in hand, and her eyes fixated on it. A bullet wizzed by, and struck the bottom of the glass, causing it to explode. This didn't seem to move her either.

"Who do you serve..." a voice ran in her head. "When your fight is over, but the real fight never ends, soldier?"

That was a question that even now she couldn't answer. Still lost in her own thoughts, she slowly looked up and peered off to the side, now seeing the fight advance further down sanctuary. It appears that a single vertibird had gotten involved. She watched as the gunner's missed shots wrecked all sorts of havok. Tearing down civilian structures, and even clipping or causing unnecessary casualties. All of which, according to the Geneva Conventions that the NCR followed, were high violations of war. Something that the Brotherhood never followed. This just might be her problem now, unfortunately.

The woman shook her head softly as she pulled herself out of her seat. She rolled the rifle off of her shoulder and took aim at the chopper. She kept herself in the shade under the bar's awning to give her some concealment while she deliberately took each shot.

The first two were fired when the vertibird grew still enough. The shots met their mark. The fist one bit into the knight's shoulder stunning him as well as drawing a puff of blood. The second skipped off of the barrel of the minigun and tore into his chest. The bullet's tumble leaving to a wound that was much worse than it should have been. Either way, the knight fell backwards into the chopper screaming. He wasn't dead, yet.

Seeing the effects of her effort, Reeva was quick to change her target. Just as the pilot looked back to see what happened to her companion was when the third and fourth shot rang out from the barrel of her rifle. The first one weakened the glass. The second tore through. The rounds velocity wasn't enough to kill, but it wasn't needed. The impact was still hard enough to daze the pilot when it struck her helmet and send the vehicle out of control. It was obvious that some attempt was made to keep the vehicle under control. It was futile though. All the same the powerful gunship spun out of control and hit the ground in a blaze of glory outside of sanctuary.

Ray had, as soon as the first shot rang out, flipped over a table, and proceeded to cower. He pressed himself lower onto the floor when the Ranger opened fire. He hadn't been in a full-scale fire-fight, or even near one. The young raccoon always took to the underground, or the rooftops.

The Minutemen, having a slight inkling of what a trap looked like, set up 'siege positions' around the Red Rocket Gas Station, piling whatever they could to create cover as they waited. One Minuteman shouted out to Raz. "Come out, without weapons or armor!"

Elder Maxon was quick to contact any and all Knights in operation. "Attention, Brothers! The attack on the Castle was NOT our own. I fear we may have been exposed to a very dangerous group. Return to the Prydwen, immediately. Do not engage any locals, repeat, do NOT engage the Minutemen!"

Vex was about to enter onto the vault door when the sounds of gunfire rang out from the town below, drawing her attention to the chaos that quickly ensued underneath. She couldn't tell much what was happening from where she was, but a vertibird flying overhead before crashing down was evidence enough the BoS were involved. "Starting the fight without ne eh?" She says, grinning as she slips her shotgun from her shoulder. If the BoS was going to cause a fight with these so called "Minute Men" then what kind of Legionary would she be if she did not participate? Besides, this gave her an idea.

Huffing, she began to jog back down the slope and into town, dodging or shoving aside the paniced civilians as they got in her way. Her gaze was focused on one thing, a makeshift radio tower that stood on a manmade structer, no doubt for communication among the Minute Men. It seems there were non around it, all busy fighting against the Brotherhood, and she casually walked inside, spotting a lone terminal on a desk. Shutting the door behind her, she took a seat and began to type, setting a new frequency to the antenna.

Raz got out of his power armor and walked out of the red rocket building with his rifle hanging by the trigger from his index and middle finger, "Don't shoot! I'm not with the BOS! Okay? I'm sorry for shooting at you, but it was a misunderstanding to who you all were...", Raz slowly pulled out a tattered business card and held it up in his opposite hand, "...and if you are wondering who I am, this card here will explain just who I am.", Raz then slowly bended down and put his weapon on the ground, "Easy now..."

After reloading her rifle, the Sergal Ranger began to stalk down the streets. Her rifle slung over her shoulder. As she wandered around looking among the bodies of civilians for her comrade. She was actually piqued when she noticed how few of the Minitue Men were actually among them, and even more surprised to see that she was already halfway through town and she still haven't found Ray's body.

But eventually, she did come across the Red Rocket station. Which had a group of militia set up behind cover with their rifles drawn, and a BOS member who appeared to be surrendered. The sergal even quirked her brow when the man had the gaul to say 'Sorry for shooting you'. That... alone would give any man reason to kill the dolt. She continued to walk past the Minute Men, towards the Red Rocket, and gave the surrendering man a wide birth. Her hand was on her revolver, giving him clear indication that she wouldn't be an easy hostage.

After entering the building, she roamed about for a second till she noticed the flipped over table. She slowly craned her head just a bit to peer over it.

"Ray? Come o out. It's over."

Ray, after a few moments, registered what Reeva said, and stood up slowly. He looked around, and after a few moments looked to Reeva. "W-What happened? T-That seemed to get o-out of hand." The young raccoon smiled weakly, still in shock.

The Minutemen slowly approached Raz, rifles at the ready. A couple of Minutemen put a few more charges into their laser-muskets' capacitor, just to be safe. "If it was a misunderstanding, sir, why did you open fire?"

Damn Ted thought, he had hoped they would fight for abit longer.

He bundled the foodstuff he had stolen from the empty house, which didn't amount too much, into his bag.

He made his way out the back along the edge of town and started back home, things getting abit too shooty for his tastes.

“The Brotherhood of Steel just played a very dangerous game. They attacked the Castle, a stupid decision that would have costed them severely to try and take,” She grunted as she now began to walk to the door. She paused for a second before making herself seen at the exit. “A brotherhood member just happened to be inside Sanctuary, a Minute Men stronghold.”

She turned her head, and yelled out so the men outside could hear her. “Sergal Woman who  just entered! Ex-NCR Ranger, I’m coming out with another!”

Vex stepped from the comms tower, a wide grin on her face underneath her bandana. She took a moment to look amongst the town, all the people here who were scared, on edge. Hopeless. If they thought the Brotherhood of Steel was a threat than they would be hottified about what was coming. The vixen took a deep breath and let out a laugh, walking down the street and out of Sanctuary, stopping breifly at the scene at the gast station before continuing onward. She had to prepare for the Legions arrival.

The Minutemen, after a few minutes of contemplation, made a decision. A few approached, taking cuffs and chains with them. The captors approached Raz, slowly and cautiously. "We're taking you to our Intel Recovery Office, so we can learn what EXACTLY went down. And, before you ask, yes, it's a formality."

Ray followed Reeva closely, very concerned with what happened. "B-But..." The young raccoon leaned closer to Reeva, and whispered, "I sell the Brotherhood my research. W-What should I do now?"  He looked very concerned, and even more so when he remembered that he lost his field book. "I-I'm scared. D-Don't tell anyone I'm affiliated with them, please?"

Finally having a connection she spoke through "this is Paladin Zaida, at the Boston police station anyone there?" She asked waiting for a reply "What the hell happened? Last I recall that wasn't the plan?..." The Vexū huffed through the radio to the BOS. No response, she huffed. "Dammit" she hissed "I almost lost my life, and we lost a vertibird.." walking out of the building she looked up in the sky listening for anyone near, so far clear. The Vexū needed to heal, repair her armor, eat and drink.

The radio in the Police Station crackled to life. "Paladin Zaida, this is Elder Maxson. You need to regroup at the Prydwen. We're going to wait and clear this mess up. Repeat, Paladin Zaida, return to the Prydwen as soon as possible."

The Minutemen nodded, but still kept their guns trained on Razuel. They started moving him towards the Office, much more gentle than before. A few left the group to reclaim Razuel's armor and weapons.

Two minutemen were carrying away another, obviously dead (due to a lack of brainmatter), minuteman. Another walking Raz to the Office spoke up. "He did. Poor guy." She shrugged, and continued walking.

Ray gulped, and got very close to Reeva, afraid he'd be found out by somebody. It wasn't that he'd been helping the Brotherhood, but he was afraid of what they would do to him if they found out. The screems he's heard from the Intelligence Recovery Office were...unpleasant to say the least. Before they passed, or left (Ray couldn't remember), the General had appointed Strong, a semi-friendly Supermutant, as Intel Collection Officer and he chose some stronger looking Minutemen to help with actually recovering the information.

Lenna was in the medical building working tirelessly to give medical attention to those who needed it. She hated fighting and was a strict pacifist because of it so all these injured and dying minute men was a horrible sight to her. She had the help of several other trained doctors and directed them to who needed them most, while some others drag away the dead.
"I can't believe the Brotherhood would attack us like this." Lenna muttered as she was tending to a Cat who was shot in the gut by sniper bullet.
"A-am I...am I g-going to die?" The cat asked as Lenna administered a Stimpack and some med-x to ease the pain.
"Don't worry the bullet missed anything important. I promise you will live." She said putting the cat under.

To think just earlier today she was helping the elderly do yoga. Funny how things can escalate so quickly.

Reeva bent down and picked up the dead minute man's rifle. She took a moment to inspect it before handing it off to Ray. "Well... the bounty hunter inside of me tells me that there might be some sort of manhunt going on for that BOS member." She hummed waiting for the rifle to leave her hand. "As long as you don't mention any buisiness that you had with them, you'll be fine." She said as she started making her way down the road. If her predictions are correct, that woman is likely staying off of the road to avoid detection. That'd mean Reeva could easily catch up to her if she started now.

"You're welcome to follow me if you want. But if not, try not to look so nervous. It'll get you killed one day."

Ray took the rifle, gingerly. He didn't have any fusion cells to power the beast, so he set about scrounging some off of nearby corpses, talking to Reeva as he went. "So...We're gonna try and catch a Paladin? Just the two of us? I don't see THAT going well."

Strong was seated outside the office, sharpening a vicious-looking bumper sword. He didn't notice the minutemen approaching, and the minutemen didn't want to interrupt Strong's work.

The sounds of quite a few mole rats could be heard approaching Ray and Reeva...accompanied by the sounds of Lenna begging them to stop. Lenna was effectively being dragged by four mole rats on leashes that charging there way straight towards Ray.
"Ow! Please Tipsy...Ow please stop! Ow! I'll give you double feeding...Eek!" Lenna cried as she dragged across the rocks and rough ground till finally being flung into a pile of tires nearby when the mole rats finally stopped. All four mole rats circled Reeva and Ray sniffing them intently but noticeably not hostile. In fact when they were they tagged there tails happily at the two of you.

Lenna simply got her butt stuck in a tire.

Vex would continue past the gas station, and even scoff as she saw the woman from earlier get dragged by her pathetic "pets". "These wastes of life will be quickly wiped when the Legion comes through. These... these /profligates/ will know true fear." She mumbled to herself. The Legionary simply stared at the scene in disgust before moving onward, pulling out her map and looking it over. Her eyes scanned over it, seeing another location that peaked her interest. "A national guard station? Maybe this ine will be free of lesser factions."

Ray, as soon as they were surrounded, charged the laser-musket, and watched the molerats. "B-Back off!  I've nearly lost fingers to you types!" He had no intention of firing, but was afraid none the less.

As they passed, Strong stood and followed the group into a large shack. The minutemen set Raz down on a metal folding chair, Strong moved to the corner of the room, and a Minuteman stood in front of Raz, a table between them. After a few minutes, the minuteman spoke. "So...what happened?"

Reeva would glance off to the sound with a raised brow, and soon spotted the molerats rushing to their position. She also saw their owners being drug by the leash and sighed softly to herself. If ray raised his rifle, she'd move her hand onto his arms and push it down, signaling not to attack. "As I said, your choice if you want to follow me or not." She then looked the woman up and down with an appraising look.

Her lips pursed a bit, before she sighed. "Hun... I don't think it's wise if you go after her." She said. Though honestly... it probably was best if NEITHER of them came with her. One was a terrible liability, and the only reason she's letting him near herself is that he seems to not have any other place to be. As for the lady.... yeah she can barely control her own animals... nor did she look armed.

She shook her head quietly, and began to stroll on by. Just as she was out of range of the Sanctuary's defences she let out a shrill whistle. The ground rumbled, and soon her Scorpion companion emerged by her side. It chittered as it followed at her side.
