Title: Any Victoria, Australia Wolves? :3
Post by: jazziiwooff on February 12, 2011, 06:54:09 AM
I know there's a Australian thread but this is sorta different because I wanna know if there's any wolves in Victoria ;3
Basically because me and my friend are both wolves and we want to make a pack, but we don't know any other wolves from Victoria/Melbourne.
Mods feel free to remove this if need be, but it's kinda a different topic to the general Australian thread.
So yeah, anyone? :3

Title: Re: Australia
Post by: anoni on April 01, 2012, 04:41:42 AM
I'm not around tasmania but I've been to hobart and Caravan'd across Tassy

I think it was generally a nice place, kind of reminded me of New Zealand a bit, also it was quite cold and it ACTUALLY SNOWS there. That's so cool XD
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Shadowscales on April 01, 2012, 11:00:33 AM
Snowing isn't normal here =P
Only on the mountains during winter and possibly autumn!
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: anoni on April 01, 2012, 11:23:52 AM
Well we went to the mountains where it snowed.

Ah, I love the snow! So good, Can't get enough of it! I went to America 3 months ago and went to the grand canyon and it snowed so much! Me, my brother, my brothers friend and his wife were playing in the snow for like... 12 hours straight XD
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Kyriin on April 01, 2012, 11:52:57 AM
OH MY GOD. ACTIVITY IN THIS THREAD?

I'm one of the fortunate ones who live not in a crappy or boring city. ;) Tasmania is indeed a nice place too, the snow on Mt. Wellington was great~ I'd so go back there.
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: DarkWolf on April 01, 2012, 12:37:39 PM
i wish i could see it snow... i saw it snow once when i was like 2 and have absolutely no memory of it and have only been to the snow 3 times and because we live in australia its actually warm at the snow during the day so all the snow melts then freezes and its all like an old slushy. its either all melted slush or rock solid ice and the trees there are gumtrees.. after looking at snow in movies and everything seeing a field of gumtrees covered in snow screws with your head
Title: Re: Australia

Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Shadowscales on April 02, 2012, 07:09:27 AM
I might see if I can move into an apartment around where some of you fellow furs are, in some part of the mainland
(the more furs in the city, the better).

I'll probably do this after college (in 3 years including this one.) though, unless my parents are o.k with me going to college in the mainland =P.
I'll post somewhere in this forum when I do, I'm 15, if it matters.
Probably will share an apartment with someone if possible.

Tasmania has barely any furs, and most people are homophobic and that leads to bad results, considering the bad stereotypes for furs...
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Kyriin on April 02, 2012, 07:22:04 AM
Brisbane has a lot of furs and meets and stuff, you're bound to have luck around north side. Meets are regular in the city and Chermside if that helps. Then there's always surrounding areas and the Gold Coast with more furs, too. Melbourne is pretty populated too afaik, which would be closer for you, but I dunno the deal with what furries are like around there and where most of the action is but you're bound to have luck there too.
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: anoni on April 03, 2012, 10:32:27 AM
There's a furry convention in brisbane and there's also one in the gold coast.

Thinking about one day going to the latter XD

I went to new zealand.
The playground laws are much more relaxed over there, there was a massive flying fox that was like... 4 stories high it was awesome!

There's also a hell lot of sheep there.

Even though there's more sheep per person in Australia than new Zealand, and even though Australia has more people (so thus more sheep) You still find SO MUCH SHEEP EVERYWHERE in new Zealand.

I just thought I'd post some helpful links for furries in Australia

Furstralia: http://furstralia.com/home/ (http://furstralia.com/home/)
Local Australian furry website covering all of Australia, very similar to TFF but only Australian based

AusFurs: http://www.facebook.com/groups/273255629362114/?ref=ts&fref=ts (http://www.facebook.com/groups/273255629362114/?ref=ts&fref=ts)
Open facebook group for furries around Australia, this is a really good resource to meet friends from Australia

NSWfurs: http://www.facebook.com/groups/128932107170371/?ref=ts&fref=ts (http://www.facebook.com/groups/128932107170371/?ref=ts&fref=ts)
Facebook group for furries within NSW, this is an extremely good resource if you're a NSWFur, there is a biweekly furmeet as well, you can ask about that on the facebook group.

That's just three helpful sites you can use. Also FurDU is this week, so if you live around surfer's paradise or in the goldcoast you should definitely check that out!

Wow, a hare!  I've never met a hare before.

I live down the south end of Tassie.  Below Sorell where the bad bushfire were  :(

Which end do you play in?

It's nice to meet another girl!  Though all the boys HAVE been very friendly  ;)

Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Trixsie Vixen on December 04, 2013, 10:04:05 AM
Yeah you said it $$$ @.@

I'd like to make something super-fantastic, but using a small partial snout mask with ears and facepaint rather than a full mask.

Still, I'm only just working out what I want from my furriness, so plenty of other stuff to do.

It's nice just to have a place for my writing and art and RP.

Just need to put one paw in front of another for the moment!
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Tabbitha Minx on December 05, 2013, 12:36:40 AM
Unless I can install air-conditioning in the suit, I'm going minimal fur and maximum make up XD
*Goes stalking to find your art*
And that's the way :) I'm just relaxing before university starts again O.O
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Maine on December 05, 2013, 07:03:14 AM
Yeah, I think I'll stick to a tail and some ears. XD

I think the weight of the air conditioning gear would cancel out it's purpose. <w<
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Trixsie Vixen on December 05, 2013, 07:47:06 AM
Yeah, air-con  XP  What am I RoboFox?

Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Tabbitha Minx on December 05, 2013, 12:04:01 PM
I'm trying to work out a pattern for a curved tail, which is kinda difficult when trying to keep the fur going in the right direction.. >.<
I made my own ears, so if you want a pattern  I can throw one at you :)
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Trixsie Vixen on December 05, 2013, 12:23:14 PM
Awesome!  Please pm me the pattern.  No hurry though, SO much mundane to achieve *frumph-wine*

Nearly finished a new drawing... is that procrastination or drive  :S

Why is it so late?  People will understand if I want to play piano right?

Stoopid people!!

I bet furs would get it  B)
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: DragonThing on December 05, 2013, 01:02:46 PM
Shattered >.< I'm right across the pond from you guys. Sure I'm much more scaley than furry but eh, details.

The big bulky fursuits are kinda overrated imo, they seem incredibly impractical. I mean a lot of people love them and each to their own but I'll also be settling for a tail....some wings would be nice too XD but let's not get ahead of ourselves...
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Trixsie Vixen on December 05, 2013, 02:25:01 PM
I like to think dragons have fur in their ears BAM!  Furry!

Wings would be sweet.  But the logistics...

So Victoria Dragon_Slave?

I love your entry for Pet/Owner.  XD

Title: Re: Australia
Post by: DragonThing on December 06, 2013, 01:05:34 AM
Yup I'm Victoria :P my gf thinks she can organize a pair of wings but I'm still pretty skeptical. And yeah she can be my owner too. If the name wasn't a total giveaway I'm a massive sub ^.^ so she gets to be both my mate and my owner
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Trixsie Vixen on December 06, 2013, 01:10:13 AM
I'm still pretty new, I'm quite in the dark about owners and pets.  I have both elements so the future is a mystery!
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Tabbitha Minx on December 06, 2013, 01:15:24 AM
*cough* roll swapsies!

Owners and pets aren't necessary, nor do you have to be in a romantic relationship with them.. I think.?
It's just if your relationship with them feels that way :)
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: DragonThing on December 06, 2013, 03:37:11 AM
Of course owners and pets aren't necessary ^^ I just happen to be inclined towards that kind of stuff. So don't feel obliged to get one :P
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Trixsie Vixen on December 07, 2013, 03:34:01 AM
That Oatmeal article is very informative.  I learned a healthy respect for cats from reading Footrot Flats.

I'm not especially seeking a owner/pet thing.  I can understand it evolving from a natural tendency in the relationship, but if someone is new to the fandom and think Oh, quick, buy a collar and find a dom!  Then it invites abuse.  I think I could be a good owner because I would take the responsibility very seriously.  Since I'm currently looking for a break from responsibility I'm not currently accepting applications  XD

Still good luck to you Dragon_Slave, I know full well that problems can come from NOT asking for what one wants, so horses for courses.

Um, no offence to any Horse furs?!
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: DragonThing on December 08, 2013, 09:22:43 AM
All good, I'm pretty lucky cause the girl I've been with for a long time eventually became my dom, we're pretty lucky to be as close as we are :D I know sub/dom relationships aren't always smooth but I think it's best when coupled with a normal relationship. At least, as normal as we get XD
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Tabbitha Minx on December 08, 2013, 10:05:59 AM
Sub/Dom has been proven to increase feelings of trust and safety, and improve communication both verbal and non-verbal in long-term relationships. True fact, don't ask me to find the study, I really don't remember where I dug it up from n_n
My mate actually has split personality, so I've gotten pretty used to switching role depending on "who" is with me at the time.. But the Owner/Pet thing is a little different to dominate/submissive I've found.. I'm more than happy to feed him and rub his belly sometimes, but at the same time not want to "lead him by the collar" so to speak :P

Are we getting off-topic? O.o
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Trixsie Vixen on December 08, 2013, 10:20:38 AM
HA!  There is no off topic in Australia.  Outlaws and rebels!

Title: Re: Australia
Post by: DragonThing on December 08, 2013, 02:58:11 PM
I'm not complaining about being off topic :D it's fun!
And I agree with both the unnamed study, I study psychology and while we didn't study fetishes in detail I read through that part of a text book out of curiosity, it's pretty healthy ^^. My lady mostly enjoys leading me by the collar (which I'm very attached too XD), through the city in public, a lot of people stare but it's tones of fun XD Not sure if I'd bother with the feeding thing myself but I know we both love a good stratch behind the ears.

God don't get me started on our politics.

I've been there a few times to visit my cousin, but not since I was nine. This time I'm headed up to visit the mate, who's been studying up there since the start of the year. Gonna be the first time I've gone up to see him.

1. Don't even drink, let alone smoke marijuana
2. Never seen fireworks O.o
3. I don't see the attraction...
XD oh this'll be fun :p

Post by: Tabbitha Minx on December 09, 2013, 10:05:30 PM
Hehehe :3 I'm really not the judgemental type, promise :P

And yeah, it's been so horrid getting used to him living in a different state, as he was my neighbour  when our relationship first started.. Sorta.. I was living.in a bed-sit built at the end of his yard :P  but we'd admitted we liked each other months before I moved in, it was more kinda lucky for  me that his parents had a rental open up just as I had to leave home. >.<
But going from eating dinner together and staying up late talking every night to, "oh look you're in another state and I can only TOUCH you once every three months O.O" is HARD >.<

Part of my family are kiwis, that is all. Though I envy your dances and raves, Australia. Also, we want the Melbourne shuffle back since you pinched it from our Leeroy Thornhill and NS dancers. I have my suspicions it was furries and otakus that popularised that dance before LMFAO took it up, actually.

How'd the clean up from those storms go? I saw them on the news - they looked nasty
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: guest22811 on June 26, 2016, 11:22:55 PM
The storms were kinda exaggerated by the news imo. It wasn't that bad unless you were in the northen area of Sydney. I was in the middle-ish and it just felt like a typical rainy day.
Last year was horrible though. I was still living in my old house and the entire backyard flooded. There was literally a lake in our backyard. Not kidding.
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: Ibi Tanvaal on June 26, 2016, 11:25:07 PM
The way my back/side yard is done, a lake always shows up when it rains.
One year there were hailstorms so bad we had to clear out the whole back yard by sweeping the water and hailstones out.

Post by: guest22811 on June 26, 2016, 11:36:59 PM
Oh my gawd LMAO
Yeah I heard that there was hail up north. Apparently in my school it hailed so much that it looked like it was snowing.

What's the weather in Sydney?
Title: Re: Australia
Post by: guest22811 on June 27, 2016, 01:47:16 AM

No extreme downpours, no tornadoes or crazy shiz like that, but the weather still occasionally goes a bit over the top. However, when it's hot, you can probably get 2 degree burns if you stay out on the sun without sunscreen for too long.

Yeah.
Overall it's ok

Have any of you guys heard of FurJam? ( I think thats what it's called )

Its in Sydney and extremely close to my place in Wolli Creek.

Don't know the date though.

Even though it's really close, I'm not old enough to attend/need parental supervision.
My parents aren't very keen on furries and I don't think they want to take me to a 'Convention where people dress up as scary animals' if you know what I mean. But haha, I understand

Title: Sydney/NSW Furs!!!
Post by: Khaise Grey on March 21, 2017, 08:37:31 AM
Hey everyone, :)

Just a bit about myself briefly, my name is Izzy/Hamish (I am biologically female), I'm 16, I'm a weekly boarder at an all girls school outside of Sydney and I live in the Eastern Sydney area when I'm not at school.

So I've been trolling around the internet for a while and I want to know what conventions and meet ups are there around NSW, preferably Sydney. I cant really seem to find any official conventions (I'm probably just an idiot and haven't found any) and most of the meets i have found are in Canberra which is a bit far for me.

So has anyone got any information for me?

Thanks a bunch!  ^_^

HEY HEY HEYHYEHE OH MY GOD
FINALLY A SYDNEY FURRY :-0--000000
I am in Sydney too!!
In the Kogarah area if you know it (T4 eastern suburbs/blue line on subways)

There are two furry conventions in Sydney:
1) Furcon (In sydney HCFC.) It doesn't allow minors though, since I'm 14 and I would really like to suit so I won't be going.
2) FurJAM, an annual furry meetup near Wolli Creek (very close to my place :DDD) It happens every late October/September in the holidayssss

Oh my god I am  so glad that I am not alone.

About me, I'm Leah/Euphoria and I'm female too! 14 here, I attend a public school in the northern part of Sydney.

Hey Sydney furs (and furs around the Sydney area), there is some useful information you might want to know!

Sydney has a vibrant fur community, in fact we meet every first and third Thursday of the month for Coffee meet. Coffee meet happens every first and third thursday of the month at 6pm and takes place in the Lindt Chocolate Cafe in Darling Harbour. We usually move to the foodcourt in the darling harbour shopping center at around 7:30-8:30 pm. We then go to a bar for the rest of the night! If you need any details don't hesitate to message me, you can do so here on my telegram (@BIeese, that's a capital "I" not a lowecase "L" (just to troll people)).

We have a facebook group, it's a great way to get introduced into the community, the facebook groups is here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/NSWFurs/ (https://www.facebook.com/groups/NSWFurs/) Just join and they'll be sure to let you in! We have big bbq meets every month or so, our biggest one is Mid-May Meet which happens (as the name suggests) in the middle of May, be sure to make it!

We also have a NSW furs telegram group, we have no link to it but you can ask to join. Simply message @Tallow, @ScribbleDragon or @KaiAiden, these are just some of the Admins of the telegram group. Tell them you were sent there by me (Anoni) and they'll know who you're talking about and should let you in (they may message me to confirm though).

We also have a fur con, but this is just recent! The new Sydney furry con will be opening for it's first ever year! It is called "Harbour City Fur Con", you can find information about it (and rego) here: https://furcon.com.au/hcfc/ (https://furcon.com.au/hcfc/)

If you ever attend any of the meets, I'm usually there (I'll probably be at the coffee meet at least!) and you'll notice me by my red hair. Feel free to say hi and say you're from TFF!

OH MY SHISH KEBABS, THIS IS A THINg??? :0000
Dang!

Only problem is that my parents would be weirded out that I'm going outside to have a meet at 6 pm in the Lindt Cafe (Even though I'm sooo close!) so it's not possible for me. Also got school on that day, which means homework. I would definitely come if I could though.

As for the Mid-May beet, that sounds great! I may come and check it out lmao.

HCFC doesn't allow minors :P I completely understand though and I won't be attending.

I should have mentioned there's also FurJam, this even is for all ages and occurs around September I believe. the event is the largest meet in Sydney, expect hundreds of furs from all around the country to be there for a 3 day event filled fluffy extravaganza. The main event is the Saturday BBQ which is open to all ages and only has a $5 fee (for sausages, and stuff!)

If you need any details don't hesitate to message me, you can do so here on my telegram (@BIeese, that's a capital "I" not a lowecase "L" (just to troll people)).
....
We have big bbq meets every month or so, our biggest one is Mid-May Meet which happens (as the name suggests) in the middle of May, be sure to make it!
....
If you ever attend any of the meets, I'm usually there (I'll probably be at the coffee meet at least!) and you'll notice me by my red hair. Feel free to say hi and say you're from TFF!

Oh no, I can't attend these as of now due to living on the South Coast.  D:
It's a 3+ hour train ride for me to get to Darling Harbour and I'm still a student who finishes at 3:15pm.

Starting next year, I'll be attending university in Wollongong (1hr 1/2 train ride and a light rail to DH) and will be able to attend some of the meets, depending on my workload for that week.

Hey, I should even be able to get up there, maybe, sometime late this year after my HSCs. I've joined the FB group and will keep the meetups in mind!  ^_^

OH MY GOD! Yaaaasssss! I have the holidays coming up so I may be able to come. How old do you have to be though?

That was an April fools :P

For Coffee any age (probably older than 13 though), however you won't be able to come to the bar event if you're a minor (obviously)
For FurJam the saturday BBQ is any age, the friday night and saturday night events are usually 18+, Sunday is sorta "pick your own event" so if you join an age appropriate one you can attend.
HCFC is 18+

I'm Noosa direction, a little of a pain to travel to brissie but recently moved from Melbourne and I'm loving the weather so much more here! Pretty much beach day all day everyday, got so sick of Melbournes 4 seasons in one day and the dreaded winter days.

Hey guys, so I made a little badge/logo type thing for us Auzzy Furries. Feel free to put it in your signature, you don't have to credit me if you use it. Its just a symbol of us!

BB code: [ img]http://i.imgur.com/uK58BlY.png[/img ]

(when using, remove the spaces between the start and end brackets)
I'm not sure if the BB code works so stand by.

Thanks Khaise, and hell yeh I'm chucking this on my signature!
And yeh the bb code works perfectly 😁 But how do I make the image entered so it lines up with rest of my signature?
Nicely done mate 👌

Curse the lack of Melbourne furs... The only convention I can afford to go to is ConFurgence, which just so happens to be 2 days after my 21st next year.
As for meets, well I'm far too awkward to go to any without a fursuit ._.

I'm a fur from Melbourne. ^^ Well, technically a babyfur, but I've been a furry for most of my life.
