I'm new around here. Almost 21 years old and in Kansas. Ive been a furry for some years now but have finally got the courage to meet and chat with others if I can. Mostly have just browsed art but ive gotten really into it the past couple years and would like to expand socially and other activities. I'm not an introvert, quite outgoing really but I'm just real shy around furry stuff. Not an artist at all but I have got a fursona in my head. A red fox, yeah really original but I do have some hopefully original details in mind. Any help to get me on my feet around the community would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forums!
At first, the fandom might seem so oppressive in some ways. Many new terms, many new people, new places, new possibilities, new trolls to deal with etc. But after a few months til a year you will adapt to it. Just see the positive side of this all, even if it might be difficult by times. Make small steps, be aware of art theft and try to find your place around in that community. If you ever should have questions about that, feel free to message me. I am a furry for over 10 years now.

Heeeyyy JD, glad to have you here, I hope you're doing well! I didn't mind Kansas all that much when I drove through it, I just worried about the clouds >.>. Foxes are cool characters, so you shouldn't feel "unoriginal" about having one, the originality of a character choice is that it feels like it pairs with you as you are the only person that makes any choice original ^_^.
