Motorsports Furs Out There?
« on: May 13, 2018, 03:17:29 AM »
I always love a good discussion about anything motorsports related, either it be motorcycles, cars, boats or...anything that has power, and is a blast!

What kind of car do you have/enjoy? What types of racing do you enjoy? Do you have experience on tracks?

I would love to hear from you all!

As for me, I am very into Drifting, and Grip. Some days I go to the mountains and drive around.
Cars owned are an Evo X, an AE86.
Bikes owned are YZ250, GSX1300R (1340cc)

I find the subject interesting, but dangerous, so I don't have any bikes, but I do drive a 2014 Nissan Murano Model S AWD!

Have been for as long as I can remember and I’ll watch everything but don’t follow NASCAR, Drifting, or F1. Touring car, World Challenge, WEC, WRC, and LeMons Prototypes are my go-to but the WRC is hands down my favorite. Was fortunate enough to attend the 2006 WRC stop in Mexico, hands down the highlight of my motorsports ‘career’. I worked with a Spec RX7 driver for several years as crew chief, have done autocross and a few HPDE road course events as well. The dream is to be a co-driver for stage rallies but, unfortunately, that sort of racing isn’t popular in Texas.

Cars owned include two Rx7s, a 52 Willys M38, and I daily a C6 Z06. I’ve had but sold a 99 PEP Miata and an 04 Mazdaspeed Miata, Mazda runs through my blood lol.

Currently, I drive a 1989 Chevy Sliverado with an LS2 swap. I want to get a Subaru WRX STI or Forester. I like F1 racing and Nascar.

Being young (16, 17 on the 24th/tomorrow), I don't race, but i do have a 230 CRF 2005? model of dirtbike, but want to upgrade soon.

I follow most racing, but prefer MX as it's fun. But a lot of the others are cool as well  ^_^

Dream cars (I don't own any right now  :'( ):

MX-5
WRX STI
Ariel Nomad/Atom (They are fun, trust me, I've seen them go)
McLaren P1 GTR ($3 million put to waste/use, depending on your view)
Or just give me a Nissan S15, I'll mod that till I'm broke  XD

Never too young to get started, with money spent on proper safety gear(which I hope you’re already wearing) motocross is cheap to get into. Not sure where you’re located but there are several tracks that off open practice days for around 20 bucks. Ours are located in conjunction with ATV parks so there is also trail riding available.

Miatas are great cars, I’ve had two; a 99 PEP and an 04 Mazdaspeed Miata. They’re good first cars are they’re incredibly simple, easy to maintain, and slow lol! Learning to drive a slow car fast is much more satisfying than driving a fast car slow, if my miatas got squirmy it was easy to recover and carry on. In my Z06 it’s much more work should I get out of shape and the window to recover is much smaller. If the Atom piques your interest you should check out the Miata based Exocet kits, they’re a homebuild tube chassis car that uses all of the running gear and powertrain of the Miata, a friend of mine has one and it’s a hoot.

Since you like the P1 GTR I though i’d attach a few pics of the Nürburgring record holding P1LM I saw at Goodwood last year. :)

Cheers!
AJ
