Need advice on attending a convention.

So... I am planning to attend Califur 2014... and I have no clue what to bring and what to expect at all... ( I never been to any convention before in my life).

I need some advice about going to convention.

[/size]Fur Suit - still making my own fur suit concept at this point
[/size]
[/size]Ticket reservation/ confirmation code(printout) - I  am still not sure if I can go on first day yet. ( still have not purchased ticket yet)

[/size]Hotel reservation- need place to stay/sleep
[/size]
[/size]Money- lol
[/size]
[/size]Transportation- I do have a car...
[/size]
[/size]Camera/video camera- I have none and need some recommendation (go pro/sony/etc) [my current cellphone is very old so taking picture is out of the question)

[/size]     Do people just take picture with their smartphone  and use go pro to take video?
