Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen
« on: June 24, 2009, 08:21:53 PM »
Baaaaw. I liked it so much. Unlike the first movie, it was more focused on the actual robots and ect. rather than the humans, though I will admit, it still has it's flaws. Like they tried a little too hard to make sex jokes and to sex up Megan Fox's character to the point where it annoyed me. Also. Mudflap and Skids. D:

One thing that got me in particular is that they didn't exactly develop the decepticons like I thought they would.. Seriously.. They were no name cannon fodder for the most part. And it made me angry because there are so many awesome decepticons they could have introduced and developed on like they have with the autobots. I looked like an idiot running into the midnight showing with a decepticon ball cap and a "Megaton for President" shirt. They make the decepticons a lot less awesome than they are, in my opinion.

It's still good, mind you.. I just wish that they'd put as much effort into the decpticons as they did the autobots.

NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

HOW CAN THE LARGEST TRANSFORMERS FAN ON THE SITE BE OUTDONE?!?!

AARRRRRRACGIFU893[4OP[HE94-N9TJ4G[PKD35G

A bit more on topic though, One thing which a lot of fans, including myself, wanted, and got, was more Optimus Prime kicking butt. At one point he beats the crap out of three decepticons at once. Definitely very awesome. Though, really, even I could have said what my reaction to the movie would be even before I saw it.

I will say that I did like that about it. They did focus on Optimus, and I really liked that much of it... But I was pretty disappointed with the decepticon development. I was also disappointed with Mudflap and Skids.

Ugh, yes, Jar Jar Bots as a friend of mine put it. Entirely catering to the little children, and you can't blame them for that. And then there's some stupid drivel about them being racial stereotypes or something stupid like that.

I just watched it today and honestly i think it's about as good as the first movie but only in its balance.

The action was ramped up (Optimus Prime fight was fantastic!) and that's what was so great about the first one.

But with that, the flaws were ramped up as well. The first film has that girl who's really only there as the love interest and damsel in distress. This film has almost all the women being just mindless eye-candy who's whole existence seems to gravitate around sex.

Not to mention the fact that pretty much all the weak or "zany" side characters were all ethnic minorities, some of which were out right stereotypes. Frankly I was insulted by it.

Also there's the constant juvenile sex jokes.

But saying that, story and character isnt the main draw of these films. It's not the reason for these films. It's all about big fights with autobots and decepticons, and they delivered that magnificently.

So really, despite everything, the film is a success
"Parents always think kids are wasting their youth, and always have done [so] down through the millennia," says Tom Forsyth of RAD Game Tools. "'That Ug, always holding things. His front paws will develop in funny ways. Why can't he walk on all fours like normal proto-hominids?' And so, whatever the kids spend the most time doing, that's always what parents think is a waste of time, and what is corrupting their lives. It doesn't matter what that is. If all they did was homework, parents would be worrying that their kids aren't becoming well-rounded people. And, in fact, parents do this - enrolling math nerds in karate classes and the like. There is no way to win - parental paranoia ensures that kids are always doing the wrong thing."

Would anyone recommend seeing the sequel if I didn't really like the first one all that much?

I wouldnt. It's really aimed at people who liked the first.

Personally, I would if you really like Transformers.. I mean, unlike the first movie, they really centered it as they should have to begin with on Optimus. The developed the autobots pretty well with the exception of Mudflap, Skids, and RC.

I just saw it last night, I loved it. Could have done with out all the retarded little teenage boys around. And that one girl who laughs so loud at like everything. But the movie I really enjoyed!  :D

Transformers is the epitome of a Michael Bay, summer blockbuster. Chocked full of the best CG and fight scenes I've seen in my life, on the flipside, though, as to be expected, is weak on plot, romance and basically anything other giant robots beating the crud out of each other.

Finally! People who actually liked the movie! Everyone I've talked to has done nothing but complain and say that the first was better. It made me mad when they were saying that the movie was too long. I don't see the big deal with that, Batman: The Dark Knight was too long in my opinion, but you don't see people whining about that.

Ugh, anyway lol. I did really like the movie, Optimus kicked so much butt the fight where he brought out two swords sent a chill down my back hehe. The main thing I like more about the second is that the autobots were tougher. In the first movie the autobots lost pretty much every fight.

FYI: The voiceactor who did Skids, Mudflaps, and RC is the same guy who does the voice of Spongebob.
