Title: The Foundation (SCP-based RP)
Post by: SadDubwool on March 31, 2019, 07:35:02 AM
I'm back. And here to make an RP that can, hopefully, reach more people. This RP is fairly simple in the fact that it's based on and around the lore of the SCP universe (with some minor adjustments in interactions with groups of interest) this RP is set in the classic Site 19 after a breach which took a sizeable chunk out of the personnel at the facility. Multiple exchanges have been made and the site is slowly but surely gaining back what it lost.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCP_Foundation
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lore-wise Site 19 is recovering from the aftermath of a disastrous containment breach involving SCP-682 which has subsequently been transported to [DATA EXPUNGED] for temporary containment. A large amount of valuable foundation personnel were killed during this breach and measures are being made in the restaffing and retooling of the facility. An anonymous O5 council member has assumed immediate control and is stressing the immediate restaffing of site 19 due to the fact that damage to the facility itself hasn't been properly documented. As of now site 19 has been delivered a new wave of D Class, Security and Scientific personnel have achieved the minimum requirements for continued operation. Containment procedures and testing have, as of now, also been resumed and are being run side by side with judging the extent to which the facility was damaged during the breach. New Faculty and staff will grow exponentially so site 19 should be prepared for said inffflux whilst carrying out regular procedures.

<End Briefing>
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rules:
1. Ask permission to play as an anomalous faculty member or an SCP.
2. No killing of other players unless both parties agree
3. Do not use overly powerful characters. You usually won't be any form of supernatural unless permission is gained
4. No arguing OOC please.
5. No direct killing of NPC staff (Security/Science)* or outright harassment of NPC D-class.
6. No explicit romantic relationships (please take the kinky stuff to the messages)
7. Have Fun!

*If containment breaches occur these rules are heavily relaxed on both sides. I'll usually let you go nuts on NPC's unless they are of story importance.

Name: Dr. Adrian Zarkevich
Age:47
Species:Grey Wolf
Class:Scientist
Bio: Dr. Zarkevich is one of the few still-active known members (He testifies that there are still a sizeable amount working underneath the Russian government, which previously denied involvement with GRU-P and stressed the unavoidable dissolution it faced when the entirety of GRU was decommissioned) of the Fourth Department Abnormal Occurrences Commission (GRU-P). His experience in the containment of anomalous entities is best described as adept as he oversaw the containment and transport of [DATA EXPUNGED] during the dissolution of the U.S.S.R.. Although he denies any accusations  of potentially being a whistleblower caution  and vigilance should be exercised around him until we can accurately judge his intentions.

Name: Elijah "Red" Amaskewatch
Age:39
Species: Rabbit
Class: Security Officer
Bio: Originally from [REDACTED] Alaska, Elijah has been dispatched by [DATA EXPUNGED] to oversee the site security and efficiently command it in the event of another serious breach. His experience has been gained from his activity on other sites like [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]. Proving to be a valuable asset in situation like containment breaches Elijah has been ordered to refrain from shooting D-class unless absolutely necessary. Said order will be in affect until the facility reaches acceptable levels.

Name: Eleva Mirnon
Age: 25
Species: Panther
Class: Scientist
Bio: Many years after the shut-down of Prometheus Labs and the recovery of MTF-Tau 5 ("Samsara"), Tau 5 has proved itself to be more useful than ever imagined, with one flaw. Damaged in the rescue, these gods among men are incapable of human emotions and feelings. Now, the Foundation is ready to add to the ranks of Tau 5 by recreating the Samsara project. Selected for this mission is Eleva Mirnon. Having graduated at the age of 20 with degrees in computer science and physics, she was recruited young by MTF-Gamma 13, making her the perfect candidate for the Samsara project. But they weren't ready. It went wrong. The paratechnology integration with her body failed, leaving her crippled from the waist down and leaving her consciousness trapped firmly in her flesh prison. No longer able to serve as a member of a MTF and fighting against the poorly integrated paratechnology that serves as a reminder of the failure that ruined her life, she was transferred to be a researcher in the newly short-staffed Site-19.
Of course, she was chosen for all of this because she's so loyal to the Foundation that even this wouldn't make her question it... Right?

(Is that okay? Let me know if that's too much)

Site-19 remained relatively quiet for the night. Guards still patrolling the facility due to the prospects of the damages to the site potentially risking another containment breach. As Dawn broke over the facility the lights in the cubicle area shut on and the rooms of scientists and guards alike were filled with the shrill noises of the foundation-issued alarm clocks.

As Foundation personnel moved back and forth through their rooms many of the night-shift  guards and researchers milled about in break rooms or returned to their quarters for much needed shut-eye. Dr. Zarkevich clasped at his glasses and roamed towards the closet of the living quarters, Palming for a shirt he affixed his glasses on his face and blinked before finding a clean long sleeved shirt and a yellow colored tie. As he finished up getting dressed he finally slipped on his lab coat and cleaned off the red star pin that rested on his collar and left his quarters.

Although Red has been assigned the night shift he had only retired to the Foundation's break room. Busy trying to get a coffee machine to work

The chop of helicopter blades cut the relative calm of the morning as a jet-black helicopter landed near A-gate.  Four purple raccoons dismounted, each one wearing the black-on-blue uniform of the Mobile  Task Forces. The raccoons pulled bags and cases of gear from the copter and waved the pilot off.
The leader, marked by his shear size and beret, called into his radio. “MTF Rho-18 is on site.”

A few seconds later, the automated announcement system squawked out. “Mobile Task Force Rho-18 “Strikebreakers” has entered the facility.”

Eleva sat up in bed, transferring into her chair with a practiced ease. She gets ready for the day with some difficulty, listening to MTF Rho-18 arriving on her own old MTF Gamma-13 radio with a rueful frown. "Oh boy... Time to start yet another day of sitting around looking at slightly animate objects." She rolled out to the break room to see about getting a coffee.

And so Nemiroff arrived at the Site 19 on his own 'Vodnik' offroader. Using his relationships with the Russian military, he was able to convince them to provide him the equipment he used during his service at Chernobyl. And since he performed good, his request has been satisfied and Victor has gotten everything he needs to do his job here. He was even wearing his uniform since then, typical Russian special forces uniform - easy to maintain, pretty good during cold seasons and it was just a good camouflage.

"Nemiroff is online and ready to work". Simply stated the operative and headed out of Vodnik toward the site, double times checking his weapons (AK-15 with some additional clips and GSh-18 with some attachments).

Red shook the machine and sighed as Foundation personnel mulled about the break room. He pressed the button a bit harder and managed to get the machine to work. On the other hand Dr. Zarkevich had been moving through the halls and weaving through people before stopping and looking up at the intercom as it announced the arrival of the MTF team. He silently adjusted his tie and coughed as he thought about the reasons they might be there and what they were going to do, after that brief pause he managed to slam his foot into the side of Eleva's wheelchair

The lightweight titanium alloy is not pleasant on his foot, and he manages to derail Elwva’s path a bit, jerking her sideways. “Watch where you’re going!” She snaps, and then frowns. “A lack of precision... gets people killed in this line of work.” She straightens up her wheels again, taking a glance at his nametag. “Dr. Zarkevich. I’m going to expect more in the lab.” If he were to note her own nametag, he’d know that Dr. Mirnon has been assigned to some of the same research as him.

The "Strikebreakers" filed into the site, guns kept in a relaxed position.
Ronnie barked orders at his siblings, pointing them to their designated areas. "Ray! Light containment and D-Class housing. Keep 'em corralled and refrain from lethal force. Valentine, Jayce! You're in heavy containment. Keep the researchers and yourselves safe, the docs still have tests to run." The troopers filed off as ordered, answering only with a nod. Ronnie checked his kit and headed for Zarkevic, aiming to notify the researcher and get a lay of the land.

Ray filed D-Class into their respective cells, only goading them with the barrel of his rifle. He knew why he was in D-Class, he was the only one who wouldn't immediately harm D-Class and could help those that needed it.

Jayce set up sensor modules at the entrance of heavy containment as Valentine assured the scientists that they would not interfere with research.

Nemiroff was a simple man - he gets an order and executes it to the last word. He rarely asked questions which don't make a sense, this is why he was the best in the Russian branch because of this but for some reason hasn't been assigned to any of MTF. But before he has been sent here, Victor has been instructed to represent MTF-9 as a part of the extension of the squad. Actually, just in the case with questions, he doesn't care about formalities considering them as a thing which could prevent him from doing his job well.

"MTF-9 is on air, waiting for orders. But could someone tell me what we're to gonna expect here?". Said Victor over the radio channel and because Nemiroff has an accent, Site 19 team could say that Victor was an actual Russian. Their accent was a thing which was impossible to not recognize.

Dr. Zarkevich looked at her name tag and back up to her face "Sorry Dr. Mirnon. I was trying to get to the break room" He said and stepped back to give her some room before rubbing his hands together and sighing "Damn..." He said before looking around and deciding to change course and meet up with the "Strikebreakers"

Site Director "Aquila" responded over Nemiroffs radio "Simple containment. Make sure nothing slips through any cracks that we've missed. Refrain from shooting any D-Class though."

Elena sighs and continues her own trek to the break room, seeing the coffee machine is being used she settles in to wait a moment for her cup of coffee. She listens to the MTF radio lines through an earbud to keep abreast of the situation.

Zarkevich silently stood in a corridor close to the D-Class containment cells. He looked around and pushed his glasses up and stared at the Foundation symbol that painted the wall.

Red looked back at Elena and adjusted his Red colored cap before motioning for her to move forward as he walked past her

Elena rolls forward and presses the button for coffee, tapping the mug a couple times to make sure it isn’t alive or something terrible. She grabs the mug and sips out of it, making to a nearby table to make sure she’s not in the way.

"Roger. Do I need to get familiar with the scientists or someone else before some shit would happen?" Added Victor later as he was curious about any sort of formalities. Even though he didn't like such stuff a lot, he used to this pretty much back at Chernobyl. But the reason for this was because scientists and other person were significant people and most of the Victor' tasks were issued by them only. So Russian was curious if that was the same here.

Ray walked out of one of the D-Class corridors, slinging his rifle over his shoulder. He smiled as he spotted Zarkevich, and took his helmet off. He slung it on his hip and cleared his throat. “D-Class are secure, Doc. Two were treated for minor physical injuries, one for psychological.”

Ronnie sidetracked himself and headed into the security office, staking claim to one of the desks.

Zarkevich was wringing his hands together as he locked eyes with Ray "Yes, Yes. Good." His ear flicked and twitched as he straightened his glasses "I'm glad we have you people on site." He smiled weakly before his ear twitched again and his eyes darted towards the door next to him, Security Officer Red stepped out and faced Ray and Zarkevich

Aquila responded almost immediately after Victor spoke "Keep your eye on a " Dr. Zarkevich." Other than that I'd advise you to familiarize yourself with your security officer Red as to hopefully work out a schedule"

Ray waved at Red. “You must be Site Security. I’m with Rho-18. Ray Blackburn.” He extended his Nomex-gloved paw.

Jayce and Valentine, after securing the rest of Heavy Containment, headed towards the Security Office.

Ronnie tied his teams’ radios into the Site’s local frequency. “Check check, all units.”

Red nodded and tipped his cap before looking around and examining Ray and Zarkevich. He rolled his shoulders before waving and walking back towards the Security Office.

Zarkevich watches before looking back at Ray and stating "I'm sure we're in good hands though. We won't be testing anything too dangerous so hopefully you and your siblings won't have to worry about anything dangerous breaking out... I think"

Ray thumbed his radio. “Check.” He released the button before returning to Zarkevich. “Ronnie’s handled just about everything. Regularly heads to 3008 to rescue whoever he can. Urbexers and such.” He sighed. “Truth be told, I’m more worried about D-Class. I’m the only one who won’t shoot to kill. Ronnie likes the fear factor, Jayce’s traps don’t differentiate, and Valentine’s a psychopath. S’why she’s got that rifle. Y’know...” Ray leaned against the wall, propping a boot up for comfort. “She spent two and a half days, belly down in the desert, hunting some mercenary. Patient as a sphinx and twice as dangerous. So uh...” He patted the scientist’s shoulder. “Don’t get on her bad side. She likes red balloons and ninety-percent dark chocolate.” Ray pushed off the wall and headed for the security office.

"Roger". Merely Nemiroff answered before heading to the security officer after leaving his 'Vodnik' on the parking lot. He wasn't worried that someone would steal it because this place wasn't the place where such persons might occur. What's was the real question for him, does the Site 19 still had some radioactive elements on its ground. Luckily, his suit was designed to work in harsh environments (since he served in Chernobyl) but without Geiger counter, he afraid, that his suit can accumulate radiation and thus be dangerous for others. Perhaps, someone here might answer it.

It was interesting for Victor how does this site could be recovered so fast. An incident of such a scale should close the site for years. But Victor thought that SCP Fond Directorate decided to follow the same way as Chernobyl did, just working above of hazardous grounds. However, the Russian SCP operative was more surprised when he discovered, that his security officer was a rabbit because all his previous co-workers were humans. But since Victor never asked non-sense questions, he resolved to go straight to the point.

"Officer Amaskewatch? I'm Nemiroff, you probably have seen my personal case. May I ask you some question related to Site 19?". Asked Victor once saluted.

(Martin, what's the height of Ellijah?)

Red turned his head and looked at Victor "Shoot." He said as he folded his arms

Zarkevich stood silently for a minute before adjusting his tie and straightening his back, his face taking on an almost entirely different form than before as he palmed through his pockets and fished out  his key card and looked at it before quickly moving away towards where he was supposed to test for the day

Dr. Mirnon goes to the test area as well. She could probably scan the new arrivals, but it’s probably not worth the headache. Her keycard hangs around her neck for easy access, so she taps it on the door to the research area and looks at the files for what her and Dr. Zarkevich are researching today.
Title: Re: The Foundation (SCP-based RP)
Post by: SadDubwool on April 14, 2019, 08:01:13 PM
Many of the files were average testing using D-Class to deescalate some of the more violent SCP's whilst others were spitballing more interesting tests. Such as potential neutralization of certain SCP's or contact and subsequent negotiation with groups of interest and researching those the Foundation doesn't know much about, An addendum written by Site Director Aquila was that they should monitor SCP-106, SCP-173 or SCP-093. The first few for any signs of increased aggression and the latter to hopefully expand the understanding of the object.

Eleva immediately volunteers for testing on SCP-093. She had only seen it once, analyzing some files from the land beyond the mirror, but it fascinates her. Today she sees that they’re testing different D-classes for a new color.

“Have you touched the disk, Dr. Zarkevich?” She asks absently. “What color does it turn for you? Or are you afraid to find out?” She stares intently as one after another the D-class prove themselves useless. Blue, green, violet, yellow, red. Over and over again.

"I already would've if I wanted to but there are some things that you'd rather let your psyche take care of." He looked at the disk in silence as it was shifted from colour to colour "I don't have many regrets. I'm from a simple background that didn't really put me under a lot of duress anyway, I don't need to figure myself out through some... Anomalous mood ring ...." He blinked before sighing and scratching his nose "Most likely it'd become Yellow. Maybe even Blue."

"Ha. The chances of that happening are slim to none." He smiled as he looked at her before reading the tone in her voice and nervously staring at the disc "You have a point, I wouldn't expect myself to survive though." He said as he adjusted his glasses and sniffing before writing more of the test results. He was curious of what would happen if he had touched it but would rather not think of what would happen on the other side of the mirror once he entered

Eleva waves for security to remove the testing D-class, and then she rolls in. She reaches a hand out over the disk and... pauses. She’s read the files. She knows the story. Is she willing to try this, knowing what it means if it works? “It means a chance to do what I’m good at again.” She whispers to herself, and then touches it. For one moment it’s like nothing happens, and then the disk glows white.

Ray and Ronnie entered the lab, wearing heavy body armor and wielding large automatic weapons. The guns were chambered in .408, delivered by belt-boxes.
Ray leaned in towards Ronnie and whispered. “You read the reports, boss?”
Ronnie smirked, drawing the machine gun’s bolt. “Afraid she’ll come back hostile?”
“Well, yeah,” Ray nodded. “Speaking of, isn’t she familiar?”
“The researcher?” Ronnie shrugged. “Not to me. Though, memory’s been a bit scrambled lately.”
Ray nodded again. “I’ll ask if she comes back normal.”
The two returned to attention, watching the mirror.

Still looked seriously Victor asked. He never has seen any of them, just knows about such objects. But in case there was any of them - he wanted to know.

((Ah shit I forgot to reply to this part))

"Not to my knowledge. Although I wouldn't be surprised if there was more than a little background radiation. With the Thaumiel situation... Well... To be absolutely frank with you i really don't know...Considering the level of secrecy the higher-ups have when it comes to 'em." He leaned over a desk and placed his head on his arms "From the knowledge that I have we just need to focus on keeping the Keters contained right now."

Zarkevich watched as he gnawed on his pen before slightly jumping as Ronnie and Ray entered so nonchalantly. He looked at them and panned over their appearances before looking down at his pad and paper and looking at his writings of which almost all of it was scrambled and scratchy. He very quietly wrote down the new color before quickly sketching a small headshot of Eleva and connecting the two images with a line and violently jotting down question marks

Eleva stared at the disk for a long moment, and then set it back down, watching it lose its glow and then roll to the mirror of its own accord. She nonchalantly rolls back out. “Well well well, if the foundation isn’t going to have to deploy me again after all.” She means back in her chair and looks at the gathered group. “I know you guys have some sort of paratech somewhere that will let me walk again. No matter what you’ve told me.” She finally smiles. “We’re going on an expedition, right?!” She looks at Zarkevich. “Terrific. We’ve not had any new research on this thing in ages! Not since... well, that was a long time ago, right?”

Zarkevich taps his pen against the paper and writes down more words "I'm not sure what you're talking about but I don't know whether or not you might be able to survive this ordeal. You definitely won't be able to reliably escape any creatures when your confined to that wheelchair..." He taps the pen against his forehead before sighing "But... It's a new color and it's against protocol to deny you outright "

He exhales through the pen and starts to wring his hands again, He silently grabbed his radio and seemed to have started a conversation with the site director. After some articulation and a touch of bribing Zarkevich holstered his radio and looked at Eleva

"She said "Your funeral"... Nothing about getting you to walk again but if you still want to do this we'll have you hooked up to a cable to make sure you aren't lost." He said as he adjusted his glasses and looked back through the window to see if the stone had made contact with the mirror yet

Jayce sighed and took a seat in the staff room, shedding the heavy armor and harness carrying his tools. He propped his boots up on the coffee table, reading news from his phone.

Valentine sat at one of the tables, a simple ready-meal in her paws. She ate methodically, barely registering the already nearly tasteless food.

Ray cleared his throat and leaned close to Ronnie again. “Y’ever talk to oh-four-nine?”
Ronnie nodded. “Neat guy. I got to put those French lessons to use.”
“You know French?”
Ronnie chuckled. “Yeah. Got pulled to help at Site Aleph for a month.”
“Huh,” Ray returned to attention, checking his weapon again.

Eleva starts arranging with the site director an incursion into the mirror. She suggests, if they'd be willing, to deploy part or all of MTF Rho-18 as well since they are already here, and site security is already struggling after the breach. She also contacts her old squad to call in some... favors.

Zarkevich examined the portal and thought about what it could hold and what Eleva could be hiding when it comes to her mental health and regrets. Admittedly Zarkevich wanted to try it himself counting the fact that he was constantly anxious due to his past experiences in the Bosnian Wars and the fact that he needed to deal with inconceivably dangerous reality breaking creatures on an almost daily basis

Jayce and Valentine arrived at the lab, obviously disgruntled. Ronnie turned to them with a wry smile. “Jayce, you’re relieving Ray, and standing guard. Ray, Valentine. You two will accompany the researcher into the mirror. She is the HVI, and must return above all else.”
The two saluted and flanked Eleva, waiting for the go ahead.

Zarkevich made his way around the lab and kicked the machinery into gear, He peered into the video feed which connected to the terminal in front of him and tested the doors of the containment room to see if they were able to close and lock in the event of an incident which caused one or more of them to become anomalous.  He tuned his radio into the site security frequency and placed it on the desk closest to him just in case security was needed

Eleva picks up the disk and rolls forward towards the mirror. She places a hand on the mirror and it shimmers for just a second before revealing a plain room with a single door leading out of it. "Well... Let's do this." She rolls on in.

The next room is what someone who had read all of the previous files would recognize as a facility in which the ‘wicked’ were placed into vats of tears. Many of the tubes are broken, and a terrible smelling brown sludge is everywhere. A few of the tubes are intact, some even seem to be full.

“I took the time to read through all of the documentation about this SCP when I was assigned here. This world... used to be the same as ours, but at some point it diverged. They became fanatically religious, sending ‘sinners’, huge faceless torsos, out of the land. Of course, that didn’t work forever. The liquid in these pods, they called ‘lord’s tears’. It’s some sort of healing liquid.”

Zarkevich watched through the monitor as he wrote down even more details. He was surprised something hasn't tried to attack them yet but remained cool headed when it came to that ever-possible threat. He was intrested in what that flash drive held and had been thinking about how the location itself might relate to Eleva. He hadn't known much about her except a quick background check which has mentioned her being paralyzed in some sort of incident involving experimentation. Maybe the flash drive contained something solely relating to Eleva.

Both Ray and Valentine drew steel on the door, fingers hovering over triggers. Valentine, familiar with the creatures here, fed a fiber optic cable under the doorframe, giving herself enough room to back away and draw her firearm if necessary.
