Title: Postable Moderator Alerts
Post by: Nova Starpaws on January 19, 2019, 07:09:36 AM
I had an Idea for posting. Lets say there is a religious discussion and then it becomes heated, and there is backlashing. There should be a way to discreetly notify moderators that something very wrong is happening. Maybe like this:

[WarnMods.Reason: Heated Discussion]

When you post this, it disappears from the post, but also sends an automatic message of the last couple of posts to the moderator. Maybe the mods could have extra options with this like, They can change how many posts they want to recieve. So someone who is on all the time could set it to 25 posts, whereas someone who isn't on all the time could set it to 5 posts. This could also be implemented into private messages. If someone feels like they are being personally attacked they could do this:

[WarMods.Reason: Personal Attacks NumberofMessages: #]

And it would send the last couple of messages to a moderator. With pm, the person sending the alert can specify how many messages gets sent.

I hope this is a good idea.

You can use the "Report to Moderator" button ( which looks like this at the bottom-right of the post : (https://i.imgur.com/5uSF8TB.png) ) if there is something going on. They do get a notice of where something is going on and also about when as well. Also of note, the staff tend to look over the entirety of the thread as well to get a better idea of what's going on.

What about using my idea on private messages. That would mean however, that someone with enough ability can read anyones messages.
