ive been a furry since I new what it was. my mom recently got a iPhone to replace her flip phone now.then she texted me asked me what what was with the blue hamster costume on the phones picture profile. note she hates furrys like she wants to kill them she thinks of them as creepy clown animals or something. its tough already that she knows im bisexual and she is Christian. im panicing she wont except me as her son.

Well... I hesitate to give any advice on this, as my parents are at worst indifferent to my involvement in the fandom, but I do have some questions for you.
1. Are you financially dependent on your mother?
2. Does she dislike them because of the sexual association? What exactly does she dislike about them?
3. How comfortable would you be giving a slighted answer (e.g. just describing it as a cartoon)?
The definition of furry, from my point of view, is very loose. It can mean anything from someone who uses an animal as his or her online presence (a la Bearing or Atheism is Unstoppable) to the usual definition of someone with a sexual interest in anthropomorphic animals or an actual anthropomorphic animal. I myself am not comfortable giving half-true answers, but I don't know what your relationship with your mother is like.
If your mom is afraid of them the way people are afraid of clowns, then I'd guess the biggest danger you'd be in would be if you were a fursuiter. I'd expect you'd get a lot of nagging over it... my best advice is to find an understanding adult. I don't know where you live; most people in person I've talked to about this have never heard of furryism, and are themselves apathetic over the sexual involvement (I tell people that most members discover it through searching for fetish art, which may or may not be true). Your mother might not be willing to understand (or she might, again, I don't know), but there are definitely people out there who are.

my mother hates furrys cause she see's them like creepy creatures my mom has always hate any anthro animal or creature. I have always suspected it started when my sister got into the fnaf series of games.
.im not financially independent on my mother.
.im fine with cartoon but still I don't think my mom would like thinking about me waking her up in the night while wearing that.
my mother can turn any thing creepy

Chief if your mom wants to kill people shes prolly got afew more broken things going on in her head then not liking furries.

Hey if I were you I'd just tell your mom that being a furry is not that bad and you don't have to think so but I believe that being a furry is what I want to be and you can't change my mind. Maybe even play some "That Girl is On Fire" while your at it. ;)

I think she is just misinformed about furry culture. I have seen that a lot unfortunately. I wouldn't take it personally. My advice is educate her in what being a furry means. I'm not entirely sure about her religious beliefs (I'm a strong christian myself), but when it comes to religion people have the tendency to behave in irrational ways.
