-A white wolf dawned in laboratory garb flips over a closed sign to open. He places a sidewalk sign out. it reads: "You want it, I got it! Apothecary Supplies, Beauty Products, Detergents, Essential Oils, Pharmaceuticals, Books and Snake oil! Come one come all! I got something for anyone and everyone! For special orders, inquirer inside-
[A very distinct smell of chemicals fill the air as you walk in. The shelves and floor displays are lined with glass bottles filled with liquids and powders of different colors and textures. Some glow, most don't, in the corner of the building is a door labeled 'Greenhouse']
[The wolf stands behind the counter mixing liquids of different colored over a bunsen burner with a small glass rod. He wears a pair of bottle cap goggles.]

"uhm hi, you said you got what i need?" Light walked in and saw the wolf

[The wolf jumps slightly taking notice of his first customer]
"Yes! Well... probably... What is it you need and i shall do my best to accommodate."
[He gives a toothy grin as he sets down a glass flask on the counter behind him. His goggles still covering his eyes.]
"I gots lots of things here. Things to make you bigger, things that make you shrink. Things that make yah smell good and things that make yah stink. Just a grand ol selection, all made my yours truly. And i also do custom concoctions. If i Haven't figured it out, you bet i will"
[He motions to the wide selection of items on the shelves]
"Or can i interest you in a lovely ficus plant?"

Roxi came in shortly after. Looking around and not interupting. She really didn't know what all she wanted, but this place was very interesting. She shifted a simple brown messenger bag from shoulder to shoulder. Flicking her tongue. It smelled interesting, to say the least.

[The wolf takes notice of his new customer and throws her a smile.]
"Welcome to my shop! If i can be of assistance, please, do not hesitate to ask!"

"so..." light continued "do you have transformation stuff"

[He gives a wide grin]
"You bet I do! What kind of transformation elixir are you looking for?"
[He asks very inquisitively]

"well what do you have"

"Well, I got on hand right now...." [He grabs a book that has a potion bottle on the front]
"I got... wolf, dog (various), feline(various)[size=78%], gorilla, monkey(various), Reptial [/size](various), Rodent (various), Hyena, Insect (various), Fox (various), 'Big' Cat (various), River Otter, Fish (various) [not recommend without body of water nearby] annnnnnd.... Dragon [Black,red,blue,copper,gold,silver]" He says and closes the book.
"Anything else would have to be 'Made-to-order' and would take a little bit of time, depending on the specimen"
[He removes his goggles revealing bright yellow eyes]
"Anything like that catch your fancy?" He politely asks

*Wilco enters the shop, hitting his head on the door as he entered* Ow...

*Walks in through the door* "Woah, I always wanted to see a new age shop." *The man walks around looking at different vials on the shelves* "I don't think I've ever seen something in this exact shade of blue before..."

*Wilco looks around for the owner of this shop*

"do you also have non-organic stuff"

[The Owner stands behind the counter].
I got organic, non organic, stuff that's dead, dying, and just coming into existence
"May i interest you in a shrinking elixir? I got it in both organic, and GMO.. between you and me, GMO works better if you dont mind the added carcinogenic effects..." He shifts a little bit.
He takes notice of all the furs who have walked into his shop and he greets them one by one.

You got anything to help cybernetics? I kinda wanna upgrade mine in the ways of... lets see... telepathy, alchemy and maybe psychics?

"Well friend, I can help you with alchemy" He says rummaging under the counter for a moment and plops down a book. The cover says Merrill Chemistry: A Modern Course.
"That's the basics, now as for true alchemy, I can teach you, but with your cybernetics, I'm not entirely sure the applied...well we can see"
[He is eyeing the cyborg]
"I can however mount a glass lined compressed chemical tank and run a tube to your wrist so you have a chemical thrower"
[He says this with a very serious face, scratching his chin]
"But for other upgrades, I don't specialise in cybernetic augmentation, but I can Make you a very good heavy weight oil that will keep them parts lubricated for the next century"

[Looks at the fur looking at the blue potions]
"Seeing anything in particular that i can interest you in?"
[He gives a warm smile]

[He opens yet another book and points to a product code and a price next to it]
"Well, with what I pay for it... it will be 7634.95... or you can do me a favor.. a bit of a large one.. and she is yours for free, and ill throw in the book and installation as well"
He says in a slightly hushed voice

"There is this creature i've been looking for... a specimen, an animal, found deep in the jungles to the south...It is like a cross breed of a mountain lion, desert fennec fox, and a chameleon. They are about the size of a pet german shepard, and hyper aggressive... I need a sample, a flesh sample or the full creature for my 'research' "
[He gives you a look like he just doesn't want to do it himself, but like this is business as usual]

The snake continued looking around. Oh, lots of people. (Image for snek in my first post) She stayed a little back more. Ooh, this was all very interesting. Roxi decided it was worth it to stay, even though she disliked crowds.

"so... uhmmm.... you got wooden plank transformations? powder f liquid though i prefer liquid"

"Well... That would be a trick... turning a fur into a plank of wood.... I could do that... but im assuming you want to return to normal at some point.... Umm Even with my massive understanding of alchemy... I'm not God.."
"But something living i sure can try."
[He grins]

Welcome to the shop! Is there anything that i may interest you in? I've got many balms, oils, rare stones and minerals. Anything....well almost anything your heart desires... I hope. [He lets out a chuckle]

*reappears with the specimen and faints from the injuries*

"Ahh yes... excellent"
[He takes the specimen and drags Wilco to the back for healing]

My, lots of stuff going on. She didn't get time to respond, so just watched the wounded floof go into the back. She couldn't of given a straight answer anyway. Roxi flicked her tongue again and began looking at the items for sale.

[Pyrus walks back out from the back]
"My sincerest apologies, How may i help you?"
[He Stands with a warm smile @Roxi]

*Wilco wakes up and walks out from the back, before looking for Pyrus again*

[Pyrus stands leaning on the counter with a large box with Wilco's name on it]
Thanks for your help, I hope to do business with you again soon. Oh and i'll come up with some fancy liquids that can be put in that tank.
[Pyrus smiles]

*Wilco hefts the box up* Thanks for that. I'll come back when they're ready. Just let me know! *He smiles and leaves*

"okay if something living is easier you can give a fish transformation" Light looked nervously around "and as soon as possible"

[Pyrus places three vials of liquid on the counter. They look incredibly old, with a cork stopper sealed with red wax. the label is also tied on with a few pieces of twine. One labeled goldfish, another Bass, and another Goblin Shark]
"This is one I have right now. I was in the process of making a few different ones, but they need to set for a year depending on the species. and it isn't permanent. Each vile will last a week if you drink it all at once. A dose will last one day, and each vile has seven doses"
[He looks happy to get rid of these vials]
"I highly recommend being near water, for you have about 3-5 minutes before it will take affect, and you may feel a slight burning sensation for 2 days after"

"oh no!" Light hid as quickly as possible when a lion walked in with a piece of paper "I'm sorry to disturb you from your work but have you seen this man" he showed a picture of Light

[Takes piece of paper and looks at it]
"What did this fox do and why are you looking for him?"

"well he didn't do anything JET, but we have reasons to believe he wants to assassinate the king, he already has his trust and the king wouldn't believe us when we say he wants to assassinate him exactly why we came to your place because this stuff can assassinate people if put in the wrong hands. When you see that fox can you please not give him anything"

[Pyrus looks at the fur holding the paper and places it behind the counter by the till]
"I shall take note brother, if I see anything, I will definitely tell the king's men. However in the mean time, may I interest you in some horny goat weed extract?" [Pyrus smiles and places a bottle on the counter]

[Pyrus looks to Roxi]
"How may I be of assistance today?"

She looked for a moment. "Ah. So, a friend of mine is interested in alchemy, and chemicals. Very into science. Where did you learn?" She inquired. This was a lie, as she was asking fir herself and not a friend, but it wasn't too important. She was just curious. "Also, are some if these transformations temporary?" Sha added.

"Well, you can tell your 'friend' I've been doing alchemy for a very long, long time." [Pyrus smiles]
"And I'm also looking for a shop hand with a willingness to learn" [He continued handing Roxi a piece of parchment-not printer paper-]
"And as for my transformation elixirs, most are temporary, but permanency isn't unheard of, i've made a few in my day.. but generally the folk who need them, are less than.... well savory. and of course, all purchases are strictly confidential"
[He gives another very warm smile]
"I hope to hear about a fill for that assistant position soon"

"no thanks" the lion replied and went away
Light came out of his hiding spot "phew, thanks for not telling on me"

[Pyrus looks at the fox with a dead serious look]
"I'm no snitch."
[Pyrus sighs}
"If I told on people, most of my high priority customers would be in the dungeons. Allegedly however, regicide is something i've come accustomed too over the years fox. Kings do things that the subjects refute, rebellion sparks and there I am at the heart to aid the revolutionaries... This isn't my first, nore will it be my last..."
[Pyrus gives a wicked grin to the fox, his words seep out of his mouth almost like a black mist, his eyes almost seem to take on a crimson glow.]
"So if my assumption is correct... what 'special' items are you looking for?"
[Pyrus bears his teeth in a wicked smile]

She was eager to learn. Roxi nodded, and watched the fox. 'Why would you he suspect..' She mentally questioned. The fox didn't exactly look dangerous. Well. Never know. She knew better than to tell aswell. Especially if this wolf would be her future employer. She just attentively kept mental note.

[Pyrus looks to Roxi]
'I can't wait to have an extra hand around here, there is a bit to do around here"
[Pyrus chuckles]
"There is much room for advancement, and if you do well enough, I may pass some of my personal notes for you to try out"

She simpered. She'd always been a bad liar. "I'd gladly help out. Whatever you need, sir!" She was now grinning ear to ear. Well. About where ears would be. Hers were not visible.

"When can you start? and do you need lodging? for I can provide anything you need."
[Pyrus gives Roxi a warm smile]

"Whenever you'd like! And I have a place. It's just a bit far. But I promise to be here on time!!" She quickly affirmed. Beaming at the nice opportunity.

"Well... what do you know of alchemy or the alchemical process"
"You can start now if you've nothing to do today"
[Pyrus inquiers]
"Just so I know where to begin with teaching"

"I've experimented a bit, and can identify a few things. But, not sure of certain reactions, hence experiments, hence four fires and shrinking a few items. None of which were mine. . ." She winced slightly at this thought.

"Perfect, starting from basics"
[Pyruse seems happy to have a student willing to learn]
"First off, do you know what KNO3 is?"
[Pyrus asks testing Roxi]

(Changing. Going to work trivia night. Gotta be there by 6, central time also totally didn't use something to cheat <.< )
"Potassium nitrate is a chemical compound with the chemical formula KNO₃. It is an ionic salt of potassium ions K⁺ and nitrate ions NO₃−, and is therefore an alkali metal nitrate. It occurs in nature as a mineral niter." She stated. "Chemicals I'm decent with."

"Now, do you know how to render it threw primitive means with nothing but straw, cooking pot and a metal colander spoon?"
[Pyrus smirks knowing Roxi will probably not get it]

"I am honestly not sure. I need to learn for a reason of course. May I ask how?" She questioned, tilting her head.

[Pyrus chuckles a bit to himself]
"Well, this goes back to a medieval way of obtaining it, first one must gather straw, then over the course of six to eight months you must introduce uric acid at least three to four times a day then boil it in a cooking pot then scoop the white froth that appears on the top of the water"

"What species would you like?"
[He looks at the fox]

She quickly wrote this down. Glancing to the fox. "Are you meaning to hide? Fish have a bunch of enemies, plus we fish ourselves. Maybe something better for hiding?" She proposed. Not liking the fact bigger fish, birds, furs, and more would take any fish as a snack.

[Pyrus looks to Roxi and smiles.]
"I love your enthusiasm, but if this gentle fox would like a potion, who are we to say what its for or how he uses it"

"perfect idea! Give me a permanent goldfish transformation and a temporary wolf"

[Pyrus places the wolf potion on the counter then looks to Roxi]
"Roxi, would you be a dear and fetch me a few Brugmansia seeds, and Aconitum flowers from the greenhouse?"
[Pyrus points to the greenhouse door in the back of the shop]
"I'll also need some scales of the goldfish and a few of the Nematanthus flowers from the back as well"
[Pyrus gives a very warm smile to his assistant then looks back to the fox]
"Will that be cash, card, gold, silver, deed, or favor?"
[He grins at the fox]

"meaning I can get it for free if i do you something back" Light looked surprised "favor, definitely favor"

[Pyrus gives a toothy grin]
"Perfect, the world needs more 'go getters' like yourself"
[Pyrus leans against the counter and folds his hands]
"Now... I must ask you to complete this favor before I complete my end of the deal. I require you to obtain a few apples for me. But not any apple, I require the Manchineel apple."
[Pyrus takes a deep breath]
"Another thing before I send you off on your task, I must stress... do not eat any of them or rest under its branches or you will surely die"

A tall white wolf walks into the doorway looking around as he proceeds. He wears his ushanka as he enters the room walking towards the counter.
"This place gives me the creeps... I have a bad feeling about this place. I wonder if they have what I want" he whisper to himself as he gets closer to the counter.

[Pyrus looks to the new customer]
"Privetstviye tovarishch, how may I be of assistance today?"
[Pyrus gives a warm 'innocent' smile to the wolf. He has his hands folded over one another]

Looks at Pyrus with a suspicious look.
"Ummm... I'm looking for an antidote for a Purple Gekko Toxin? Do you have one of those?" He said with a calm and gentle smile.
Pulls up his sleeves revealing a huge bite mark.
"I tried to buy an antidote from another potion store, but they dont have stock so..." he said wit a calm voice "I applied something to it to slow down the effect, but l think its wearing off."

"It just so happens that I do in fact have a few viles laying around just in case"
[Pyrus disappears in the back for a moment and soon returns carrying three vials, two vials of white liquid and a vial of black liquid]
"The white ones are the antidote, and the black one is a little concoction I like to call 'Black Lotus extract'"
[Pyrus slides one vial of the white liquid to the wolf]
"That one is on the house, the others are a different story"
[Pyrus grins at the other wolf]
"I'm assuming that you might need the other one, and the extract is what I could only assume is for a rainy day"
[Pyrus bears his teeth in a grin]

(Late response, sorry!) She quickly gathered what was asked for. More than happy to help. Hopefully that fox would be alright. She'd heard a tad bit about the trees, and how some cars even were damaged. Sounded... fun.

[Pyrus looks to Roxi]
"Now that those reagents have been gathered, there is a few mortar and pestles in the back that are clean. I'm going to have you powder what i have had you gathered and I need you to boil about a gallon of water then let me know when they are powdered and everything is ready."
[Pyrus gives a smile to Roxi]
"A doozy of a first potion, Huh?"

He grabs the potion then bites the cork off as he slowly rolls up his sleeve.
"This is gunna sting so bad- Hgk!" He grunts as he slowly pours the white liquid on the Gekko bite mark.
He sighs as he looks at the bite mark slowly fading.
"W-wow... I didn't expect it to be THAT effective!" he said with a confused look on his face.

"I try to use my craft to aid people where I can, when I can, for it is my calling on this plain of existence"
[Pyrus folds his hands over one another on the counter]
"Now... may I interest you in these remaining vials, or possibly a sample collection kit, for I'm always looking for new specimens for reagents for my elixirs or remedies Tovarishch"

She eagerly nodded and made mental note of the directioms, repeating them in her mind as she slithered off again to carry this out. A doozy, yeah. But she knew she could handle it!

"I'm back" Light looked hurt and sweaty, he's got scars and bruises all over the place, he also has one giant bag full of apples "Never doing that again"

[Pyrus grins and slides a small tin of salve to the fox]
"Perfect friend! Now with that tin, apply once a day for a week and you shouldn't scar and the fur should grow back... or don't, scars make you look distinguished"
[Pyrus lifts his head up to show a large scar across his throat]
"Never upset a lonely dutchess, she may try to shut you up for good"

"HAHAHA! I see! You're interesting I'll tell you that. Not only you make high quality potion, you even give requests!" He said with a grin.
"The name's Erik Sokolov, but you can call me Erik, I am a Hunter. I'm hunting something called Mammoth Spider, I heard that Spider's venom is very expensive. If you're interested I could give you some, but you can also give me requests if you want. I can hunt some creatures for you, free of charge! But I'm not so good with herb gathering."
[raises chin]
"So how about it?"

"I always would love to expand my inventory, and I will gladly accept that spider venom as payment. For as an alchemist, i know one thing, 'you can't get get anything without giving something in return'"
[Pyrus pulls out a small paper bag and places some wadded tissue paper in it]
"I always will pay, whether its with my potions, or with useful tidbits of knowledge, even depending some of my own blood for a cause, but i digress, I can't wait to have a partnership with you, I can see it will be very enlightening. Tovarishch[size=78%]"[/size]

[/size]She returned cheerily. She'd remembered directions, and awaited the judgement on what had been made.

((Believe you me I try not to but I end up speaking wrong or something lol))
[Pyrus takes a bit of the powders and rubs them in between his fingers. Then he takes some of the seed powder and tastes it.]
"Perfect, consistency is right, good first attempt"
[Pyrus takes out a lamp oil burner and lights it {It looks like its been used since the 1400s or later}]
[Pyrus pulls out a burner flask and puts a flask mount over it and fills it halfway with the sterilised water Roxi brought then taking out a microw spoon to shovel some of the powder in and lets it cook for a bit]
"While this cooks a bit, I think I need lunch"
[Pyrus's stomach growls]

"We could probably all go grab something. If you'd like, that is." She remarked. A bit hungry aswell. She failed to hide how happy she was about doing it right.
(I currently have three mean girls against me. Mainly because, if you're a.. female dog, to me, I will return the favor. Nice is also returned. XD)

[Pyrus looks to Roxi and smiles]
"That would be lovely, Let's go grab a bite, my treat. What would you like? I'm feeling brisket"
[Pyrus looks to the flask on the burner and turns it down to a low flame and places four vials of a white 'whipped' looking fluid, in a diamond pattern close to the burner]
[He then grabs a old, well worn looking leather coat and waves Roxi to come with]
((Noted XD But as I said lol, I try to be nice, but i'm way too old school for these new days apparently {Raised by my grandpa and grandma} But I try to be nice lol))

"What do you want?"
[Pyrus looks to Roxi]

"Oh well..." Erik said as he proceeds to crack his knuckles.
"I'll be going now, I've already prepared so I have no need to stay any longer. Do you u want something for me to pick up during my hunt?" He stands idly waiting for a response.

"Anything you think I could make use of tovarishch. I'm always looking for rare and exotic reagents such as rare flora or fauna"
[He gives the wolf a dark smile.]
"And if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask"

"Nah, I'm already well prepared." Erick smirks as he turns to the door.
"Oh, by the way... I'm interested in that black potion you got. I'll check it out when I come back."
Erick walks out the door as he was about to say something he stopped himself from doing so.
"This is good... this is very good... its good to know that I'm not the only psychopath here."
Erik said to himself as he approaches his truck with a grim smile etche in his face.
He drives off.

*The wolf dragon mixes two vials together to create a blue fluid* This should create the air refrigerant I need to make the environment the perfect temperature.

[Pyrus looks to the fur mixing chemicals in his shop]
"You do know I carry freon..."
[He obviously looks concerned about others mixing chemicals in his shop, a gas mask in his hand ready]

"Well, I mean what could possibly go wro-." *The vial explodes*
"Again, well, I guess I might have to take you up on that freon."

[Pyrus puts on a mask and hits a switch behind the counter. The air in the building feels like a 15 mph wind sucking into a few vents on the ceiling pulling any and all smoke or gasses into it]
[Pyrus walks over to one of the shelves and pulls off a large can of the freon and a connector hose]
"This is for a car, fridge, or anything that takes it" He exhales out of his mask then inhails
"With your experience with chemicals may I interest you in one of these CDR 4500 NBC masks" He exhales and inhales again

"I'll take the mask and the freon." *The wolgon smiles* "I gave up my lungs a long time ago!"

"Perfect" [Pyrus says threw his mask]
[Pyrus walks with the wolgen to the counter]
"How would you like to pay? Cash? Card? Silver? Gold? Or maybe a favor?"

I'm 39. She is 15 though. As to how she got the marks... I married an alchemist, had a kid with her, and, as far as I know, she was born with them... Shame she had to die a few years later... Erik leans his back on the counter. He was listening to the conversation awhile ago. He is taking interest in it.
He puts his sack on the counter and proceeds to take items out of it.
He pulls out:
1 Jar of Green Liquid
8 round jellies
2 pointy fangs
2 Sack full of Silk
And 1 black flower.
As he puts them in the counter he proceeds to listen to the conversation.
"Heh. What a coincidence... Has fate brought me here on purpose? " he whispered to himself as he pulls his sleeve to reveal a mark on his wrist.

[Pyrus looks unamused and pulls out a spanner from his pocket and gets in the car and shoves it in the ignition and twists the starter and the engine spuders to life with a nasty clicking noise. Pyrus quickly drives to the loading bay in the back and drives the damaged vehicle inside with haste. Pyrus without missing a beat, grabbed a large jug of a very acidic smelling clear liquid and proceeds to pour the whole jug on the fluids that were left behind because of the crash. The liquid makes short work of everything it touches except for the blacktop road and concrete. Pyrus walks back in and walks to the back and throws the jug into a furnace and presses a button as the flames quickly burns the jug to ashes]
"We will take care or the car later. We need to get ready for our trip."

"Not too far. Just over near the big ravine, to the north of here. That's where I ran the car into.." He admits miserably. Hunter gives Pyrus directions during the drive until they arrive at the site of the crash. It looks like nobody has noticed it yet.
The car is completely wrecked, though. It's a miracle that Hunter escaped with no injuries. The thing is jammed into a boulder at the bottom of the ravine. The windshield is completely smashed and the front of the car has crumpled into a twisted hunk of steaming metal. The right side passenger door has been torn off its hinges by a tree, and hangs limply from its trunk.
In short, this thing is in bad shape.

The car is completely wrecked, though. It's a miracle that Hunter escaped with no injuries. The thing is jammed into a boulder at the bottom of the ravine. The windshield is completely smashed and the front of the car has crumpled into a twisted hunk of steaming metal. The right side passenger door has been torn off its hinges by a tree, and hangs limply from its trunk.
In short, this thing is in bad shape.
[Pyrus looks at the car. He gets out and shuts off his car, holding his bag]
"Damnit... ok"
[Pyrus reaches into his bag and pulls out a green vial and pulls the cork with his teeth, spitting out the cork and chugging the potion, a look of bitterness comes across Pyrus's face. He takes off his jacket. All of a sudden, his muscles start bulking up to a very un natural size. His clothing ripping in the presses. He jumps down to the destroyed car]
"STAND BACK BOY!"
[He gives a guttural scream as he picks up the car, ripping it from it's resting place, and throwing it up the hill with a mighty toss. It lands on the road, cracking the pavement with a smashing sound. With a mighty leap, he jumps up and lands by the tangled mass of metal.]
"Now the real fun begins"

He grins nervously at Pyrus and then dives for cover behind Pyrus's car, not sure what insane things are going to happen next.

(oh mys) Nari waited paitently i the shop, not understanding what the big hype was over a 'car' which honestly seemed old fashioned to her.

"Ugh...I feel kinda weird," he says. "But at least that worked. I gotta get home fast, though. How much do I owe you for the repair job/satanic ritual that just happened?" he asks Pyrus, standing up and brushing himself off.

Hunter drives home in his newly-fixed car, sliding into the garage mere minutes before his dad arrives home. He breathes a sigh of relief when his father doesn't notice anything odd about the car, and just goes about his day as normal.
However, throughout the rest of the day, Hunter is bothered by the new emptiness inside of him. He had thought it was an aftereffect of Pyrus's spell that would wear off after a couple of hours, but it doesn't, even as the pain from the cut on his hand does. He decides he's got to speak to Pyrus about this. He can't go on feeling so empty and cold forever. He sneaks out of the house again, without his father noticing, and slips back to the potions shop.

Suddenly, he springs forward and slams his hands on the counter. "Please, you gotta undo this! I didn't know you were gonna rip my soul out to fix the car!" Hunter begins frantically shaking. "I can't live like that! You want me to outlive everyone I know and love? I have to live forever with this terrible emptiness inside me just so I could fix a car?! NO way! Put my soul back in my body, NOW!"

Turn this curse into a blessing..."

I can't just go back home knowing I'm an immortal being and my soul is in a lugnut. What do I have to find to reverse the soul-magic-whatever that you did?"

Roxi had refused the offer to go, but now listened closely. "Man, I'm regretting the choice of hanging back. Well, at least it's not mass-genocide-soul-less. Yet at least." She felt bad for the both of them. Unable to relate. She grew up with her parents, but never particularly attatched. They weren't too great. Could've been worse, but eh. She didn't care. Though seeing them die would still be terrible! . . . Roxi also felt bad for the fact he was having trouble hiding anxiety and panic. She was usually half decent at that.

Hunter glanced over at the fox and snake whispering next to him, but couldn't hear what they had said. He was a bit too distracted to care anyway, and felt close to tears. His shoulders sagged in defeat. What was he going to do? The crushing void in his heart where his soul should have been felt like it was eating away at him, and according to Pyrus, he was going to have to live with it for hundreds of years. What was he going to do with his life? What about his family and his friends? What about...school? Suddenly, going there seemed kinda pointless. He glanced hopefully towards Pyrus, hoping that the older wolf had some advice about his predicament.

"Usually in crowded places I tend to coil it when not moving. Though most try and avoid it so they don't trip, it does happen. Other furs dislike snakes, and give a nice radius." She laughed. "Though, it's fairly durable. A normal stomp would hurt, but I could still get out from under it and be fine."

And for my children.. they died 300 years ago to the blade of an assassin. But... study with me. And mabey with you helping. We could figure out this whole thing... and the empty feeling will go away after a while... But it takes time to adjust"

"My dad's always bugging me to get a part-time job, anyway. Can I come by here after school everyday? I know school doesnt matter as much now that I'm...immortal. But my family will get suspicious if I suddenly drop out."

Hunter hurries out the door and heads home. He resolves to get back the lugnut holding his soul, as it seems too important to leave it attached to the car. He sighs, figuring he'll just have to deal with the consequences of wrecking the car, since the illusion will wear off once he removes the lugnut. He decides to come back to Pyrus's shop as soon as he gets out of school tomorrow, both nervous and excited about the new things he will be learning.

Go to the fire pit out back and collect wood for a fire, and get an empty paint can from the back.Hunter is putting away the glassware that he finished polishing. He looks up when Pyrus walks in. "Do you have a new lesson for me?" he asks excitedly.

Hunter's ears droop a bit in disappointment at the mundane nature of the lesson, but he does as instructed. He returns to the shop with an armful of firewood and holds up an empty metallic paint can as well. "I got em!" he says.

[Pyrus pulls out a Phillips head screw driver and punches one tiny hole in the lid and fills the can with wood chips. He piled the wood into the pit and starts the fire. Once it roars, he places the can in the fire and a bit of smoke starts coming out of the hole]
This is the best part of alchemy. It's an experiment you don't have to worry about.

The flame's brief splutter catches Hunter's attention and he looks hopefully back at the can, but then realizes it's still not done. He turns back to Pyrus again. "Nam?" he asks. "You mean, you fought in the war?" The more they talk, the stranger Pyrus's history seems to Hunter.

"I've faught in many many conflicts, my first war I faught in was the 100 year war. At the time the French were a force to be reckoned with. Then I took a break.. 300 ish years, then I moved to the new world cause i was tired of dealing with the crown.. one of the very few who knew who and what I was. Then that whole 1776 thing happened, and I decided to take my lucky wheel lock and fight for my new country.. And then I faught in the Mexican American war,the war of 1812, the civil war for the North, the great war as a Calvary man, world war two as a Flame trooper, the Korean war as an infantryman, and nam as a Marine Vanguard."
[Pyrus let's out a heavy sigh]

Hunter stares in amazement. "I guess I should've realized you'd have been in combat, since you've lived so long, but still..." he trails off. "How'd you even survive so many wars?"

"Never got caught, never surrendered, adapted, overcome, and don't be a hero. That and a neat little side effect from what we got is massive amounts of regeneration, but not super human abilities other than that. And the whole nie immortal thing"

Hunter grasps at the lugnut he wears around his neck. "So this thing is really the only vulnerability then?" he asks, gazing down at it. "I guess I should go bury it, then."

"Nine more?" Hunter groans. "Well seeing as we have some time, I guess I'll go find a good spot for this," he says, indicating the lugnut. "How deep does it need to be buried?"

He grabs a shovel that he noticed earlier when Pyrus instructed him to fetch the wood and paint can from the back of the shop, and then walks into the woods behind the store. Hoping to get far enough away from prying eyes to make sure this little piece of his soul stays undisturbed, he walks for a good while.
Eventually, he comes to a clearing with a very old, gnarled oak tree in its center. Though the oak looks very aged, Hunter thinks it has a quiet dignity to it. He decides this is a memorable enough spot, and digs a hole next to the tree's roots with his shovel. After a while, he has a small hole that is about 3 feet deep. He figures that it looks deep enough for his lugnut to remain undisturbed. He takes the rounded piece of metal off of his neck and drops it in the hole, then quickly scrapes the pile of upturned earth over it. Finally, he covers the spot with some leaves.
Hunter heads back to Pyrus's shop and returns the shovel to where he found it. Then he comes back to where Pyrus is still cooking charcoal. "How much do we have now?" he asks.

She nods and closes the book, storing it for later. She then walks over to them.

"Oh!" Hunter says, starting in surprise at Pyrus's request. "Well, uh, we put some firewood into that can," he says, pointing at the flame-spewing can in front of him. "We're, uh," he scrunches his eyes in an attempt to remember Pyrus's lesson earlier. Then his face lights up in recollection. "We're burning away everything except the carbon!" he says. "That's what the flames coming out of the paint can are. It's the wood gas burning away. Pyrus says it's powerful enough to run a car at 85% efficiency," Hunter declares, proud that he remembered that little fact. "Once everything else burns away, what's left is charcoal, which we can use to make pretty much anything in existence!" Hunter beams at Willa excitedly. "Pyrus says we're gonna make gunpowder with it today."

Willa nods and looks around. She seems quiet, unlike her bubbly, happy self. She feels both her alchemist signs and sighs.

Noting Willa's unenthusiastic sigh, Hunter looks at her with concern. "Something wrong?" he asks, unsure if he's reading into things too much. He's never met Willa before, so he isn't sure if she's usually deadpan and unemotional like some of the other patrons of Pyrus's shop.

Willa shakes her head. "It's nothing. Just thinking about what my signs mean..." She looks at Hunter and smiles. "But my signs are not of importance." "Unless you know anything of the Philosopher's stone..." She adds to herself.

Hunter eyes the signs on Willa's body. He doesn't recognize them, and probably wouldn't recognize any alchemical symbol, but he doesn't feel fully convinced of the idea that they're of 'no importance' as Willa says. Why else would they be branded onto her body like that? But he holds his tongue and just nods. "Well...whatever they mean, I'm sure you'll figure it out," he says, flashing Willa another smile. "What were you reading about in your book?" he asks.

"Just alchemy stuff." She sighs. "I have a sign that Master Pyrus also has, and it's meaning is one that I still fear..." She looks worried, her blue tail swishing slowly.

Hunter looks confused. "He...did? Oh," he says, unsure what Willa means. "Did he know Pyrus?"

Hunter opens his mouth to reply, but can't think of anything to say. In the end, he simply says "Oh," and shuffles his feet awkwardly. "I didn't mean to pry into a sensitive subject. Sorry," he says with an apologetic look.

Happy to comply with that, Hunter runs off. He finds the stash of yellow rocks in the back of the shop, with Pyrus's carefully scrawled label reading "Sulfur". He quickly grabs a decently sized chunk of the stuff and carries it back to the others.
"Here you go!" he says, offering it to Pyrus. "We're gonna make the gunpowder now?" he asks with a gleam in his eye.

Willa goes into the back room and collects some silver and saltpeter. "Is this it Master?" She asks him as he comes back out.

Hunter looks up from watching Pyrus grinding away at the charcoal mix and sees Willa with an armful of ingredients. "Are we ready to make the gunpowder, then?" he asks excitedly.

Hunter staggers back from the massive blaze, startled for a moment. Then his eyes light up with excitement. "Cool!" he exclaims, glancing down at the saltpeter. "Uh, I mean... let's be careful, then," he says, trying to be more serious.
