A man clad in heavy armor enters the area, firmly wielding a rifle... likely a Security Guard. On his belt is a thick Combat Knife, a Stun Baton, and several satchels that likely carry a large variety of tools and ammunition. On his legs, a pair of pistols would be holstered, and strapped firmly. His head is hidden by a thick helmet with tinted goggles and a mask, but the flatness of the mask makes it clear he is, most likely, a human.
He turns his head from left to right, before his gaze locks at the carts. Flicking the flashlight on his rifle to "ON", he approaches the carts; rifle pointed forward.
"Hold there!" he calls out, before leaning down to get a good view of the figures hiding underneath the cart.
Upon seeing the troubled looks on their faces, he lowers the barrel of the rifle slightly, but keeps it pointing forward enough for quick reaction, should anyone make a sudden move towards him. He would also be standing just far enough away from the group so that any attempts at disarming him would be impossible.
"What's going on here?" he inquires, confusion clear in his voice.
"Walker, report!" his earpiece buzzes to life.
He lifts a finger up to his helmet and taps on the button. "Nothing to report, sir. Just a bunch of caged animals here."
"Good... keep an eye on them while I take care of some business here." the earpiece would reply.
"Yes, sir." he replies, before tapping on the button on his helmet once again. He then looks towards them, and sighs.
"Lemme guess... another attempted escape?" Unlike the other "handlers", he would appear to sound a bit more concerned, and far less aggressive.
After helping his Squad Mates escort the animals into the sewers, Leo turns to observe the place one last time, making sure that nobody was left behind. He takes another look up, and smiles behind his mask when he notices the cameras are all either facing up or at the walls instead of the ground... his contacts were already in the system here, it seems... the mission is going smoothly, for now.
Seeing the area empty, he holsters his weaponry to climb down the ladder, pausing only to carefully, and quietly, move the manhole back in place over them.
When he reaches the bottom of the ladder, he draws his weapon again, and motions to his team. "~Silencers.~" As if to demonstrate his motion, he quickly begins to twist a silencer onto the barrel of his rifle, and following that, his pistols.
As the squad would likely know, an area as concentrated as a sewer would spell trouble if the loudness of a gun were fired from within... and not just because of the risk of bullets ricocheting, or the sounds drawing unwanted attention. The loud banging alone would potentially risk making their animal friends, whose ears are unprotected and, likely, more sensitive, go deaf due to the sound waves bouncing around the concentrated area.
With his silencers on his weapons, he flips the flashlight of his rifle to "ON", enables his Goggles' NV Mode, and takes the lead, carefully walking through the muck and rancid waters, while keeping his eyes peeled around their front, from the 10:00 Position to the 2:00.

As he begins to walk, however, he feels a somewhat disturbing bump from his right foot... the distinct feeling of bumping into a body of some sort.
"~Hold~" he signs to his squad, before shining his flashlight to the immediate right. He backs up momentarily, and gasps when the wide spread of his flashlight catches hold of something he, in all his training, didn't expect to see.
While he knew that there would likely be dead bodies inside the sewers, he didn't expect the numbers to be very high. However, it would seem their "Ringmaster" had a bit more history behind his cruel actions than merely that which were the speculations that began a few months back... a lot more.
There, before him, is a room cut through the pipe, and dug through the dirt. Within the room, perhaps thirty to forty body bags lay. Some of them, having been torn open in some areas, where decomposing paws and other limbs hang loosely. A few of their faces even lay exposed, of varying species, from cats and dogs, to lions and bears... all of which, were once animals of the Intelligent kind.
Though familiar with the battlefield, Leo closes his eyes and mentally prepares himself for the reactions of his squad mates, and most of all, the animals that likely have known some of these unfortunate victims.
Seeing the troubled looks on the others' faces, Leo freezes in place, before slowly turning around. Seeing nothing in the intersection, a bad gut feeling begins to build in his stomach, before a suspicion begins to form in his mind.
He holds a hand up in a "Shushing" motion, before slowly leaning forward.
Everything goes silent for a long moment, until his helmet picks up an unnerving sound... a high-pitched chittering and clicking coming from the right.
"A Mantis..." he thinks to himself, before turning to face the others.
"Mask your scents, quickly! And whatever you do... Don't. Make. A. Sound!" he whispers, while putting his hand in the putrid water, and sloshing some of the smelly contents over his chest and legs. He would then reach into one of his pockets, pull out two Pistol Bullets, and firmly grip onto them, as if silently saying a prayer behind his mask.
He then waits for the others, motioning for his team to help cover the Animals' muzzles, to keep them from screaming, should the next move be too overwhelming for them.
"If I remember correctly, Mantises are mutated insects that hold no Rational Thought... monstrosities bent on hunting, eating, and killing... and we can't open fire this close to the entrance, or we'll only draw even more attention to ourselves! Luckily, despite having three small eyes between two bigger ones, their sight is poor in the dark... but their two big eyes can still sense movement... we'll just have to work our way around this thing slowly, and carefully..." he signals this message to his team via Sign Language, before getting one of his bullets ready to toss towards the left side of the intersection. If he can lure it away from their destination, then they can hopefully have plenty of time to sneak past it.
He would wait, of course, until everyone's scents are covered up.
