Title: The Stars are Left - Signup/Discussion & Summary
Post by: Rayleonarde on October 12, 2017, 01:37:51 PM
As the title implies, this is the signup post for my new RP, The Stars are Left.

Our story takes place in the sleepy town of Bridgestone. A quiet, north-eastern city in the state of Rhode Island, nothing much happens there. The town is flanked on two sides by a dense, almost creepily dense, forest, with a mountain and the ocean completing the scene. With a population of about a thousand (~1000), it's a very close-knit community. Crime is virtually nonexistant, people get along for the most part, and the standard of living is pretty, well, standard. However, there's something in the air, as the year comes to a close.

The story starts December 31st, 1965. People are coming in from all over to visit family for the New Year. Everything seems to be normal.

Everything seems to be normal as in "something atrocious is going to happen very soon" kind of normal?

That's correct.

Oh slam jam. I forgot I made this! Forgive my lapse, I'll have the story (and later thread) open for this soon.

Things have been set into motion, and I apologize for any strange syntax or whatever. I'm rather tired at the time of posting (both this and the new thread).

Name: Kai Sato

Age: 18

Species: Fennec Fox

Gender/Sex: Female

Build: Slight, thin, sloping shoulders, large fox-like ears, pointed nose, slight muscle development. Quite short, hitting barely 4'9'.

Looks: Cream skin, light coat of darker, more beige, cream fur, her ears are a lighter shade than the rest. Black tip to her nose, blue eyes,

Relations: A sister out of town,

Backstory: Parents assumed dead a couple years back from a plane wreck, the bodies weren't found. Still a touchy subject and she refuses to get on a plane to anywhere. Quite the quiet life, living it in the same house in the same small city. Always a mother's daughter she acts much like her mom and tries to avoid others as much as possible except in parties and special occasions.

Personality: Calm and quite, to see her freak out is not common at all. She tends to spend her time away from others, reading a book with a warm drink in the winter, cold in the summer. If your her friend on the other hand, whole different story. She'll talk a lot about interests. She tends to be cynical.

Had another font-size snafu, so I took the liberty. Anyway, looks good, welcome aboard.

'Fore we get started, I'd like to address how I'm going to handle this RP. For an example, please look at Murder Mystery at the Masquerade.
I'm not going to have a set 'character', rather I'm going to act as a story teller. If that makes sense.

Hmmm. I'm kinda interested in joining this...

I personally quite like the idea of somebody godding as a storyteller. Might add a little extra challenge for some reactive writing! :P

I'll have to to cook up a character, though. Might take a minute.

Anthro only, or is feral okay?

Have a young alter ego to Naake ni, a naive Omega wolf/shaman type displaced from his pack ...

Naake- I'll get with you over P.M.'s, if that's okay.

Cuz- We can start now, this RP's not planned to close, not this early.

So, with the Kai/Edwin interaction, I hope that this isn't too abrasive. I promise all players now, that level of 'godding' will be rare. But it's for the sake of intrigue and story.

May not 'join in' right off the bat, will play it by feel, but:

Name: Fuzzpaws (Fuzz to those who know him)

Age: not sure, Late adolescent/young adult-ish

Species: Wolf (Feral)

Gender/Sex: Male

Build:
Typical late teen/young adult: Tall (over 3'6" at shoulders, lean/lanky, slightly out of proportion. Will be a VERY large wolf once he fills out

markings:
Silver/grey coat with black tipping on ears, legs, and tail (which is longer and fluffier than a normal wolf), garker grey 'saddle patch' on back. strange feathering (think Irish Setter) on sides and down legs, quite large paws, but nearly hidden by the fur. Two eagle feathers braided into fur at base of left ear.

Relations:
Fuzz's Grandfather, a powerful wolf and Shaman named Naake ni, was found as a pup and trained by Native American Shaman  who saw his natural ability for the path. Naake ni believes that each must find their own path, and while he watches over Fuzz he does not get involved, but is waiting for Fuzz to come into his own abilities, whatever they may be.

Backstory:
Fuzzpaws (Fuzz) is the typical brooding teen, named for the soft, fuzzy furr on his legs and feet from birth. He is trying to find his place in the world, and his true name after being forced out of his pack.
Not an Alpha wolf, but an Omega Hybrid, able to take charge when needed, but prefers to be the peace keeper, but is NOT submissive. Was able to walk into a fight between pack members and stop it without fear of being harmed, was considered untouchable by pack. Was pushed out after one of last years litter was found to be a traditional Omega rather than a Hybrid.

Nobody minds me popping in soo late? :P

Thought I'd go with a female char, just to see how that works out...

Name: Sarah Cromwell
Age: 28 years old
Species: Wolf (Darkgrey pelt)
Sex: Female
Build: Average
Relations: Unknown
Backstory:

Nobody knows exactly where Sarah came from, or even how she found here way into the town, But, one day she washed up onto the mat of the office the office with a good suit, the proper paperwork, and a remarkably proffessional attitude. And thus, she was to stay.

During her period at the office, Sarah had shown herself to be a typical work-driven outsider. Solving any issues that crossed her path with a quick and sharp demeanor, before going back to her assigned tasks. Social interactions were rare, with Sarah clearly preffering to be left alone, and were  despite a seemingly un-hostile, commonly fruitless.

Whatever was the reason that Sarah wound up in Bridgestone was unknow. But, naturally, the word got spread that it was something much more than what met the eye...

Regarding roleplaying (and anything else, in that matter) it might be a polite gesture to just tell people that you're going off for a week, soo people know that you won't be posting for a while.

I dunna what the rest of y'all think, but IMO crashing someone from their motorcycle is a little too much godding.

Since Ray is the storysteller in this, I would've got it if it was a mechanical defect in the motorcycle, or the fault of another driver. But, how do you know that it wasn't about to be revealed that Marlow Cromwell (father figure) was world champion in offroad two-wheelers, making it completely unreasonable for Sarah to crash on a straight road, or something? :P

Fair enough, I'll change it up. I was kinda posting at work, thus the oversight. Thank you for showing me that, I appreciate it.
Title: Re: The Stars are Left - Signup/Discussion & Summary
Post by: Brisky on March 06, 2018, 08:57:36 PM
I'm assuming, since Jayce also seemingly walked to the eastblock commune, that it's not entirely unreasonable for Sarah to walk back to Bridgestone?
Title: Re: The Stars are Left - Signup/Discussion & Summary
Post by: Rayleonarde on March 06, 2018, 11:21:57 PM
Since time's a hard thing to display in RP, I understand the confusion. The commune's almost a twenty-minute drive from town. Walking would take almost an hour or so. Though not unreasonable, it's definitely gonna be painful.

And Jayce is...special...let's say.

Just to keep ya'all informed, have been having a rough time, and not feeling up to thinking through the RP process. Health, money (due to missed work), and now furrkid health issues (and more money out) have put a serious crimp on my free time and energy.

Hoping to get back into the mix soon, have been following the happenings, but just haven't been able to wake fuzz up.
